The Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Vayishlach . This Parsha starts with a ' Vav ' as ' Va, ' which means ' And , ' showing , as so many Parshas in the Holy Torah do , that each Parsha continues from the preceding Parsha , For The Holy Torah Continues Eternally From Creation To The End of Days And Beyond , Eternally . The Haftorah for this Sedra is to be found in Obadiah 1 : 1 - 21 and the Prophet Obadiah Is Blessed By HaShem To Be Given Prophecies Of the future of Edom , which most certainly relates to the Parsha , for the Parsha also speaks of Eisav Edom . Obadiah himself was originally from Edom and this holy prophet became a very righteous proselyte to Judaism and a very holy man . Those who Come To HaShem , Are HaShem's Special Jewels And Treasures . May the whole World Come To HaShem and shine and sparkle , bringing Creation back To HaShem's Beautiful Light . The Shabbos Sedra starts with Yaakov returning home and preparing to face Eisav his brother . Yaakov sends Malachim - Angels to Eisav his brother with a message to tell Eisav that Yaakov had stayed with Lavan , a swindler and an evil man filled with Tum'a Impurity and that Yaakov had overcome Lavan . This was therefore to be a hint to Eisav that he , Yaakov , could overcome Eisav . The gifts Yaakov was sending to Eisav was a show of Peace . So very Holy was Yaakov That HaShem Had Given Yaakov power to command Malachim - Angels . The Malachim returned to Yaakov to tell him that Eisav was headed to meet Yaakov with four hundred men , thus suggesting that Eisav was not intending peace . Some of our holy Rabbonim suggest that Eisav did intend a peaceful meeting with Yaakov . Yaakov prepared in three different ways to meet this possible threat , which was by Tefillah Prayer , Appeasement of the enemy and failing appeasement , Yaakov prepared for War . Yaakov leading in front , separated the droves , putting Bilhah and Zilpah and their children of theirs in front , walking behind him , then Leah and her children next and Rachel , shielded by the holy Spirituality of Yosef last . Each of them carried under their cloak a sword . Yaakov separated each drove , so should Eisav smite one drove Chas Ve Shalom , the others could escape . They reached the ford of the Jabbok and Yaakov had his family go over and then his animals and his possessions . When he returned back over the Jabbok to get the rest of his things ( our Rabbis tell us that he had returned for some of the jugs ) , a man was there with flocks . The man asked Yaakov to help him with his things and that the man would also help Yaakov , even though there were just a few jugs left for Yaakov , but kind Yaakov offered to help and took some of the man's things across . When Yaakov came back to help the man with the rest , those things that Yaakov had already carried over , had returned . And so , Yaakov carried on through the night carrying the man's things , just to have some of them return and more appear . Yaakov asked the man if he was a magician or an evil spirit and a fight broke out . The man attacked Yaakov and they fought till dawn , with dust rising from Earth to Heaven . Yaakov being extremely strong , over-powered and beat the man , but Yaakov himself was injured on his hip-socket , for this Angel in the guise of a man just simply touched Yaakov on this area of his hip socket and this caused a complete dislocation of Yaakov's hip bone socket from the pelvis joint , and so today , we remove this part when eating basar , this part being called the Gid Hanashe . This is indicative of our history , that through time , the nations try to harm us , but we will always survive , though we will be hurt and injured and suffer through the generations . The man was an Angel . The Angel Samael , who was the Angel of Eisav and the Angel of Amalek , the Angel who tempted Chava in Gan Eiden . Yaakov prevailed , as will we , at The End of Days . When dawn broke , it became one of the Time - Watches that Malachim Angels sing Shira - Songs To HaShem and it became this Angel's time and first opportunity to sing Shira and so , the Angel asked Yaakov to let him go . Yaakov said he would only let him go if the Angel Blessed him , thus an acknowledgement of the Blessing given by Yaakov's Father Yitzchak to Yaakov over his brother Eisav . The Angel did so and so was Yaakov then called Yisrael . The Angel , obviously unable to get back up in time , started to sing Shira from the Earth . Yaakov called the Place " Peniel . " HaShem Caused the " Sun To Rise " as it says , which means That HaShem Sent a Special Light From the Beginning of Creation To Help Heal Yaakov . Yaakov and his family continued on their way and so , met up with Eisav and his four hundred men . Yaakov hid his daughter Dinah , which our Rabbis say was wrong as she , being so holy , might have had an effect on Eisav and so , was one of the reasons for what happened to her in this Parsha with Shechem . Yaakov bowed seven times to the ground , in actuality bowing not directly to his brother , But To HaShem's Shechinah and allowed himself to call his brother master and " adoni , " and because of this , HaShem Who Did Not Want us to humble ourselves to Edom , made sure that Eisav would have that many rulers in number to the amount of times Yaakov called his brother by that title before Israel as a nation had a king . The Midrash describes how Eisav tried to keep overcoming his brother , but the meeting between the two ended up peacefully . Yaakov said that he would meet Eisav at a later date at Seir and our Rabbonim take this as a future prophecy . Seir belongs to Eisav . There are other Rabbinical opinions that say that Eisav was actually very friendly and nice to his brother Yaakov at this meeting . The two separated . Yaakov arrived in Shechem and bought a parcel of land and set up an altar there . Yaakov had not tithed To HaShem yet as he had said he would and so is this one of the reasons for his trials and his record constantly being brought up To HaShem for scrutiny . So the next trial came upon the family . The Parsha says that Dinah , " the daughter of Leah " went out to look at a market festival of the Shechemites . We note how Dinah is mentioned here specifically as " the daughter of Leah , " for she , as her Mother Leah , liked to " Go out " as we were told , when in Torah earlier , Leah had gone out in the incident of the Dudaim . This teaches us how our men and women must be modest and keep to ourselves and not display ourselves , but have Tznius Purity and Modesty . Shechem , the son of the king in the land where they were staying , saw Dinah when she ' went out ' from her family to look over the daughters of the land at the festival , which teaches us Jews to not go out to foreign festivals and mix with foreign people and foreign ways , but we are to remain quietly and modestly within our Jewish Community modestly remaining pure and not lower our spirituality by being enticed to a physical way of living that is impure . Shechem desired her and took her by coercive force and raped her . He spoke to his father and asked his father Hamor to get her for him as a wife . When Yaakov's sons heard , they were outraged . They agreed on the surface to Hamor's request , only if the Shechemites would circumcise themselves . Yaakov's two sons Simeon and Levi at the age of thirteen , on the third day after the Shechemites had circumcised themselves , finding out that the Shechemites were planning to attack Yaakov's family , set upon the town and killed all the males and took back Dinah their sister , who by now was carrying within her a daughter who later was born and was named Asenath , who married Yosef in Egypt . Yaakov was upset at their anger and feared reprisals , which did take place , for the nations around them got together and attacked Yaakov and his family . HaShem Saved them with massive dust storms and Yaakov and his family escaped unharmed . We are also told how , after Yaakov and Eisav parted , that Eisav's people did attack Yaakov and his family , but ended up dispersing , as they were beaten and Eisav was injured . HaShem Appeared To Yaakov And Told him to go to Beth-El Luz and make an Altar there and fulfil his promise of tithes . Yaakov rid themselves of all the idols that they were carrying and that they had only taken as spoils from Shechem and these idols were left under the Terebinth near Shechem , in the ground . Torah then tells us that Devorah , Rivka's wet-nurse passed away . She was very close to Rivka , Yaakov's Mother and that she was buried in a place that Yaakov called Allon - Bachus . Bachus ( this word is in the plural and indicates two passings ) means " Weeping . " This part is put in here to tell us that at that very moment , Rivka , Yaakov's Ima had also passed away , but it is not directly mentioned here for no one was there at the time as a close family relative to bury Rivka , except Eisav , whom Rivka would not have wanted to bury her and that all would say she mothered such a Rasha and so , she was buried quietly , for Yitzchak was blind and Yaakov was still on his way to her . This is why the word Allon - Bachus is in the plural , for the double weeping of Rivka and Devorah . So after Yaakov left so many years ago , he never got to see his dear Ima again and it was Devorah who had just come to meet them as they were on their way back to see Yitzchak and Rivka . HaShem Then Renames Yaakov Yisrael and Yaakov set up a pillar Where HaShem Blessed him and called the place Where HaShem Had Spoken To him " Beth - El , " which actually means , " House of