Parashas Naso

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Naso and starts with HaShem's Commandment of continuing to count the Levite families of Gershon and Merari. The Levites were the tribe in Israel whose responsibility were the Holy articles and tasks of the Kohanim. The Kohanim were to be pure and Holy and do the work of HaShem's Tabernacle.
HaShem said in the Torah that the Children of Israel were to be a 'Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation.' We all are to keep purity and Holiness as we are always in the Holy Presence of HaShem and we are to always do what HaShem instructs us to do.
Being a Holy people means keeping HaShem's Laws, learning Torah and just as important, doing the goodness of actions of morality which we learn in Torah to do.To be a true follower of HaShem,HaShem asks us to emulate His Ways and be Holy as HaShem is Holy. It is Good to read Torah, but we are also to study Torah in order to practice It and teach It to our children and people and all we meet. Practicing the Torah and It's Moral Ways, makes us a representation of Torah Itself.Being a representation of the Torah, lifts and raises us up toward Holiness, toward HaShem. If we lift ourselves up toward HaShem,HaShem Will carry us on His wings as an Eagle carries its young on its back ,above and away from harm that can come to it from below.
This is seen in the very word of the name of our Parsha which is Parashas Naso. The Hebrew word 'Naso,' means 'to carry,to lift,to bear,to raise,to elevate,to take account,to be borne on,as well as to lift.' If we keep to HaShem in faithfulness and follow all He tells us to do,we will be elevated and lifted up to HaShem and be 'borne and carried' by HaShem through all things. We will be elevated and be at one with the Holy One Blessed Be He HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
We need to keep ourselves pure and elevated ,continuing to keep HaShem's Wish and follow His Torah which will take us high and exalt us,as the word 'Naso' also means.
HaShem asks us for faithfulness to Him and we are to be married to Him in Holiness. The word 'Naso' also has the root 'Nisa' which means 'Marry,' from which we get the stage of marriage of Nisuin in Jewish Law.As HaShem's people,we are to be His 'pure and holy' people, ever close and ever climbing for that closeness to our Creator.
Marriage needs to be in faithfulness and devotion to one's partner. So must be our relationship to HaShem ,acknowledging HaShem as the One And Only True G-D And Creator of All .
Within our Parsha this week, the Torah talks of the Sotah which is the wife that strays.HaShem values so much the faithfulness of a husband and wife that HaShem will let the Kohain put holy parchment into liquid to be erased so that the Sotah will tell the truth.HaShem values faithfulness and does not want us to be wayward, not to our Creator or to our spouse. We are to be a Holy people, always emulating HaShem.Holiness and faithfulness creates purity of soul and purity of soul elevates our very being to HaShem , Who will carry us up on high - 'Naso,' within the sweet protection of HaShem.
So every action we do for G-D will elevate us and the air around us and the very world around us will be elevated. With every Torah Law we keep,we lift the world around us up toward G-D and when we have lifted this world up to G-D , then G-D will be at one with us.
So as we elevate ourselves by keeping HaShem's Commandments let us raise ourselves to be counted 'Naso,' and come close in love to HaShem .
With love to HaShem I wish HaShem a very Sweet and Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all,a sweet and holy Shabbos Kodesh with love.

