This Shabbos we read a double Parsha of Chukas and Balak . The Haftorah of this Shabbos is Micha 5 : 6 - 6 : 8 and refers to Bilaam for Bilaam features in the Sedra of Balak . The Sedra before ended by discussing the Kohanim and Levites and their Gifts and Offerings and this Parsha of Chukas continues with discussing one of the offerings done for purification . This offering is the Parah Aduma The Red Heifer . This Law is referred to as a " Chok , " which is a Law that is beyond our understanding of why we do it . In fact every Law of the Torah That HaShem Asks us to do , has a deeper meaning that is totally beyond our understanding , So Every Law Of HaShem Has A Deeper meaning to it . There are four places In The Holy Torah Where HaShem Refers To A Law as a " Chok " and the first one is the Law of Yibum , where a man cannot marry his brother's wife , yet if his brother dies childless , he is to perform Levirate marriage with her and our Rabbis tell us this is to bring up offspring for his brother . The next place that the word " Chok " appears is to do with Shaatnez , where wool and linen are not to be mixed , but in the holy garment of Tzitzis , there can be a woollen string thread to a linen garment . Our Rabbis tell us that this possibly goes back to Kayin and Hevel , where one brother Hevel ( Abel ) brought as an offering , from the firstlings of his flocks ( in reference to the wool in Shaatnez ) and the other brother Kayin ( Cain ) brought of the " fruit of the ground " ( in reference to the linen in Shaatnez ) and so we do not mix the two , like we do not mix the negative actions of Kayin with the holy positive actions of Hevel unless they come together in Holiness , like in a holy garment of Tzitzis . Another time that the word " Chok " appears is to do with the Law of the goat that is sent to Azazel , where it brings atonement to all of Israel but makes the one who took it away , unclean . And the next time that the word " Chok " appears In The Holy Torah is here in this Parsha of " Chukas , " where the Red Heifer is discussed . This Law of the Parah Adumah purifies , yet contaminates all those involved in it's a preparation . The Rabbis have tried to explain this " Chok " but it's true meaning remains hidden - why it purifies yet contaminates those involved in preparing it . Shlomo Hamelech , whom HaShem Gave wisdom beyond other men , who knew the intricacies of Astronomy , The Sciences beyond his time , who was on a level to communicate with Malachim Angels and mazikin ( demons ) , who could understand the talk of animals and birds to each other , who could explain any Torah Law with 3000 parables and give 1005 reasons as explanation for any Law ( Gemorrah Eiruvin ) ( Midrash Says Bamidbar - Rabbi M Weissman ) and understood the deep meaning of every Chok , for there were others in The Holy Torah , had to admit that the Law Chok of the Parah Adumah eludes him , when he said in Koheles 7 : 23 " All this I tested with wisdom ; I said ' I would become wise , ' but it ( the Law of the Parah Aduma ) is far from me . " The Law Chok of the Parah Adumah was that a completely red heifer was to be taken that had to be completely red , where even two hairs that were not red would disqualify it and that was without blemish , upon which no yoke had ever been put on it ,( which could be tested that this was the case by checking the hairs on the back of its neck and also if its eyes would squint sideways ) and this heifer was to be given to Elazar the Kohen , son of Aharon , who was to take it outside the camp and someone was to Shecht it in his presence and then he was to take some of the blood with his forefinger and sprinkle it toward the Tent of Meeting seven times . The heifer was then to be burnt before his eyes . The Kohain was to then take cedarwood , hyssop and crimson thread and to throw it into the burning heifer . The Kohen and the one who burns it and the one who collects the ashes were then to immerse their clothing and themselves in water and then the Kohain could enter the camp and the Kohain and the one who burns it and the one who collects the ashes , would remain contaminated till evening . A pure man was to take the ashes of it and place it outside the camp in a pure place . The ashes and water became the Water of Sprinkling . This was used to purify from those contaminated by a human corpse . Our Rabbis of Blessed Memory , surmise that the Parah Aduma is connected in some way to the Sin of the Chait Ha ' Eigel the Golden Calf , for here a heifer is used , as a representative of the Mother that atones for her son's sin , that was the calf in the sin of the Golden Calf . The fact that it had to be totally red was like the blood that was shed when the people made the Golden Calf . It had to be pure , like the Levites who were pure and judged the people and the blood also refers to the shedding of the sinners by the Levites , who killed the perpetrators at the time of the Golden Calf . The cedarwood , hyssop and crimson thread are signs of humility that we are to be humble ourselves before G-D and the fact that the heifer had to be burnt and turned into ashes , like the Golden Calf that was burnt and ground into fine powder and sprinkled over water , like the Heifer's Water of Sprinkling . The fact that Elazar and not Aharon had to take part in it could be a hint to the fact that Aharon had a part in the Chait Ha Eigel and so , his son had to do