G-D . " They journeyed from there toward Ephrath and it was there that Rachel went into labour . It is at this time when a woman is in labour when Satan scrutinizes a woman's account and so was remembered Yaakov's words that whoever has the teraphim will die and so , as she was giving birth to Binyamin whom she actually called " Ben-Oni " - " Son of my Mourning , " that she passed away and Yaakov called him " Binyamin " - " Son of my right hand , " so as to give him a positive name and destiny . Rachel was buried on the road to Ephrath Beis-Lechem , not in the Cave of Machpelah as the Fore-Fathers and Fore-Mothers were , as she would in the future when our exiles would pass this exact place when they were going into Bavel under Nebuchadnezzar , that she prayed for us To HaShem And HaShem Listened To her prayer , for it would be there at that exact place that they , our exiles , would walk past on the way to Bavel . HaShem Would Acknowledge her prayer because as she was prepared to stand aside and not be angry at her sister marrying Yaakov , So Could HaShem Put Aside His Anger At some of us following Avodah Zorah worthless idols , that caused us to go into exile . Yaakov set up a monument there at her burial place which is still there to visit today . The Holy Torah Then Tells us how Reuvein did an Aveirah . This has to be understood in its Hebrew depth . Not that Reuvein Chas Ve Shalom , lay with his Father's wife , but that in each of his Father's Wives tents , was A Couch For The Shechinah Of HaShem , so that Yaakov would know which Tent to go into when conceiving the Twelve Tribes and that when Rachel passed away , Yaakov moved his Couch into Bilhah's tent and Reuvein , standing up for his Mother Leah , moved it out and into his Mother Leah's tent so that his Father should not slight his Mother Leah . We know that Reuvein did not commit an aveirah with his Father's wife for the very next verse says , " The sons of Yaakov were twelve , " suggesting that they were all worthy of being part of the Twelve Tribes and were all Torah Keeping not to break Torah Laws and so this is what really happened , but seeing as Reuvein , as all the others then were Tzaddikim , the punishment for even a slight Aveirah , is great and so Reuvein lost his first born right and so , spent every moment praying To HaShem day and night for forgiveness . Even at the end of Yaakov's life , Yaakov still Blessed Reuvein as holy , so Reuvein's action was never one of taking his Father's wife , Chas Ve Shalom , but it was rather of interfering with The Couch Of The Shechinah and his Father's couch . Torah Then Tells us that Yaakov finally came to Yitzchak his Father , not Rivka , for she had passed away . We are told that Yitzchak passed away at 180 years of age , which was the same year ( according to ' Midrash Bereishis Says , ' by Rabbi Weissman ) that Yosef was released from prison in Egypt . Yaakov and Eisav buried their Father Yitzchak in the Cave of Machpelah Chevron near Mamre . The Torah then goes into the line of Eisav and his wives . We note a lot of incest and intermarriage among Eisav's family . We also note how their arrogance had them calling themselves ' chiefs ' and how the chiefs did not live that long as chiefs , for murder was and is rampant in Eisav's line . Out of Eliphaz , son of Eisav , came Amalek , our enemy who tries to kill us through time , among others . Magdiel , in Eisav's line that is mentioned here , is the ancestor of Rome . We are repeatedly told here how Eisav is the father of Edom . So the Parsha ends . The Sedra is called " Vayishlach , " which means " Sent , " where Yaakov sent Angels ahead of him to his brother Eisav . The whole idea of sending and being An Emissary For HaShem , Takes Great Holiness . It is not always an easy path to travel , as we note with Yaakov's life and trials . We often wonder what exactly is an Angel . If one looks closely at the phrasing of the first three words of this Parsha , " Vayishlach Yaakov Mal'achim " and we read these words in another context , it can almost appear as if saying , ' And Yaakov was sent as an angel . ' The " Vayi " part of the word " Vayishlach , " can be put also as ' And He , HaShem , Sent , ' as if to say , ' And He HaShem Sent Yaakov , as an Emissary . ' So what is an Angel ? An Emissary Of HaShem . We all can be Emissaries Of HaShem if we choose . If we keep HaShem's Commandments In HaShem's Holy Torah . We all can be like Angels , Working For HaShem and not for ourselves . No doubt that real Angels are Spiritual Entities . Even their negative counterparts , are too . Even those spiritual negative counterparts do a job in testing our faithfulness To HaShem , to test us that we are truly following HaShem Only , above our own wants and desires . So to be like an Angel is to be An Emissary For HaShem , Working Solely For HaShem and not for ourselves , just as Yaakov did his whole entire life . No wonder Yaakov can , with a little deeper interpretation , be referred to as one . HaShem Sends us all out As His Angels And Emissaries , To Do His Bidding and make Creation A Place Of Holiness Where HaShem Can Dwell Among us . To make Creation A Place Of Holiness As HaShem Intended , so each of us are HaShem's Emissaries , to use our lives In HaShem's Service to bring all those around us To HaShem . We are all HaShem's Shaliachs Shluchim , like Angels , working to make all things Holy . But how do we start ? With ourselves , for the best way to teach , is through being a holy example to others and to all those around us . The Angel That HaShem Sends , is not to be asked for a name , For It Is HaShem Who Is Important And The Sender Of The Message , for we should all work For HaShem , thus the messenger Is The Hand Of HaShem . The same is with us . To Get Close To HaShem is very beautiful but not just to be done for ourselves . What is Most Important , is to be A Messenger , An Emissary Of HaShem The Holy One Above . This Is The Way To Be With HaShem . To Be The Hand Of HaShem's Sending , in all that we do . We are only HaShem's Emissaries . The World around us has forgotten this and so it sadly goes its own wrong way . This is why the World is in such a bad shape and is suffering so . The way to stop the suffering and change the World To The Sweet And Bright Welcoming Of HaShem , is to change ourselves and do our tasks As Creations Of HaShem , As HaShem's Emissaries , not working for our own way But For HaShem And HaShem's Way , Following HaShem And Doing As HaShem Tells us To Do , starting with ourselves and working outwards . This will bring the Creation to where it is supposed to be and the World will improve . So stand up right now and say To HaShem that from now on , you will be HaShem's Emissary Angel , Working Only For HaShem , Doing All That HaShem Tells you To Do In HaShem's Ever So Holy Torah And Be HaShem's Emissary To All Of HaShem's Beautiful Creation Around you . Let us all make this World , HaShem's Delight As HaShem Created It And Be True And Faithful Shaliachs To And Of HaShem HaKadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Ever Most Forever Beloved HaShem With Utmost And Eternal Love And Faithfulness , A Truly Special And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With So Much Eternal Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , HaShem's Special Emissaries , A Truly Special and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

The Shabbos Parsha is Parashas Vayeitzei . In this Sedra , Yaakov is on his way to bring in the next generation of our Jewish people and this Parsha's Haftorah is in Hosea 11 : 7 - 14 : 10 , which also refers to the progeny of Yaakov . Yaakov , leaving his family , is now on his way to find a wife and become the Father of the Twelve Tribes of Israel . His brother Eisav wanted to kill him and so Eisav sent his son Elifaz , who ended up becoming the father of Amalek ( our greatest enemy ) , to kill Yaakov . Elifaz , very unlike his father Eisav , had learned Torah with Yitzchak , his Holy Grand-Father . Elifaz was one of the men that had come to visit Iyov Job , when Iyov was being tested and it was Elifaz who tried to remind Iyov To Trust In HaShem . Before Elifaz left to go after Yaakov , his Mother Adah advised him not to attack Yaakov , for Yaakov was much stronger than him and so , when Elifaz caught up with Yaakov , not wanting to totally disobey his father Eisav , all Elifaz did was to rob Yaakov of his things and clothes . This was why , when Yaakov arrived at Lavan , he arrived penniless looking so poor . This Parsha mentions that Yaakov departed from Beer-sheba and went ' toward ' Haran . The word ' toward ' suggests that Yaakov did not go straight there , but ' toward ' there thus only arriving there much later . The reason for this was that before Yaakov went to Haran , Yaakov stopped to learn in the Yeshiva of Shem and Eiver , so as to prepare himself spiritually for the evil of Lavan and Yaakov also knew that Eisav would be after him and so a Yeshiva was the safest place . Yaakov had another reason , for on the way , after being robbed by Elifaz and being left without clothes , as he got to the river , a man came and sadly had an accident riding and fell in and miraculously , the clothes appeared outside the river bank and the man disappeared . Yaakov had no choice but to dress in these clothes and continue on his journey . Not fully knowing the meaning of this incident , Yaakov feared that he may be blamed for this man's accident and so , the Yeshiva was to him like a City of Refuge , from the point of Law ( Bamidbar Numbers 35 : 