Parashas Devarim

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Devarim which starts out the fifth Book of the Torah. This Shabbos is called Shabbos Chazon ,coming just before Tisha B'Av .The word Chazon means Revelation or Prophecy and this is a very deep time of year in the Jewish Calendar, for while now and since the Spies brought back an evil report on the land, it marks a time of tragedy and calamity for our people, where it was the time we lost both Temples and other terrible things that were marked by this day like the Spanish Inquisition and the final solution in the holocaust among so many other tragedies, this day of our greatest tragedies through history, will at the coming of the End of Days, mark a dawn in the revelation of Mashiach and this day will be turned around into great joy and HaShem's Blessing when Mashiach comes. This is one of the reasons we call this Shabbos before Tisha B' Av, Shabbos Chazon.HaShem's Revelation and Prophecy is revealed through His 'Words' -'Devarim.'
Our Parsha starts with the calling by Moshe to the people to hear his words which he spoke from the 1st of Shevat till the 7th of Adar for 36 days. All were to attend . Moshe was our greatest prophet and his last words of prophecy and revelation ,cover the Book of Devarim. In this Parsha Moshe gives more details of things previously mentioned and talks of the spies, the battles Israel fought against Og and Sichon and the inheritance to Reuvein and Gad and half the tribe of Manasseh.
This Parsha starts out with the words ,' Eileh Ha Devarim Asher Diber Moshe El Kol Yisrael ,' which means ,'These are the words that Moshe spoke to all Israel,' and shows that Moshe called all the Children of Israel including the adults and children to attend and listen so that his words from HaShem would carry down the generations and be kept ,even after Moshe was no longer with us, like a parent for their children, his words from HaShem, would still be within our hearts. The very fact that these were his last days, made his words even more powerful to be heard.
He called all Israel which also includes those coming centuries later that we , even today should know that it is also to each and every one of us , that our very beloved Moshe spoke.
Nothing Moshe Commanded was of his own. All came from HaShem.
We see this in the very first word of this Parsha, which is the word 'Eileh,' which means 'These,' referring to all of Torah and all he was about to say in Devarim. Within the word 'Eileh,' is the Word 'El,' which is one of HaShem's Names, showing us that All these words of Devarim and Torah and all that Moshe ever instructed us , was from El, HaShem Himself.
The word ' Devarim,' means 'Words.'The word 'Daber,' within the word 'Devarim,' means 'To Speak.' The very fact that HaShem gave these Laws through Moshe shows how Moshe was a holy and pure vessel for HaShem . The words he spoke were HaShem's Words. This is how we are all supposed to be. Our words, are to be holy and sweet and pure. HaShem gave speech to us so that it can take us above the physical and lift us high to HaShem. We note that HaShem Created Creation, by Speaking and it came to be. We are to make sure that what we say to a person's face or even behind their backs, builds them and all things around us and doesn't break them down, for this would be contrary to HaShem's Wish in Creation. Our words are there to make Creation sweet. Our every word must be the sweetness of HaShem .
Every time we speak, we can choose how we show ourselves to the World. How we act, depends on our personal opinion of who is the most important. If we go through life being concerned about our own selves, our speech and words will hurt and destroy. But if we listen to HaShem and Emulate Him as He Told us to do and make our words and speech for HaShem's honor and purpose, we will help build this Creation into the End of Days it is to become.
Moshe was the most perfect example of one who spoke only for HaShem and never for himself. Thus were his words worthy of being called 'Eileh Ha Devarim,' for the words he spoke and his actions always, were 'always' for HaShem and others and never for himself and thus he was the perfect vessel for HaShem for when Torah says 'Eileh Ha Devarim,' - 'These are the words ,' Moshe could truly and in all honesty show that these are HaShem's Words.
May we all become vessels for HaShem ,speaking only HaShem's Beautiful Holy Words and doing only HaShem's Holy Mitzvos.
With love to HaShem, I wish HaShem with Love , a Sweet and Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all my fellow Yidden, a sweet and holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and a meaningful fast.Blessed Shabbos Kodesh with Love to HaShem and HaShem's Creation.