Parashas Bamidbar

Our Parsha this Shabbos is followed straight away by Shavuot which is the day we received the Torah and HaShem came down on Mount Sinai. This is such a Holy time where , for the past few weeks we have been counting the Omer from the time we left Egypt till the time we came to meet HaShem ,cleansing ourselves as we count, purifying ourselves for holiness to meet HaShem.
Our Parsha of 'Bamidbar', which means 'Wilderness,' brings us to the subject of counting where HaShem instructs a census to be taken.
The act of counting is an act of love where each thing that we count ,shows a love for each thing that is counted.Keeping a count shows that what we are counting is precious to us and when HaShem asked us to make a counting,HaShem was also saying that each and every one of us is precious to HaShem. Each and every one of us has a special purpose to fulfill and G-D loves each of us individually.
Mount Sinai was in 'Bamidbar' The 'Wilderness.' What is a Wilderness? It is a place uninhabited,a place that is ownerless,a place of humility. This was the place for the Revelation of G-D to His people and this was the place for the Giving of the Torah. This Revelation of G-D and giving of His Torah was in a place of humility to show us that to follow G-D and keep His Laws,we are to be humble and put our own wants aside for G-D .It is a reminder that no matter how many physical beauties there are in this world around us,the true Beauty is G-D Who makes all things. This Holy Revelation of G-D to His people took place in an uninhabited ownerless land to show that HaShem's Torah gift is not just owned by one person but by all who follow HaShem's Ways. The Way to G-D is to put all our wants aside and follow G-D and His Wishes Only.
Within the word 'Bamidbar' are the words 'Be Mi Daber,' which translates as 'With Whom does one speak' or 'with whom does The One And Only Speak.' HaShem is the One to Whom we are to speak and follow Only .We are to speak to HaShem and follow HaShem Only in pure and moral humility.
Looking deeper,HaShem Created the world by speaking and it came into being. So,within the word 'Bamidbar,' it is within HaShem's words that we are to live.To listen to HaShem's Words and also to literally live within the Words of HaShem Itself. When we are true and faithful to G-D and His Wishes,we literally live within the words of HaShem and become part of those very words themselves. We attach ourselves to G-D and thus emulate HaShem and His Ways.We come closer to G-D.
As we stand today on Shabbos and on the day we received HaShem's Holy Revelation and where HaShem also remembers with tenderness our meeting HaShem on this day,so let us remember who we are and what HaShem asks of us and bring this world to a place where HaShem can settle among us and where the very words of HaShem surround us and become a part of us as we live within the words of HaShem.
With sweetest deepest love,I wish Precious HaShem a Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh and Chag Sameach Shavuot with love and to all , a Blessed Shabbos Kodesh and Chag Sameach Shavuot with love.

Parashas Behar-Bechukotai

Our Parsha this Shabbos is a double Parsha of 'Behar-Bechukotai,' where in Behar which means 'Mount,' HaShem speaks to Moshe on Mount Sinai to instruct the Children of Israel that when they come into the land, the people of the land are to observe the land's Sabbath. The portion of 'Bechukotai' which is defined as 'Statutes' refers to HaShem asking that we will keep HaShem's Statutes and so,will be Blessed with HaShem's Sweet Blessings.
As we come closer to Shavuot when we received the Torah on Mount Sinai, counting each day's Omer toward a holy soul,we need to remember that humility and love of HaShem for HaShem's sake by keeping His Statues, is a sweet welcome to invite HaShem to live among us.
When portions of the Torah are put together, there is a relationship with them.It was on Mount Sinai that the people heard HaShem Speaking to them and it was on Mount Sinai that Moshe went up to get the Torah which are HaShem's Statutes that guide us back to HaShem.
When HaShem wanted to choose a Mountain on which to appear to the Children of Israel, all the mountains but Mount Sinai begged HaShem to be the Mountain on which HaShem would appear to us,but Har Sinai remained silent and humble, feeling too unworthy to expect HaShem to appear on Har Sinai. So HaShem chose Har Sinai for the greatest revelation HaShem would first make to the Children of Israel. Though Har Sinai was not the largest of mountains,it was the most humble and that is the way to G-D.That is the way to follow HaShem's 'Bechukotai,'-'Statutes.
When we make ourselves small,we put HaShem's Wishes before our own and this allows us to follow G-D properly. Our own Yetzer Horahs may try and come and pull us away from Hashem's Will (Chas Ve Shalom) , but humility is the weapon against the Yetzer Horah. To put our own needs and wants aside and humble ourselves before the Almighty ,will automatically control the Yetzer Horah which seeks to pull us to our own physical will.
As our sages say,'the shamefaced goes to Gan Eiden,' so must we always humble ourselves before G-D.
In Parashas Behar,HaShem commands us to give Eretz Yisroel its Sabbaticals.Shabbos for us and for the land is a time for us to stop our work and contemplate HaShem's beautiful Holiness. It is a time for us to put our total trust in HaShem and acknowledge HaShem Who Created all things ,for if we acknowledge the Seventh Day then we acknowledge HaShem Who Created the Six Days of Creation. The Sabbath is a time to come close to G-D and put our physical wants aside, humbling ourselves before our Creator. Each day is a day toward the Sabbath that comes and in the Temple, the Kohanim would say the daily Psalm with the mention of how many days it is toward the Sabbath (as we do today when we say the Psalm of the day) , for the entire purpose of Creation is the Sabbath which will be Eternal when Mashiach comes. But in order to bring this purpose to fruition,we need to follow HaShem's 'Statutes' - 'Bechukotai.'In oder to do this,we need to be humble as Har Sinai (Mount Sinai) was humble.
To bring HaShem within us,we need to make ourselves small and invite HaShem within us.We do that with humility and keeping HaShem's Commandments.
HaShem assures us of the Blessings that will come when keeping His Statutes but keeping His Statutes should be for HaShem's sake and not because we want a reward.HaShem assures us of one,but that is not why we should keep His Commandments. We should keep His Commandments because we love HaShem with every part of our being.
HaShem teaches us a lesson here too that we should use with others. When judging others,do not judge by appearance as the other mountains wanted HaShem to do when they wanted to be chosen for HaShem's Revelation to the Children of Israel.Judge by what is within. Not because a person looks wonderful, should they be judged as such.Look beyond at the humility of the person and judge as HaShem judged King David when HaShem chose him and look within at the person's humble quiet moral goodness. For it is there where HaShem sits.
With love,I wish HaShem a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all,a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love.

