Parashas Yisro

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Yisro, the Sedra that contains the Ten Pronouncements ( The Ten Commandments ) . As many Sedras do, this Sedra starts with a 'Va,' which means 'And,' and thus shows a continuing link with the Sedra before, where HaShem Helped with the defeat of Amalek and this was the final deciding factor for Yisro to become a Ger Tzeddek to Yiddishkeit . Yisro , Moshe's Father-In-Law, had been a priest of Midian, and had tried every religion there was to try, and finally came to the true realization, that only HaShem is G-D , and that only He, Created Creation . This was one of the greatest Kiddush HaShem , for when Yisro converted to Yiddishkeit after trying every religion there was to try, it proved to all nations , that only HaShem is G-D and only His Torah and Tanach is True . It is written in the Sedra in the first verse, how first, he was a priest of Midyan, and then the Father In Law of Moshe , thus Moshe's Neshoma already started to influence him to the truth of HaShem .
Yisro really had tried all the religions and found everything but Yiddishkeit, false and so, he and his family had been ostracized by his fellow Midyanim. Yisr had other names by which he was known, like Reuel, Yeter and others and he was a man of standing, who was an adviser to Pharaoh . Now, Yisro, was coming to Moshe . HaShem So Respects the Jewish Orthodox Convert, who takes on HaShem's Torah , and turns away from falsehood and family and friends who follow the wrong path , that Yisro was honored to have The Ten Commandments, in his Sedra.
Yisro had heard of the Miraculous saving of our people from Egypt Mitzrayim, a place no one gets out from, and this woke Yisro up . When Yisro heard how HaShem Opened the Yam Suf for us ( a Miracle Publicized by the splitting of other waters around the World, for which people asking Bilaam what is this Miracle, got told that HaShem is Splitting the Sea for His People , the same as when they asked Bilaam, when we were receiving the Ten Commandments, Bilaam said that HaShem is Giving His Laws to His people ) , Yisro could not deny, the special place we as Jews had , with HaShem . But at the defeating of Amalek ( an ally of Midyan ) , there was now no doubt , that HaShem Is Truly With us Jews . So Yisro, took Tzipporah and Moshe's two sons Gershom and Eliezer and came to the outside of the Clouds of Glory. He shot an arrow in, and though messages were usually locked out from hurting us, this one, HaShem Permitted , and Yisro's letter fell just before Moshe, who permitted him entry. Moshe told Yisro of The Wonders of HaShem's Saving Miracles for us , and Yisro, after HaShem Permitted him to, telling Moshe to trust Yisro's motives, Yisro became a true Ger Tzeddek . In honor of this, HaShem Allowed a piece of Mannah to drop down at the feast table in front of Yisro .
The following day, Yisro saw how Moshe sat from morning till night judging all the people without a rest and advised Moshe to choose men of accomplishment, G-D fearing people , men of truth , people who despise money , and to appoint leaders of thousands, leaders of hundreds, leaders of fifties and leaders of tens, to judge the people , and the major matters, to be brought to Moshe. Yisro waited for acknowledgment from HaShem that it would be ok by HaShem, and so it was.Moshe listened and Yisro left for his home in peace .
In the Third Month, after leaving Mitzrayim, the Children of Israel , arrived at the Wilderness of Sinai , and encamped opposite the Mountain .
HaShem Gave Instructions on how they were to prepare for HaShem To Come Down To Meet the people . Har Sinai, was chosen , even though other Mountains wanted to be the Mountain on which , HaShem Came Down on , for Har Sinai, was the most humble of mountains, and also , unlike the other Mountains that wanted this position, HaShem Told them that unlike the other Mountains, no idols had been served on pure and humble Har Sinai. .The people had to prepare for the Third Day, on which HaShem Would Come Down. The word ' Sinai,' breaks down to "S'neh," with an added Yud . The word "S'neh," means " Thornbush," for it was on this Mountain, HaShem Appeared to Moshe in the Thornbush.The added Yud, with a Gematrical Value of Ten,refers to the Ten Commandments ( The basis of Laws for our World ) Given on this Mountain. ( Rokeach and also Midrash Says - Shemos - R. Weissman ) . The word "Sinai, " also has in it , the word ' S'in," which refers to a mountain peak as well as the word 'Sanin,' which means " Study and Repeat," for We are to continually study Torah and Repeat our learning with all its interpretations, and repeat it by practicing the Laws. This Mountain had various other names, like 'Kadeish," a reference to its holiness, for on it , HaShem Came Down . HaShem Held the Mountain over our heads, showing the importance to follow the Commandments of HaShem , that they are our very life and future . We , unlike any other nation that was offered HaShem's Torah were the only ones who first said , " We will do and then we will listen , " for we trusted HaShem without having to question the content of His Laws .
On the Third Day, the people were awoken to great thunder and lighting and heavy cloud on the mountain, and the loud sound of the Shofar and Moshe brought the people to meet HaShem, Who Descended in Smoke and Fire, while the Shofar sound got louder and Moshe spoke , and HaShem Answered him With A Voice .