22 - 28 ) of the " Go'el HaDam " - " Redeemer of the Blood " ( the relative of the one killed who can avenge his murdered relative ) , even though he had not done anything wrong , for Yaakov had a very holy and heightened Sense of Conscience and Inbuilt Moral Standing of Right and Wrong and so he felt more anguish at this incident than he needed to . After Yaakov's stay at the Yeshiva , he then headed toward his destination and when he had almost reached it , he realized that he had passed Har Moriah where the Akeidah Revelation had taken place with his Father and Grand-Father at the Akeidah and Yaakov realized that he had passed by there without praying at this Very Holy Site ( which is our Religious Custom to say a Prayer Tefillah At The Site Of A Miracle From HaShem Or Saving By HaShem ) , so he returned all the way back there And So Did HaShem Rewarded him for returning , with a Most Special Vision . So he did not go straight to Charan . This Most Special Vision From HaShem Was The Dream of Yaakov with the Ladder . When Yaakov arrived back at Har Moriah , it suddenly got dark , forcing him to spend the night there . He heard The Sound And Song Of Holy Spiritual Malachim Angels and knew That This Was A Most Holy Place . Yaakov took the 12 Stones that Avraham had used to make the Altar previously for the Akeidah and put them around his head , putting his head as a cushion on one of them , thinking if he is worthy to become the Father of the Twelve Tribes , then all these stones will merge into one and that is exactly what happened , for when he awoke , Torah Tells us in Bereishis 28 : 18 that it was one stone , thus all the stones wanted to be under this Very Holy Tzaddik's head and so they became one and Yaakov knew he would be the Father of the Twelve Tribes of Holy Israel . Yaakov dreamed of a " Sulam " - " Ladder " reaching up to Shamayim Heaven , with its bottom part Earthward with Malachim going up and down upon it . This is the journey of a holy man , who starts on Earth and makes his way Up Toward Shamayim Heaven . Yaakov was thus Given foreknowledge By HaShem of the Kingdoms that will come and attack us , the Babylonian , Persian - Median , Greek and Roman Empires and as he climbed the Ladder in his dream , each rung was akin to a year that we Jews would be in or under these nation's exile . Thus for Babylon , he climbed 70 rungs and then the Angel Sar ( for each nation has its own Sar - or Angel representing them in the Heavenly Court ) of that nation fell and for each other nation , the same thing was shown to him . Yaakov continued to climb higher and noticed that our present exile seemed never ending And HaShem Informed him That it would be a very long present exile , but this exile and it's Sar Angel would also have an end , for each nation has its protecting Angel and only when that ' Sar ' - ' Nation's Angel ' is defeated , can the nation no longer be . Yaakov also saw the Malachim Angels of Eretz Yisroel and the Melachim Angels of Chutz La' Aretz ( outside of the Holy Land ) coming and going . Yaakov as we know was accompanied during his travel and stay in the Holy Land by one set of Malachim Angels which would escort him while there and another set of Malachim Angels that took over and escorted him in Chutz La' Aretz outside the Holy Land . Yaakov also saw some of the workings of the Malachim here on Earth and also going up towards Heaven . HaShem Renewed The Covenant With Yaakov and his progeny And Again Promised us Jews the Land of Eretz Yisroel . The whole idea of the " Sulam " - " Ladder " is as the Hebrew Word also suggests , for "Sulam " also means a ' scale , ' as if to teach us that each and every thing we do , is on a scale , to build ourselves to be more and more Holy every day and as on a scale , everything we do is weighed like on a scale and so , counts for or against us , a means for us to raise our level Of Holiness Toward HaShem , if we grow Holier And Do As HaShem Commands us To Do . Yaakov awoke , realizing The Holiness Of This Place and the 12 Stones had become one ( As Torah Says ) . This Stone , he set up as a pillar and poured oil on its top and named the place " Beit El " - " The House Of G-D . " Yaakov vowed That If HaShem Would Be With him , Guard him On his way , Give him bread to eat and clothes to wear and if Yaakov returns to his Father in peace And That HaShem Will Be G-D To him , then Yaakov would make this pillar A House Of G-D ( And It became so , for this was the site of the First and Second Beis HaMikdashim Temples and is to be the site of the Third Beis HaMikdash Temple to come in Moshiach's time ) and that Yaakov would repeatedly Tithe To HaShem . So Yaakov got up and went on to the destination of his journey . He ended up at a well where three flocks of sheep lay waiting to drink at the Well , covered by a large stone over the mouth of the Well . The Shepherds said , after letting him know that this was the town of his relative Lavan and Rachel his daughter was also coming to the well , that they could not roll the stone away till all the flocks had come . When Yaakov saw Rachel , he alone rolled away the stone that needed many men together to move it . This was the meeting of Yaakov and Rachel . Yaakov kissed Rachel on the forehead and Torah Tells us that he wept , for he foresaw this beloved of his , passing away early . Yaakov told her who he was and that he was a relative and she ran to tell her Father . It had already been decided long ago , that Leah and her sister Rachel would be wives to Eisav and Yaakov and Leah , knowing what kind of person Eisav was , Leah had sadly spent many days crying , which caused her eyes to be pained and inflamed around her eyelids . It was decided then and there , knowing Lavan was a swindler as his name suggests , that Rachel would give Yaakov a sign so he would know he is marrying Rachel . This sign , say our Rabbis , was the three Mitzvos Of Lighting Shabbos Candles , Taking Challah and Niddah Family Purity , that are incumbent on a Jewish Woman . Yaakov was brought to Lavan and when he heard Yaakov had come and remembered that long ago , Eliezer had come with great jewels , Lavan ran out to meet Yaakov and was shocked at the poverty of him and his dress and so Lavan kept trying to feel through his clothes if he might be hiding jewels underneath , but he was not . Yaakov stayed a month and then payment was discussed , for looking after the sheep . Yaakov asked only to marry Rachel and for her he would work seven years . And so Yaakov did work seven years and when the time came , asked for her . Lavan , seeing that while Yaakov arrived and stayed there , Lavan had prospered and had also bore sons , so Lavan did not want Yaakov to leave . So Lavan the swindler , asked the whole town to back him up and they would make a scheme to replace Leah for Rachel . The town's people agreed not to say anything at the wedding , even though they did try to warn Yaakov by singing ' Oy Lay Oy Lay , ' which meant ' Oh this is Leah Oh this is Leah , ' not because they cared for Yaakov , but just so they could say afterwards that they had tried to warn Yaakov . Lavan managed to extract money from the townspeople to keep them silent , which he never returned . At the wedding Lavan replaced Rachel with Leah . Rachel felt sorry for her sister and so , taught her sister the signs and put Leah in her place . Lavan also gave Zilpah when he gave Leah , who was actually Lavan's daughter through a concubine and in the morning , Yaakov realized what had happened . When he asked Leah why she had deceived him , she said to Yaakov that Yaakov too had once , for a good reason , also pretended to be his brother and she did the same ( so what we do , has a return ) . Yaakov was upset with Lavan and asked him why he had done this and Lavan said it is not done in their place to give the younger before the elder and that if Yaakov works another seven years , then he will give Rachel to Yaakov , within the week ( the word 'week' is in Torah - Bereishis 29 : 27 - 28 ) and so Yaakov worked another seven years and just after the Sheva Brochas within the week of marrying Leah , Lavan gave him Rachel and also Bilhah , who was also Lavan's daughter with a concubine . Yaakov , faithful as he was , still worked another seven years for Rachel , even though he married her within the first week after marrying Leah . Leah , Because HaShem Saw that she was unloved , Gave her the first four children Reuvein , Simeon , Levi and Yehudah . Rachel saw that she had no children and told Yaakov to give her children . Yaakov reprimanded her And HaShem Was Upset At Yaakov for this reprimand . Rachel knew of how Sarah had given Avraham her handmaid and so Rachel did the same and gave Bilhah to Yaakov and two more sons were born - Dan and Naphtali . Leah did the same thing with Zilpah and two more sons were born - Gad and Asher . Reuvein went out in the days of the wheat harvest and brought Dudaim to his Mother Leah and Rachel wanted them but Leah said no . Leah bore to Yaakov two more sons Yissaschar and Zevulun , so now Leah had borne to Yaakov half the amount of the Twelve Tribes and so , when Leah conceived the next child , HaShem Judged that the last two tribes must come from Rachel and so , this child of Leah's came out a girl called Dinah ( Din referring to Judgement ) , who ended up to be the Mother of Asenath , who married Yosef . Rachel conceived and bore Yosef and prophetically named him as she did , knowing that there would still be by Rachel another son . It was after Yosef was born , whose progeny have power over Eisav