Parashas BeHar

Our Parsha this week is Parashas BeHar. The Parsha starts by telling how HaShem spoke to Moshe 'BeHar Sinai,' on 'Mount Sinai' about the Laws of the Shemittah and Yovel years. The Shemittah refers to letting the land of Eretz Yisroel lie fallow without being worked ,on the Seventh Year - The Sabbatical Year - like the Seventh Day Sabbath , so that the land can keep its Sabbath and the Yovel Year every fiftieth Jubilee year. This is such a Holy concept and keeping this Law shows utmost trust and faith in HaShem , to down tools and not work the land trusting in faith that HaShem Will Provide .The keeping of these Laws show HaShem how we trust Him explicitly and believe totally that HaShem Created Creation .Such an obedience of such Laws ,show complete and full gratitude that HaShem Controls all and Makes all .
But why does the Torah mention Har Sinai in connection with the Shemittah Laws , as this portion of Torah is long after Matan Torah , so why does HaShem mention this now that Moshe was told on Har Sinai and that the people appear to be commanded about it now? The reason for this is that when HaShem Spoke on Mount Sinai,His Voice from Mount Sinai continues forever as His voice penetrates all things , having no echo , where nothing can stop or contain it and so , it shows that all Commandments we were given through Moshe , were given at Sinai and HaShem's Voice continues forever from that very day on Mount Sinai through the generations into the future , Commanding us even today , about that which was originally given on Har Sinai . So all Commandments including Shemittah and Yovel and every Commandment and its explanation in our Written and Oral Explanations of Torah are still coming from HaShem at that very time HaShem spoke to us on Har Sinai . Thus all Laws and their Oral explanations and interpretations were given on Har Sinai .
Har Sinai was the most humble of Mountains as Moshe was the most humble of men .Moshe and this mountain are interrelated. Our Midrash tells us that many other mountains came to HaShem requesting that His Holy Torah be given on them , but Har Sinai ,a smaller and more humble Mountain thought itself unworthy . HaShem chose Har Sinai for its humility and respect and awe of HaShem .It was on this Mountain that Moshe stood at the burning bush and it was at the foot of this mountain that Yaakov first met Rachel (as Rabbi Dennis in his book Encyclopedia of Jewish Mysticism points out).
Har Sinai was in the wilderness , where the Children of Israel were , for so many years and it was here in this barren Wilderness that HaShem chose Har Sinai to Give His Precious Torah Gift to His People. Why was the Torah given in a Wilderness? To show us that HaShem can make sweetness flow even in a place that is barren and also , as a Wilderness is owner-less, so does HaShem show that this World is not owned by any person , but HaShem is the Master and Owner of all things and to acquire His Torah , one is to be humble like the Wilderness.
The Words 'Har Sinai,' has within it the Hebrew words ' "Her'eh S'neh ," which translates as 'The Displaying And Showing Of Light Of The Bush," for it was on this Mountain that HaShem Spoke to Moshe through the Humble Bush that burn't with HaShem's Light but did not get consumed," as our Jewish Nation through time is persecuted but will never be consumed and is protected by HaShem's Light , so from this Mountain of Har Sinai , HaShem's Voice of Light forever reaches out to us . This was truly the Mountain chosen for HaShem's Revelation of His Light .
This Light continues till today in every word of Torah spoken and learnt for His Sweet and Precious Voice is within every Letter and Word we learn and follow.
So by following HaShem and His Torah , we keep HaShem's Voice forever within us as It was given then on Har Sinai and as we teach it to our children we bring HaShem's Light into the future.
Let us keep HaShem's Continuing Voice within us and let It out to all that is around us , so that we can remain spiritually at the Foot of Har Sinai ,keeping HaShem's Commandments , as HaShem's Beautiful Voice fills Creation .
With Love to HaShem , I wish HaShem with Love ,a Beautiful and Sweet and Precious Holy Shabbos Kodesh with Love and to all my fellow Yidden , a beautiful and sweet and precious Shabbos Kodesh with love .