HaShem at first, Gave all the Commandments at once , in one instant, in a way that each person there could understand it the same way, even to the level of each person's understanding, so that each person would have the same comprehension. With it, came the Oral understanding of the Oral Law . A feat, only HaShem Could Perform . Then HaShem Directly Gave the first two Commandments, and it came so powerfully, that the people's souls actually left their bodies. HaShem had to bring them back to life again, with the Dew of Resurrection, that will be used at Techias Ha Meisim, The Resurrection of the Dead, in Moshiach's time . The people begged Moshe to rather relate The Commandments,for they were not on the same level as Moshe, to be able to Stand HaShem's Voice, even at a very soft level . Every Jew was there at the Giving of the Ten Commandments, past present and future, even Jews still to come in generations later, and also those who would become Gairim to Torah Orthodox Yiddishkeit.
The Ten Pronouncements , were given where the first five, were between HaShem and us and the last five , were between people and other people . HaShem Gave us directly these Commandments, Appearing To us To Also Keep The Fear of Him, Forever with us . 
Seeing that HaShem's Voice cannot be contained and halted by anything, His Voice does not reverberate back on coming into contant with a solid object, for It Is Beyond Powerful and nothing can hold it and thus Has no echo . His Voice from that day, Continues To Travel Through the ages , HaShem Being Beyond Eternal, thus , HaShem's Voice Is Still Talking to us from then . 
HaShem also Instructed us not to build an Altar with iron implements. , for iron is used to make weapons and thus detracts from peace and atonement, and an altar, for atonement should be a place to make peace between HaShem and us .The Altar may only be where HaShem Allows it to be built and one is not to ascend HaShem's Altar on steps, for large strides lead to the possibility that a part of the body may be shown Chas Ve Shalom . The Altar must be a place of holiness and the Kohanim used to walk up very slowly , on a ramp. 
So ends our Parsha.
The Haftorah for this Sedra is in Isaiah 6:1 - 7:6 and 9:5-6 , and also refers to A Revelation of HaShem .
The sweet idea, that HaShem Would Put such a momentous occasion , as His Revelation to His Beloved People and a part of His Creation, in the Sedra of Yisro, a Ger Tzeddek, a Convert to Torah Orthodox Judaism, shows HaShem's Love for one who comes to Judaism, in pure and honest faith and motives . HaShem Respects the Faith that a person, would turn from all they wrongly knew, to openly admit the truth that HaShem Truly Is G-D , Creator of Creation . 
Such a person , is very beloved to HaShem , and HaShem Respects their courage and love of Him and What is True . Like Avraham, who turned away from all he was brought up with , and "Lech Lecha ," - " Went out ," from his family and all that was familiar, to travel the True Road of Pure Faith in HaShem . What could be sweeter.
The Parsha starts by saying ," VaYishma Yisro ," - " And Yisro Heard." Yisro had tried many wrong ways, and finally , Yisro listened and heard HaShem . Within the word 'Vayishma," is the word , " Shem," - " Name," in reference to The True HaShem , and not the other fake and false idols of the World.Thus , Yisro had tried many idols with many names , and finally , he realized The One and Only True HaShem , HaShem's love and control of the Universe, through the Miracles HaShem Had Performed for His people. The True G-D , is HaShem, that is His Name . Finally , Yisro heard HaShem , as Master and Creator of all things, The Only One, Who Has Power over all aspects of His Creation , as He Showed , with our Saving from Mitzrayim, The Splitting of the Yam Suf and the Defeat of Amalek . Now " VaYishma Yisro ," - " Yisro Heard .' The words " VaYishma Yisro ," comes to 1042 in Gematriah which breaks down to 1+ 0 + 4 + 2 = 7 , the number of the Gematrical value of Moshiach . In Moshiach's time , all will realize that only HaShem is G-D and that many of the world have followed false deities that HaShem Forbids . Thus , in Moshiach's time , the World will " Vayishma," - " Hear ," the True G-D HaShem and Worship Him Only . What a Powerful Love , HaShem Has for the Ger Tzeddek , the true Convert to Torah Orthodox Judaism . The word " Yisro ," has within it , the word ' Yoter,' which means ' More ,' thus , there is always ' More ' to learn and more to gain , and the path toward HaShem , is Beyond infinite , and so , one should never stop learning HaShem's Torah .
Yisro finally realized , that HaShem is G-D , the one and only , as our Yidden knew since the beginning , and continue to acknowledge , when we say during each day , the Shema , a few times , "Shema Yisrael HaShem Elokeinu , HaShem Echad ," - " Hear O Israel , HaShem Is our G-D , HaShem Is One . "
This is an acknowledgement said by every Orthodox Torah Jew every day , and such a type of acknowledgement given by every Ger when they convert . Such was the acknowledgement made by Yisro, the holy Ger Tzeddek . May the time come in our days, when the whole World stands up and says out loud the True Truth that HaShem , He Is One , The One And Only Creator .

Parashas Beshalach

Our Parsha this week is Parashas Beshalach.
Our people had just left Mitzraim 3 days ago and Pharaoh was under the impression that The Children of Israel would return after making offerings after the 3 days originally requested.He had sent spies along with the Children of Israel, and after the 3 days, these spies exposed themselves and asked when we are returning to Egypt. These spies were held and beaten and a few of them escaped and returned to Pharaoh in Egypt, telling him , we have no intention of returning , as Torah Says , " Vayugad lemelech," - " It was told to the king ," ( Shemos 14:5 ). He started to regret his decision letting our people go , as did some of his advisers and so, he asked for his elite chariots to be prepared , with the horses that were taken in before the plague of hail , and he himself harnessed his own chariot and enticed the officers to join him, harnessing the 600 elite chariots , ready to chase after us, claiming he would bring the Egyptians back, their lost honor.