and Amalek , that Yaakov knew that he must return home and face Eisav . So Yaakov asked Lavan permission to go but Lavan , knowing that Yaakov had brought From HaShem Blessings , tried to keep Yaakov there , making one false deal after another with sheep , trying to cheat Yaakov a hundred times . But HaShem Protected Yaakov . Yaakov heard Lavan's sons and Lavan jealous at how wealthy Yaakov had become And HaShem Ordered Yaakov to return home to his family . Yaakov told Rachel and Leah that he wanted to go and they agreed . So Yaakov took his children and wives and livestock and started his return home without telling Lavan . Rachel stole her Father's teraphim ,which were the skulls of dead children to which rituals were done to get these skulls to talk . When Lavan heard that Yaakov had left , Lavan took his men and sons ( who were only actually born in Yaakov's merit Via Blessings From HaShem and it was from one of these sons that the evil Bilaam got born that hated and tried to curse the Jewish people in Moshe's time ) and Lavan hotly pursued Yaakov . HaShem Appeared To Lavan In a dream And Warned Lavan not to do any harm to Yaakov . Lavan caught up with Yaakov and aggressively blamed Yaakov for leaving and asked who stole his teraphim . Yaakov once and for all answered Lavan how he had worked for Lavan for fourteen years for his daughters and six years for the livestock , for which not a single full night did Yaakov sleep , for he cared and watched constantly over Lavan's flocks . It was Yaakov who wrote some of the Psalms that came down to Dovid prophetically for their souls were linked and like one . Yaakov said that with whomever the teraphim are , they shall not live , not knowing that Rachel had taken them . Rachel's time of the month was upon her and so she hid them in the camel packsaddle and sat on it and when Lavan who suspected her , came into her tent to check for his rotten teraphim , she said that she could not get up for the reason that it was her time of the month . Yaakov answered Lavan and even so , Lavan still thought everything and everyone was his , such is the mindset of those that shun G-D or of those that believe in idol worship . For all things Really Belong To G-D . Yaakov and Lavan made a covenant agreement with a stone and Yaakov's brethren took other stones and made a mound and this became a witness that neither was to go over this mound against each other and that Yaakov would not take wives in addition to Lavan's daughters . How deceitful then was Lavan's grandson Bilaam in Moshe's time , for Bilaam took no notice of the agreement between us and them , when he was on his way to curse and hurt us and his donkey took him past here and banged his leg on this very mound so as to remind him of this very covenant agreement between Yaakov's family and Lavan's , a covenant that Bilaam showed openly he shuns and so did the events to Bilaam happen as Torah tells us in Moshe's time in Bamidbar 22 : 25 and the rest of the Chapters around it . The next morning Lavan left and returned to his place , which also means that even though he was in the presence of holy Yaakov , Lavan was a man of evil and negativity and his time with holy Yaakov never made an impression on his negative character to change for the better and become more holy . One cannot even imagine to be in the holy presence of holy Yaakov . Yaakov too went on his way and seeing that he was coming to the Holy Land , the Angels Malachim that had accompanied Yaakov outside the Holy Land left Yaakov to be replaced with Malachim Angels from the Holy Land , that would now accompany Yaakov in Eretz Yisroel . He named this place Machanaim , which means ' two camps ' in reference to the two Camps of Malachim Angels , referring to the Camp of Malachim Angels from Eretz Yisroel and the Camp of Malachim Angels in Chutz La ' Aretz . So ends the Parsha . This Parsha is called Parashas Vayeitzei , where the word " Vayeitzei " means " Departed " for Yaakov is leaving the Holy Land , to continue his destiny toward holiness . It is interesting that in order for Yaakov to grow In Holiness, he was leaving a Holy Place to go to a place much less Holy . Should it not it be the other way around to gain in Holiness . This is similar to Adam Ve Chava , who left Gan Eiden , to come down here to a place more physical and less Holy , in order to work their way back there to Holiness . It shows how sometimes in order to grow , we at times need to go through physical trials and tests in a place less holy , in order to grow above that , In Holiness . We find how in Pirkei Avos , the Mishna says that we are to prepare ourselves in the antechamber ( Earth ) so that we can enter the banquet hall ( Gan Eiden Shamayim ) . No place that we have to be or experience that we have to go through , is ever wasted . All things have a deeper reason . We may not know the reason for the hardships and tests and trials we face or have to go through or overcome , but there is a reason . The whole idea of a Ladder is the same , where the Ladder starts Earthbound and works its way up toward Shamayim - Heaven . Every step that we take is an opportunity to grow Spiritually . We need to sometimes depart from what we know , as Avraham did when he was Told To " Lech Lecha , " for as we said then , the ' Going , ' was for his benefit . Everything That HaShem Does For us , though it may not appear so at the time , is for our benefit . We need to sometimes leave or " Vayeitzei " - " Depart " from our comfort zone , in order to move forward . Heaven is not gained on a silver platter . We need to work toward it all the time , every day , every hour , every moment , to earn it's Beautiful And Special Holiness . Every day for us is a trip up the rungs of the Ladder , Leading To HaShem , if only we overcome the physical Earth-bound World around us and climb above it and our Yetzer Horahs , in order to overcome anything and everything negative and work Toward HaShem , then we will accomplish Gan Eiden . For each step toward Holiness we take , is a step toward Olam Habah , The World To Come , That Comes just after Moshiach will come . The word Moshiach has the Gematrical value of 7 and the period after that into the Spiritual , is the number 8 . Within our Parsha , the word " Vayeitzei , " has a Gematrical value of 6 + 10 + 90 + 1 = 107 and 1 + 0 + 7 = 8 . The very " Vayeitzei " - " Departing " on the journey of growing , leads to Olam Habah . Like holy Yaakov , we are always headed toward our destination . If we are called upon to make certain detours along the way toward our destination , we must not be disheartened , For HaShem Knows All And Knows what we need along the way and that we must hold ever close to Torah along the way as our Mode Of Travel . For that is the depth of the Test . To Stay And Stand By HaShem's Commandments And HaShem's Holy Torah , no matter what , in whatever situation we find ourselves . The physical appearance around us is just that , a physical appearance . The True Truth , Is The Destination Of HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah . That Alone Is The Only True Reality . So walk out of your Earth-bound physicality and " Vayeitzei " - " Depart , " By Following HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah Always , Toward your Only True Destination , HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Ever Most Eternally Beloved HaShem with Deep And Beautiful And Most Eternal And Forever Love , A Very Sweet And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With Sweetest And Deepest Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , A Very Sweet and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

The Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Toldos and in this Sedra we read about the start of the feud between Yaakov ( the Jewish People ) and Eisav and his progeny . The Haftorah for this Parsha is in Malachi 1 : 1 - 2 : 7 and just like the Parsha , it speaks of Yaakov and Eisav . Our last Parsha ended with the previous generation of Avraham and Sarah passing and the marriage of their son Yitzchak and Rivka . The Vav that starts out this Parsha of Toldos , connects the last Parsha with this one , as the next generation continues through the children of Yitzchak and Rivka . Yitzchak was 40 years old when he married Rivka and this was three years after the Akeidah . But Rivka did not conceive . As I explained in the previous Parsha , when Rivka left her home after Eliezer had come to seek a wife for Yitzchak , Rivka's family had made a statement that seemed positive on the surface but was meant as a curse , which they had made with the thoughts of idols about Rivka conceiving and so , to prove that their idols were of no worth , Rivka had to wait 20 years before she could conceive , so that there would be no doubt that the child was not conceived with her brother Lavan and his family's statements to idols , But Only By HaShem Does Creation Come About And Only Through HaShem Does a couple conceive and not by worthless idols of no value . Rivka's family of Lavan who was her brother and Bethuel who was her Father , were from Padan Aram and they were idol worshipers and thus that strain from her side had to be removed from the Jewish People and so did her birth bring two completely different individuals , so that the strain of negativity from Lavan's family would separate itself from the Jewish people , keeping spiritually clear , clean and pure through Yaakov Avinu . Torah Tells us That Yitzchak entreated HaShem " Lenochach " - " Opposite " his wife , for both had gone to Har