Shabbos Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah :- This Shabbos Is Shemini Atzeret and the following day for those outside of Israel is Simchat Torah , that brings to an end a Very Sweet And Holy Period Of Yomim Tovim , Where HaShem Came Closer To Us During This Period Of Very Holy Days . It was around this time That HaShem Had Created Creation And Was Thus Closer To It And So At this period of time every year , HaShem Comes Closer To us , To Be Nearer To HaShem's Creation , Emotionally . This is thus a time for us to sweetly renew our Cose Relationship With HaShem . We have celebrated our Holy Rosh HaShanah , The Day Of Adam Ve Chava's ( our ancestors ) Creation On The First Of Tishrei And On The Tenth Of Tishrei , we came Closer To HaShem On Yom Kippur , The Day HaShem Relented And Allowed us To again receive The Two Tablets Of The Ten Commandments . A Special Day , Given By HaShem , To Allow us to gain forgiveness for our wrongs . Five days after , On The Fifteenth Of Tishrei , we celebrated Succot , waving our Lulav and Etrog and dwelling in the Succah and now , we have reached the last two days of our Yomim Tovim . So the Festival of Succot has come to an end this Year and straight after Succot , This Shabbos , we celebrate A Special Festival called Shemini Atzeret , which means ' Eighth Day Feast . ' What is so special about this Yom Tov . Throughout the Seven Days of Succot and Hoshanah Rabbah within Succot Chol Ha Moed , we make certain offerings and one of these offerings , when added up every day to total how many of that offering is offered for the total seven days , it totals all together 70 offerings . This also has a reference to the 70 Nations of the World , meaning that on Succot , we are even praying for the rest of the nations to come right With G-D . We do not just care for ourselves , as many nations think , but through time have shown in country after country and place after place , that we contribute a lot to the caring of all around us . So when the other nations were persecuting us and preventing us from celebrating our Holy Shabboses and Yomim Tovim , like Succot , where on Succot we were actually trying to help them and pray as well for their forgiveness , by them persecuting us they were also hurting themselves and stopping an opportunity for us to pray for their forgiveness . So during these Holy Days of Prayer and Succot , HaShem Was Like a King who had and entertained many special guests and the time came for them to leave , But HaShem As our King , Turned To one very special chosen guest , who has through time and persecution , fought for and promoted among all , HaShem's Oneness , HaShem Says To this very special guest , the Jews , " I Have Spent many days With all my guests , Giving them an opportunity To Be Close To Me and now the time has come for them to leave , but I Request Of you , My Very Special Guest , to spend an extra day With Me , Just you And I , As I Find it Hard To Part With you , My Special Jewish Israel , So Stay With Me , one more extra day , Just you And I , A Special Festival Just For you alone . " This is Shemini Atzeret . For after the Yomim Tovim , we all go back to our busy physical lives and before we do , we must take the Specialness And Holiness Of These Holy Days That we Spent With HaShem In Closeness and make changes in our lives , continuing to carry These Holy Days From HaShem , With us Of Closeness To HaShem Into Everything that we do . This new renewed Closeness that we have gained With HaShem , must not just leave us as we move out of The Holy Days , but we must forever carry Them with us In Love For And With HaShem . This Is This Day Of Shabbos Shemini Atzeret . The day that continues to the following day , the day following outside Israel , Is Simchat Torah and on this day , the last day of these Yomim Tovim , we read the last portion of The Holy Torah That ends with the word " Yisrael " and then begin anew , the start of The Holy Torah , with the word , " Bereishis . " Torah is ongoing and its depth and learning never end . No one can ever reach the depth and mass of learning That The Holy Torah Contains And HaShem Instructs us To Learn It every day . To Grow with The Holy Torah every day . There is always something new and special to learn . The Mitzvos we need to do are clear In The Holy Torah . The Depth Of HaShem's Wisdom Is Beyond Eternal And Forever And Is Never Ending . To Come Closer To HaShem , The Author Of His Holy Torah , Is to study and learn and delve in every day , into the depths Of The Author HaShem's Holy Work , The Holy Torah . The last Parsha Of The Holy Torah that we read on Simchat Torah , is the Parasha of Vezos HaBeracha . Here , Moshe renews the Blessings of the Tribes , that Yaakov our holy Fore-Father gave . Moshe , unlike any other human being , was most humble and totally giving . Even at a time just before Moshe was about to pass on , his last action , was still one of selfless giving To HaShem And HaShem's Jewish people . Moshe first blesses Reuvein that he should , " live and not die and may his population be included in the count . " This blessing was to also help Reuvein and his Tribe , to be forgiven for Reuvein disarranging his Father couch . This blessing was to stand as a protection to the Tribe of Reuvein as well , for they stood on the forefronts of battle , when they would go into Canaan under Joshuah . The Tribe of Simeon , is not directly mentioned ( but the letters of his Tribe , the Shin , Mem and Ayin , appear in the word " Shema " in the blessing of Yehudah , in this Parsha ) , carrying on the direction from Yaakov's Blessing , due to his action against the Shechemites at the time in Yaakov's time . It was also Simeon who threw Yosef into the pit and wanted to do away with him . It was a leader of a house of Simeon , who took part in the debauchery of the Midyanite women , bringing a Midyanitess woman Cozbi , into his tent , directly in front of Moshe . So the Tribe of Simeon was not blessed directly , but received its blessing also among the territories of Yehudah , where Judah gave some of its conquered territory to the Tribe of Simeon . Seeing that the Kings of Israel would also come from the Tribe of Yehudah and that they would play large roles in the battles for their people , Moshe Asked For HaShem To Give Extra Protection To Be , " A Helper against his enemies . " Of the Tribe of Levi , though they joined Simeon in the attack on the Shechemites , this Tribe of Levi proved itself through time , to stand fast With HaShem , even when members of the other Tribes got involved with the Chait Ha Eigel Golden Calf , the Levites were the only Tribe that did not . Even though the Simeonites and some members from other Tribes were enticed to the Midyanites , the Levites were not enticed and in fact Pinchas , a member of the Tribe of Levi , stood up amidst the Congregation and destroyed the evil from our midst , by standing up For HaShem , against the leader of that house of Simeon who had committed sin with the Midyanitess . The Tribe of Levi stood firm For HaShem and ministered For HaShem , to the people and performed The Avodah Of The Sanctuary , replacing the first born . So did Moshe Bless them and their Priesthood . For the Tribe of Binyamin , Moshe says , " May HaShem's Beloved dwell securely by Him ; He Hovers over him all day long ; and rests between his shoulders . " This reference to Binyamin being HaShem's Beloved , is because Yaakov's son Binyamin , during his lifetime , never committed a single Aveirah , never took part in the sale of Yosef like the other Tribes did and it was Binyamin , who supported his Father physically as a help , when his elderly Father needed to walk , it was Binyamin who helped his Father walk and let his Father Yaakov rest on his shoulders And So Did HaShem Refer To the shoulders here in Moshe's Blessing , Where HaShem's Holy Temple Would Rest In Binyamin's portion of the Land . Moshe then blesses the Tribe of Yosef with similar blessings of bounty as Yaakov did and also refers to " the myriads of Ephraim ( a reference to and blessing of Joshua who came from Ephraim to over-come enemies ) and Manasseh ( a reference to and blessing of Gideon who came from Manasseh , to overcome the attacking Midyanites in his day ) . For Zevulun and Yissachar , Moshe continues the idea of Yaakov in Blessing these two Tribes , where Zevulun will work and assist financially Issachar , while Issachar studies Torah , where the verse refers to " in your tents " and seeing as Zevulun toils for Issachar , so does Issachar study for Zevulun thus both attain credit for each other , though Zevulun must still make time to study Torah . This is also hinted at in Yissachar's name which contains the words ' Yesh Shachar , ' which means ' Have his pay ' where