Parashas Pinchas

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Pinchas.
In this Sedra, we start by learning of the Blessing to Pinchas.
HaShem then Instructs us to smite the Midianites,responsible for this outrage of their attempts to bring us down when Bilaam set up a scheme (in the previous Parsha ) to use Midianite women to bring our males down into the Midianite immorality of serving their deity,baal,which the midianites served, by defecating in front of their deity.
A census is then instructed by HaShem,to be given and we notice that the Simeonite numbers dropped in number,for they were the most exposed and tempted to the Midianite immoral attack as they were on the South , closer to where the Midianites set up their Market and flounced their women.
The Levites are again counted separately.
Tzelaphchad's daughters then approach Moshe and Elazar and the elders to question their inheritance for their are no sons to inherit in their immediate family and HaShem Allows these daughter to inherit seeing as there was no sons of their father who died in his own sin,which Rabbi Akiva says was the person who went out and gather wood on the Sabbath. They are also instructed to marry men of their own Tribe so that the Tribal Portion would remain in their Tribe.
HaShem then Shows Moshe the Land of Canaan and HaShem chooses a successor Yehoshuah to lead the Children of Israel into the land.
The Offerings are then discussed including the Shabbos,Rosh Chodesh,Pesach,Shavuos ,Rosh HaShanah and the blowing of the Shofar,Yom Kippur,Succos and Shemini Atzeres offerings and the Parsha ends with Moshe telling the Children of Israel how Moshe said all to the Children of Israel ,according to all that HaShem Commanded him.We also note that on the Succos Festival , an offering of 70 Bullocks are mentioned as a total for all the days and 98 lambs. The 70 represent the 70 other Nations besides Israel, for which Israel prays and the the lamb numbers that don't diminish each day, shows that no matter what the nations do to the Jews, they will remain safe at the end of Days. The 98 lambs representing the Jews, show, according to the Midrash that these offerings will protect the Jews from the 98 Curses for wrong, mentioned in Parashas Ki Savo.
In this Parsha HaShem rewards Pinchas for his action of bringing peace between HaShem and His people Israel.Pinchas risked his own life to remove the immorality from the Camp of Israel,that no insult should come to HaShem or Moshe.
When Moshe saw what Zimri,from the tribe of Simeon was doing ,bringing into his tent a foreign woman from the Midyanim ,cozbi daughter of zur a leader of the Midianites,Moshe did protest but Zimri answered and said to Moshe that he had no right to protest as he had married a daughter of Yitro, Tzipporah.Pinchas who was there with his teacher Moshe at the time,was not prepared to let this affront to his teacher go,nor the insult to G-D , so he spoke up,but Zimri answered and attacked Pinchas on his lineage saying that Pinchas' Father Eleazar had married Putiel who was related to Yisro,an idol follower who fatted calves for idols(as the name Putiel could also mean .Pinchas saw how the plague was destroying the Israelites and so ,Moshe allowed him to act on this sin of cohabiting with a foreign woman for Moshe said to Pinchas that the one who speaks true about this Law, let him act on it and so Pinchas picked up the spear and ,going into the Simeonite Tribe,pierced both Zimri and cozbi,killing them both and stopping the plague,which had already killed 24 000,the same amount who died as students of Rabbi Akiva later on in Jewish History during the Omer Period.
HaShem , Blessed Pinchas and Made him a Kohein and Blessed him that his descendants would be Kohanim Gedolim.During the First Temple Period ,18 of his descendants were Kohanim Gedolim and 80 of his descendants became Kohanim Gedolim during the Second Temple Period.
HaShem also Blessed Pinchas with Blessings of peace and long life and so Pinchas lived a very long time. In fact, Pinchas was one of the Spies that Joshua sent into Yericho.Our Kaballah also teaches us that seeing Pinchas made peace between HaShem and His people, Pinchas was Blessed to come down as Eliyahu Ha Navi who will also be the Harbinger of Peace and announce Mashiach's Arrival and a time of Eternal Peace.Pinchas was Blessed with long life and as we know, Eliyahu Ha Navi didn't die the death of men, but was taken up in a fiery chariot. 
So sweet is the Blessing of those who have the courage to serve our Creator as our Creator wants to be served and His Laws followed and Obeyed. 
HaShem is filled with such Love that even the smallest action is rewarded with abundant love,not that Pinchas' action was small, because it was a very large action of courage and love of HaShem and his teacher Moshe,but so sweet is it to love HaShem and so sweet is HaShem's Love in return for faith and trust and love in HaShem .
Pinchas knew that HaShem is always in the midst of Israel and thus, Israel must always be pure and clean and holy. So must we also know that HaShem is always amongst us and thus , purity and modesty and love must be the belt on our waist and the light that shines from within us always by keeping all the Laws of HaShem's Torah ,which is Light. 
Let the Light of HaShem burn from with in us, purifying all around us with HaShem's love.
