Parashas Bo

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Bo . In this Parsha HaShem tells Moshe to 'Bo' - 'Come ,' to Pharaoh and again warn him to let our people go. This is just before the Eighth Plague of locusts. Pharoah again says no and HaShem sends the locust swarm, which is followed by the Plague of Darkness so thick that it was tangible - a reminder of the 'Nothingness that HaShem made before HaShem Brought Light to Creation. This was the Ninth Plague. You will notice that for each set of three plagues, HaShem sends Moshe and Aharon to warn of the on-coming first two plagues of each set of three Plagues and each third Plague of the set of three plagues up to the Ninth Plague, HaShem sends the plague without warning Pharoah. Now after this Ninth Plague, HaShem is ready to send the Tenth and Final Plague , the Killing of the First Born of Egypt and the destruction of the false deities of Egypt .It was here, that we remember how the previous Pharoah Seti II had thrown our Jewish boys into the Nile.It was here that Pharoah told Moshe on being warned of this plague, that Moshe was not to come to him to see his face again.Well that was true ,for after this plague struck, Pharoah came to Moshe and in essence, was actually appealing to HaShem, for Pharoah himself told Moshe to pray to G-D for him.
Before this final plague, HaShem instructed us on the Laws of Passover Pesach and of the Sign on our Door-post and lintel, reminding us to 'Higad'tah' tell, for all generations of the Exodus of ours from Mitzrayim. To this day,on Passover we read the 'Haggadah,' fulfilling this Commandment ,'telling' of our leaving Egypt in the Holy Month of Nissan. Our bags on our backs and our loins girded and our shoes on our feet and our staff in our hands as we left Egypt during this Holy time when only unleavened may be eaten throughout this period. The Matzos were so precious to the Jews, that they carried their Matzos of this First Passover Meal Seder, that they took out of Egypt ,near their bodies ,but put the valuables in their paddle-sacks on their donkeys.
HaShem gives also at this time, the Laws of Rosh Chodesh, showing Moshe at the beginning of Nissan, how the New Moon is to appear when declaring the New Moon. The Laws also of the Pidyon Ha Ben, the Laws of the First Born, were also given at this time.
And after so many years of slavery, the Jews finally leave the land of Mitzrayim, the land of 'Borders,' for home, for Eretz Yisrael..
This Parsha ends with the Tefillin, that every Jewish male wears on his arm and head.Within the Tefillin, are parchment scrolls, from verses in Torah, reminding us of the Awesomeness of our One Creator and also, of the reminder that HaShem Took us out of Egypt,a fact every Jew must always remember.
It is strange, that this Parsha has HaShem tell Moshe to 'Bo el Par'o,' - 'Come to Pharoah,' for wouldn't it be more in line - sounding , to ask Moshe to 'Go' to Pharoah? So why did HaShem Ask Moshe to 'Bo' - 'Come to Pharoah?'
In every Mitzvah a Jew does and in every Law of G-D, any child of G-D does, they may be going out to do that Mitzvah or Law, but in reality, they are actually 'Coming Closer' to HaShem .Whatever Commandment of G-D we fulfill in life, is in reality, 'Bo' - 'Coming to' HaShem, Coming Closer to HaShem, even if that means going to a foreign King like Pharoah .If it is something HaShem Instructs, then in reality, we are not just going to them (being the case of Moshe going to Pharoah), or going to that which HaShem Instructs,we are really 'Bo' - 'Coming' to HaShem .
The entire Torah of Laws is also about coming closer to HaShem . Every Mitzvah we do, is 'Bo' 'Coming' to HaShem, coming closer to HaShem .
This concept is actually hidden within the words of the verse in this Parsha where the word 'Bo' appears,' for the verse says 'Bo El,' and we know that the word 'El,' is HaShem's Name, so even though the word 'Par'o' appears after the word 'El,' it can also be read, 'Bo El Par'o,' which means, 'Come to G-D,' by going to Pharoah and obeying Me , HaShem ,'Thus, every time we obey HaShem and keep His Commandments, we are really 'Bo ' - 'Coming' to HaShem.
This is how we are all to live our lives, by making every step we take and everything we do, a 'Bo' - ' A Coming' to HaShem . This is true living.
So let us all ensure that every step we take in HaShem's Creation, is a 'Bo' - ' - A 'Coming' to HaShem.
With love to HaShem, I wish HaShem with Love,a Very Sweet Special Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all, a very sweet special Shabbos Kodesh with love.