his Kavod of Studying , is in part also paid to Zevulun . Reference to " the riches of the sea " refers to Zevulun , whose Blessings Of wealth was to do with his portions of Israel by the Sea and his Sea Trade . Gad , by Moshe was Blessed with strength , for it is the Tribe of Gad , who defends his fellow Tribes in War and Battles . The reference is made here to choosing the " lawgivers plot , " which is a reference to choosing the territory in which they knew that Moshe would be interred . The Tribe of Dan , was blessed by Moshe similar to how Yaakov blessed this Tribe , also for strength in battle and here , we also find a hint to Shimshon Samson who , like a lion cub , leaping forth at our enemies , who would descend from this Tribe . Moshe blesses the Tribe of Naphtali with fertile land , in response also to this Tribe's love of and study of Torah . The Tribe of Asher , is then blessed by Moshe , who refers to the same blessing to them as Yaakov gave and reference is made to " and dip his feet in oil , " which refers to the abundance of olive trees and olive oil in Asher's territory . Moshe then makes blessings to the Nation as a whole , blessing Israel for security and Blessings of abundance and that the " Heavens shall drip with dew , " also a reference to Torah Beauty And HaShem's Wisdom . Moshe Asks That HaShem Always Be With us Jews , for Fortunate are we , Israel , that HaShem Delivers us , shields us and protects us from our foes . Moshe then concludes his Blessing of the Children of Israel . Moshe then ascends Mount Nebo And HaShem Shows him the entire Land , more than a human can see and grasp , in all directions in the Land and the future too , Telling him , " This is the Land which I swore to Abraham , to Isaac and to Jacob . " Moshe saw visions of the Land into the future and Moshe saw the full extent of the Land , beyond the sight of a human being , seeing the entire Land from different Physical and Spiritual Perspectives . Moshe was given the view of the Land , beyond what man can see . Moshe , in viewing the Land , was thus putting his blessing upon the Land and upon our people Israel , even into future generations . HaShem Told Gavriel the Angel To go down and take Moshe's Soul . But Gavriel could not . HaShem Then Sent the Angel Michael To go down and take Moshe's soul , but Michael was also unable to . HaShem Then Sent the Angel Samael To take Moshe's soul and when Samael came down , he was powerless to take Moshe's soul . This shows that because Moshe overcame Samael , Moshe gave us the power to do the same , in defeating Amalek , whose Angel is Samael , the same Angel that tempted Chava in Gan Eiden . Even Samael , had to admit that no Angel can take Moshe's soul . Only HaShem Himself Can . And So , HaShem Came Down And Drew Moshe's Very Holy Soul Up To Him , With A Holy Divine Kiss . Moshe passed away exactly on the date he was born , on the 7th of Adar 2488 , at 120 years of age and his wisdom and faculties were still sharp and his vigour not diminished . HaShem with the Angel Zagzael / Zagzagel ( Metatron , the Angel Closest To HaShem , The Angel Of Torah , who spoke to Avraham at the Akeidah , who taught Moshe Torah , who was the Angel That HaShem Put to lead us in the Wilderness ) , with the Angel Michael ( and Gavriel ) in attendance , buried Moshe . But it is hidden . We do know that the place of Moshe's burial , was in the vicinity of the place where the Children of Israel were enticed after the idol baal peor , with the midyanitess women . When they committed the Aveirahs in this incident , a negative angel force was made , that would come up every year on the day of the happening of the enticement , to accuse the people . But while Moshe was still alive , his holiness would keep this being at bay . It was for this reason , that Moshe was laid to rest at this very spot , for his burial place , would still hold a power over this accusing Angel . HaShem Assured Moshe That At The End Of Days , Moshe will rise up and lead the generation of the Wilderness into Eretz Yisrael . So even in passing , Moshe still cares for his people , even at a time of and after his passing . The Children of Israel Bewailed Moshe for Thirty days . HaShem Filled Joshua Yehoshuah With The Spirit Of Wisdom , but Joshua felt too humble and sad to be ready to take his position as leader And HaShem Came To him And Asked , " Does he feel more sad Than HaShem Himself At the passing of Moshe , for who now will speak up for the people when they do wrong . " Yehoshuah took up his position as leader , but also very humbly . There was never ever a Prophet in Israel like Moshe , who HaShem Knew Face To Face , Where HaShem Would Speak To Moshe In Clear Vision , where other prophets had unclear visions Of The Almighty . HaShem , For A Time , Had Made Moshe's Tent , The " Tent of Meeting " And Spoke To Moshe As A Very Close Friend . HaShem Had Sent Moshe To perform many signs and wonders in Egypt and in the Wilderness before all Israel . So Ends This Last Parsha Of HaShem's Holy Torah . Chazak Chazak Vanitchazeik Be strong Be Strong And May We Be Strengthened to continue our Holy Torah Learning and growing Closer , Ever Closer To HaShem . So much did our beloved Moshe do for us . If it was not for Moshe , HaShem May Not Have Forgiven us . We all owe Moshe our very lives . It was Moshe Whom HaShem Chose , To Give us His Holy Torah , Through Moshe . So many times did Moshe pray for us . Yet we did not pray at the time for Moshe , to be excused for the action that we caused him , to not be able to enter the Holy Land , that Moshe so dearly with tears , wanted to enter . So many supplications did Moshe make on all our behalf . Yet not one supplication did we make Moshe , after all Moshe did for us . We can still today , remember Moshe in our prayers and say prayers for Moshe . Moshe said many for us . We can still today , go out and do actions of holiness in Moshe's name . We can still today , bring honour and Kavod to Moshe's holy Neshoma , by keeping HaShem's Holy Torah . Pirkei Avos teaches us that if someone leads another to holiness and to keep Torah Laws , that one that led us to keep Torah , also gets credit for the right that we do and what that person teaches us to keep , that he brought us to keep . So just imagine , how much Kavod and Credit , we can all bring to Moshe , by keeping HaShem's Holy Torah For HaShem . HaShem's Holy Torah Was Given Through Moshe , so when we keep It , we also give Kavod and Credit to Moshe too . Sure , we must keep The Holy Torah For HaShem , but we can also remember That It Was Given To us through Moshe and so , we can bring much Kavod and Credit to Moshe too , when we follow his teachings From HaShem . We certainly owe Moshe so much . Let us give back to him for a change . So often did Moshe speak up for each one of us , even for our children still to come . So often did Moshe put himself aside and selflessly care for us . Let us do the same for Moshe . Keep HaShem's Holy Torah For HaShem And Bless HaShem and Moshe . Moshe was our beloved humble and very holy teacher , who reached that Fiftieth Gate of Wisdom when he Returned To HaShem . The Holy Torah , HaShem Offered To the other Nations , but they all rejected It , wanting to know what was in It first . Edom and Amalek , refused It as It Forbids killing . The child of Hagar refused It as It forbids taking without permission and It forbids theft . The children of Moab refused It as It forbids incest . So many Nations refused It . HaShem offered It To them first . Only Then Did HaShem Offer It To us Jews . We did not do as the other Nations did , wanting to know first what was in It . No . We trusted In Faith That It Was From HaShem And Whatever HaShem Wants , Is Right and so we said , " Na'aseh Ve Nishma , " - " We will do and then we will hear , " first we will do , before we ask what is in It , The Holy Torah Of HaShem . And So HaShem Made us His Special Chosen People , for as Avraham did , Avraham chose HaShem , while the other Nations and peoples chose to follow idols . We are the World's teachers Of The Oneness Of G-D . And So HaShem Starts And Finishes His Holy Torah With The Words , " Bereishis Yisrael , " - " The Beginning of Israel , " For The True And Only Right Path To HaShem , Is The Path Of Israel And So HaShem Also Created Creation For Israel And Those Who Follow HaShem Faithfully , Following Only HaShem And So Does Torah Start And Finish With The Words , " Bereishis " and " Yisrael . " It is for a way of living That Is Israel , With It's Oneness Of G-D And Holy Torah Following Laws , That Creation Was Created , On The Pillar And Basis On Which Creation Continues To Stand . So was Torah Written two thousand years before Creation and as our Rabbonim say , HaShem Looked Into the Torah And