Our
Parsha this Shabbos is 'Acharei Mot,' - 'After the death,' and this
refers to the death of Aharon's two sons Nadav and Avihu. To be a High
Priest takes the greatest Holiness, and so,comes with obligations to keep
this holiness.Nadav and Avihu were died within a Holy place of the
Sanctuary and Aharon remained silent. The responsibility of such holiness
is sometimes physically hard to understand if
we continue to see this world around us as only a physical place. The
same is the loss of anyone close, for we do not see before or after a
person is in this world unless HaShem grants it.The feelings of loss of
those we love is immeasurable and how often do we ask why.We do not look
at what really happens after this person has moved on.We only feel the
here and now of this person's passing. This pain surely cannot be less
for the High Priest himself.Yet Aharon was silent.Aharon, the man who
dealt so closely with the connection between HaShem and us,through the
Holy Sanctuary.
We aren't Aharon, but we too are capable of great
holiness that we are not aware of.This holiness is so tied to HaShem
that it extends past the physical and thus,a part of us is the same as
other souls who move on,even though we don't see it.
When a person
looks closely at a painting, all they see are the marks, lines, blotches
and other shapes that look so incoherent that it really doesn't look
like it makes any sense at all-like our lives and pain
sometimes.Yet,when we take a few steps back and look again at the very
same painting,we start to see how there was a picture there all
along. This is exactly how this world is-it's pains and its joys.If we
look at this world through only physical eyes,it will look like nothing
makes sense.Yet from HaShem's point of view, all is a beautiful picture
including the Neshomas of those we have lost.
HaShem wants us to
trust him totally and so ,even when someone is lost, this is only how it
appears to us from the inside. The more spiritual we become, the further
away we can look at the true picture of what really is.This we need to
work on every day by listening to and following HaShem in all
things.Even when things try us.We are not seeing it all. When we start to
become more Holy, then the sweetness in all things appear and we
understand more of what really is.For as we get holier,we get closer to
HaShem's perspective and then we see that no one is ever lost and every
tragedy or unfortunate happening has a deeper and more Holy reason for
all fits together as one,so that it can complete the picture that
Holiness can help us see.
HaShem speaks'Acharei Mot,' after the
death of Aharon's two sons and shows us that life goes on,not just for
Aharon, but for his sons as well, for after 'Acharei Mot,'the words 'Shnei
B'nei Aharon B'Karvatam Lifnei HaShem Vayamutu,' can also be read,'The
two sons of Aharon came close before HaShem when they died.'There is
life after passing for HaShem, who is All Beautiful and All Holy and
beyond,is to whom we travel-whether in this life or afterwards.Aharon
kept silent for he knew on a level beyond the physical, that his two sons
were before the most Holy,HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He.
This
is the Shabbos before Pesach when our people were freed from the bondage
of physicality of Mitzrayim(meaning 'borders') ,to come under the Holy
wings of HaShem. So this is the time to free ourselves from the physical
that holds us down and reach up to Heaven for only with HaShem is the
true freedom.Only after we have physicality tuned ourselves and made
ourselves pure, can we see, that even after trying times, the light is sure
to follow and so,HaShem awaits us longingly. For all is as HaShem sees
it for with love,we feel and know that the truest path and only path is
with HaKadosh Baruch Hu The Holy One Blessed Be He.
With love and
with sweetness,I wish HaShem with ultimate love,a Blessed Shabbos and
sweet Pesach with love,as I wish you all a beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with
love and a sweet and Holy Pesach.