it . But again , we really do not know the true deep reason for it . Only HaShem Does . I put forward that possibly one of the reasons for " Chukkim , " Laws that we need to follow , without being given a reason , could also possibly have something to do with the fact That HaShem Wants us also to keep Laws Just Because HaShem Says So And Commands us To Do So . That is a Good Enough Reason , For The Love Of HaShem . To Love HaShem Means Doing Whatever HaShem Tells us To Do Without Question . That is a good enough reason . The test then , is in our love For HaShem , that must be above our own personal wants and needs for ourselves . Just a thought . I also , as my opinion , put forward that the idea of the Red Heifer Purifying and making impure the one who handles it , like the animal sent to azazel , can also be like one of the reasons that we are in this World that contains impurity , so that we can rise above that impurity and be holy and pure , by passing HaShem's Tests That we are Given in this World . Again , just my thought . Only At the End Of Days , will Moshiach reveal the reasons for the Parah Adumah , Commanded By HaShem . The Children of Israel arrived at the Wilderness of Zin and settled in Kadesh and it was here sadly that Miryam , the sister of Aharon and Moshe , passed away . In honour of Miryam , The Rock Well of Miryam , travelled throughout our travels in the Wilderness , thoughout the journeys of the Children of Israel . The Manna fell in honour of Moshe and the Clouds of Glory was in honour of Aharon . So when Miryam , who had saved Moshe by watching over him as a baby in the Nile for 15 minutes before Basya came and drew him from the water and also Miryam and her Mother Yocheved , helping to ensure that Pharaoh did not get to hear of the birth of Jewish baby boys , for they were the two Midwives that defied Pharoah's order , so was Miryam honoured with the Well of Miryam that , With HaShem's Creation , Gave all our Tribes water throughout our travels then in Bamidbar , where the leaders of each Tribe would come with their staffs and draw a line in the sand from the Well of Miryam ( which was a Rock ) , to their Tribe and so would a little river of water form From HaShem , to bring water to their Tribes . So once Miryam passed away , The Well of Miryam ceased to flow and the people got agitated . The Eirev Rav said that Moshe must bring water from a rock that they choose and the people complained for lack of water And HaShem Understood their agitation and did not want Moshe to get angry . Moshe and Aharon went from the people's presence and fell on their faces in front of the Tent of Meeting And HaShem's Glory Appeared To them And HaShem Instructed Moshe to take his staff and gather the assembly together , both Moshe and Aharon and speak to the rock before their eyes and so would water flow . Moshe and Aharon gathered the people together before the rock and said , " Listen now , O rebels , shall we bring forth water from this rock , " in reference to the other rock that the Eirev Rav wanted to choose , to test Moshe , but Moshe said he would only bring water from the Rock That HaShem Chose and so , in anger , Moshe raised his arm and struck the rock with his staff not just once , but twice And HaShem Still Brought water From the rock . HaShem Had Asked Moshe to speak to and not hit the rock in anger , but Moshe had disobeyed and Aharon had kept silent , even after the first blow and thus , Moshe had not Sanctified HaShem before Israel , but acted in anger . And so , both Moshe and Aharon were told that they would pass away and not bring the Children of Israel into Canaan . With Moshe and Aharon's holiness , the holier one is , the greater the punishment . HaShem refers to their Aveirah , as not believing in Him . We know that they did believe In HaShem , So Why Would HaShem Say This . Again , my own thought on this , but when Moshe said to the people " shall we bring forth water from this rock , " one of HaShem's Names is the word " Rock , " so in essence , it was like saying , ' shall we bring forth water From HaShem , ' as if to say that he never at that moment had faith in HaShem , that even if it was the wrong rock , HaShem Still Would do it . Rabbi Chananel makes a good point , that in what Moshe said and Aharon never challenged , Moshe should not have said , " Shall we bring forth water , " for it was From HaShem That the Miracle Comes and not from them . Moshe also never obeyed HaShem's Command to speak to and not hit the rock , as if HaShem lacks power Chas Ve Shalom , to bring about a Miracle peacefully , but as if He Needs Force . Thus Moshe and Aharon never sanctified HaShem to the congregation and so were they punished . We also know that they may have committed another Aveirah earlier , with Aharon and the Golden Calf and with Moshe , the bringing along of the Eirev Rav , the mixed multitude of others that were not of the Children of Israel , Even Though HaShem Had Advised Moshe not to bring them and these people were a constant source of trouble , starting the Golden Calf and this complaint about the water and so this last disobeyance was their final judgement That HaShem Had Held Out On For Moshe and Aharon , at the waters of Massah U 'Merivah - the waters of strife . In truth , this Judgement of HaShem , even as our Sages say , is also like a Chok , something we do not fully understand and something that we need to accept , as