Created the World , For The Holy Torah Is The Very Plan And Blueprint On Which Creation Stands And So Must Always Be Kept As HaShem Instructs us To Keep It , For Only The Path Of Holy Torah , Will Lead us Home To HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . For our Ever Beloved HaShem , I Wish You HaShem A Most Beautiful And Holy Blessed Shabbos Kodesh And Shemini Atzeret And Simchat Torah With Ever And Forever Deepest Love and to all my fellow Jews , a Most Beautiful and Holy Blessed Shabbos Kodesh and Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah with love . Shabbos Succot : This Shabbos Is Shabbos Succos . Succos is one of the three Pilgrim Festivals that we Jews celebrate throughout the year , the other two Pilgrim Festivals being Pesach and Shavuot . Pesach is a reminder Of HaShem Blessing us With Freedom From Egyptian bondage And It Was On Shavuot That we Received The Ten Commandments From Beloved HaShem And HaShem Revealed Himself To our entire nation of Jews , past , present and future . But with regards to Succot , no specific historical event took place on this day , Yet HaShem Blesses us With This Very Holy Yom Tov , in which we dwell in our Succahs and take the Holy Species of the Lulav and Etrog and wave the Arba Minim With Blessings From HaShem . So why is This Yom Tov So Special ? The First Place that we Jews came to after leaving Egypt and Raamses , was a place called Succot . So that place was the start of our journey after all the years of bondage . It Was In This Place That HaShem Surrounded our people With HaShem's Holy Clouds Of Glory And So It Was In This Place That HaShem Brought us Up Within His Holy Loving Arms And Surrounded us With His Love From All Sides And From Above And Below . Our Rabbis tell us that the Well of Miryam was Given To us By HaShem in honour of Miryam and The Mannah , in honour of Moshe and The Clouds Of Glory That Surrounded The Camp of the Children of Israel , in honour of Aharon . It was when Aharon passed on , That The Clouds Of Glory Lifted and Amalek attacked us . So HaShem , Throughout All The Years Of our travels in the Wilderness , Surrounded us With His Clouds Of Glory . Nothing could penetrate these Clouds . No enemy's arrow could ever come through them . This Is How HaShem Would Protect us today , if only all our people would keep HaShem's Commandments And HaShem's Holy Torah . So HaShem Commands us That during this Yom Tov and its intermediate days of Chol Ha 'Moed , we are to dwell in the Succah . We are to leave our permanent dwelling homes and as we did then in the Wilderness , we are to put our full Trust and Faith In our Beloved HaShem and leave the physical security of our homes and Trust in full Faith That HaShem Protects us from all things around us as we at this time , put ourselves totally In HaShem's Loving Care . Just As The Clouds Of Glory From HaShem Covered us On All Sides , so do we surround ourselves on all sides with the Succah . Just as The Clouds Of Glory From HaShem Protected us From Above And Below , so do we make a Schach roof above us , where the stars can be partly visible , reminding us how we are to Trust HaShem To Watch Over us when we are surrounded by the outside elements . So as Pesach and Shavuot have a historical touch to them among other reasons , so does Succot too , reminding us Of The Place Where HaShem Surrounded us With His Loving Protection . Just As It Will Be From HaShem In Moshiach's Time . Just As It Was In Gan Eiden , The Way The World Was Meant To Be . Just as we can make it , in our own lives , if only we just put our full Trust and Faith In HaShem . On Succos , we take the Four Species , the Arba Minim and just like the six directions That HaShem Gave us His Protection from , With HaShem's Clouds Of Glory , so do we bring the Four Species together , the Lulav and Etrog and wave them in these very six directions . A Beautiful Fulfilment Of The Six Directions That HaShem Surrounded us From With HaShem's Clouds Of Glory That HaShem Gave us , After we left Egypt Mitzrayim , At The First Place that we came to , Succot . The very name of Egypt in Hebrew is Mitzrayim , which means borders . Why was this place called 'borders ? ' When the Jews came to Egypt , with Yaakov and seventy souls of his family , HaShem Blessed us And we multiplied . When Pharaoh put us to slavery , Bilaam , his advisor , who was actually the grandson of Lavan who deceived Yaakov many times , this Bilaam , put a negative spiritual curse border around Egypt , that was to prevent the Jews from leaving and Egypt itself was very strict about anyone leaving its borders , ( this was still in existence when Yosef had first come to Egypt and couldn't leave ) and so , diametrically opposed to this evil idea and scheme of Pharaoh and Bilaam in Egypt , When HaShem Gave us our Freedom from Egypt , HaShem was Also Breaking this evil curse around Egypt's borders and so the only border we as Jews should ever have , Is HaShem's Love and Care and so , HaShem's Clouds Of Glory Surrounded us In Love And Protection . The Lulav and Etrog , The Four Species , have so many beautiful connotations . Our Rabbonim teach us that each part of the Four Species represents the four different types of Jews . The beautiful smelling Etrog ( by some opinions thought to be the Fruit that Chava ate in Gan Eiden ) that has taste and sweet smell , represents the Jew who has both Torah Mitzvos and Good Deeds . The Lulav Branch , that has fruit of taste , but no smell , represents the Jew , who has Torah Mitzvos , but lacks in Good Deeds . The Myrtle Branch Hadas , that has a sweet smell , but no taste , represents the Jew , that lacks Torah Mitzvos , but has Good Deeds and the Aravos Willow Branches , that has no taste and also no sweet smell , represents the Jew that lacks Torah Mitzvos and also lacks Good Deeds . So when we bring these Four Species together , they all become like one and cover and make up for the other , what the one is lacking , so we help each other . Also , we are told that The Four Species also stand for our Patriarchs and Yosef . When Moshiach comes , we Jews will be at Peace with all and with each other . In fact , one of the ways to bring Moshiach , is for all our fellow Jews to come together as one . We learn this when Yaakov was about to pass away , Yaakov was about to tell his sons what will come to pass at the End of Days and before Yaakov was about to do this , Yaakov says , " Gather Together / Assemble yourselves and I will tell you what will befall you in the End of Days . " ( Bereishis 49:1 ) . So we learn here that if we come together as one people and nation of Jews in peace , we can bring on The End Of Days . Here , Yaakov was about to reveal the time of The End Of Days , which we are not to know till it comes And So , HaShem Sent a Malach Angel , to stop Yaakov revealing it . So here we have a hint to how to bring Moshiach and that is that all our fellow Jews are to come together as one nation and so on Succot , we take the Arba Minin , The Four Species and bring them together as one And Praise HaShem and wave them in all the Six Directions That HaShem Covered us From With HaShem's Holy Clouds Of Glory . So Succot is not just a Yom Tov of past happenings and remembrances , but in fact Succot is a Yom Tov of Sweet Moshiach , for with us coming together as one , just as we do with The Four Species and with putting our Trust and Faith In HaShem and dwelling in a Succah as we did With HaShem's Clouds Of Glory and with the connotation of Rain that this Holy Yom Tov From HaShem Is Blessed with , for we take willow branches that grow by water and we used to have the holy ceremony of the Water Drawing , which was called Nisuch Hamayim Simchat Beit HaSho'eivah ( The Biblical and Historical Background of Jewish Customs and Ceremonies by Abraham P . Bloch ) , the Pouring of Water on the Altar and the festivities around this Holy Yom Tov in the rain coming season , we certainly can see that this Holy Tom Tov is certainly one of a future Moshiach's time holiness , Where HaShem Will Rain Many Blessings Down on His World . The very word ' Succot ' means ' Shade , ' Where HaShem Shields us And Protects us From the harsh physical elements that can harm us . This Is Exactly What Following HaShem's Torah Leads To , For HaShem's Torah Is our Succah In this World That If Kept , Protects us From the physical dangers and negativities that come about , when we Chas Ve Shalom stray From HaShem , Chas Ve Shalom . Such Protection From HaShem , Is Total Protection , just as nothing and no harm could penetrate HaShem's Clouds Of Glory . Such Following Of HaShem , as One , To The One And Only HaShem , Certainly Will Lead To The End Of Days , Where Sweet Holy Secrets Will Be Revealed . This too , is within the word ' Succot , ' for