Parashas Emor

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Emor where HaShem Instructs Moshe to 'Emor' - 'Say' to the Kohanim, the sons of Aharon to remain completely Pure and Holy.
This Parsha intructs the Kohanim how to be and what Laws to follow.
The Kohanim were instructed with HaShem's Holy Work of the Sanctuary and were thus in close physical proximity with HaShem's Holy Shechinah . They thus had to be Holy and Pure at all times .Their work was also the Korbanos and from within the word 'Korbanos,'is the word 'Karov,' which in Hebrew, means 'Close,' for they were spiritually responsible for bringing closeness between HaShem and His People Israel.
HaShem tells us in His Torah that we Jews are to be a Holy People, ' A Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation.' At all times , we are surrounded by HaShem and thus, are we to be at all times Holy and Pure.
The Kohanim were to keep to a strict code of Holiness and Sanctity, as they carried out HaShem's Avodas .
Every part of their lives was to be kept strictly pure, from the women they married to the very physical way they presented themselves to those around them. The Kohein Gadol had even stricter Laws to follow for he had been anointed with HaShem's Holy Oil of Anointment that automatically gave him strength , physical beauty and a spiritual essence of holiness that was needed for his position .
The Kohanim resembled the Malachim - Angels that stand before HaShem and most certainly need to have sweetest purity .
As HaShem instructed the Kohanim to be pure , so must the entire nation of Isael emulate this purity by keeping Holy and thus opening a Pure Path to HaShem .
The word 'Emor' that is the name of this Parsha can also be a future tense word and so , when Moshe was instructed to 'Emor' - ' 'Say ' to the Kohanim what they need to do to be Holy and Pure, this Command was not just for then , but also for future times too , that the Kohanim must know that at all times , whether they serve in The Sanctuary or while we await our Temple to be built in today's times too and into the future at all times, so must the Kohanim always act with the same Sanctity and Laws that HaShem Instructed Moshe to Command them then to do.
It is for each and every Jew to ensure that these Laws get kept by the Kohanim in every generation as HaShem Instructed. Thus those who are leaders of the Jewish Community in every generation , have the obligation to 'Emor' - 'Say' to the Kohanim how they are to keep themselves Pure and Holy ,ensuring that they are given the required deserved respect of the Community , like being first to be called up to the Torah , to be the leader at a Zimun when Bensching, to be given the honor at saying Grace After Meals and even distinguished places at settings.
The Kohanim are to do HaShem's Holy Work and so must be Pure at all times .
The word ' Emor,' in Hebrew has the Gematrical value of 1 + 40 + 200 = '241' and 2 + 4 + 1 = '7' - the number that is the Gematrical value of the Hebrew word 'Mashiach.' Thus , the Holiness and Purity that a Kohain must be is as the Holiness that we must work toward for Mashiach's time to come .Keeping Pure and Modest and Holy , is one of the ways we can bring Mashiach . The very word ' Emor,' suggests 'Speech ,' thus our speech and words must always be Clean and Holy and without Slander . HaShem gave us the ability to ' Emor ,' - ' Say and Speak ,' and , as HaShem Spoke Holy Words and Brought Creation into being, so must we emulate by keeping our words and speech Holy and Pure. It is our speech and words that allows us to rise above the physicality of those parts of Creation that doesn't speak and so , we must use our Words to make the air around us always Holy and Sweet .
As HaShem instructs Moshe on the Holy Sanctity of the Kohanim , so must we instruct our children to keep to HaShem's Laws always and so must we teach all those around us of the Light of HaShem , through the very words we are given to 'Emor,' - 'Say.'
May we all do our part in making this World and Creation, a Holy World , for HaShem so HaShem can Dwell among us and so that HaShem may ' Emor,' - ' Say,' His Words to us in closeness . Let HaShe bring us closer to Him with His Commandments and may we continue to teach His Light and Commandments to our children.
May we all work toward hearing HaShem 'Emor' - ' Say ,' His Precious Words to us that we are able to hear ourselves , for HaShem Continues to Speak but we are not on a level to hear It . May we all work toward making ourselves Holy and Pure and this World a World that welcomes HaShem .
With Love to HaShem , I wish HaShem with Love , a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with Love and to all my fellow Jews a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