we must always do With HaShem's Judgement . Interesting how it ended up in this Parsha of " Chukas . " The holiness and faithfulness of Moshe knows no bounds , for even after this Judgement on him , Moshe still worries About HaShem and his people , in obeying HaShem with regards going through Edomite and Amorite land As HaShem Commands Moshe to deal with these two nations . Moshe requests that we be permitted passage through our old enemy Edom's land , but Edom refuses us entry . Edom goes out with his army and because this Nation's time is not yet up to be defeated , we go around them . We arrive near Mount Hor and it is here That HaShem Gives Moshe the sad news that Aharon is to pass away . And so , the next morning , Moshe takes Aharon up the Mountain with Aharon's son Elazar , who is then dressed in the vestments of Aharon and so Moshe and Elazar take Aharon into a prepared cave where Aharon is to lie down and pass away With A Divine Kiss Of HaShem , in Heavenly Priestly Garments . When Moshe and Elazar come down to the people , they suspect that Moshe has caused Judgement on Aharon and they complain and disbelieve Moshe And So HaShem Brings Upon them , Amalek , who dresses in Canaanite garb , so that if Moshe prays against Amalek , they thought their spiritual real selves would be hidden , But HaShem Sees To their being beaten anyway By His People Israel . Of course , since Aharon had passed away , So Did HaShem's Clouds of Glory that had come in Aharon's honour , also leave . Again the people complained about the Manna , And HaShem sent fiery serpents To bite the people . Moshe , On Command By HaShem , made a Copper Serpent on a pole , ( copper because it's Hebrew word ' Nechoshes ' is the same as the Hebrew word for ' Snake ' Nachash ' and all that looked at it were healed . It was not the serpent that healed them , but the fact that the people looked upward Toward HaShem . This copper snake lasted generations and was eventually destroyed much later in Jewish history by King Chizkiyahu , where by then it had been called ' nechushtan , ' for people had sadly started to worship it as an idol . The people journeyed on And HaShem Performed For them a Miracle , where they were not even aware of how the Emorim had planned to hide in caves on either side of a canal on high mountain peaks and crags and had planned to destroy us by dropping on us large boulders as we went through . HaShem Caused the two sides to bang together , thus killing those above that were waiting for us . And so , by Arnon brook , the people , after seeing the blood in the water and the enemy articles suddenly come dropping down , realized the great Miracle of Protection That HaShem Had Performed for us there and so they sang a song of thanks To HaShem . So Often Does HaShem Protect us without us even knowing it and we think we had a clear passage , For HaShem Always Watches Over us . Our people came to the border of Sichon's land and Sichon did not permit us entry and so HaShem Commanded That Sichon king of the Amorite and his people be destroyed and so Moshe killed the Giant Sichon and the Children of Israel defeated the people . The people turned and ascended by way of the Bashan and our old enemy Og ( who was the one who warned Avraham about Lot's Capture so that Og could pull Avraham into the battle and hopefully get him killed so that Og could take Sarah ) went out against us to battle with his entire people at Edrei . Og was the direct son of the fallen angel Shemchazael , who was a fallen angel in Noach's time who had procreated with human women . Og had also sought Bilaam out , grandson of Lavan ( brother of Rivka , who married Yitzchak and Father of Rachel and Leah and Bilhah and Zilpah , who married Yaakov ) , so as to get Bilaam to curse Og's enemies before the Children of Israel had even gotten there and so had Og been so successful , or so he believed , But It Was Actually HaShem Who Had Caused events to go as they do , for Israel's sake . HaShem Assured Moshe that Og would fall just as Sichon had and so did he and his sons and all his people . The Children of Israel journeyed and encamped in the plains of Moav on the banks of Jordan opposite Jericho . So ends this Parsha . The next Sedra of Balak continues from here , just after the protectors of Moav , Og and Sichon were destroyed and so , the people feared Israel and thus called upon Balak , who was not even a Moabite to lead them to victory . Balak had once had a prophecy from Bilaam , that he would come to power and so when the time came , Balak called upon Bilaam so to come and curse the Jewish people . Balak knew we could not be beaten physically as we had HaShem's Assistance and knew that our power , as Bilaam told him , was in our words to pray To HaShem and so Balak decided that words of curse was the attack he needed and so Balak who was also a sorcerer who knew the place to curse from , needed Bilaam , who was well known for knowing the time of HaShem's Wrath so that Bilaam could curse people , so both came together to try and destroy us . Balak was the son of Tzippor , which has a deeper meaning , for the Hebrew word ' Tzippor ' means ' Bird ' as Balak used to use dead birds to fortune tell . One day , his dead bird that he had worked with by certain rituals that was able to fly , came flying back with fire chasing its tail and instead of speaking future events , it died . Balak then knew that an enemy that would