Parashas Chukas

Shabbos is Parashas Chukas and talks of the Par'a Aduma, the completely Red Cow.Here, something that is impure, purifies, which seems a hard concept to understand. How can something that is impure, make things pure.
This is the essence of the Chukim, which are Laws that do not have an obvious understanding for why they exist and how they truly work. They are Laws where we have not as yet been given an explanation for ,yet HaShem wants us to keep them.
From our point of view,as human beings,we tend to need to know why we do the things we do.That is human nature. But here, for a 'Chok' we are told to keep a Law and accept doing it without knowing why.
I feel that this is the truest test of love and devotion to G-D.To do for HaShem, without getting anything back, not even an understanding of why.I feel this, would be enough of a reason for HaShem to ask us to do something.Everything HaShem asks us to do,we need to realize, has deeper reasons that are beyond our understanding, but in these Chukim,we are to put our trust and faith in HaShem completely.
Infact,if HaShem asks us to do something,we don't ever need to know the 'why.' It is enough to know that The Master of the Universe Who Created All and Knows all,has asked us to do what He wants us to do.This is how we should feel with all the Mitzvot. The reason must be after the faith and trust and following of G-D.
We,as Jewish people, said to HaShem when offered the Torah,'Na'aseh Ve Nish'ma' that we will do (without needing to know the why) and then we will listen (we will do without needing to know the why). This is true faith in HaShem,This is true love of HaShem. This is true belief in HaShem.
To follow G-D ,we need to stop asking 'Why' and just 'Do.'
The word 'Chukat' has within it,the same letters as the word 'Tikach' which means 'To take.'HaShem wants us to take the Laws He gives us without question and do them.We know we can trust HaShem Who knows all. There actually is never a question when G-D asks things of us.
Our Forefathers knew this well. When HaShem called to Avraham to do the Akeidah,Avraham answered 'Hineini,' 'Here I am,' ready to do Your bidding HaShem,as early and quickly as possible, without question. This is how we are all to be.We are to do what G-D asks of us,without question.
Our personal feelings are of no consequence, when it comes to following G-D,for G-D knows best.Who are we to even contemplate arguing.
The Chukim are the perfect examples of faith in G-D,our Creator.
The idea of this Chok of the Par'a Aduma cleansing and purifying that which is impure,is hard to understand.
I feel that it could possibly be that when we want to make ourselves truly pure,we need to be tested by being put into a situation of impurity around us,so that we can choose the pure path.We will thus be more pure and on a higher level than before we were tested,by choosing the more pure and correct path and so ,will become more pure. This is what this world is all about.Around us are so many physical temptations.Being in a completely pure place like Gan Eiden, now, would not allow us to spiritually grow and so,we are faced here,in this place, with physical temptations, that if we choose to avoid,we become higher spiritually and will have grown toward HaShem. This I belive is one of the essences of the secret of the Par'a Aduma, that we need to be in a situation where there is impurity,so that we can choose to avoid it and therefore grow higher above it.
These kind of tests come all the time, for all the time,we are faced with choosing to do right over the wrong that is presented to us.Each time we do the right thing,we grow spiritually. So each occasion that we are given to grow in this manner,is actually a gift from HaShem for it allows us to come closer to HaShem.Coming closer to HaShem is the meaning for life.
Let us keep this thought in our minds and do all we can to follow HaShem at every opportunity HaShem gives us for that is what is life.Let us stop question G-D and trust Him from now on and know with total certainty that G-D knows best for G-D Created you and me and all of us and all that is around us and HaShem Created 'yesterday' and 'today' and 'tomorrow' and all eternity.Let us trust G-D in all things and do as G-D asks of us,in all things, without question and with total love for G-D.
With love,I wish HaShem with love,a beautiful and Sweet Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all,a beautiful and sweet Shabbos Kodesh with love.