Parashas Emor

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Emor where HaShem tells Moshe to speak to the Kohanim and instruct them on keeping very Holy.
In this Parsha, our Festivals are also mentioned as is the counting of the Omer which we are in the process of doing between Pesach and Shavuot as we count up toward Holiness, purifying ourselves to receive HaShem's Holy Torah.Everything we are Commanded to do for Yiddishkeit is in order to make us Holier with each action. The Holy Torah is our guide to doing that.
The word 'Emor' which means 'Say,' is so representative of HaShem trying to bring us and this world (which was Created by HaShem Speaking) to Holiness. What is interesting about the word 'Emor' is that the way it is written, with an 'Alef' and a 'Segol' (e) vowel,at the beginning and the way it is pronounced,it can also signify the 'Future Tense.' So,even though HaShem spoke to Moshe then,HaShem's voice is so 'Almighty,' that His Voice never ends.HaShem is beyond Eternal and so is HaShem's Voice. That means that what HaShem says then,is still carrying on today, never ending.HaShem's Words remain eternally and are speaking now as they did then.HaShem is so beyond nature that every word that HaShem says, continues in this physical world. We may not be on a level to hear it,but HaShem's Eternal Words are still there being spoken and the more holy and spiritual we become the more we can hear them.
So when HaShem addressed Moshe then to make the Kohanim Holy, these words still are being said today to each and every one of us , pleading for us to keep pure and Holy and follow HaShem's Holy Torah. This is why the word 'Emor' has a 'Future Tense' deeper significance written into the word.HaShem still speaks to each and every one of us and hopes that we will open ourselves up to let HaShem in. Though HaShem could make us listen, that would not be an act of love.True love is letting us make that choice to come to HaShem on our own. That is HaShem's true act of love.
When we stop and put aside all the physical things going on around us and give HaShem our quality time without rushing off to something else,we may just hear HaShem speaking these very words in that quality time that HaShem Creates for us.
The words of HaShem are there.May we all be 'there' to hear them.
When we finally give HaShem our quality time we may get a sweet suprise when we hear HaShem ''Emor' - 'Say,' His words to us for then it will be 'The End Of Days,' with Moshiach and this is hidden in the very word 'Emor,' which Gematrically comes to 241 and 2+4+1 is 7 which is the same Gematrical value as the word 'Mashiach.'
May we all be Blessed to hear HaShem's Voice which always talks to each and every one within Creation and be Blessed to sit with HaShem closely as HaShem wanted us to in Gan Eiden.
With love to HaShem, I wish HaShem a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with deep love and to all,a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love.