beat him , was on the way and so he and Bilaam , who had an old hatred for Israel from Bilaam's grandfather Lavan , came together . Balak sent emissaries a few times to Bilaam , to come and curse the Jewish people but each time G-D Told Bilaam not to go . In fact , the emissaries would remain each time and Bilaam used them for debauched purposes . Eventually Bilaam was persuaded to go , but said he would only say What HaShem Says . Bilaam , as the prophet to the nations for the nations were also given their opportunity to have a prophet so that they could not say that we Jews had Moshe and they never had anyone , hoped to go to Balak hoping that HaShem May Change His Mind and let Bilaam curse us , But HaShem Changed the time of Day 0f His Anger so that when Bilaam kept trying to curse us , HaShem Would Change the hour of the day That HaShem Would Sit In Judgement so even though Bilaam knew the time of HaShem's Judgement of the World , HaShem Changed the time , for the sake of Israel . While Bilaam was on the way , HaShem Tried to remind Bilaam of the agreement between his family from Lavan and Yaakov's family and descendants , that we both had a standing agreement not to come near each other past a certain pillar , made in Yaakov and Lavan's time , but Bilaam ignored this agreement , even when his talking donkey , whom Bilaam cruelly kept as a partner , kept stopping and going other ways , so Bilaam banged his leg into this very pillar as a reminder to Bilaam of the agreement of his family and ours , but Bilaam was intent on wanting us hurt so he ignored it . Bilaam was one of the three advisors to Pharaoh , who always tried to get Pharaoh to hurt us and was the one responsible for asking Pharaoh to kill our first born when the other two advisors Yisro , who wanted to save us and Iyov Job , who chose to say nothing , were the three advisors to Pharaoh . This was the Bilaam who always hated us . Even when these three men had sat and advised Pharaoh against little Moshe when he ( Moshe ) had taken Pharaoh's crown and put it on his head and Moshe ended up putting the coal in his mouth , this was the Bilaam who wanted Moshe killed and had put a curse around the Egyptian border to prevent any Hebrew from leaving . This was the Bilaam , whose donkey had spoken up , the donkey that had been around since Creation , the donkey that Bilaam kept beating , when it tried to stop Bilaam from proceeding . This She - Donkey died by Satan , to save us and Obey HaShem , when the Angel Satan stood in the way of , to impede Bilaam . It is here in this Sedra that the word ' satan ' first appears . Not as an evil angel , but the term means ' as an opposition or hurdle . ' For once things are going smoothly in our lives , the angel Soton , comes to impede us , not to hurt us , but to get us to wake up and realize How Much HaShem Gives us and that we must appreciate HaShem , which happens , when we get tested , that if we do not have all the wonderful things , will we still follow HaShem . Bilaam comes and meets Balak and so , as Balak keeps trying to choose a place where he can find some bad in Israel so that Bilaam can curse us from there , all they find is our holiness and no holes to use to exploit to curse us and Bilaam says the famous words , that even appear in our Davening , " How goodly are your Tents O Jacob , " for the Tent openings pf the Children of Israel , were placed in such a way , that the tent opening of one family never faced the tent opening of another , so that neither could see into the neighbour's tent and so , keep family purity and modesty and Tznius . Our Tznius and Family Purity Laws Kept evil at bay And HaShem Was Not Angry . Bilaam even prophesied into the future , Because HaShem Let him see the glorious future of our Jewish people , even till Moshiach's time . No matter how many times Bilaam tried , HaShem Protected us from his curse and every curse he made , HaShem Turned into a Blessing . Balak got more and more angry with Bilaam until Balak wanted to chase Bilaam away . Bilaam saw that the only way to get HaShem To be Angry with us , would be to get us to do something immoral and so , he organized the setting up of a market and stalls , to where he had females dressed up in order to entice the Jewish men to commit acts that were akin to the following of their idol , by getting them to do an act that was a way of following their idol baal And So HaShem Got Angry with us . In fact , the leader of the Tribe of Simeon was Zimri son of Salu who disrespected Moshe where Moshe at the time of this incident was teaching Aharon's grandson Pinchas , Torah . Zimri blatantly brought into his own tent , the Midianitess woman Cozbi daughter of Zur , who was actually the daughter of Balak , who was himself a Midianite by birth , as was Bilaam . The Midianitess women had caused the Jewish men to sin . Simeon's leader Zimri , did not care at all , to take this foreign idol worshiping woman directly past Moshe's tent and bring her into his own tent . Pinchas , the son of Elazar , the son of Aharon , could not take the disrespect and act of immoral impurity , that Zimri was committing to his teacher Moshe , and directly in front of his eyes and so , Amid HaShem's punishing the perpetrators And HaShem's Command To slay the perpetrators who had attached themselves to baal peor , Pinchas stood up amid the assembly , taking his life at risk into his own hands and performed