Parashas Kedoshim

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Kedoshim. In this Parsha are over Seventy Mitzvos that HaShem instructs to keep us Holy.
HaShem asks Moshe this time to address the entire assembly of the Children of Israel at once telling them to be Holy for G-D is Holy .
A Father wants to be close to His Children and thus instructs his children to be like him .This is a beautiiful show of closeness. HaShem wants our closeness as His children and so,wants us to emulate Him .HaShem is Holy, infact beyond Holy and so wants us to be holy too .This will allow our closeness with Him .
Our Soul is our link from HaShem and the body that surrounds the soul needs to be holy so that it can be a vessel that lights all around it and brings all around it to HaShem . But this World is so full of physical temptations that the body gets pulled by the delights that it comes across . So to keep the body in check , HaShem gives us many beautiful Commandments that hone the body toward spiritual holiness of and keep it holy so that it might reach the soul within it and so, can climb toward HaShem .These Commandments govern every walk of life and all the experiences we might face so that , out of HaShem's Love , we can remain protected from the physicalities that try to pull it down . Thus the Commandments actually free us from the physical World that tries to bind and tie us and so, let's us fly Heaven-ward towards HaShem .
The word 'Kedoshim' in Gematriah comes to 460 and 4+6+0 = '10' and 1+0 = '1' so the very 'Kedoshim' - 'Holiness' as the Word 'Holy' shows brings us to the Oneness of HaShem and allows us , by keeping HaShem's Commandments , to become One with Him . When HaShem Made Creation , HaShem used Ten Pronouncements to make all things - So is the Ten value within the word ' Kedoshim.' When HaShem gave us the Ten Commandments when we witnessed HaShem's Essence which is still with us, HaShem Pronounced Ten Commandments to bring us to be One with Him just as the word 'Kedoshim' brings us the 10 Commandments within the Word so that we can become One with Him .
Thus the very Holy Essence of each and every Commandment which honess our body to be holy, is a step toward HaShem .
To be One with HaShem is one of the beautiiful destinations of the purpose of Creation .
HaShem asks us to be holy as He Is Holy and gives us the special path of His Mitzvos to become that Holiness ,so we can become One with the One and Only True G-D and Creator HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu . Every time you fulfill a Mitzvah - big or small from our point of view ,for all Mitzvos have a value beyond what we can count and things aren't big or small in true reality for we don't really see the true value of each Mitzvah, we complete a part of Creation that HaShem set for us to complete , making us partners with Him . So count each Mitzvah as a Blessed Opportunity to fulfill Creation's purpose and bring all things to 'Kedoshim,' - ' Holy' Closeness with HaShem .
With Love to HaShem , I wish HaShem with Love , a Special Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with Love and to all my fellow Yidden , a special beauitiful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

Parashas Acharei Mos

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Acharei Mos,where HaShem tells Moshe after the death of Aharon's two sons that Aharon should not come at all times into the Sanctuary in the inner part where HaShem's Shechinah rests on the Holy Ark Cover .
In this Parsha,Yom Kippur is discussed, a time when the Kohein Gadol Aharon would prepare himself to go into the Sanctuary. The full procedure that the Kohein Gadol had to undertake was done with trepidation and fear for he knew into Whose Presence he was stepping. It is not a light personal thing to stand before HaShem. It is to be done with humility and pure unselfishness. It is to be done with humility. The High Priest would start to prepare long before and would have other Levites working with him in preparing for the task.
To a person of physicality, the choice exists every minute of life, for us to choose whom to follow - HaShem or the negative way , as the offerings to HaShem made on Yom Kippur reminded us and surely HaShem's Way is the one to be chosen.
HaShem is beyond Holiness and to be in a part of His Holy Presence is beyond our state of purity .To be in HaShem's Presence needs utmost Holiness and purity and for this as well, the Torah was given, to prepare us to be Holy so we can have a close relationship with HaShem .
HaShem is not in any way physical as some think .HaShem could never be contained in a mere human being.HaShem is far beyond physicality and its pull by the Yetzer Horah .HaShem asks us to emulate Him and we can only do this to a certain extent for we are still physical beings with physical needs and wants. HaShem certainly knew this for HaShem Created us,so what did HaShem mean when asking us to emulate Him? HaShem wants us to take our physicalities and hone them toward Holiness and keeping pure, clean and moral .HaShem knows that for us this is not an easy task and so,appreciates the extreme self sacrifice we make in putting our physical desires toward holiness. HaShem Created the Yetzer Horah to overcome it and thus raise ourselves spiritually above the physicality .Living a mere physical existence leaves us no higher than the creatures that walk the Earth only living to their physical needs and desires. HaShem gave us a voice as He Uses , so we can use it in His Holy Service to be able to make this World Holier . Every word we say remains in the air .It surrounds us and puts us above the animalistic tendencies of physicality .It allows us to share in HaShem's Beautiful Creation and complete this existence by sweetening the very air we breath with sweet words of HaShem thus inviting HaShem into the World. HaShem Created the world with His Word and so , do we fashion the purity of the very air around us with our words . As long as these words and our actions are clean and pure, so do we help to purify the World around us .
I mentioned at the beginning here that HaShem instructed Moshe to tell Aharon that he is not at all times to enter the inner Sanctuary for HaShem's Shechinah resides therein . We need to realize that HaShem is always around us .So we must at all times make ourselves pure and Holy for at all times we can be in His Presence .
The ultimate destination of Creation is also to ensure that the physicality has a relationship with G-D as Adam walked with HaShem . We too are to work toward this destination when HaShem will again Walk among us close and sweet .
But we need to first purify ourselves with HaShem's Laws of Torah that are His pathway to Him with love .
When this World can become a Torah-Keeping World , then HaShem's Shechinah can extend to us all and we can live within His Pure and Special Holiness .
Let Humility be our guide to putting our own wants aside of how we may want to live and let us all surrender to His Will.
With love to HaShem , I wish HaShem with love a beautiful Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all my fellow Yidden , a beautiful holy Shabbos Kodesh with love.
