Parashas Re'eh

Our Parsha of Re'eh this Shabbos also comes on Rosh Chodesh Elul which is the month before Rosh HaShanah, which is on the First of Tishrei, when we remember the Creation of Adam Ve Chava on the First of Tishrei, from whom we all come.
The month of Elul is a special month to prepare ourselves spiritually for it was on this day that we all came about and to acknowledge HaShem as our One and Only Creator. The month of Elul is truly a time to renew our relationship with G-D.It is a time of love between G-D and us and this is even in the word 'Elul,' which gives us the words ,'Ani le Dodi Ve'Dodi Li,' (each word's first letter spelling 'Elul) which means ,'I am for my Beloved (HaShem) and My Beloved (HaShem) is for me.' It is a time of love between G-D and us.It was also on the first of Elul that Moshe went up the mountain to receive the words of the second luchos (Rav Chrysler) and so,started a time of return and repentance where G-D comes down closer to us all to be more open to hearing our Teshuvah. This is a true act of love.HaShem thus gives us at this time a very special opportunity to make up for the wrongs we did and to return to HaShem and follow His Laws.
We read on this Shabbos,Parashas Re'eh, which means,'See,' where HaShem tells us that we have before us,a Blessing and a curse, depending on the choices we make.If we follow HaShem whole-heartedly,we will be Blessed.
An interesting word is used for this choice and this word is 'Re'eh,' - 'See.' What are we to 'See?' If we look a little bit closer the answer appears for the verse says,'Re'eh Anochi,' ' 'See Me ' - HaShem .If we keep HaShem's Laws and Commandments we will be Blessed with HaShem's closeness and See HaShem's Shechinah if we reach a Holy enough level. There is nothing more beautiful than that.In every Mitzvah we do and in every Law of G-D that we follow,G-D is there to perceive.Doing a Mitzvah is a step closer to being closer to G-D so for every Commandment G-D gives us that we keep,we 'Re'eh' ' 'See' more of the Beauty and Essence of the Holy Shechinah of HaShem.
Everything G-D gave us should be used for His Service as our Sages say.Our mouths and tongue are there to speak words of Holiness. Our hands are there to do Holy work with them for G-D.Our legs and feet are there to bring us to do Holy things. Our minds are there to think Holy thoughts. Our talents and abilities are there to be used in HaShem's Service. What HaShem gave us,should be used for Holiness. When we can do this,we bring our entire selves and physicality up toward HaShem and so,we get to 'Re'eh,' - 'See' HaShem's Essence. This is what living is all about and supposed to be.A life of 'Re'eh' - 'Seeing' Holy Works.
HaShem tells us to 'Re'eh,' - 'See,' the Blessing for it is with our eyes that we see and can be attracted away from doing the right thing. Our eyes ,which lead the rest of us and our physicality to whatever they see, must be used to see 'The Blessing,' and be thus used in HaShem's Service so that we can be led toward HaShem, doing Holy actions.
The curse comes if we stray and this Parsha talks of the false prophet who comes with signs, for it is the eyes that could be caught by physical marvels, yet leads people astray from ways that G-D instructs and so,HaShem instructs us to do away with such a 'dreamer of a dream,' for to do away with such a person, is a Mitzvah for the common good of all for it is only to HaShem that we should be led and it is only by HaShem's Laws that we are to walk in.This Parsha then goes on to the 'Ir Hanidachat,' the 'Wayward City,'that also tries to lead others astray and again HaShem warns us to destroy such a city and never rebuilt is for once evil gets a hold,it is harder to eradicate. It is for turning away from what G-D Wants, that brings curse. But if we are faithful to G-D and keep His Commandments then we will 'Re'eh' - 'See' the beautiful Blessings that HaShem wants to give us and the most beautiful Blessing of all,is to be close To and 'See' the Beautiful Essence of HaShem, may we all be deemed worthy.
The choice is ours. The choice is up to us.What we do at every moment, counts greater than we can ever imagine.
So, at the start of Elul, let us all take ourselves in hand and choose wisely so that we can bring ourselves closer to HaShem Who made us at this time.
Let us all follow HaShem's Laws the way HaShem wants us to and remember that all we have,is from HaShem. The tithes - the Ma'aser that is also within this Parsha that we are to give , reminds us of this very fact that all is HaShem's and all comes to us from HaShem .
May this be a time to make HaShem happy by returning to Him with deep love and faithfulness.
With deepest love,I wish HaShem a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov Elul with love and to all,a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov Elul with love.