a Kiddush HaShem , to honour Beloved HaShem's Name and the name of his beloved teacher Moshe and Pinchas stood up in front of the nation and bravely on his own , followed the Israelite man Zimri into Zimri's tent , picking up Moshe's weapon and pierced them both , Zimri and Cozbi , directly in front of the Simeonites ( Zimri's Tribe ) , who could have killed him And Then Did HaShem Stop the Plague from the Children of Israel . Those who died in the Plague , were four thousand . So ends this Parsha . Only HaShem Knows All things . We know so little . We so often think we have answers to all the things that happen around us , but we really do not know anything at all . We are so small and not even a speck on the horizon , that we should never ever be anything but humble . HaShem Gives us Many Holy Laws , But Only HaShem Knows The Deep Reasons within them . The Entire Creation is like a " Chok , " for no matter how many theories we think we can come up with for HaShem's Reason For Creation , Only HaShem Truly Knows Why . We can only feel , that as our Sages say , HaShem Created all things , So As To Give Of His Goodness and no doubt , this is totally true , Creation still remains the sweetest mystery , That Only HaShem Holds The Key To Knowing And Answering . Only HaShem Knows The Mysteries That He Created In Creation . Only HaShem Knows The Wonders That He Created In The Universe and in fact Universes ( as we are just beginning to discover ) . What we do know is That HaShem's Mitzvos , HaShem's Chukkim , HaShem's Laws of His Holy Torah , do help protect us , for they keep us within the guidelines Of The Laws Of Creation . They have carried us through the centuries , through many that have wanted our hurt and harm , they have ensured our protection , for following them , has protected us from Bilaam and those like him , through the centuries . HaShem's Holy Laws , whether we understand the Why's or not , be they Chukkim of not , are our Path to The Safest Haven of all And That Is HaShem and our Journey through this physical World , our Path To HaShem And His Created Heaven Shamayim , The Seat Of His Love , for us to abide within , By The Path Of HaShem's Torah Light . We might never have most of the answers . But you know what , that is Okay , for as long as we have HaShem's Laws Of Torah , we are safe , whether we know the reasons for some Laws or even if we do not , we still know that our love must be great enough For HaShem , to know That HaShem Protects us , whether we know the meanings to all things or we do not . Knowing the Why's is secondary . Doing What HaShem Wants , Must Always Come First , For HaShem's Knowledge Is Beyond Vast and we can surely trust That The All-Knowing G-D , Knows All Things for us to be safe and trust in whatever HaShem Tells us To Do . In that , is our Love Of HaShem , Our Trust and Faith in HaShem and our Obedience to HaShem's Word . HaShem Is His Word And HaShem Is Our Only G-D And Creator And Only HaShem Made All Things . Only HaShem Made Creation And That Is All There Is To Have To Know , as a reason for all the Why's . Whatever HaShem Asks Of us , let us always do . HaShem Is our Creator and The Creator of all things past , present and into the future and so , May we always follow HaShem To His Oneness and Always do As HaShem Asks us To do . Such Is The Real Act Of Love As HaShem Loves us And Does All Things For our good . Creation is a Mystery . Only HaShem Knows The Answers to that Mystery . Our Task is to trust HaShem and do Whatever HaShem Says And Commands . So from now on , let us all do that , as we assured HaShem we would when we said before we knew what was in the Torah , that first we will do and then we will listen " Na'aseh Ve Nishmah , " for first must we obey and trust The All Knowing HaShem . Thank You HaShem For All of Your Creation And Thank You HaShem For You . I wish Most Eternally Beloved HaShem With Forever Lasting Love , A Very Special And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With Deepest Forever Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Very Special and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

The Shabbos Parsha is Parashas Korach . In this Sedra we read of a Levite relative of Moshe called Korach whose descendant was Shmuel Samuel the Prophet which explains the choice of Haftorah for this Sedra , which is 1 Samuel 11 : 14 - 12 : 22 . In this Parsha , we learn of the long reaching negative affects of not appreciating What HaShem Gives us and the position that one attains in life That HaShem Gives us . Korach was not satisfied with being a Levite of high station and wanted it all and ended up causing so much Machlokes Strife amongst the people and this Parsha tells us of this and what did happen to him and those that stood with him . Korach was the cousin of Moshe Rabbeinu , from the very holy son of Levi , Kohath . It was this Tribe that was given the right to carry The Holy Ark and The Holy Articles of The Tabernacle . So as Moshe responded to Korach who had used the same words to Moshe , Moshe said to him , ' is it not too much , oh Son of Levi , ' for , to carry such Holy Articles , should have been enough of a great Kavod but sadly , for Korach it was not . It was from this holy side of the Tribe of Levi that Korach descended . Korach always felt that he was meant for greatness . He foresaw that his descendant would be the holy Prophet Shmuel Samuel ( The subject