In the meantime, HaShem Led the Children of Israel on an indirect circuitous route away from the Plishtim, for as Torah tells it, " Ki Karov Hu," - " Because it was near ." This meant that there was an agreement made between Avraham and Avimelech that neither would harass the other for the generations up to their children's children , and some of Avimelech's children were still alive , so HaShem Honored this agreement and Didn't Put the two nations in conflict . Also, HaShem Knew that should the Plishtim come out to war, the Children of Israel may lose heart and return to Egypt Chas Ve Shalom .
HaShem Protected us with a Pillar of Cloud by day ,to lead us and by night, a Pillar of Fire .
HaShem Also Surrounded us with Seven Clouds of Glory ,one before us, one behind us, one on our left and one on our right , one above and one below, and the seventh one, far ahead of us, to clear the way of any dangers they might lurk ahead , which included enemies and other dangers as well as a monster snake that hid in the Wilderness 
HaShem Commanded that we turn back in the direction of Egypt . This was a trick to Pharaoh , letting him think we are returning .HaShem had us encamp before 'baal-zephon,' which was actually a statue of the idol baal . This was the last statue left as an idol of Egypt, left , so as to trick Pharaoh and the Egyptians and to test them to give them the opportunity to realize idols are worthless but they still clung to their negativities , for when Pharaoh heard they had stopped there, he and the people jumped to the conclusion, it must be the idol halting them . Little did he realize , that HaShem Is The Wisest and Most Amazing Tactician, tricking Pharaoh into falling into his own idolworship mistake . He thought we were trapped in, with wild animals on one side, the wilderness on the other and the Sea ahead ,with the Egyptians behind us. 
Our people saw the Egyptians coming, for where we had taken 3 days to get to the place we now were , they took a day to reach us .Our people cried out in panic and the Eirev Rav - Mixed Multitude who weren't Jews, complained they should not have been taken out of Egypt ." Moshe reassured the people and then turned to HaShem , Who Told Moshe to stretch out his staff arm over the Yam Suf to split it . But the sea did not want to obey, not wanting the evil Egyptians in it . HaShem Had His Angel and the Pillar of Cloud that had been going before us, to go behind us and the Egyptians were plunged into another Darkness.
It was only when HaShem Commanded the Yam Suf, did it split.
Our Rabbonim discuss in the Hagaddah on Pesach that there were between 200-250 Plagues that hit the Egyptians in the Yam Suf .
HaShem Caused Amazing Miracles , When Splitting the "Yam Suf " - " Reed Sea . " The Water Split into 12 pathways, so that each Tribe could travel within their Tribe and pathway , yet each Tribe could see through the walls of water, to the Tribe next to them . Though a Sea Bed would be muddy and wet, HaShem Made Sure, it would be dry and solid to walk upon . Should any one of our people have need for drinking water, all they had to do , was stretch out their hand and take water, and when they had had their fill, then the wall of water returned to how it was before.The Walls of water, were like beautiful mosaics and patterns, to bring peace and comfort to our people as they walked through .The waters formed a wall on either side of us and also formed a roof from above .How Sweet is HaShem , for How Much HaShem Loves His Chosen People .
The Egyptians tried to pursue us. HaShem Commanded Moshe to stretch his hand over the Sea , and the Water returned to its place and the waters came back down on top of them and churned them in the Sea . Those that did us more harm, had more painful deaths. The water and mud hit them like a solid wall, Middah Knegged Middah , for how they made us work and build in the brickpits , in areas that were so muddy , that they knew no building could ever have been set up there, thus they did it just to harm us and destroy us.
HaShem Had the Sea spit the Egytians out on the shore so we could see that they were really gone . 
But what happened to Pharaoh. According to Chazal, Pharaoh never returned to Egypt but ran away , acknowledging HaShem . His travels took him to a city called Nineveh, where he became the ruler. This was the same ruler, to whom HaShem sent the prophet Yonah - Jonah, to tell him and the city to repent.This time he listened as the story of Jonah shows .
The Angels wanted to sing Shira , at the victory of HaShem and our saving, but HaShem told them not to, as the Egyptians , who were also HaShem's Creation, were dying and songs should thus not be sung by them . We , on the other hand sang the Song at the Sea, as we were directly involved in receiving the Miracle and Saving from HaShem .This song is said at every Shacharis Service Davening .May we never forget what HaShem Did and Does for us always .The women too, under Miriam , Moshe and Aharon's sister also sand a song too.
After this Miracle, our people did not want to leave the Yam Suf, as they had experienced the Beauty of HaShem's Shechinah, and so, HaShem Moved His Shechinah up ahead , and so the people followed It .
The people went toward the Wilderness of Shur, for a 3 day period in the Wilderness,and did not find any water. They arrived at Marah and there the water could not be drunk as it was bitter. The people complained to Moshe . HaShem Showed Moshe a tree , which sweetened the water when it was thrown in. According to Mechilta , the tree was bitter like the water , yet miraculously made it sweet . This was a lesson, that the sweet holiness must come from within us .It is how we are , that makes the World sweet.
They arrived at Elim and found 12. Springs, for the 12 Tribes of Israel and also found 70 date palms, a hint at the 70 nations in the World and also a hint at the 71 member Sanhedrin that was to come in Israel where it included 70 Judges and a Kohein , where with Moshe at the lead at the time and Aharon to become the Kohein Gadol after his inauguration would make up the 71 .