within this word ' Succot , ' we have the words ' Sodi Kotel , ' ( Zilberman Dictionary ) which means ' Wall of Secret , ' For So Many Beautiful Holy Secrets Will Be Revealed By HaShem In Moshiach's Time And At The End Of Days . When Adam Ve Chavah were forced out of Gan Eiden , That Personal Closeness With HaShem , was not the same , for secret texts tell us that HaShem Put A Spiritual Wall Barrier Between Himself And them , That Will Only Come Down At The End Of Days . This Spiritual Wall , Is Like A Spiritual Netting , So That The Clarity That Was Before , Is Not The Same , Where Spiritual Things Are Concerned . So we do not view things as clearly as we did once . This Clarity Will Only Return In Moshiach's Time , At The End Of Days . This Wall Will Be Removed And Sweet And Holy Secrets Will Again Be Revealed By HaShem . We Will Again Be Given That Closeness That Adam and Chavah Had In Gan Eiden . This Wall , Will Thus Be Removed And HaShem Will Show us His Closeness And Holy Beautiful Secrets Of Love And Knowledge that we so await . So the very fact that the words ' Wall of Secrets , ' is within the word ' Succot , ' surely shows us That This Very Holy Festival , Is most definitely A Festival Of The Sweet Future Coming Of HaShem And HaShem's Sending of Moshiach and The End Of Days With HaShem and when we take our Lulav and Etrog and wave them in the Six Directions , we call on The Heavenly Waters On High In Shamayim Heaven and bring them to join the Waters below and so , bring this Holy Creation To The Blessed Oneness Of HaShem HaKadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . Our Parsha this Shabbos between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur is Parashas Haazinu . The Shabbos before Yom Kippur is called Shabbat Shuvah and reminds us that we have sinned and are to do Teshuvah ( ' Shuvah ' ) - Return To HaShem . The Haftorah contains the same idea of Teshuvah return To HaShem and is found in Hosea 14 : 2 - 10 ; Joel 2 : 11 - 27 and Micah 7 : 18 - 20 . HaShem Instructed Moshe To Write This Song Of Haazinu , to remind our Jewish people that when we stray From HaShem , the punishment that comes upon us is due to our own wrong - doing . We are to change our wrongful ways and return In Faithfulness To HaShem . Seeing that Moshe knew his time to return To HaShem was near , HaShem Instructed him To mention witnesses that will be there long after Moshe's present time and so , Moshe calls to Heaven and Earth to stand as witnessed to these words , for so says Moshe , " Haazinu HaShamayim Va'adabeira V'Tishma Ha'Aretz Imrei Fi , " - " Give ear , O Heavens , and I will speak ; and may the Earth hear the words of my mouth . " What a thing for a man to tell the Heaven and the Earth to stand and " Hear . " Only HaShem Commands His Creations , but Moshe on Har Sinai , had earned their respect when he silenced the Malachim Angels of Heaven And Earth , when they approached Moshe to try and dissuade him from bringing down to us HaShem's Torah and Moshe's words of persuasion were such that he persuaded them of how Torah Was Written By HaShem , For humans to keep and how the Torah Is Israel's Guide To HaShem and so these Malachim Angels acceded to Moshe and so Heaven and Earth would be the perfect witnesses to watch over that we keep HaShem's Holy Torah and Heaven and Earth would be HaShem's Tools of either Reward or Punishment , if we keep The Holy Torah or Chas Ve Shalom , if we do not . So Moshe said the perfect thing , in starting this song with Heaven and Earth . We are told that there will be Ten Holy Songs Shira before The End Of Days . Adam wrote the first one in Gan Eiden , when he composed the Psalm ' Mizmor Shir Leyom HaShabbat , " for the Sabbath day . The Second Shira was sang at the Yam Suf by Moshe and the Children of Israel , after HaShem Saved our Jewish People . The Third Shira , was sung in praise of the Well of Miryam. ( In Parashas Chukas ) . The Fourth Shira was this very Parsha Shira of Haazinu . The Fifth Shira was sung by Yehoshuah Joshua in Givon , when he fought the Emorites And HaShem Commanded the Sun to stop in the sky . The Sixth Shira was by Devorah and Barak , When HaShem Delivered their enemies into their hands , which also included Sisera , the Canaanite general ( Shoftim 5 ) . The Seventh Shira , was sung by Chana , When HaShem Gave her Shmuel , after being childless for many years ( Shmuel 2 ) . The Eighth Shira was composed by Dovid Ha Melech at the end of his life , In Thanks To HaShem For Saving him So Many Times From his enemies ( II Shmuel 22 ) . The Ninth Shira was written by Shlomo Ha Melech which was the well known ' Shir Ha Shirim . ' The Tenth and final Shir will be sung by the Jewish people When HaShem Redeems us from the present exile . ( Midrash Says - Devarim - Rabbi M . Weissman ) . We note that all the first nine Songs are called by the feminine gender ' Shira ' but the last Tenth one is called by the masculine ' Shir ' for it says in Yeshayahu Isaiah 26 : 1 , " On that day shall this Shir be sung in the land of Yehuda . " What A Sweet Way HaShem Gave us to know when the True Moshiach finally comes. ( For no one may be called Moshiach , till The Final Days When HaShem's Moshiach comes ( Yechezkel 34 , which must be before the Third Temple ) , for this last Shir , will be publicly known and sung only at the Time of Moshiach's Arrival and only then will the one who is true Moshiach , be able to be called Moshiach , not before . This is a secret sweetness of knowing the True Moshiach , for then the final Tenth Shir will be sung , where the number ' Ten ' will signify The Coming Of The End Of Days , Completing Creation That HaShem Started With Ten Pronouncements From HaShem , In Creating Creation And Bringing us To The End Of Days With HaShem's Revelation , where we will remember clearly HaShem's Revelation To the Jewish people At Har Sinai , Where HaShem Revealed To us , HaShem's Ten Commandments . May The End Of Days Come Soon In our days and may we all come To Meet HaShem when we Jews finally sing this one and only Tenth Shir With HaShem . Moshe asks that his teaching drop like rain , so that it will penetrate within us and that his utterance flow like dew , so that it may gently be with us always , being the life-giving nourishment , that water is to nature . Moshe asks , that when he calls out HaShem's Name , greatness is to be ascribed To HaShem , which teaches us the power of a Brocha ( and the Commandment of saying Brachot ) and of the word " Amein , " for when someone says a Brocha , the one hearing it , must say ' Amein , ' which is also a reiteration Of HaShem's Name , for the letters of ' Amein , ' spell out the words ' El Melech Ne'eman , ' - ' G-D , Faithful King ' ( which is also added to the start of the Shema when praying alone the full Shema ) . HaShem Is Our Rock , as Moshe teaches , Perfect Is HaShem In All That HaShem Does And In HaShem's Every Judgement , even though we may not always understand . G-D Knows All . G-D Is Always Righteous And Fair . We are the blemished ones . Moshe warns that after his passing , when we grow in abundance in the Land , we will do wrong . Moshe Tells us To Remember HaShem , our Master . Moshe Reminds us here , That It Is HaShem Who set the borders of all peoples . It Is HaShem Who Set the borders of the other nations , according to the The Children of Israel . We see this in the fact that there are the 70 Nations and when Yaakov came to Mitzrayim , 70 souls are counted that started Yaakov's family of Jews . Moshe then tells us That HaShem's Portion Is HaShem's Jewish people , the children of Jacob , who became HaShem's Covenanted People , " in a desert land and howling wilderness , " wherein is Har Sinai , when we became HaShem's Covenanted People , To Spread HaShem's Oneness and Light To All . Moshe Compares HaShem's Care Of us Jews , to an Eagle with its young . This is a beautiful analogy , for the Eagle is unlike any other bird , for when it flies with it's young , it puts its young on its back , thereby facing the Earth and dangers there with it's own stomach , thus shielding its young from the arrows of man . So Does HaShem Shield us , HaSherm's Chosen People Of Israel . Chosen To Teach HaShem's Oneness To All . HaShem Guides us With His Holy Torah True , For Torah Is HaShem's Lighted Pathway To HaShem , the milk and honey Of Torah . We Jews will , in Moshiach's time , be called " Yeshurun , " which has the word ' Yashar ' in it , which means ' straight . ' HaShem , In This Song written by Moshe From HaShem , Then Continues Telling How we will rebel against HaShem And His Torah And Commandments . How some of our people will sadly follow the beliefs of the other nations , that will lead those who follow them , astray . How some will offer to demons while others will follow