of our Haftorah ) and Korach was the son of Yitz'har ( as mentioned at the beginning of this Sedra ) to show his illustrious family line . " Yitz'har " has within it the Hebrew Word " Yatzar , " which means ' create or make ' ( Shilo Hebrew Dictionary ) , which shows a high status with regards to the word ' create , ' for it suggests a closeness with HaShem , The One And Only True Creator . On the other hand , the word " Yitz'har " also has within it the word ' Yetzer ' which means ' inclination , ' like the word ' Yetzer Horah ' - ' the evil Inclination ' and so within Korach was a choice that he could either choose to be very holy or fall to his Yetzer Horah and turn out the opposite . Sadly he followed the latter choice . Korach himself , was a man of division , strife and Machlokes , so much so that even his own organs within him did not agree with each other . In fact his own hair on his head was separated on the left and the right , thus forming an empty middle patch and pathway in the middle where the hair separated on the left and right , leaving a balding line in the middle . The word " Korach , " means ' separate or balding . ' The Gematriah of his name comes to 100 + 200 + 8 = 308 and 3 + 0 + 8 = 11 and 1 + 1 = 2 , not one , showing that he was not one with HaShem , but lived a life choice of two different conflicting opinions . Korach was also one of the wealthiest men that ever lived and in Egypt , he was put in charge of Pharaoh's treasury and thus when the redemption from Egypt came , he did not want to leave , for he hoped that at the destruction of Pharaoh , he might be put in charge of that treasury . One day , he came across Yosef's secret wealth , hidden among the rest of the wealth in Egypt that belonged to Yosef and Korach took it for himself , making him extremely wealthy to the point that when he left Egypt , he had with him man and maid-servants that saw to his every need and these were some of the Eirev Rav , Canaanites and Egyptians that went with . Korach's wife like him , was never satisfied with their present status and both always wanted more status and higher honour and position and so she constantly prodded and pushed him further over the edge . When he would return home , she often questioned him and both of them belittled Moshe and the things that Moshe would Command From HaShem . After the incident of the Spies that we read about in the previous Parsha , Korach saw that the atmosphere was rife for rebellion and so he thought as did his wife that now would be the time to take his stand . The last Sedra ended with instructions on the Tzitzis and then this Sedra of Korach continues . The reason for this Sedra carrying on straight from the one before about Tzitzis , is that it was the issue of Tzitzis , that Korach chose , to come to Moshe on and challenge him once and for all . Korach would often privately with his wife , question Moshe's relating Of HaShem's Commandments . One day , Korach came home to his wife and his wife asked him what he had done that day . Korach in anger , related how he among other Levites , had been told to stand before Aharon and Moshe and be lifted and waved , for the preparation of their service . Korach's wife told him that Moshe had just made this law only to ridicule him . Instead of Korach's wife being an Eishes Chayil like On's wife ( On is mentioned in this Sedra ) , Korach's wife constantly prodded him for her own status and benefit . Korach then related the Laws of Tzitzis and that they need a Techeiles String of Blue . Again she mocked this as did he , telling her how the blue has to come from a creature called the Chilazon . And so they carried on and once and for all Korach chose to confront Moshe . But he would not do that on his own . He chose to go around from tent to tent stirring up strife and division and Machlokes , using every possible thing he could twist to gain support . Near him , was the Tribe of Reuvein and so , did he approach that Tribe and specifically two of their members , who were brother in law to each other , Dathan and Aviram , from the Tribe of Reuvein and also a Reubenite called On . Korach knew already that Dathan and Aviram held an antagonism to Moshe . Dathan was the one who in Mitzrayim Egypt , Moshe had saved from being beaten by the Egyptian Taskmaster , over the matter of Dathan's wife Shelomis and when the following day , Shelomis' brother Aviram was arguing with Dathan not to divorce his sister , Moshe had come along and tried to stop their bickering and they warned him . It was this Dathan and Aviram who had gone to Pharaoh at the time to report on Moshe for what happened to the taskmaster and it was this incident of reporting on Moshe , who had actually saved Dathan , that had caused Moshe to have to leave Egypt . This was that Dathan and Aviram . " On " that is mentioned here as well is not mentioned again as he started out standing with these rebels but his wife constantly talked him out of it and told him to stand with Moshe . Also , when the time came to go before Moshe , On's wife gave him something that would put him to sleep and she and their daughter sat outside their tent with their hair uncovered so that Korach or his followers , when coming to call him , would have to turn around and go rather than converse with another man's wife of uncovered hair , thus On's wife and daughter saved On's life by making sure that On would not go with Korach