They journeyed on and came to the Wilderness of Sin, between Elim and Sinai , on the 15th of Iyar , and the people complained to Moshe about wanting meat, as the left over Matzah , had lasted a month and was now finished , it being a month after the Exodus from Mitzraim . 
HaShem Sweetened this World with a Special Creation , that when the people saw it, they asked each other . "Man Hu? ," which meant " What is this ?." Thus , its Name became ' The Mann ," - " Mannah ," HaShem Saw to it that His people were served every day, this Miracle Food from Heaven that could take on the taste of anything one imagined at the time of eating it . It would not fall on Shabbos , and a double portion would fall for them the day before . This food was a test of faith for the people, so they would trust and have faith that HaShem Would See To their needs every day. This is the true way to live, to trust HaShem every day that He Will Look after us . The way HaShem Gave us the Mannah, was such an act of love . First , HaShem Would Let a small amount of pure rain fall, so as to clean and purify the ground. Then HaShem Sent Dew, so as to form a soft tray , on which the Mannah came down upon and gently sat . Thus HaShem Softly Served us on a clean and beautiful tray of Dew, Prepared Softly For us With His Love .No one was to take more then an Omer and no man was to leave it over for the next morning, but to trust HaShem that every day HaShem Would Lovingly Provide For us Again . Those who took more or less still had an Omer .
Two men, tried to trick HaShem and Moshe , and keep it till morning. These two men were Dasan and Aviram, the man whom Moshe saved from the Egyptian in Egypt, and his brother in law, who was arguing that next day , back in Egypt . Out of their tents, came large worms and thus they exposed their deed . Moshe instructed the people what to do on the Sabbath , with the Mannah, that they were to collect a double portion the day before, for none would fall on the Shabbos. Some didn't listen and went out to collect on the Sabbath,but there wasn't any , even though Dasan and Aviram tried to trick HaShem and Moshe , by spreading some of their portion on the ground , for it all disappeared .
HaShem Commanded that a full Omer of Mannah, be kept for safekeeping for our generations , to show what we were Fed by Hashem in the Wilderness with this beautiful holy sweet Food from Shamaim Heaven .Moshe told Aharon to put a full Omer of Mannah,in a Jar and place it before HaShem for safekeeping for our generations, and so, Aharon did as HaShem Had Commanded Moshe, and placed it before the Ark of the Testimony for safekeeping . We ate the Mannah till we came to the border of Canaan , for 40 years .
We journeyed on and came to Rephidim and there was no water to drink.The people complained to Moshe . HaShem Told Moshe to stand before the rock at Horeb and to strike the rock and water would come out. This Rock was known as The Well of Miriam . In Miriam's honor, this Rock traveled with our people throughout our journey , in the merit of Miriam, Moshe and Aharon's sister, for it was Miriam, who had watched over little Moshe Rabbeinu at the Nile.
Moshe called the place where the people contended with him ," Massah U'Merivah ," which was a reference to their testing and contention with HaShem . The word 'Massah,' refers to this as a test, for, HaShem was tested ten times , throughout our travels in Bamidbar - the Wilderness.
Because we lost faith and doubted HaShem, HaShem Sent our greatest enemy Amalek , descended from Eisav and his son Eliphaz , who came and battled us at Rephidim . Moshe, knowing Yosef's tribe has power over Amalek, sent a descendant of this tribe , beloved and holy Yehoshuah - Joshuah to do battle with Amalek . The name Amalek breaks down to 'Am Leik ,' which means ' to lick our blood .' Yehoshuah went out to do battle against Amalek , while Moshe , Aharon and Chur went up a hill. When the people kept faith in HaShem, Moshe's hands could be kept raised and Israel was stronger, but when the people started to doubt and lose faith in HaShem , Moshe's hands lowered , where Amalek was stronger. Moshe's hands grew heavy, due to the lack of faith and complaints , and Aharon and Chur took a stone and put it under Moshe and held his hands up, remaining with his hands up in faithful prayer till sunset, where HaShem Made the Sun remain in the sky.Amalek, before they attacked, had asked other nations to join them in wiping us out,and they saw in their astrology, that they would prevail when the sun set, so HaShem Made sure , that the Sun would remain in the sky and they would be beaten ( and at such a miracle,the other nations feared and never came to help Amalek ),and so they were beaten , by Yehoshuah and our army , before sunset. The very action of Moshe raising his hands, teaches us, to always direct our love and prayers Heaven - Ward to HaShem . HaShem Helped Yehoshuah weaken Amalek with the point of the sword .
HaShem Told Moshe to record it as a Remembrance in the Book and recite it in the ears of Yehoshuah , That HaShem Would Erase Amalek from under the Heavens . Moshe built an altar and named it ," HaShem Nisi ," - " HaShem Is my Miracle ," " where HaShem Maintains a war with Amalek from generation to generation ." Amalek , cannot be totally destroyed, till the End of Days, for while sin remains, so remains Amalek . Each nation has its 'Sar,' protective angel. The Angel of Amalek is Samael and some say Satan , himself, where Samael was the Angel who enticed Adam Ve Chavah to eat of the forbidden fruit in Gan Eiden . Only at the End of Days, will this Nation and its Sar be brought down finally . Until then it is up to each of us to fight the Amalek Nation and its sentiments , of bringing down HaShem Chas Ve Shalom , for they maintain a war against HaShem, and thus, must we fight them in every generation, as we did to Haman and Agag ,their descendants .Only Amalek had the arrogance to attack us , after we came out of slavery and where HaShem Showed such Miracles in freeing us. Only Amalek did not respect HaShem in acknowledging HaShem's Power in the World and so, must we , from generation to generation , fight the lack of acknowledgement in HaShem that surrounds us. So ends our Parsha.