Ha Moriah , the site of The Akeidah and of the Future Temples and both stood physically opposite each other and prayed To HaShem . We note how in the beginning of Adam Ve Chava , that couple meant for each other were referred to as being " Opposite , " which meant that each is to stand in a relationship together with their spouse , but opposite at times where their spouse is incorrect and so the partner is there to bring their spouse to higher levels , even if it means that they are to disagree so as to build each other up Spiritually In Holiness . In this case , Yitzchak loved Rivka as a spiritual beloved and so they too are referred to in this manner , like Adam Ve Chava were also referred to as " Opposite , " though a different Hebrew word was used there . In this case , Yitzchak acted like a true soul mate for Rivka , though standing " Opposite " each other in prayer , both had the same request and Yitzchak had to physically stand opposite that part of Rivka's family that was against HaShem . So HaShem Allowed Himself To Be Entreated And So By Beloved HaShem's Blessing Did Rivka conceive . Rivka had immense pain while carrying her children . When she would walk past a Holy Learning Centre , there would be agitation and kicking from within her from Yaakov and when she would walk past a house of Avodah Zorah - Idol Worship , there would be kicking and agitation within her from Eisav . The pain was so immense that to an extent she had a minute sense of regret about the conception and so did she lose the opportunity to be the Mother of the Twelve Tribes of Israel that was then passed to the next generation . She literally felt that her insides were pulling in two separate directions and she had to go and inquire Of HaShem , which meant she went to ask at the Yeshiva of Shem and Eiver , where Yitzchak had previously gone to study , after the Akeidah . Rivka was informed that within her , two regimes were within her that would be separated and the might would pass from one to the other and that the elder would serve the younger . Thus she knew that her line through Yitzchak would separate into two separate paths , one holy and the other not , thus ridding the line of negativity from our Jewish Line . Also , this showed that even while still within her , these two regimes had already set themselves different paths to travel , one that would follow HaShem and the other that would not , even though they did not even have proper physicalities yet , the intrinsic holiness of Yaakov was already within him , just as was the intrinsic negativity of the other child , Eisav within that other child . When her term to bear grew full , there were twins within her . Even within her , these two regimes were at loggerheads . Yaakov was to emerge first , but Eisav pushed him aside and came out first and so was Yaakov then holding onto Eisav's heel . Eisav was born already with a full head of hair and teeth and thus red like a hairy mantle almost like a 'completed ' person and so was he named " Eisav " - which means " completely developed , " ( as Rashi explains ) . Seeing as his brother Yaakov emerged holding on to the heel of Eisav , he was called " Yaakov , " which means " Heel . " As Eisav was being born , he wanted to make sure that he would be the only surviving progeny and that there would be no more children through Rivka and so as Eisav was coming out , he ripped his own Mother Rivka's insides and tore at her from within her birth canal with his full set of teeth and fingernails as he was being born , to make sure she would have no more children and so Rivka's Labour also almost took her life Chas Ve Shalom . Eisav already then , had thoughts of killing his brother Yaakov . As the boys grew , Eisav grew to be a man who knew hunting , unlike Yaakov , who was an " Ish Tam Yoshev Ohalim " - " A Wholesome man abiding in Tents " a man who abides in tents ( as referenced in The Torah ) refers to one who studies HaShem's Torah , for the word " Ohel " is like the " Ohel Mo'ed , " - " the Tent Of Meeting " where Moshe Would Meet HaShem And Receive The Laws And Instructions Of HaShem's Torah and so was Yaakov an " Ish Tam " - " a Wholesome man " of purity and holiness , wholesome , Whole In Holiness that completes a person . Eisav was referred to as a man " who knows hunting , " which does not just refer to hunting animals , but also men and also running after and interfering with already married women . And not just hunting and killing other people , but even hunting in reference to getting a man to own up when he did something wrong in a court case . If a man was caught and did not confess to a crime he did commit , the court at the time would call Eisav , for Eisav , being a hunter of men , knew exactly how to trick a confession from a litigant . Yitzchak loved Eisav " for game was in his mouth " and this has a deeper meaning . Yitzchak was not completely unaware of Eisav's weaknesses spiritually , but hoped by not being too hard on him , that this might get him to grow out of it , unlike Rivka who knew before they were born what they each were , as she was told about her children and thus she loved Yaakov more . Eisav would often trick his Father into thinking he had studied , for when Yitzchak would question his son Eisav about what he had learned that day , Eisav would repeat something that he had heard as he was walking past the window opening of a Yeshivah , even though he had not actually gone in and so would he repeat what he had heard to try to trick his Holy Father into thinking that he had actually attended . Eisav would also ask detailed questions of Halachic matters in a way that went beyond the Law , something that was not even a question in the first place , just so as to give the impression of how deeply he had studied , when he hadn't . As an example , he asked his Father how one separates Tithes from Straw , just to show how meticulous he would appear at keeping Halacha , when he knew full well that one does not separate Tithes from Straw . Thus did Yitzchak only with his physicality favour Eisav his son - " for game was in his mouth " which refers to Yitzchak only with his mouth , trusting his son , but deep down knowing better and hoping against hope to bring him around by being softer on him then he should have been . King David too was born with a Reddish tinge in the hair like Eisav ( not as much as Eisav ) but unlike Eisav , David used his strength For And In HaShem's Service , unlike Eisav who went out of his way to disobey HaShem . On one very sad day when Avraham had just passed away , the family was in mourning and so Yaakov was preparing lentils for his Father , a round food , for round food is common at such times , as if to say life is round and goes around . While the family was in mourning , only one member did not feel a need to mourn the loss of holy Avraham and this was Eisav . Where was Eisav that day that had made him so exhausted ? Eisav heard that Nimrod 's son who was also named Nimrod , was in the vicinity and Nimrod who was known for his hunting abilities had a very special garment that would subdue animals , Originally Given By HaShem To Adam , when they were chased out of the Garden of Eden . This Garment , Eisav desired and so he stealthily snuck up on Nimrod's two guards and after a fight , killed them both and spent a large part of the hours chasing Nimrod and finally killing him and taking the Garment . So by the time that Eisav had come back in from the field , he was completely exhausted from the hunt of Nimrod and his guards . Eisav , coming in and seeing the redness of the lentils that Yaakov was making , was attracted to the blood-like colour of it and asked Yaakov for some of it . So was Eisav called " Edom " due to the fact that he was attracted to the redness as a colour , which was to Eisav just like blood - a common character trait of his progeny . Yaakov sat and thought that this Eisav is not a worthy receiver of the Birthright and being such an unholy man as Eisav was , did Yaakov , for us all , make sure to get the Birthright back to and for us where it belonged , which it was originally Yaakov's , had Eisav not pushed him aside in the womb . So Yaakov asked Eisav to sell the Birthright and Eisav , thinking to himself that he had no Spiritual future anyway ( so did Eisav say he is going to die anyway ) , never acknowledged the value of it and Eisav sold such a holy precious gift for a momentary physical enjoyment of a bowl of pottage . Such is the lack of true spiritual intelligence of just desiring the physical ( like Eisav / Edom and his nation ) even if it has no long lasting value just for a moment's pleasure that ends nowhere . Thus must we Live For HaShem and not the physical , for we take nothing with us when our time is up , but our Spiritual growth and level . To give up Heaven for a moment's fleeting physical pleasure is not only unintelligent but destruction in itself . The very fact that Eisav sold the Birthright that was Yaakov's in the first place , actually gave Eisav no right later on , to expect to come to his Father and get the Blessing , for it was no longer Eisav's , who sold his Birthright and thus the two concepts worked hand in hand - Birthright and Blessing . Eisav should have told his Father he could not get the First Born Blessing anymore , for it was no longer his . He ( Eisav ) had sold that which he had stolen from his brother Yaakov long before and so Eisav had no right to think it was his to claim for himself at all . Torah then talks of Yitzchak ( who was not to leave the Holy Land ) being