falsely deified idols and other beliefs , even new ones of beliefs in following any form of deity-ship , other Than G-D Alone And His Oneness . For the Nations seek to make physical , their beliefs and follow that which has a physical reference , whether it be wood , stone or human . Such things are an abomination To HaShem , Who Is Not a physical being And Never Will Be And Can Never Be Contained in a physical human that is born , For G-D Alone Creates all humans and all things And G-D Alone Is One And Beyond Any Physicality And Cannot Ever Be Contained in anything That HaShem Creates ( Numbers 23 : 19 and Hosea 11: 9 , where HaShem Is The One And Only Savior Hosea 13 : 4 ) . HaShem Will Then Hide His Countenance From us So As Not To Be Hurt And Also So As Not To Take full cognizance of our sins of idol-worship and other sins , For Then HaShem Would Be Fully Concentrated On our total Punishment . HaShem Says , " My arrows shall I use up against them . " This sounds very final , but in fact this is actually also a positive reference , For If HaShem Uses Up All His Arrows Against us and we are still there , it means That HaShem Will Certainly Limit our Punishment and we will still survive By HaShem's Caring And Compassionate Mercy . HaShem Will Punish all those that have turned away from His Commandments , whether the young man , or the virgin who then cohabits with that which she claims is other - worldly from whom a young man comes , HaShem Will punish them , from the suckling youth , to the elderly , who do wrong . HaShem Says That He Will Scatter them . We are to be a Nation of counsel and discernment and be wise . HaShem Will Cause our enemies to see our disobedience . This Song Of Haazinu , will stand up and show why these things come upon us , That It Comes From HaShem , our Rock . Says The Song , Even our offerings and fruits , we will sadly not give correctly as offerings , but will give them with idol worship , which is exactly what happened in the time of the Kings . How Prophetic Is This Song Of Haazinu From HaShem Through Moshe . Just As HaShem Prophecies our Punishment , So Does HaShem Prophecy our Redemption Here In This Shira Of Haazinu . So just as the one has come true in history , so will the other , including As Is Mentioned Here In The Shira Of Haazinu , The Punishment And Destruction At The End Of Days , of all those through history who have in any way hurt Jews through time . HaShem Directly Says Here In Verse 39 , " See , now , that I , I am He - and no god is with Me . I put to death and I bring life , I struck down and I will heal , and there is no rescuer from My Hand . " How Clear Does HaShem Put It , Saying That there is no other god , no other saviour with HaShem , For HaShem Is Alone , no other parts To Him , no son part , no holy spirit part as a second part . HaShem Is One . Only HaShem Brings Life And Death . Only HaShem Heals And Only HaShem Rescues . There is no parts with G-D . G-D Is Not Physical And G-D Is One And Always Will Be One And Will Never Ever Be , At Any Time , Anything Else But One . HaShem Will Then Take Vengeance On all those who have gone to other deities and who followed other parts to deify them , For HaShem Said , ' I am One . ' HaShem Then Clearly States , " O nations - sing the praises of His people ( the Jews as mentioned earlier in this Song ) , For He ( HaShem ) Will Avenge ( against the nations that hurt the Jews through time ) the blood of His Servants ( the Jews - who keep to and follow only His Oneness and Do Not stray to other pagan beliefs ) ; He ( HaShem ) Will Bring Retribution Upon His foes ( those nations who hurt His Jewish people ) And He will appease His Land ( Israel - removing all traces of idol worship and anything that goes against HaShem's Oneness And Holy Torah ) and His people ( The Jews ) . " So ends the Shira of Haazinu . Moshe came with Hoshea ( Joshua ) and spoke All The Words Of This Shira to the people , to their ears that they might hear within . Moshe told them to apply their hearts to all the words that he testified to them that last day of his life then and they are to instruct their children to be careful to perform all the words of this Torah , for it is their very life and the prolonging of their very days on the Land which they go over the Jordan to possess it . It was On That Very Day , That HaShem Told Moshe To ascend the Mountain of Abarim Mount Nebo , in the Land of Moab , before Jericho and see the Land of Canaan That HaShem Gives To the Children of Israel as an inheritance . And then will Moshe pass away on this Mountain , with a Divine Kiss of Love , just as Aharon his brother did . Moshe again asked to be let into the Land , But HaShem Said ' No , ' again reminding Moshe of his trespass against HaShem among the Children of Israel at the waters of Meribath - kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin , because Moshe did not sanctify HaShem among the Children of Israel . HaShem Told Moshe that he would only see the Land from a distance , but shall not enter there into the Land That HaShem Gives To the Children of Israel . HaShem Told Moshe , that in Moshiach's Time , Moshe would then rise and lead the generation of the Wilderness , into The Land Then . So ends This Holy Parsha . Isn't it interesting that this Shira begins with the word " Haazinu , " - " Give Ear . " Giving Ear , means listening wholeheartedly . What does listening wholeheartedly mean ? It means listening with ones all .It starts at the Ear and then goes throughout one's whole being coming deep into one's Soul , Straight From HaShem . Listening Only To HaShem , means that we must not listen to or go and follow anything else . Anything that humans do that is against HaShem's Oneness , is totally wrong . Giving one's " Ear " To HaShem , Giving one's total obedience Only To HaShem's Laws , closing off one's Ear , from listening to anything else , For Only HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah , Are True . If we listen closely , To Only HaShem and call on His Name Only and denounce all other beliefs , then will we Be Properly Tuned Into HaShem's Creation Of Heaven And Earth . HaShem Gave us two ears , so why is one Ear mentioned ? That is possibly because we must keep an Ear toward the one witness Shamayim Heaven and also keep an Ear ( the other Ear ) toward Eretz Earth and work to make them One , by making Earth a place That Heaven can dwell . This means using our body and soul to work toward making every moment on Earth , A Holy Moment Of Obedience To HaShem And HaShem's Torah , Which Is How Shamayim Heaven Is , An Obedience To HaShem At All Times and then , the two witnesses of Shamayim Heaven and Eretz Earth , Can Become One . This is one of the reasons we are here , To Work For HaShem , Keeping HaShem's Creation Holy . When we do this , it will be as though we are listening with one single " Ear " and one purpose and that purpose , Is HaShem . If we do that , then the secret of the Word " Haazinu " - " Give Ear , " will then show itself , for this word " Haazinu " contains the words " HaShem Az Yanu , " Which Means " HaShem Will Then Be With Us " This is what we are also here for , To Bring HaShem's Oneness Into Everything . When we " Haazinu , " - " Give our Ear " To HaShem And HaShem's Oneness And Follow Only HaShem And HaShem's Torah Commandments and when we remove all forms of idolatry , thus believing and following HaShem Only , Then HaShem Will Be With us And HaShem's Creation Will Then Reach It's Intended Goal At The End Of Days , With HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Ever Most Eternally And Forever Beloved HaShem With Sweetest And Most Beautiful Special Love , A Most Special And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With Deepest Love and to all my fellow Jews , A Most Special and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love and a Meaningful Fast . Shabbos Rosh HaShanah : This Shabbos Is Rosh HaShanah And At The Time Of Creation , the day after this day , Was The First Shabbos , That Was To Be Eternal . It Was On This Date And Day , The First Of Tishrei Rosh HaShanah , That HaShem Created Adam . First HaShem Made the animals , the living creatures and the creeping thing , each according to its kind . Thus HaShem Does Not Want us to mix species , for they are perfect As HaShem Made them . By Now , HaShem Had Made the Malachim , the Angels And Turned To Them And Gave them Instructions That they were to fetch and carry the souls of Human beings and Living Things to and from where they are kept ( and sometimes they are stored in the Gaf , As It Is Called ) and these Malachim Angels were to be the Messengers and Carriers for these souls That HaShem Would Put Into man , When HaShem Himself Breathed Into Adam , Life . It would be , within the