Our
Parsha this Shabbos which also happens to be Rosh Chodesh Tammuz is
'Parshat Chukas,' where the Red Heifer is discussed at the beginning of
the Parsha.
A Chok is a Law from HaShem, where its reason is not
openly apparent.HaShem gave a number of Chukkim for us to keep, but no
explanation for why.The idea of the Red Heifer purifying ,even though it
contaminates those who directly prepare it,is beyond
our human reasoning.Shlomo Hamelech who was the wisest of the
wise, himself admitted that the other Chukkim he can understand but this
one with the Red Heifer is beyond him.
I feel we are in this world
of impurity to improve spiritually and though it is impure,we are given
it so that we can ride above it and purify ourselves through saying
'no,'to the negative forces in this world that try to tempt us.It is
thus through these negative forces, which, within themselves, are
impure, that we are thus purified by the positive choices we make toward
HaShem and all that is right and good. This world needs all
things, including a Yetzer Horah, which HaShem referred to as 'Very good'
in Bereishit, for it is through this Yetzer Horah that we can be tested
and grow spiritually and forever climb toward HaShem and HaShem's
Holiness. We need these tests to rise above them otherwise we would be no
more than a robot that cannot gain good because it cannot do good. Our
very choices are what makes us spiritually on a level of Holiness.
Thus, nothing in this world is as it appears to be.all is set to gain
Holiness and release the sparks of Holiness in this physical place.
But why would HaShem give us Laws to do and not explain why.I feel, that
we can show no greater a love for our Creator, than to perform that which
HaShem asks of us,without being given a reason.Being given a reason for
having to do something, still satisfies a part of ourselves in the
knowing why.But not being told why, shows a complete selfless love for
HaShem, that is totally for HaShem and leaves nothing for us to gain, even
in the knowing of why.We all like to know why we are told to do
something, but doing it purely out of love without knowing, raises us
higher than anything else can, as it shows a total selfless love for
HaShem .
In looking at how the verse is phrased at the beginning of
this Parsha,it says, 'Zos Chukas HaTorah,' 'This is the decree of the
Torah,' and if we look around these words,we get ,'This decree is the
Torah.' The very Torah is the Chok itself and thus ,without realizing
it,is the way to reveal hidden beauties of HaShem,by studying the Torah
and following it all.The very Torah we hold,is the very essense of the
Chok itself, the very statute to keep in its entirety. It is our pathway
to life and our way to travel to HaShem that leads back to the Tree of
Life of HaShem in Gan Eiden.
HaShem tells us to keep the Torah and
make a place for HaShem in this world and within ourselves. The very
Torah is the Chok and we are to take hold of It and keep it within
us.The word 'Chukas' written the opposite way comes to 'Tikach,' which
means 'To take' hold of our precious Torah and let it be within us
always.
We have always been a people, that accepts what HaShem offers
us and then we 'listen' as we said in the wilderness, 'We will do and
then we will listen,' and this must never change for the ultimate faith
in the Chok,is to trust HaShem implicitly and not question His
Almightiness.
So let us from now on,stop questioning our faith in
HaShem and do what He asks of us without being hindered by our own
doubts, for HaShem made all and knows all.Let us now, prove our ultimate
faith in HaShem and say, 'Without thought,Yes we will do whatever you
ask with alacrity .'
With all love,I wish HaShem a beautiful
Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov with love and to all,a beautiful Shabbos
Kodesh and Chodesh Tov with love.