that day . In fact , On's wife insisted that On go and apologize to Moshe for even taking part , but On refused , feeling too guilty to face Moshe , so she called Moshe and Moshe came to him and so he apologized to Moshe and Moshe forgave him . Such is the difference of the wife of On and the wife of Korach , where a holy wife seeks to improve her husband's holiness but an unholy wife seeks to pull her husband down with her . Such is a true Holy Eishel Chayil . Korach , using every persuasion in the book , like saying that Moshe makes up his own Laws and only chooses his brother for Kohein Gadol and his close family for high positions and that Moshe had no right to shun the first-born , for Levites as all of Israel is holy equally ( he meant only himself ) and that Moshe had no right to have the spies destroyed and so Korach managed to get the support of 250 men of the Children of Israel ( leaders of the assembly ) to stand with him against Moshe and Aharon and thus against HaShem . Korach got a lot of support from the Tribe of Reuvein , for he persuaded them by winding them up about them being shunned as the Tribe who was first born among the Tribes and having to take a back seat . Levi's line through Kohath had their position near the Tribe of Reuvein . So Korach and Dathan and Aviram stood before Moshe and Aharon with the 250 men , men of renown . They all appeared before Moshe and Aharon so as to mock Moshe , by these 250 men all wearing Tzitzis , but not as commanded , for they had made Tzitzis totally of Techeilis Blue . Korach challenged Moshe on this , saying ' can they wear a garment totally of Blue ' and he also challenged Moshe on the other points I mentioned that Korach had gone around saying to the others . Korach challenged Moshe's position as Leader and most of all , challenged Aharon's Appointment as Kohain Gadol , for this position Korach wanted for himself . In challenging this , Korach was Challenging their Leader and more so HaShem , Who Had Appointed them . Aharon stood quietly by , not responding to Korach's attacks against Aharon's Appointment of the High Priesthood , for Aharon himself felt totally unworthy of the position and Aharon was also a very humble man . Moshe defended Aharon's honour and reminded Korach and the followers that Aharon had not chosen this position for himself and nor had Moshe , But That It Had Come Straight From HaShem Directly As Had Everything Else that Korach was complaining about . In Pirkei Avos Chapter 5 : 20 , we are reminded of how there was not even agreement among Korach and his own followers , for even they did not agree amongst themselves . Such is the bitterness and evil of Machlokes and Strife . Moshe reminded Korach how Aharon had lost his two beloved sons and certainly it was not a position Aharon had personally chosen , but Korach did not stop . Moshe fell on his face . Moshe begged them to stop and pleaded With HaShem For Peace And Guidance . HaShem Answered and so Moshe told them that they were to return the next morning and for each one to take his fire-pan and put fire in them and place incense upon them " before HaShem tomorrow and the man Whom HaShem Will Choose - he is the holy one . " Moshe felt that Korach and the others should be satisfied with their positions and not want more and so as I mentioned , Moshe said to Korach and those of Levi who were dissatisfied , " It is too much for you , O offspring of Levi , " to rather be happy With What HaShem Has Given them . By now Dathan and Aviram had left and returned to their tents , so Moshe summoned them but they refused him , their very holy leader . So in his humility and caring , Moshe himself humbly went to them to plead for them to stop this . When Moshe came to them , they did not even stand up for him , but remained seated . They accused him of bringing them out of Egypt and they totally shunned HaShem , by daring to call Egypt a land flowing with milk and honey . A Description That HaShem Gave us Only For Israel , not for Egypt which was a land of suffering and slavery and taskmasters and killing of our First-born . They accused Moshe of bringing them all out to die in the Wilderness and of trying to dominate them and accused Moshe of not bringing them to the land of Israel when they knew that it was the people's fault for shunning HaShem And His Gift of the Land and the evil report of the spies and almost all the people whispering in their tents against HaShem , that they had to wander in the Wilderness for the 40 years . Moshe had enough and knew that their offerings that they were wanting to offer was against Halacha , for only a Kohain Priest can take the offerings and prepare them and so , Moshe asked HaShem not to turn to their gift -offering , given only for their own benefit . Moshe told Korach to be with his assembly before Aharon the next day , with their fire-pans as instructed and so that is exactly what happened . The next day Korach and his followers all arrogantly stood before The Tent of Meeting with their fire-pans . The Glory Of HaShem Appeared To the entire assembly . HaShem Spoke And Told Moshe And Aharon to separate themselves from amid this assembly And HaShem Said That He Would Destroy them In An Instant . Moshe and Aharon fell on their faces to try to save the others And So HaShem Told Moshe To tell the assembly to get themselves up and away from all around the dwelling places of Korach , Dathan and Aviram and