human , to have a Spark of HaShem Within . Thus , Adam would have a Spiritual Essence Neshoma within him , " Betzalmeinu Kidmuteinu , " - " in Our Image , after Our Likeness , " That Spiritual Essence , that is our Soul , that is Spiritual , like the Malachim , From HaShem . So this Adam would , by his own choices , if he chooses to listen totally To HaShem , would then be able to reach great Spiritual Heights , in coming Closer To HaShem . And so , would this Creation , Adam and his Progeny be able to " rule over the fish of the sea , the birds of the sky and over the animal , the whole Earth and every creeping thing that creeps upon the Earth . " For by the very choice and ability that we humans have , unlike the animals , we can choose to do the Good and the Holy , this choice That Is Given To us By HaShem , allows us to be able to grow Spiritually and make our Physicalities holier . So HaShem Created humans - man and woman - Adam Ve Chava on this day of Rosh HaShanah . HaShem On His Own As The One And Only True G-D And Creator , Created Adam Ha Rishon On This Day Of Rosh HaShanah , As HaShem Tells us In His Holy Torah , " So G-D Created Man in His Image , in the image of G-D He Created him , male and female He created them . " Within this first being That HaShem Created , was male and female side by side , as one together-joined soul-mate . It was Adam who when he saw how the other animals were separate physically from their partners , that he too desired to be separate And So HaShem , Who Placed Adam in Gan Eiden , Having Made him from the dust of all the World and his head from the dust of the Holy Land separated him from Chava and they became separate beings . HaShem Commanded him to Work the Garden and Guard it , which meant toil deeply , into Holy Learning , which is what helped things grow at the time in this Holy Place and to Guard it , from anything negative that might wish to enter , which referred to Samael who did enter and tempted Chava in the Garden . HaShem Commanded That of every tree in the Garden , he may freely eat ( for at the time , HaShem commanded to eat only vegetables and fruit ) , but of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad , " you must not eat thereof ; for on the day you eat of it , " Mot Tamut " you shall surely die . " Which meant that such a disobedience To G-D , would bring for man , that he will die and die , thus death would be brought into the World . Such is the consequence of Sin , for to sin , has within it as a result , a touch of death within it , for it is an action against HaShem's Wish , which takes us further and further From The Closeness Of HaShem . So HaShem , at the request of Adam to be separate from Chava , Cast a deep sleep upon him and " Then HaShem G-D Fashioned the side that He Had Taken from the man , into a woman , and He Brought her to the man , and as Adam said about her that she is now , " bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh . " They were both " Arumim " - " Naked " , but were not ashamed , for at that time , they were not taken over by physical Yetzer Horah desires of impurity . Samael the Malach , looked for a creature that was cunning ( also the Hebrew word " Arum " like the word for ' Naked ' - ' Arumim , ' but it's negative ) beyond any beast of the field That HaShem G-D had made . By " cunning , " which has the same Hebrew root letters as the word " Naked " this meant that he had the ability , to see a person's nakedness , not necessarily in a physical way , but was able to see within a person , to know their thoughts and what would be their weakness or temptation or need or what would fulfil them and so he approached the woman and questioned her , for she was nearer the Tree in wonder . The snake knew her need for knowledge and her wanting to know more and so he approached her and appealed to her inner need to know more . He approached her with a question , " Did perhaps , G-D say : ' You shall not eat of any tree of the garden ? " And she responded , " Of the fruit of any tree of the garden we may eat . Of the fruit of the tree which is in the centre of the garden G-D has said : ' You shall neither eat of it nor touch it , lest you die . ' " So she added to the Commandment Of HaShem , For HaShem Only Forbade them to eat of it . There was no Commandment Given By HaShem not to touch it and so , As HaShem later In The Holy Torah Warns us never to add to or subtract from His Commandments , by her own words she trapped herself , by the cunning of Samael within the snake , for he then pushed her physically against the tree and she did not die , as he continued to speak to her . In this action of his pushing her against the Tree , he was actually forcing himself upon her and so , he left an essence of his negativity within one of her yet-unborn children - Kayin and so when she named him , referred to this offspring , as having made him with a divine being - a hint to her rape . This Kayin's progeny , came down in Naamah ( who was actually a holy woman ) and it was this Naamah , who was the wife of Noach and thus the Mother and Father of all living , including us , you and me and us all . Thus within us all , is this strong Yetzer Horah , that we must fight and overcome , an action that started out with Adam Ve Chava disobeying HaShem , for once Chava had slipped in adding more Than HaShem Had Commanded them , by saying that she may neither eat of it nor touch it and when she was forced against the tree and thus touched it and nothing yet had happened to her , seeing as she had already committed the first act of disobedience , the second act was then easier to commit , for in seeing how nothing happened when she touched the Tree , she then reached her hand up and took of its fruit and then she ate for she had a need to know more and as the snake put it , It would give her wisdom and it had already caught her eyes as a delight , so she took from the tree and ate and gave also to her husband and he ate and so did the Yetzer Horah enter into them and they then realized that they were naked , for Physical negative desire had been awakened and so they covered themselves with a fig leaf . They Heard The Sound Of HaShem G-D Manifesting Himself In The Garden and they hid . HaShem , Who Is All - Knowing and All - Seeing , Knew Exactly where they were , Yet Gave them the opportunity to own up When He Said " Ayeka , " - " Where are you , " which deeply meant that before they had both committed the Aveirah , they were both on a higher level spiritually , but now after they Disobeyed HaShem , they realized that they were now on a lower Spiritual level And So HaShem Was Also Pointing Out To them That though the woman thought she would increase in wisdom , Disobeying HaShem Ended up the opposite way for ' where are they now ' as if to realize that they were no longer on the higher level that they were on before . Both of them , the Man and the Woman kept blaming the next one . The man blamed the woman and he also blamed HaShem by saying the woman " You Gave me , " when it was the man who chose to be separate from the woman and the woman blamed the snake . The snake was the first one in Creation that Loshoned and Slandered HaShem and so , from the mouth of his that spoke against G-D , dust would now be its food and its lying tongue that brought division , would be split , as a reminder to its deceit . The woman was given painful childbirth , which would have been painless had she not Disobeyed HaShem . The man would have toil for food and suffer . And so , Death was decreed . They were banished from Gan Eiden . This all happened just before this day ended . This date was The First Of Tishrei . It was on this Day That HaShem Had Felt So Much Love For His Creation of humans And Where HaShem Had Given So Much Sweet Love In Creating Humans and not a few hours before the end of this day , When HaShem Was Close To His Creation , Adam and Chava sadly disappointed Him . It Was on The First Of Tishrei that this day in Creation took place . It was on this day That HaShem Created humans And HaShem Was Thus Closer To His Creation of humans than on any other day , it was on this Day that we disappointed HaShem . HaShem Tells us In His Holy Torah That On Rosh HaShanah , we are to blow ( the Shofar ) as a remembrance and so , if we take all this into account that I have mentioned here , of what happened on this day And What HaShem Had So Hoped For in us , we can surely understand why this day would be A Remembrance For HaShem , A Remembrance For HaShem's Hopes Of What HaShem Wanted Creation To Be . Taking this into account , we blow the Shofar on Rosh HaShanah ( except if , as it does this year , falls on a Shabbos and so we only blow it this year on the following day on the second day Rosh HaShanah this year ) , which