forced to move to Philistia Gerar , due to a famine and how again he did as his Father did , to Avimelech , saying that his wife Rivka , is his sister . We note In This Parsha Here How HaShem Refers To The Holy Torah Written And The Holy Torah Oral , Passed Down in Mishnayos Through The Ages , from Moshe Rabbeinu , only written down long afterwards so as not to lose any part of its learning at the time of Edom Rome . So HaShem , In Bereishis 26 : 5 Refers to " Torosai , " ( a plural word meaning two ) one of the references that proves That HaShem Did Give A Written And An Oral Torah Explanation To It And Its Intricacies Of Law . Avimelech noticed one day how Yitzchak was sporting with his wife Rivka and thus knew that they were husband and wife . Yitzchak became very successful in that land and the Philistines , the ancestors of the Greeks , stopped up the wells that Yitzchak's Father's servants had dug and Avimelech and the people noticing Yitzchak's success over theirs , That Yitzchak Had Been Blessed By HaShem , caused them to kick Yitzchak out . How often this scenario has played itself out in our Jewish History , when the nations would kick us Jews out of their lands with nothing , though all Land Belongs To HaShem . Three Wells are then mentioned , each with a reference to the coming Temples That HaShem Would Give The Jewish People . Even within the names of these Wells is reference to the history of the Two Temples and the Third Eternal one to come . When Abimelech saw how they were not Blessed after kicking Yitzchak out , he came with his general Phicol and friends to try to get Yitzchak back and Avimelech made a covenant with him . So typical of the antisemites of the centuries , who dare even make comments that even though they kicked us Jews out , from country to country and place to place , we should be content that we were not molested in the kicking out - like Avimelech dared say to Yitzchak then in Bereishis 26 : 29 . Eisav continuing with his deceitful ways to deceive his Father , took a Hittite woman and gave her a Jewish name and called her Yehudis . He , Eisav , even tried to show that he too marries like his parents at 40 . He also took Basemath a Hittite and they were a source of Spiritual rebellion to Yitzchak and Rivka . Eisav acts like the Pig that holds its feet up to show it is kosher , but inside it is as treif as can be , for the pig does not chew the cud . Yitzchak was old and his eyes had become dimmed , as our Rabbis say , so that the entire event could take place and so that the right son could be Blessed , for sadly all the years , Yitzchak had closed his eyes to Eisav . Also now , the cursing words of Avimelech came true , for Avimelech had once made a remark about Yitzchak about blindness , when Yitzchak had told Avimelech about Rivka being his sister , when she was really his wife and Avimelech had seen the love between them , showing Avimelech that Rivka was in fact Yitzchak's wife and this angered Avimelech to the point where Avimelech's thoughts spilled out of his mouth . These words carried through and had an effect on Yitzchak later when he had aged . Another opinion according to the Midrash ( Rav Ezra Bick ) , is that Yitzchak went blind due to the Angel's tears at the Akeidah , when the Angel cried on his behalf not to be sacrificed as well as Yitzchak viewing The Holiness And Brilliance Of Heaven at that moment , which effected his eyesight physically , so adds the Midrash ( Rav Ezra Bick ) . And so , the time came when Yitzchak became blind in his old age . Yitzchak called his son Eisav and asked him to prepare delicacies so that Yitzchak could at least be put into a physically content frame of mind so that possibly he could be made able to be in the higher state of mind to bless Eisav . HaShem Had Given Rivka a special ability to know what was in the minds of others and so she knew that Eisav had been sent to prepare delicacies for his Father . She quickly called her son Yaakov and had him put on Eisav's Garments that Eisav that day had left at home and Rivka asked Yaakov to go in to his Father and receive the Blessing . Yaakov objected and felt that he could bring upon himself a curse rather than a Blessing , but his Mother Rivka was prepared to take that upon herself Chas Ve Shalom , to safeguard the right son and our people , whose Birthright and Blessing , Eisav had tried to steal from the very beginning . Rivka took two of her own animals that she prepared and cooked them for Yitzchak and sent them with Yaakov , now dressed in Eisav's Garment and he went in unto his Father . The animals that she took from , were taken from the gift that her husband had given her as part of their marriage contract . But what happened to Eisav and his hunting Game . Eisav that day could not catch anything as forces beyond himself kept freeing whatever he tried to catch and kill and so in desperation , he went and killed and cooked the family dog and that is what he brought in to his Father just after Yaakov had left . When Yaakov entered his Father's Tent trembling , his holiness brought with him the smell of Gan Eiden and this is why , just as Yaakov's address to his Father , Yitzchak wondered who this was in front of him , for deep down he knew that only Yaakov would carry Such A Sweet Scent Of Holiness From The Scent Of Gan Eiden . Thus did Yitzchak ask for Yaakov to come closer and to feel if this was really the son he thought , for Eisav would not come with The Scent Of Gan Eiden nor with the address and words of asking his Father to sit up in such a holy way as Yaakov had said and did . Thus did Yitzchak refer to the person in front of him as one who has the " Voice ( Holiness ) of " Yaakov , but " The Hands of " Physicality and unholiness and deceit of Eisav , for the power of Eisav is in their physical violent hands , but our Jewish Power Is In HaShem And HaShem's Torah that we speak out of our mouths and that we Jews pray directly to HaShem , with our mouths and voice , as all people should . Even when Yitzchak asked who this was , Yaakov answered in a very specific way , as if to say , " It is I , Eisav ( is ) your firstborn . ' In kissing his son , Yitzchak felt his son Eisav could not possibly have An Essence Of Gan Eiden , " the fragrance of a field which HaShem Has Blessed . " ( Bereishis 27 : 27 ) . How sad that Holy Yaakov had to act with the hands of Eisav and act not open , like Eisav does , in order to overcome Eisav . Yaakov did this , not just for himself , but to save his progeny , our Jewish people and ensure that we would get our deserved Blessing , which was ours in the first place , that Eisav right from birth , tried to steal . So Yitzchak Blesses Yaakov , for the time of then , for the time of the future , for his children's time and for Moshiach's time . Just as Yaakov left , Eisav came in and Yitzchak trembled that he may have Blessed the wrong son . Eisav cried three tears as the Midrash says , one from his left eye, one from his right eye and the third one withheld . These tears have hit our people through history . Yitzchak Blesses Eisav with present blessings of Physicality and now , Eisav has a small inkling of what the Birthright and Blessing means , but still not to the depth of what Yaakov is able to deeply understand and appreciate . Here Yitzchak gives the directive for the centuries , that Eisav will only be able to overcome Yaakov , when Yaakov and his progeny , Chas Ve Shalom , casts off HaShem's Torah through the ages Chas Ve Shalom and this is the true answer to defeating our Jewish enemies through time , for as long as we study Torah and keep HaShem's Shabbos And HaShem's Torah And Commandments , no one can do us harm , but if even just a few of our people disobey HaShem And His Holy Torah , then Eisav can cast off our Yoke over him and hurt us . So The Ultimate Answer To Antisemitism and our Enemies , Is To Stay Torah Religious And Torah And Commandments Observant And Keep A Religious Holy Eretz Yisroel . Yitzchak says to Eisav that Yaakov will remain Blessed . Rivka again knowing what Eisav planned to do to kill Yaakov , asks Yaakov to leave and go to Paddan Aram to Charan and stay there , but Yaakov refused to go till his Father would give him permission and so does Rivka approach Yitzchak . Yitzchak called his son Yaakov and asked him to go and take a wife from Rivka's family . Yitzchak , now knowing it is Yaakov in front of him , affirms the Blessing to his son Yaakov of what Yitzchak had Blessed Yaakov with before when he did not know at that time he was blessing Yaakov , thus corroborating The Blessings From HaShem Through Yitzchak To Yaakov and Yaakov is sent to Rivka's family to Lavan , to Paddan Aram to seek a wife . Eisav , hearing that Yaakov had been sent to find a wife , made plans to kill Yaakov and ensure he , Eisav would be the only line left , so he married Mahalath , daughter of Yishmael , planning to engage Yishmael's help against Yaakov , but his plan never came to fruition , for just before the marriage , Yishmael died . It is at this point , that the Parsha ends , at the marrying of Eisav and Mahalath , daughter of Yishmael , among Eisav's other wives . So ends the Parsha . The happenings between Yaakov and Eisav , repeat itself over and over again in our lives . We are each given the choice to travel On A Good Holy Path Towards HaShem , or on a physical self-serving path , that has no future and gets nowhere . This choice is presented to each and every one of us every moment we breathe . Do I Follow HaShem And Do What HaShem Asks Of me or do I follow my own wants and