The Haftorah is in Judges 4:4 - 5:31 and , like the Song at the Sea, in the Parsha, so does our prophetess Devorah and Barak, who went to war against Sisera ,also sing a song of their victory with Hashem's Aid and the actions of Jael , Hever's wife , who was a Kenite , who killed our enemy Sisera, a Canaanite.
The Parsha is called ," Beshalach ," which means "Sent ." It talks of how Pharaoh sent us out of Egypt. This was not Pharaoh's plan. Thus no matter how the evil man plots evil , HaShem uses even the evil man's plan to turn it around and to still bring it to good . No matter what man proposes, HaShem Has Many Ways To Still Ensure, the correct path is gotten to .
Though it was Pharaoh who sent our people out of Egypt, he was just a Shaliach, a Sender , a Messenger who " Beshalach ," sent us out of Egypt . In reality, it was HaShem .The first verse of this Parsha, still shows that it is HaShem ," Nacham ," Who is doing the Leading . All Actions lead to HaShem . All things in this World ultimately work for HaShem , to an end , we seldom realize . At the End of the days , each action will be seen to have been a step toward Mashiach and the End of Days . Nothing happens for no reason . There is a reason for all things under the Sun. All things lead to Mashiach . All sendings by whomever , lead to Mashiach . This is apparently so clearly, when we take the word " Beshalach," and work out it's Gematrical value , which comes to 2+300+30+8=340 and 3+4+0=7 , the exact Gematrical value of the word 'Mashiach ." Thus , HaShem's Master plan is in all things and no matter how a person may try to avoid doing what HaShem Wants , HaShem Has many "Be 'Shalachim ' ,' - " Messengers to ensure His Result . 
The waters of the Yam Suf , that split for our people , when Nachshon ben Amminadav ( who was the brother of Elisheva who had married Aharon ) from the Tribe of Yehudah was the first to step into the water in faith , showed , every action we do, in trust and faith in HaShem , is a step toward Mashiach and the End of Days . Each step is made up of little actions of faith and trust of Emunah in HaShem . Every action we do for G-D , is an action of Faith and Love of Him and thus , we all , at every moment in time , are a Shaliach ( Messenger ) of HaShem , " Beshalach," sent out to fulfill HaShem's Will and bring this World to Mashiach . It can take only one more action. Only one more Mitzvah , and Mashiach can come .We can, each one of us , be the ultimate Shaliach, to bring about that last action needed ,that will get HaShem To Send Mashiach and Usher in the End of Days , where we can meet HaShem again . So go out and do your Mitzvos and follow HaShem's Torah , out of love and faith and be HaShem's Shaliach Messenger , so that HaShem can " Shalach " - " Send " us Mashiach and the End of Days . It is all up to you. You could be the one who does that last action that brings It About . Or you could be the one who aids and assists in that final action that was " Beshalach ," - " Sent ," to usher in Olam Habah . So never stray from The Holy Torah and Keep always on the Path of HaShem and be a forever beloved " Shaliach "of HaShem .

Parashas Bo

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Bo . 
In the previous Parsha, the Egyptians were just hit with the Hail, and when that ceased,that which was still growing in the ground that hadn't yet sprouted, was still there and started to grow.
HaShem , in this Parsha Tells Moshe to "Bo," - "Come" to Pharaoh and warn them of the next Plague of "Arbeh," - " Locusts." The word "Arbeh" has within it the word "Arev," which means to "Ambush ," and that is exactly what the locusts did. They completely ambushed the Egyptians and attacked and surrounded them full force . When they came, they first appeared on the horizon as a dark cloud, but this dark cloud had a loud noise as it came closer and that is when the egyptians realized they were done for , as the this dark cloud came swooping down in the form of millions of killer locusts , like kamikaze bombers and went into attack mode. These were not ordinary locusts as our Midrash tells us. They had hard claws and teeth unlike any locust swarm ever seen, as this Parsha relates, and they were also insatiable, devouring everything in site, including inanimate objects of the Egyptians. They devoured the sprouts that the Hail had left and every particle of food that could be found . Egypt was lost . Adam Ha Rishon had foreseen their ambush of Egypt and thus called them " Arbeh." These Specially Engineered insects of HaShem , attacked the eyes of the Egyptians and other orifices , and covered the whole border of Egypt. Their presence there in Egypt sorted out old land disputes, that Egypt had with their neighbors, for the Locust Swarm settled only on Egyptian Land .This Plague hit Egypt Middah Knegged Middah, to punish the Egyptians for making the Children of Israel sow the Egyptians crops through all hours of the day and night .
Pharaoh summoned Moshe and Aharon and admitted he had sinned to HaShem and to Moshe and asked that HaShem Remove as he called it "Et HaMavet Hazeh ," - "This death," for that is how bad it was. As an East wind had brought the locust swarm by HaShem , after Moshe had been Commanded by HaShem to stretch his staff over the land of Egypt, now HaShem turned back a powerful West Wind and the locust swarm was carried to the Yam Suf . 