needs to remind us as a remembrance to how much we need to Repent , since the beginning of time And How Merciful HaShem Has Always Been To us , for through time , we have so wronged HaShem And Yet HaShem Still Has Hope For us And HaShem Still Speaks To our Souls . When we Jews were at Har Sinai , the first thing that we heard , was the sound of a Shofar sound waxing louder and louder And Then HaShem's Voice , so this day is also A Reminder Of HaShem's Covenant With us , Made On Har Sinai and also the Ram's Horn of the Akeidah of Yitzchak , where we beg HaShem To Forgive us , as we heartfully fervently pray on Rosh HaShanah . This is certainly A Day Of Remembrance and so , if we pray fervently enough and all our Jewish people from now on , Listen To HaShem , Keeping the Holy Covenant That we Jews all made ( including every Jewish Soul through time that was brought there ) and never again Disobey HaShem's Beautiful Commandments In HaShem's Beautiful Holy Torah , Then HaShem In His Faithful Comforting Forgiveness And Mercy Will Forgive us And Return us , In Remembrance , Back To Gan Eiden , where we will hear The Sound Of The Heavenly Shofar And Come Close To And Be Close To HaShem In Love . So Let us all return To HaShem And HaShem's Commandments . Let us return back To The Path That we were supposed to go on and continue on into The Path That HaShem Wanted us to go into , into the Eternal Shabbos the next day , before the Aveirah happened then , when we would have gone into The Eternal Shabbos the next day . Let us Return In Total Closeness And Love To HaShem Again And Creation Will Then Be At One With It's One And Only True Faithful Creator , HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . Parashas Nitzavim - Vayeilech : - Our Parsha this Shabbos is a Double Parsha of Nitzavim - Vayeilech and the Haftorah is Yeshayahu Isaiah 61 : 10 - 63 : 9 and the Haftorah speaks of the Redemption of Israel , one of the Haftorahs of consolation before Rosh HaShanah . The Sedras start out with Parshas Nitzavim , where Moshe reminds us that we are all standing Before HaShem today , that day , men and women and children and heads of the Tribes and elders and officers and proselytes and also the water drawers , to pass into The Covenant Of HaShem our G-D . Our Rabbonim teach us that this is a renewal of the previous Covenant that was made At Har Sinai And HaShem Blesses us Jews as a people Unto HaShem . This included not only those alive in that day , But HaShem Brought the Neshomas of all Jews through time , past , present and future , to this moment , to enter into this renewed Covenant With HaShem . The " hewers of wood to the drawers of water , " referred to here were Canaanites whom Moshe did not trust with regards to their sincerity and so , did not allow them conversion , but gave them a task still , as hewers of wood and drawers of water . They had pretended to be from a far off land , for they knew those Canaanites were set for destruction and so they pretended to want to join us . This is similar to what happened in Yehoshuah Joshuah's time when the Gibeonites also approached Joshua and tried to deceive him and so Joshuah also gave them the same task as Moshe had done . In Dovid Ha Melech's time , these very Gibeonites demanded the lives of some of Shaul Saul's children , for they felt that they had been affected when Saul had killed the Priests of Nov , for these Priests of Nov used to assist them with food and after what Shaul Saul had done to the Priests of Nov when he was looking for Dovid a famine had then ensued and so , the only thing that would cruelly satisfy their lust for revenge against this action , was to have Saul's family members hanged and only then did the famine stop . Due to the cruelty of the Gibeonites , Dovid Ha Malech stopped the Gibeonite encroachment into our people and completely forbid their conversion . Such cruelty from such cruel people as the Gibeonites , should not be accepted into our Holy Jewish Nation . Moshe then warns strongly against Idolatry and the detestable idol following actions of the nations , even referring to some of the people that were in front of him at the time , That HaShem Let him know of , who were secretly carrying little miniature idols with them . Moshe also warns of The Imprecation From HaShem That HaShem Will Send on that person or persons doing such things . Moshe then tells us how the other nations will ask and be told when they see our punishment , that this punishment will be the result of forsaking the Covenant and of following idolworship . Yet HaShem Will Love us With A Forever Love And Will Never Forsake us And HaShem Will Redeem us In The End , as our Haftorah Teaches . Not just our Haftorah Teaches this , but this Parsha Teaches us this too , For HaShem Then Says That after our punishment , when we are sent into Galus Exile , HaShem Will Take us out from these Nations And HaShem Will Bring us Back From our captivity , For HaShem Will Have Mercy Upon us And HaShem Will Gather us in From all the peoples Where HaShem Scattered us And All The Imprecations That HaShem Mentioned , HaShem Will Then Place Upon our enemies that have hurt us and mocked us and insulted us and tortured and killed us through time . Any person that has ever through time ever hurt a Jew in any way , will then suffer severely the consequences of their evil action against us Jews . None from the Nations will escape HaShem . Then will we Jews hearken To HaShem And To HaShem's Commandments And So Will HaShem Bless us In all our handiwork , In the fruit of the womb , the fruit of the animals and the fruit of the Land . So Will HaShem Return To our fellow Jews and People , when we listen To The Voice Of HaShem our G-D , to observe HaShem's Commandments And HaShem's Decrees That Are Written In This Book Of The Torah , when we will return To HaShem our G-D , with all our heart and all our soul . May It Be Soon In our Days . HaShem Through Moshe Reminds us In This Sedra That HaShem's Commandments Of The Holy Torah Are Not Hidden From us , For HaShem Revealed His Holy Torah To us At Har Sinai , For HaShem Wrote The Holy Torah two thousand years Before Creation And HaShem Waited Until Har Sinai Where HaShem Revealed It With HaShem's Love . The Holy Torah Is Not Distant , But Very Near us , Within our heart and soul , To Do It . The Holy Torah Is Not Anymore Just In Shamayim Heaven , Where It Waited all the years For HaShem To Let It Be brought down To us At Har Sinai , But Is Now And Since Har Sinai , Very Near us , On Earth , For us to keep It . Though If It Was In Shamayim Heaven , we would be obligated to earn our way there , so that we can go up and be At One With The Holy Torah . The Holy Torah Is Not Across the sea only , so that we can wonder how we can go far away to keep It , But If It Was In a distant land , we would be obligated to go as far as far can be , to make an effort to be At One With It . For As HaShem In His Holy Torah Says , " Rather The Matter ( The Torah ) Is very near to you - in your mouth and your heart - to perform It . " So Beautiful Are The Holy Words Of The Holy Torah . HaShem Through Moshe Again Reminds us that to keep The Holy Torah is Life , but not to keep It is death and evil . We are to love HaShem our G-D , to walk In His Ways , to observe His Commandments , His Decrees And His Ordinances , for then will we live and multiply And HaShem Will Bless us , in the Land to which we come to possess it . But if our hearts stray and we do not listen and are led astray ( by foreign Nation's ways ) and we prostrate ourselves to their strange deities and beliefs and serve their deities ( whether objects or deified men or anything else But HaShem or anything but HaShem Alone ) , Chas Ve Shalom , then we will be surely lost ( which happens to a Jew and his or her family and children after him or her , when that Jew sadly strays ) their days will not be lengthened upon the Land That HaShem Gives us . Moshe calls ( seeing that two witnesses are needed ) Heaven and Earth as witnesses , to watch all that we do And Through What HaShem Will Use , To Either Bless us Or Punish us . For By Heaven's Blessings From HaShem , HaShem Can Bless us , or through Earth's Physicalities and necessities of body , HaShem Can Punish us . HaShem Thus Places Before us , Life and death , Blessing and Curse And HaShem So Desperately Wants us to " choose life , so that you will live , you and your offspring - to love HaShem your G-D , to listen to His Voice and to cleave to Him , for He Is your Life and the Length Of your Days , to dwell upon the Land That HaShem Swore To your Fore - Fathers , To Avraham , To Yitzchak and To Yaakov , To Give Them ." So ends this Sedra of Nitzavim . The Sedra of Vayeilech , Starts By Telling us how Moshe finished his Beautiful Talk