needs and likes and desires and make out that I know better ( which I never can , For HaShem Knows All ) . Do I party all night and have nothing to show for it in the morning , or do I use The Time That HaShem Gives me , constructively and make a future for myself and my soul . Do I Obey G-D And His Holy Torah And Enter Heaven Shamayim , or do I waste every moment I have on trivial nothings that leave one with hot air that is of absolutely no worth at all . Do I Enter Heaven Shamayim , or do I remain Eathbound and find out too late , that I have doomed my own future Chas Ve Shalom . Do I Obey G-D With Love And Selfless Obedience , or do I obey strange nothings that mean nothing and end up nothing and that are nothing , For HaShem Only Creates All . HaShem Only Is G-D . Do I live for the day and follow nothingness and self worthless pleasures , Or Do I Follow HaShem And Make A Place For myself Within Eternity . Choices Choices Choices . Thank You HaShem , for where I end up is surely my own doing . From now on may I choose wisely . May I always choose The Holy Path of Yaakov and Follow HaShem And HaShem's Commandments and so , Have An Eternity With HaShem's Love and may I shun Eisav and his way to nothingness and torment , with no future . What do you choose . I choose The Holy Torah . I choose The Holy Tanach . I choose HaShem . I choose to Truly Live . I choose True Life . I choose Gan Eiden . I choose Shamayim . I choose The Holy Path That Leads To HaShem . I wish Ever Most Eternally Deeply Beloved HaShem With Most Beautiful And Eternal Forever Love , A Very Beautiful And Sweet Blessed Shabbos Kodesh With Deepest Dearest Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Beautiful and Sweet and Ever Peaceful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

The Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Chayei Sarah and the Sedra begins sadly telling of the passing of Sarah . The Haftorah for this Parsha is 1 Kings 1 : 1 - 31. The Parsha and the Haftorah tell of the passing of Holy people , The Parsha with the succession of Sarah and Avraham's generation that would pass to Yitzchak and the Haftorah with the succession from David leading to his son Shlomo . The Parsha begins by mentioning the age of Sarah and it is referred to as the "Chayei " - " Life of " Sarah even though Torah is referring to her passing . Such is the case with holy people , as even though it is their time to pass on , that very passing on , is part of living , for the soul is ever on a journey , whether it is in a body or out of a body , or in whatever spiritual or physical state it is in or within . It is also written in Torah in this way as Sarah and holy people live every day they live For HaShem and not for themselves and this is True Living . We note that Torah separates it into three different periods of years , where it gives the lifetime of Sarah as One Hundred years and Twenty years and Seven years . The reason that it is written this way is that on the day of Sarah's passing at 127 years , Sarah was as free of sin at 127 as she was at 100 years and Sarah was as free of sin at 100 years as she was at 20 years , which according to some sages , is the year a person is responsible for sins they do , though we know also that it is at Bar and Bat Mitzvah age too . Also , Sarah was as innocent and free of sin at 20 years as a person who is an innocent and pure beautiful child of seven years . How did the death of Sarah come to be . When Avraham took Yitzchak to the Akeidah , we are told that Satan came and told her that her husband was about to sacrifice their son . Sarah got up quickly and went to the three giants who lived in Kiriath-arba , which actually means the 'City of the Four ' ( in reference to the four Giants that lived there - Ahiman , Sheshai and Talmai ( Numbers 13:22 ) and their Father Arba ( the name of the place ) ( Midrash Says -Bereishis - Rabbi Weissman ) and Sarah asked them , seeing that they were so tall , to look into the distance to see if they could see her husband and son and they told her that they could see that Avraham was about to sacrifice his son . At that moment of fright , her soul left her body and she passed on and so does Torah say that she died in Kiriath -arba . But why Did HaShem Permit Satan to do this to her ? Here we link up with the Haftorah , for Sarah was so Holy as was King David , that their souls could not be taken in the usual way for they were constantly immersed in Torah , so Satan had to divert their attention from their studies of Torah contemplation so that their souls could be taken . This is what happened with Sarah and the same with Dovid HaMelech , who was also immersed in Torah and Satan had to divert his attention by rustling the trees outside his window , so when he put his head up to look , his soul could be taken . Sadly , their time had come . ( A link between the Parsha and the Haftorah ) . Only HaShem Knows why things take place when and as they do and we are to always trust HaShem , For HaShem Does What He Does For the benefit of Creation And For the person who passes on to the next stage of spiritual development . And as the life of the Jew , who cannot at this time of Olam Hazeh ( The Present World ) enjoy full happiness until the Temple is Rebuilt , so must we go through suffering and cannot truly have full happiness till Moshiach comes , so must we remember the destruction of the Two Temples that we lost . This is why we break a cup at the Simcha of a wedding , so as to remember the destruction of the Temples , even at a happy Simcha . Avraham returned elated after the Akeidah , happy that his son still lives only to find that his dearly beloved wife had passed on and so Avraham needed to seek a burial place for his wife . In the previous Parsha , I mentioned how when Avraham had been trying to prepare for the Angels meals , he had ended up running into the Cave Of Machpelah near Mamre in Chevron and smelling the sweet holiness of fragrance of Gan Eiden in that Cave and knew that this was the place that Adam and Chava were buried in a standing up position and that this was the place of entry into Gan Eiden , so was it this Cave on the plot owned by Ephron the Hittite that Avraham sought as a burial place for his dear beloved wife Sarah and so Avraham managed to purchase this site for our people for all time , but at an exorbitant price . It was there that Avraham buried Sarah his beloved wife and at the same time , reburied Adam and Chava who , till that time could not rest for feelings of what they had done in Gan Eiden and so , with the coming of Avraham and Sarah , when they were buried there , being such holy people that had Brought HaShem's Shechinah back to Earth , Adam and Chava could finally find rest and peace . We note that in The Holy Torah , the word used for " eulogize " is " Veliv'cotah , " where the " Caf " letter is made smaller . This makes the word " Liv'cotah " appear as two separate words " Lev " and " Tah'ah , " where Lev means " Heart " and " Tah'ah " means " Wonder , " as the heart of those who remain in mourning for the one who has passed on , think and wonder so very deeply at the loss of the one who has passed on . With Sarah's passing , the Shabbos Lights that miraculously burnt from one week to the next in her tent , ( because Sarah always lit Shabbos Lights ) were extinguished , as did the Cloud over her tent leave ( because of her modest Tznius ) and the dough baked by her ceased its sweetness and fragrant essence - the three Mitzvos of a Jewish Women incumbent on her specifically . Avraham felt his years and so knew he had to continue the succession and so he called for his beloved steward Eliezer who was in charge of his house , to swear by Abraham's Bris Mila to get a wife for Yitzchak from Avraham's kindred , a wife brought up with the family's trait of Chesed Kindness and even though Eliezer hoped his own daughter might have an opportunity to marry Avraham's son Yitzchak , Eliezer hearing that this could not be , still faithfully did his master's bidding . He took ten camels and his master's bounty and travelled to Aram Naharaim to the city of Nahor , the home of Avraham's kindred , as Avraham instructed , in order to find a wife for Yitzchak . The journey that usually took 17 days , this time miraculously took only a few hours . Eliezer arrived at the well and asked HaShem that the woman who comes and offers him drink and drink for the camels too , will be the one designated for Yitzchak . The Rabbis do not all agree with his action of testing HaShem , for anyone might have come to the well that was not from his master's kindred , But HaShem Made his mission successful , for in that moment that he was just finishing praying this request , did Rivka the daughter of Bethuel , from his master's kindred , come to the well for the first time with a jug on her shoulder and he approached her and requested to drink to which she responded that she give him drink and his camels also. To fully appreciate Rivka's Chesed , one has to realize the greatness of the action that she did on her own as a young female . A camel drinks vast amounts of water for they store water and so she had to , on her own with no assistance , keep running back and forth to the well ( a place of holiness to meet one's intended , for a well is like the Wellsprings Of Torah , just like at the first meeting place of Yaakov and Rachel ) for the camels for each of the ten camels to have their fill . This was truly an act of Chesed Kindness . Eliezer gave her the jewellery and asked about her family and when he