Parashas Vayikra

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Vayikra and seeing that it is the Shabbos before Purim ,it is also Parashas Zachor where HaShem reminds us of what Amalek did to us when we left Mitzrayim and they attacked our women and children from the rear.We read this before Purim to remember Amalek, for it was Haman,a descendant of Agag who was an Amelekite who tried to destroy our people, but was destroyed himself along with his ten sons, for the power of our Teshuvah of returning to G-D and following G-D Only and His Laws is the strongest force HaShem gave our people,to keep us safe.It is this force that can bring us close to G-D .
In this week's Parsha, as our Torah and Midrash says,we read about the Korbanos that are brought for different reasons, not only for unintentional inadvertant sins that would usually be punished by kareis for which we bring a Chatas Offering, but there are also Offerings brought to say thanks to HaShem as well as Mincha Offerings,Shlamim Offerings (Peace Offerings) and also (Olah Offerings (Elevation/Burnt Offerings) and also the Asham Offering (Guilt Offering). So the Korbanos brought ,have many different reasons, not just for sin .In fact,a sin committed intentionally, cannot have an Offering brought for it.Thus no Korban can be brought for Intentional sins .Only Teshuvah, fasting and our spiritual merits can atone for Intentionally disobeying our Creator .
Our Parsha, which begins the Third Book of the Torah, called Vayikra, starts off with the Word 'Vayikrah,' which would mean 'And He Called,' in reference to HaShem calling Moshe. It is here,in this Parsha , where the Torah explains how the different Korbanos are done and for what each one is for.
We notice that at the end of the word 'Vayikra' there is a small Hebrew letter 'Alef' and our sages teach us that the reason for this ,as it says in our Midrash, was due to Moshe's humility of wanting to be addressed in the lower way by which HaShem addressed Bilaam ,'with the word 'Vayaker,' as Moshe did not want the praise of kavod that would have showed that he had been singled out amid the congregation, for he was a most humble man ,so Moshe wanted to write the word 'Vayikrah' as 'Vayaker' without the 'Alef.' HaShem compromised and to show Moshe's Humility and to go along with Moshe's wish that there should be some indication in Torah that Moshe had protested ,wanting to be humble,HaShem had Moshe, write the word 'Vayikra,' with a small Alef,' so we would know how HaShem wanted to write it and of Moshe's humility and how Moshe did not want to be singled out for praise as being the one called.
How beautiful is Moshe.
I also believe there could be other reasons for this small 'Alef.'
If we look at the word 'Vayikra,' with a small Alef,' the letter Alef which is often the first letter of HaShem's Name , also shows HaShem's Humility and how He hides Himself within the Physicality for us to search for His Holiness in everything that exists . HaShem constantly calls us -'Vayikra,' from quietly within Creation and if we would just listen closely,we would hear HaShem Humbly calling to us to come close to Him all the time . The word 'VaYikra,' spelt 'Vayaker Ad-nai ' also means G-D is Dear,Precious and to be Honored .' Within this word 'VaYikra,' we are reminded of the preciousness of HaShem and how we should honor Him with our closeness and that we should follow His Laws . The very action of bringing a Korban is to come close to HaShem , for within the word 'Korban,' is the word 'Karov,' which means,'To come close to.'
This is what HaShem Has Wanted since Creation-our closeness . To Be One with us .
HaShem gave us this beautiful Creation and when we keep His Laws and treat this World as HaShem instructed, this World and all that is in it ,can become one with HaShem . All Creation would then become one with it's Creator and it would reach its intended destination - for all things to become G-Dly . HaShem often showed us in the previous Parashas how HaShem Wants to Dwell among us.By Dwelling among us and us becoming one with HaShem , this entire Creation would become part of total G-Dliness .
This can happen,if we listen carefully to HaShem's 'VaYikra,' - ' Call,' and come close to our Creator by offering our very selves and all we are , in and for the service of G-D .
G-D Always Calls . We need to always listen . G-D Wants us to be close to Him and never stray .The very story of Purim teaches us that . When we came close to G-D , G-D saved us .
This World is here to come close to G-D . It is up to each one of us to make that happen . It starts by each one of us listening closely as G-D 'Vayikra,' - ' Calls,' and following His Commandments ,for in each Commandment and Mitzvah G-D calls us to do , G-D Is Calling us all the time .
Let us all start right now . Let us all keep HaShem's Laws and HaShem's Precious Holy Shabbos and put aside our physical wants , to sit within HaShem's Shabbos really listening closer than we ever have before ,for HaShem is Waiting for us to listen .HaShem is Waiting for our 'Karov,' - 'our closeness .
Make a true and special effort by saying that from now on we will all keep HaShem's Shabbos and all HaShem's Laws and allow this World to come close to HaShem . HaShem Calls . Let us listen . For HaShem's Creation awaits closeness with Creation's Creator - HaShem HaKadosh Baruch Hu The Holy One Blessed Be He .
With Love to HaShem , I wish HaShem with love , a beautiful precious and sweet Shabbos with love and to all my fellow Yidden a beautiful precious and sweet Shabbos with love.