The next Plague , the Ninth Plague , as the 3rd in the set of threes , that always came without a warning to Pharaoh, sat ready to serve HaShem . HaShem Told Moshe to stretch his hands towards the Heavens and "Choshech," - " Darkness " would descend. At first, the darkness was bearable and with fire forms of light, they could , with much effort , see. But then the Darkness settled into a solid mass and was tangible . So hard and tangible was it that it felt like a solid wall. Whatever position an Egyptian was in before it had started, they had to remain in for three days,for it was like solid mass around them. This Punishement came upon Egypt, Middah Knegged Midah , as egyptians used to change around working hours for night work, simply out of egyptian cruelty.They also used to force the Jewish women to perform hard labor with bricks , that needed more male strength.Cruelty got its response. HaShem Gave Light though to our people, the Children of Israel . In fact, our people were able to go into the Egyptian's homes during this plague, seeing perfectly with light, when the Egyptian was still in darkness, and we were able to see exactly where the Egyptians kept their things of value that should have been our pay for the 210 years of slavery ,so that when we would leave and the Egyptian would lie and deny he had anything, we could say directly where he deceitfully hid it . Thus would be fulfilled HaShem's Prophecy that we would leave Mitzrayim with silver and gold and empty out Egypt ( for our wages ) . Pharaoh Called Moshe and told him they can go but to leave the cattle. Moshe said these would be needed for Korbanos and so, Pharaoh again became hard and told Moshe never to come see his face again , on threat of death . Moshe responded that it would be Pharaoh who would call and come out to him .
HaShem Then Spoke of the last Plague .The Rosh Chodesh New Moon was taught. For now, we would be responsible for setting up our Calendar and this month of our Exodus in Nissan, where the weather is mild ( and so HaShem Was Compassionate even to us traveling in a pleasant month ) would be to us the Beginning of Months, for Tishrei, is the beginning time of Man , but the Month of Nissan, is for us Jews special, for it is the Month we became a people totally under HaShem, free from bondage , to serve only our Creator as one People . HaShem Then Instructed on the Pesach Offering and how the deity of Egypt , the lamb was to be tied to the bedpost and so became Shabbos Ha Gadol , and it was to be tied for four days , as a show to the egyptians that their fake deity was just a creation .Instructions were given on how to prepare this so Named Korban Pesach and what to do with the blood on the lintel and two door posts , as a sign to Passover our dwellings. HaShem Would , on that night, Go through Egypt with His Angels and Smite all the first born of Egypt in all classes of egyptians. We are , from generation to generation , to regard this night as a Yom Tov and to eat during this period , Matzos and Marror , remembering the haste in which we left and the bitterness of our slavery, and to relate it every year at this time , as we do now , from our Haggados .
At Midnight , HaShem Went Through Egypt Smiting the First Born and Breaking all the idols . There was not a household in Egypt where there wasn't death, for Egypt , being an impure people, would have adulterated marriages and thus first borns, were abundant in Egypt . HaShem and His Host of Angels Smote Egypt.This being Middah Knegged Middah , for Pharaoh throwing our First Born into the Nile . 
Pharaoh, ran out into the street and made his way to Goshen, looking for Moshe's house , and when he found it begged Moshe to stop this plague, fearing his own life for he too was a first born . Moshe never came out, under HaShem's Command , and told him that he would survive to see more punishment.Pharaoh begged Moshe what to do to stop this Tenth Plague and Moshe told him to go out into the street and call out that The Jews are now free. This, Pharaoh did, and his voice was, by HaShem , Miraculously made louder so it could be heard all over Egypt. People now begged the Jews to go and we were able to pinpoint where things of value were hidden from searching during the Plague of Darkness . While others were engaged in preparing to leave , Moshe , in fulfilling Yosef's words, went on a search for Yosef's Guf - body . Asking Serach bat Asher, Moshe was told, it had been put in an iron coffin and sunk into the Nile ( to to prevent the Jews from leaving ) . Moshe took a parchment and wrote on it ' Alei Shor ,' - ' Arise Ox '( where Yosef was compared to a strong boned ox by Yaakov , for he stayed solid to Judaism in Egypt ) ( some of our Rabbonim think it could have been a metal scroll or four pieces of parchment or even a cup ) and Moshe spoke these words and Yosef's coffin rose . So wasYosef's Coffin as the his brothers coffins, of the Twelve Tribes carried out of Egypt .Yosef was carried throughout the years in the Wilderness , near the Aron and when asked, people were told , 'Here lies the Tzaddik who kept the Laws on the Luchos in the Aron .'
We Jews left with the Matzos that never had time to rise, tied to our shoulders , and the silver and gold on the donkeys, thus showing that the Matzah was of greater value and kept close to our heart, while material things could just remain on the donkey .
As we left , other Laws were given with regards to first born, now being holy and that we are to remember the Exodus, which we do , in the Shema Payer we say, the Mezuzos on our doors and the Tefillin we wear at Shacharis Davening . So ends our Parsha . 
The Haftorah also talks of the defeat of Egypt by HaShem , when Nebuchadnezzar is sent to bring down Egypt, in Jeremiah 46:13-28 .