Parashat Acharei Mot - Kedoshim

Our Parashah Sedra this Shabbos is a double portion and is 'Acharei Mot-Kedoshim.' When two Torah portions are put together , it shows that there is a relationship between them both.
In the first Portion - 'Acharei Mot,' HaShem speaks with Moshe and instructs him of when Aharon can come into the Sanctuary, that it cannot be at all times, because HaShem's Shechinah rests on the Ark Cover. In Parashat 'Kedoshim,' HaShem instructs on Laws that will keep us Holy and asks us to be holy for HaShem is Holy.
So,we see that both of these Parashas are about keeping Holy.
We know that we are physical beings with physical temptations and a Yetzer Harah that tries to test us whether we will keep HaShem's Mitzvot or not. So,while we are tested and while we are in this physical state in this present world,we are not totally pure.We need HaShem's Commandments to make us and keep us Holy as HaShem is Holy which is what we see in one of our Parashas this week of 'Kedoshim . ' While we are not totally pure,we cannot fully and with purity stand before HaShem as closely as we could if we were pure as we could and should be .There are times when we don't always do what HaShem wants us to do and this prevents us from coming into HaShem's Closeness like we deeply could if we were pure. This we can see if we look deeply into our Parsha of 'Acharei Mot,' when Aharon couldn't always approach HaShem's Holiness on the Ark Cover.
The Torah is given to us so that we can streamline our physicalities in order to purify our bodies and lift them to purity so that we can link totally with the soul within us and so,learn to be holy as HaShem is Holy.
But why would these Laws of Holiness come to us just after Aharon had lost his two sons? To teach us that when we approach HaShem, which is at all times ,as HaShem is always around us, then we are to keep ourselves pure and holy all the time .Not holy according to our own standards and thoughts ,as Nadav and Avihu (Aharon's two sons) thought when they did what they as they believed that what they were doing was the right thing according to their own standards , by bringing an alien fire (that which was of their own standards of holiness) into The Holy Place. But it was not Holy by HaShem's Standards it was not Holy as it was not what HaShem had Commanded I,for HaShem knows what is needed and as HaShem hints at this in our Parsha,we are to be holy as HaShem is Holy . It is HaShem's Standards we are to emulate.
HaShem is all around us.HaShem ' Is .' At all times , past , present and future , HaShem ' Is .'
So at all times we are to act with holiness, whether we are with others or alone, whether we are in the light of day or the dark of night.HaShem is there. HaShem 'Is .' Thus at all times we are in the Holy Presence of our Beloved HaShem and so,at all times we are to be holy as HaShem is Holy .
Many in history have gone their own way and tried to lead others to their own version of holiness. There is no future in their ideals for it is only by HaShem that we are to live . It is only by HaShem that we breathe and through HaShem's Commandments and Ways ,will continue to breathe . We can never reach HaShem's Holiness but we are to work toward it with every breath we are given by HaShem .For this , we live .
HaShem tells us to be Holy as HaShem Himself Is Holy and this means at all times we are to keep HAShem's Commandments and be kind and moral and pure so that at all times we can approach HaShem closely and be pure for HaShem Who is around us all the time .
Our sages discussed what the most important Mitzvah is.Some of our Sages brought up the Laws mentioned within the Shema prayer and other Sages brought up other Laws, but it was decided that the most important Mitzvah is the one that we are to do at the moment we are meant to do it .For HaShem gives us Creation that allows us to do many Mitzvot ,that includes Shabbos,Kashrut ,The Yomim Tovim and all our precious Holy Torah Laws .At the moment each of these Mitzvot are to be done, that Law is the most important Mitzvah at that moment to do .Keeping to HaShem's Laws and Holy Ways will keep us holy and moral and teach us compassion and will lead us to the path of Holiness that HaShem tells us to stay on.Keeping to the purity that G-D instructs us to keep to , will lead us to emulate the Sweet Holiness of our Precious HaShem .
With love to HaShem I wish HaShem with deepest love,a Blessed and Sweet Shabbos Kodesh and to all, a sweet and Blessed Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love.