heard that she was the daughter of Bethuel , Eliezer Blessed HaShem For HaShem's Kindness Had made his mission successful . Rivka told him of lodging and straw for the camels . Rivka ran and told her family including Lavan her brother , who on seeing the wealthy jewellery , ran out to Eliezer thinking it was Avraham and asked him to come inside . Eliezer waited outside , for he knew that Lavan was an idolworshiper who kept idols in the house , but Lavan told him that he had cleared the house , but even the camels refused to enter . Eliezer entered and Bethuel , Rivka's father thinking that this was Avraham , planned to kill him and take his bounty and so he poisoned Eliezer's drink and food . Some say one or the other . But Eliezer refused to eat or drink till he had had his say for his master and so , did faithful Eliezer tell of his master and Yitzchak and his reason for coming . It was when he sat down and said that Avraham is his master , that they realized that this was not Avraham . During this time , HaShem Sent a Malach Angel who changed around the food and drink so that Eliezer was saved and Bethuel was the one who ended up drinking and eating it and so Bethuel died that very day . This is why they wanted Rivka to wait an extra year or ten months in mourning for her Father . But before Bethuel died , Eliezer proceeded to tell his story and the towns-people wondered if Bethuel would do the same for his own daughter that he forced upon others , which was that when a maiden got married , he Bethuel would be the first to take that maiden and ruin her and so , the towns-people planned that very next day that if Bethuel does not do the same to his own daughter , as he had done to other people's daughters , that they would once and for all attack him and his family , thus the demise of Bethuel actually saved the rest of the family . HaShem's Ways Are So Deep And All-Knowing And Beyond us and our limited intelligence . The family asked Rivka if she would want to go and she said that she would and so they escorted her and her nurse Devorah , who was like a close sister figure to Rivka and Rivka's family gave her a parting curse in the appearance of a blessing saying that she must become thousands of myriads and because of this , her pregnancy was delayed for many years , 20 years in total , so that no one could say it was because of Lavan's idol worshiping family that she had children and so after 20 years , all knew it was not because of her family's words that she was Blessed with children , But It Was By HaShem Only That she gave birth . And so did Rivka follow Eliezer back to his home . On the way , Yitzchak had gone to Daven Pray at Beer-lahai-roi . Our Rabbis tell us that he had gone there , knowing that Eliezer had gone to fetch him a wife and so he felt sad for his Father Avraham and so he went to the South Country to bring back Hagar for his Father . It was there that Yitzchak was first seen by Rivka and when she realized how holy a man he was , Rivka seeing a light around him , she covered her face out of Tznius Holy Purity and Modesty . Yitzchak married Rivka and so was he consoled for his Mother , for when Rivka entered the Tent of Sarah , so did the same three miracles that happened for Sarah occur again in Rivka's holy merit , for Rivka was holy and she was to be the next Mother of our people . Avraham was not totally sure that Eliezer had been totally pure with Rivka on the way for Canaanites were known for immorality and so , HaShem Rewarded Eliezer with entry into Gan Eiden alive when his time came , for Eliezer had remained totally modest and pure to Rivka and a very faithful servant of Avraham . We are then told that Avraham remarried a woman called Keturah , who the majority of our Sages tell us was Hagar with a changed name , for Keturah is like ' ketores ' - ' incense ' for her deeds were sweet smelling , beautiful and modest as incense and also ' Keturah ' means ' Restrained ' for from the time she left Avraham , she never went near another man but remained restrained and so did Avraham have more children but Avraham gave all that he had to Yitzchak and Avraham sent these children away from Yitzchak , to the East , giving them gifts , which our Rabbonim speak of as knowledge and wisdom . Torah then tells us of Avraham's passing at the age of 175 . Avraham passes away at this time so he would not see the idol worship of Eisav . The same format is mentioned here for Avaham , where the years are split into three different periods of years , for the similar reasons that Sarah's years were split into periods , for Avraham lived every moment in holiness and Avraham was as Holy and sinless at 175 as he was at 100 , when he became the Father of Yitzchak . He was as holy then as he was sinless at 70 and he was as fresh and faithfully following HaShem at 70 , as Avraham was at five years , when he spoke To HaShem as a child , when Avraham had on his own , worked out and known at that tender age , That HaShem Is The One And Only G-D And Creator of Creation . Avraham was buried with Sarah in the Cave of Machpelah near Mamre in Chevron , the place where Adam and Chavah were resting . And so , could the first couple Adam ' and ' ' Ve ' Chava now truly be at rest . Both Yitzchak and Yishmael buried their Father and Yishmael gave honour to Yitzchak over himself . In these later years , Yishmael respected Yitzchak's right from their Father and because of this , Yishmael too , had become repentant in his later years and repented of his sins and so was he credited and rewarded by also being mentioned at the end of the Parsha . But he was still not holy as Sarah and Avraham were and so his years were not written in the format of separate periods of years as Avraham and Sarah's periods of years were written . Yishmael's 12 children or princes are listed . Yishmael died just before Eisav married Yishmael's firstborn son Nebaioth's sister , Mahalath . Here the Parsha ends . The passing of one generation to come to the next is not an end of that generation but an advance for that generation that has passed , to go to the next level of climb To HaShem . As it mentions how Avraham " died at a good old age , mature and content , " it shows that Avraham had fulfilled his holy destiny in his life , making each moment of his life , one of serving HaShem , as did Sarah . So should we too be the same , not living for ourselves , But Only For HaShem . Our lives are not ours to waste , but we are to make every moment of it count and use every opportunity That HaShem Gives us , to rise spiritually To HaShem , Keeping HaShem's Commandments and making this Olam Hazeh Present World a true preparation to work within it to enter Olam HaBah The World To Come At The End Of Days And Truly " Live . ' We must not waste a single moment of our lives with frivolity and physical desires and pursuits that have no value or future . Let us all Focus On HaShem , every moment That HaShem Gives us Life and work toward HaShem and truly Live Forever In HaShem's Loving Arms . The very fact that such holy people that passed are described as " Chayei " - " Life of " shows us how , even though they have passed on , they are still with us , within every Jew , through the holy line from them , as they live within us , as long as we keep to The Thread Of Holiness that runs through every Jew , The Holy Thread Of Torah And Torah Mitzvos That HaShem Blesses us With . Through HaShem's Holy Torah we live And Through HaShem's Holy Torah we live eternally , For It Is HaShem's Holy Torah That Keeps us Connected To The Holiness Of HaShem That Runs Within each and every Jew . To be an observant Jew , that strictly follows HaShem's Holy Torah As HaShem Commands us To Do is to truly link to Eternity , To Link To HaShem And HaShem's Intended Direction For Creation . For all is one and we are all HaShem's Creation And HaShem's Living Torah Lives Within us all , if we would only grasp It and take hold of It And Be At One With HaShem's Holy Torah . For To Be At One With Torah and our fellow Jew who follows HaShem's Words Of Torah, is to bring Creation to Olam Habah as one , and to Live Eternally In HaShem's Light And Love . True " Chayei " - " Life " Comes From Following HaShem . It Is HaShem Who Gives Life To all things in Creation And HaShem Teaches us How It Is Through HaShem's Holy Torah That we remain " Living . " Our lives are to be lived every moment For HaShem And HaShem's Creation . To not do that , is to waste The Precious Life That HaShem Gives us . We only have one opportunity as us , to make ourselves Righteous in the physicality that our soul is within and so every moment that we live , must be spent Serving HaShem With Love as our Fore-Fathers and Fore-Mothers did , spending every moment In The Service Of HaShem . People of the World go to strange lengths looking for ways to live forever . If only we would all realize that the answer to that is and has always been right in front of us all along . That Answer Is To Follow HaShem And HaShem's Laws And Mitzvos In HaShem's Holy Torah . Eternal life Is Only With HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah . Thank You Most Beloved HaShem For Giving us Such A Beautiful And Precious Gift Of The Holy Torah , Your Pathway Back To You HaShem HaKadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Ever Most Eternally Beloved HaShem With Forever Love , A Sweet And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With Ever Deepest Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Sweet and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with Love .