Our Parsha is called Parashas Bo , which means " Come ," for HaShem Instructs Moshe to Come to Pharaoh, a more respectful less aggressive way of being it was , then had HaShem said ' Go' to Pharaoh . Why the term "Come to Pharoah ?" HaShem Was teaching us a very valuable lesson , that to all, we must be humble and appeal to people's hearts in a kind , respectful and soft way and always show people respect and worth . But there is a deeper meaning here. The words in this Parsha appear as " Bo El ," which , in another way of looking at it , can translate as " Come to El - to G-D ." Each step we take in life that helps us climb spiritually , is a step coming toward G-D . Every part of our lives, all the hardships , the trying times and the tests, are all a process that prepares our Soul to " Bo El ," - " Come to HaShem . In Moshe's " Bo el Par'o,". - " Moshe is in actual fact going toward HaShem, in Moshe fulfilling his destiny . All roads lead to HaShem, even if we don't see the whole picture . For Moshe , the coming to Pharaoh, what Moshe is doing is what we Jews need to do, to help others in different ways, to Come to HaShem . We Jews are chosen to be a Light to the Nations , and each time we go out into HaShem's World, we have a task, for HaShem , to bring the Light of HaShem to the World around us , and in so doing, we also bring ourselves closer to HaShem . Thus each step we take, is " Bo El ," a " Coming to HaShem . " HaShem Entrusts each one of us to make this World Holy . It is not just a matter of bringing this World up to meet Heaven . It is a matter of Us making this World a part of Heaven , and then HaShem Can Dwell among us in Love .
May we , every day , go out toward HaShem and make His Creation a Place surrounded by HaShem's Love and Light . HaShem is Beyond Infinite, and that " Bo " - " Coming ," is beyond Endless. How wonderful and sweet , that there is so much pathway to gain in Holiness . May HaShem Forever Bless us all to keep on that Pathway that, every day , every moment and at all times , HaShem Tells us to "Bo" - " Come ," to Him and that Leads us home to HaShem our One and Only Beloved Creator Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu The Holy One Blessed Be He .

Parashas Va'eirah

Our Parsha this Shabbos. Is Parashas Va'eira.
HaShem Tells Moshe That He Appeared To our Fore-Fathers As El-Shaddai, Now, HaShem Appears In Mercy And Compassion With The Name HaShem .
HaShem Assures Moshe that He Will fulfill His Assurances to us , To Bring us To our own Holy Land . HaShem Gives us the Four Reassurances of Redemption, which gives us the Four cups of Wine on Pesach .
HaShem Warns Moshe, that Pharaoh will not heed.
HaShem Instructed Moshe to perform the signs before Pharaoh.
Moshe came to Pharaoh ( in this Sedra ) at the age of 80 ,with Aharon, who was 83 . Pharaoh asked for signs to be performed, for that was the physical level of Pharaoh and his people, needing physical signs and proof .
Moshe commanded Aharon to cast down his (Moshe's) staff and it would become a snake . Pharaoh mocked this as his own necromancers were able to perform this too . Bilaam was there at the time and mentioned how this 'Ben Amram' (Moshe) comes to a place filled with negative magic , and dares perform magic to prove hiimself . Bilaam said that to turn a rod into a snake , which the Egyptians did here including Pharaohs' own wife , is easy. Let them show how the rod that returns from being a snake before , can devour other rods . HaShem turned the snake back into a rod, and as Torah points out , the staff of Aharon, devoured the other staffs of the Egyptians , as staffs.
And so the Plagues began .
The 10 Plagues took place in a specific order, with every first two coming with a warning to Pharaoh to give him an opportunity to do the right thing , and the following one ( each third one ) came by surprise.
HaShem Knew Pharaoh came early in the morrning to the Nile as he didn't want people to know he was human , in order to perform certain humanly functions . HaShem set the time for the First Plague , and so Sent Moshe early to Pharaoh .
HaShem Told Moshe to instruct Aharon , to stretch out his hand over the Nile and the waters of Egypt . Moshe did not want to start this Plague himself , by smiting the water, for the waters in the Nile had concealed him as the Waters of the Nile held little Moishe when he was a child.This was exactly how HaShem wanted Moshe to respond , and so Aharon did it for Moshe . Thus for seven days , every type of Water Source became 'Dam' - 'Blood,' in memory and punishment for staining the Nile with our baby's blood , when our first-born were cast into the Nile .Our Rabbis say that every baby that was cast into the Nile , HaShem Had the Nile spew out and they were kept alive by HaShem's Miracle. For Seven Days, Egypt had no clean water. Their water reservoirs, the Nile , and other containers of water , became blood . If a Jew and an egyptian would share a bottle of water, the Water for us was pure, but for them, it remained Blood . Blood came out of every orifice and even down the the Walls of Pharaoh's palace in Egypt . This was in lieu of what Egypt did to our babies . 
The Second Plague from HaShem , came in the form of Frogs . Frogs in Hebrew is "Tzefardeah, as Adam Ha Rishon called it , as he foresaw that these frogs would 'fit into ' Egypt's ovens as a punishment to Egypt and so , called them this word, Meaning ' to fit in,' which is exactly what the frogs did, going into ovens, food , and even the people's bodies. 
This Second Plague started with a massive Frog coming out of the water and opening its mouth, to let out many thousands of little frogs.These frogs walked straight up first to Pharaoh's Palace . These frogs made noises all night , even from within the Egyptian's bellies . This Plague too, Aharon was the one who HaShem Gave to start it . The Egyptians were able to replicate this Plague too as they did with the Blood .
This Plague was due to the fact that The Children Of Israel were forced to handle all kinds of vile things and creatures as a sport to the Egyptians .Pharaoh begged and pleaded for the Frogs to be removed, but when they were, Pharaoh again hardened His Heart . The land of Egypt stank.