to us then and told us how he is now One Hundred And Twenty Years Old Today and can no longer go out and come in , " for HaShem Has Said To me , ' You shall not cross this Jordan . ' " HaShem Will Have Yehoshuah Lead us into Canaan , destroying the nations that are before us there , for us to possess this Land of Israel , ours Given By G-D Himself , To The Jews . It is not that Moshe did not have the strength to ' go out and come in , ' For As HaShem Tells us Later In The Holy Torah , that ' his strength was not abated ' but he no longer had Permission By HaShem , to Continue after this point . Moshe had reached the age of a Tzaddik , As HaShem Spoke In The Book Of Bereishis of the Age of a Tzaddik . Moshe summoned Yehoshuah and said for him to be " strong and courageous , " for he will lead the people For HaShem , to the Land That HaShem Swore To Give us and inherit , where Yehoshuah " shall cause them to inherit it , where Yehoshuah will stand with the People and Fight The Wars Of HaShem , to Gain the Land . " Moshe Tells Yehoshuah How HaShem Will Be With him , Walking Before him . Our Rabbonim teach us that Moshe wrote this Torah on his last day and gave it to the Kohanim , the sons of Levi , bearers of the Ark of the Covenant Of HaShem and to all the elders of Israel , for Moshe wrote for each Tribe , a separate copy of The Holy Torah and another one , which he gave to the Kohanim , for safekeeping , that all other copies of The Holy Torah may be compared to his Copy that the Kohanim Copy , for all time , for exactness and Truth . so on Moshe's last day , he wrote thirteen Torahs , one for each Tribe and the one that he gave to the Kohanim for safe-keeping . Moshe Commands that at the end of seven years , just after the time of the Shemittah Year , during the Succos Festival , when all Israel comes to appear before HaShem our G-D , in the vicinity of the Temple , all the people shall be gathered , men , women and small children and the Ger in our cities , to hear and come and learn and fear HaShem our G-D to be careful to perform all the words of This Torah . This was the ' Hakhel , ' the public reading of this book of Devarim , by the King of Israel , to all . Our Rabbis teach That HaShem Also Made A Command To bring the children , not just that they may grow into Torah Observant Jews , but also seeing that Parents would have brought their children along anyway , The Command Would Also Give Parents an opportunity for the very Mitzvah Of Obeying HaShem In The Commandment Of bringing the children . This opportunity for a Mitzvah , that we would do even if not commanded , Shows HaShem's Love For us To Have The Opportunity To Gain This Mitzvah . HaShem Then Told Moshe Of his days drawing near to pass and to summon Yehoshuah and for both of them to stand in the Tent of Meeting , Where HaShem Would Instruct him and so they obeyed . HaShem Appeared In the Tent of Meeting , In A Pillar Of Cloud . HaShem Warned How after Moshe's passing , the people would stray after foreign ways and deities And How HaShem Would Be Angry With us And Conceal Himself From us For A Time and during that time , we would become prey to other nations and be very distressed . May HaShem Come Soon In our days With HaShem's Love . HaShem Tells Moshe To write the Song , which is the Song of Haazinu in the second last Sedra of The Torah . HaShem Then Relates That He Would Bring us To the Land That He swore To Give To our Fore - Fathers , a Land flowing with Milk and Honey Which Also Refers To The Sweetness Of Torah and how we Will Be Blessed With Abundance and sadly forget HaShem and follow and serve foreign ways and deities , provoking HaShem and so will distresses come upon us and how Moshe's Song of Haazinu , will be a testament Of HaShem's Covenant we are to stick to and how sadly not listening To HaShem , Brings us distress . When Moshe finished writing the words of this Torah onto a book , until its conclusion , Moshe commanded the Levites , bearers of the Ark of the Covenant Of HaShem , to take this Book of The Torah and place it at the side of the Ark of the Covenant Of HaShem and it shall be there as a witness . Moshe ends this Sedra by saying , " Moses spoke the words of this song into the ears of the entire congregation of Israel , until their conclusion . " So ends this Sedra Parsha . Our Parshas of " Nitzavim " and " Vayeilech " both speak of Keeping HaShem's Commandments . The Parshas of " Nitzavim " and " Vayeilech " speak of " Standing " and " Going " and put together , HaShem Is Asking us to " Go " from our own ways and " Stand " Before HaShem , Following Only HaShem's Ways . When must we " Go " from our own ways and " Stand " Before HaShem " Following Only His Ways ? At all times , for at all times , the Yetzer Horah tries to get us to " Go " away From HaShem , " but Parashas " Nitzavim " Gives us the helping hint of how to beat the Yetzer Horah that attempts to pull us away from The Right Path and that hint to beat the Yetzer Horah , is to remember that at all times , wherever we are , we are always " Nitzavim " - " Standing " Before HaShem . We may think we are alone , but we are never alone . At All Times , HaShem Is Always There and so at all times , we are " Nitzavim " - " Standing " Before HaShem " and thus we must conduct ourselves with proper obedience To HaShem . When HaShem Said In Parashas " Nitzavim " That we are " Standing " Before Him " Today , " that " Today " is Every Day . For Every Day , we " Stand " Before HaShem and account for ourselves , even though we may not realize it . So in order to " Nitzavim " - " Stand " Before HaShem , we must " Vayeilech " - " Go " out from ourselves and the pull of the Yetzer Horah , for before us at every instant , Stands HaShem , Watching every move that we make and every thought that we have . To HaShem , time is beyond Eternal , where for us time is relative to past , present and future . So From HaShem's Point Of View , When HaShem Reminds us That we are " Nitzavim " - " Standing " Before Him , all those years ago , To HaShem And True Reality , you and me and all of us Jews ( for it said that Jews past , present and future stood then Before HaShem ) , are in reality Standing there Before HaShem , Within That Very Covenant . The Same is with every Festival that we celebrate . In reality , what was the Beauty of the Emotions of that particular Festival's starting Point , Is Happening At every Festival we celebrate even right now in today's time . This could also be a deeper reason for why at Pesach we say that not just our Fore - Fathers , but us as well , are redeemed from slavery , so must we lean at the Seder , as people freed from slavery . To HaShem , Time is a Creation , like all others things in Creation . So when we " Vayeilech " - " Go " out from our own Yetzer Horah and " Nitzavim " Stand " Before HaShem , in those days , in reality , we are still " Standing " Before HaShem Today . As with Har Sinai And HaShem's Revelation , where there too at the time , we were all brought from the past , present and future , to agree to the Covenant Of Torah Law , so is it binding on each one of us today and beyond , For we Were all Brought There By HaShem , To Be A Part Of It , for even today we still Stand at the Foot of Har Sinai , With HaShem Before us , as we hold fast and strong To HaShem , In Faithfulness And Love , to A Holy Covenant That we all entered Into With HaShem , In Obedience And Love . HaShem's Voice Is Never Ending , So When HaShem Speaks , HaShem's Voice Carries Through From The Time Of Creation , Through The Time Of HaShem's Revelation At Har Sinai Till today And Beyond and if we truly listen closely and realize that Spiritually , we are Still With HaShem , Hearing HaShem's Voice At Har Sinai , we can hear HaShem's Voice Reaching us From then , to Within us . When today , we might ask a question on a Torah point and we feel later on an answer coming into our soul , that could also Be HaShem's Voice , Answering our question from Har Sinai , For HaShem Knew Even Then That even generations later , that today we would ask that question And So HaShem In His Love Can Answer us now . HaShem's Voice Is Sweetly Never - Ending and so if we listen closely enough and " Vayeilech " - " Go " out from ourselves and our own wishes and Yetzer Horah and " Vayeilech " - " Go " Only Toward HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah , Then we will hear HaShem Sweetly And Lovingly Close , for at all times , we " Nitzavim " - " Stand " Before our Beloved HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish HaShem With Utmost Eternal And Forever Love , A Most Beautiful And Sweet Shabbos Kodesh With Eternal And Forever Love and to all my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Most Beautiful and Sweet Shabbos Kodesh with love .