Plague Three came with no fore-warning .
HaShem Told Moshe to tell Aharon to strike the dust and it became Chinim - Lice . Moshe didnt start this Plague either via HaShem as Moshe remembered his debt to the sand in Egypt , which had concealed for him the Egyptian taskmaster , he had killed , that was beating his fellow Jew Dasan . This , the Egyptian necromancers , could not copy or make, as negative forces cannot act on anything smaller than a barley kernal . Here the Sorcerers had to admit that ' This is a Finger of G-D .'
Pharaoh's Heart was hardened . Yaakov Avinu had foreseen how the sand would become lice in this Plague and this was thus one of the reasons that he did not want to be buried in Egypt . The reason for this Plague was for how Egypt had forced our people to build bricks, and once the sand was turned to Lice, there could be a halt on building .
The fourth Plague came with a vengeance, after Moshe gave Pharaoh a warning. This was a Plague of the Swarm of Wild Beasts that made havoc in Egypt . These attacked Egypt without mercy . This was sure a representation of how we have been attacked by wild Egyptians . Pharaoh was prepared now to let us do sacrifice , but only in Egypt, to which Moshe refused as we would offer the fake deity of Egypt , the sheep.
Pharaoh again hardened his heart ,
HaShem Warned through Moshe , that the next Plague would be an Epidemic - 'Dever' that would attack livestock and even those on the livestock at the time . This was Middah-Knegged -Middah a punishment for Egypt for Jews were forced to work till late hours with Egypt's livestock . 
The Sixth Plague , came like the third plague, with no prior warning . This Plague of ' Sh'chin ,' - ' Boils ' was a Plague brought about by HaShem and Moshe and Aharon . Both Moshe and Aharon were to take handfulls of furnace soot in front of Pharaoh , and it was miraculously to go into Moshe's Hands alone and was miraculously thrown 'Heaven-ward' and the results were hot blisters and hot boils over man and beast over the whole of Egypt. These Boils were not like any other as they had a hard crust and soft inside . Thus they were hard to treat . This was a sore reminder for the Egyptians who had made us do back-breaking labor in the hottest and most burning of heat . Pharaoh's heart again was hardened . 
The Eighth plague of Barad - Hail , came with a vengeance , putting two completely oppossing forces of nature ( fire and water ) to come together to work for HaShem .Moshe warned that livestock must be taken indoors away from the Hail . The hail fell with fire and ice . 
Pharaoh summoned Moishe and Aharon, to stop the Plague, and admit he'd sinned and that HaShem Is The Righteous One . Moshe requested and the Hail stopped in mid air and was suspended. We read of different battles in our Biblical history, where that hail and thunder , from the time of Egypt , came down on our enemies, like in Elisha's Time .
But after having the Hail removed, Pharaoh continued in his stubborn ways, for his heart was hardened . This Plague of Hail came about , due to our harsh treatment and being forced to go out in all kinds of conditions . So ends our Sedra .
This Sedra is called ' Va'eirah " - "Appeared ." For now , HaShem is going to show Himself by His Changing Nature and its Natural Laws , in bringing about the Plagues . 
It was now, in this Sedra that HaShem's Workings would be openly shown . Thus HaShem " Va'eirah " -now " Appeared " to us , by His Miraculous Love and Caring of the Children of Israel .
Before, to our Forefathers , HaShem "Va'eirah " - " Appeared as " El Shadai ," where "Dai," - " Enough " shows that HaShem Created the World with all its Laws and Limits , for that is 'enough' , but now , HaShem Would Bring new Mercy in Saving His People , the connotation of HaShem, for this Name shows HaShem's Name Attribute of Mercy , where HaShem Would here Show Mercy To our people and Set us Free, by Going Beyond the Level of Completeness and , out of mercy, make that which goes above Natural Law Take Place in a Miraculous Manner .
HaShem's Attribute of Yud Key Vav Key , shows that HaShem Is Also Master Over Creation and Does With His Creation Whatever Is Necessary .
In " Va'eirah " - "Appearing ," HaShem Sheds His Light on the World , for within the word " Va'eirah," is the word "Ohr," - " Light ". HaShem Constantly infuses the World with Light and it is for us to use that Light to lead Creation in the direction HaShem Wants it To go .This will lead Creation into Olam Habah , The World to Come . 
If we look at the word " Va'eirah," in Hebrew the 'Eirah ' part spells the same word both ways , with the two Alephs surrounding the Reish . This shows, How HaShem's Light is not just from above, but from below too, for every Creation of HaShem , Has a Purpose To Help Bring the Ohr Light oOf HaShem . What and how we handle What HaShem Gives us is left up to us , as is being good or bad left up to us to choose . We see this too in the word 'Eirah,' which backwards or forwards , can read Ohr - Light , or Rah - Bad . The choice is ours , but we must choose wisely , for HaShem Appears to us all the time, if only we would look close enough . This Appearance - Va'eirah also references the Appearance at Har Sinai, when HaShem Gave us the 10 Pronouncements - Better Known as The 10 Commandments . So Interesting,that the word 'Va'eirah,' comes to 10 Gematrically , so keeping HaShem's Commandments leads to HaShem's Revelation and " Va'eirah " - " Appearance ."
We are all in this Creation together . Let us all work together to bring HaShem's 'Ohr ,' - ' Light ,' and so , Let HaShem's " Va'eira ," - " Appearance ," come soon in our days .