Moshe obeyed . It was then that Moshe Asked of HaShem A Miracle for the sake of all the others that the others may know That HaShem Is The One Who Is Commanding All These Things and so as to make sure that the others would not believe otherwise , A Neis - A Miracle For HaShem's Sake was needed and so Moshe asked that these evil men not die a natural normal death But That HaShem Make a Miracle And Open the Earth to swallow them and they descend into the pit of Gehinnom alive , As A Kiddush HaShem . As soon as Moshe had finished speaking , So Did HaShem Make the Earth open up and swallow them alive and their households and all those with Korach , in reference to those who served him and his wife and Korach's entire wealth . The Miracle Was So , that afterwards , the Earth closed completely , leaving no trace of an opening . All Israel fled in fear lest they too be swallowed alive . Only Korach's three sons survived , for they were holy and did not go along with their Father , rising when Moshe walked into their tent , even though their Father did not want them to . And so , did the line of this family go down to Shmuel Samuel the holy Prophet . Korach's sons composed Psalm 48 , which is said on the second day of the week , the day in Creation That HaShem Separated the waters , for Strife and Separation is not a good thing ( where on this day in Creation , it is the only day That HaShem Does Not Talk of that day being good , for separation took place on that day and separation like Machlokes is not good ) , which is what Korach caused and so his sons wrote this Psalm . HaShem Sent A Flame That Consumed the 250 men who had offered the incense . Seeing as they had intended to make an offering To HaShem using the fire-pans , these fire-pans had become holy and as in Halacha , that which is set aside for a holy purpose cannot be used for a mundane thing And Thus HaShem Commanded Moshe To tell Aharon's son Elazar to pick up the fire-pans from amid the fire , throw away the flame and make them into hammered out sheets as a covering for the Altar and so it was done . On the morrow , the entire assembly complained against Moshe and Aharon about what had happened to Korach and his followers , so Moshe and Aharon turned toward the Tent of Meeting And The Cloud Covered It And HaShem's Glory Appeared . HaShem Told them To remove themselves from this assembly And HaShem Would Then Destroy them in an instant . Again , they fell on their faces . Moshe quickly told Aharon to take the Fire-pan and put fire on it from the Altar and to go quickly to the assembly and provide atonement for them for the fury Had Gone Out From HaShem , For HaShem Had Sent the Malach Angel Kesef , Where It Was HaShem Who Had Brought A Plague . Aharon obeyed and stood between the dead and the living and so , the plague was checked . This was something that Moshe had learnt from the Angel of Death , when he was up With HaShem on Har Sinai . HaShem Then Commanded That Moshe tell the Children of Israel that each Tribe take a staff , according to their Father's House , twelve staffs , each man inscribing on his staff , his name and also Aharon for the Tribe of Levi and lay them together in the Tent of Meeting before The Testimony , Where HaShem Meets With Moshe and the man That HaShem Will Choose , his staff will blossom , so as to cause the complaints to subside against HaShem and Moshe and Aharon , of the Children of Israel . And so did Moshe do and so did the leaders of the Tribes obey . Moshe specifically put Aharon's staff in the middle and not on the outside so that none of the Tribes could later say that because Aharon's staff was put on the outside , it must have touched the Holy Place and thus budded . So Moshe made sure that Aharon's staff was not on the edge of the staffs but in the middle so that they would not be able to make out that it budded because it was on the outside touching the Holy Place . And so it was done . On the next day , Moshe came to the Tent Of Meeting and so Aharon's Staff of the House of Levi had blossomed , bringing out a blossom , sprouting a bud and " Shekeidim " - " Almonds " ripened . " Shaked " also means " hurry , " For HaShem Waited Not A Moment Longer To Ensure That His Will would be seen by all And When HaShem Chooses something and the time arrives for that thing to take place , no more waiting takes place And HaShem Fruitfully Hurries To Perform it . This will be like the time of Moshiach , for though he tarry and we await his coming , when he finally does come , it will come like a flood , in a hurry , with no more waiting . And So HaShem Instructed Moshe To bring back the staff of Aharon before the Testimony as a safekeeping , as a sign to rebellious ones and so that their complaints should cease to HaShem , that they not die . How Beautifully Merciful Is HaShem . Moshe obeyed , As HaShem Had Commanded . HaShem Then Talks Of the duties of Aharon and the Kohanim and Mentions the 24 Gifts to the Kohanim and also the Tithes to the Levites . So ends the Parsha . We may think after reading this Parsha , how terrible it was of Korach to make this division and Machlokes against the Leader Moshe and against HaShem . Yes , it was a terrible thing he did and so he sits even till today in Gehinnom . A story was told of how one day , a very famous Rabbi was walking in the desert and he came across a hole in the desert and heard a man screaming the same words that Korach screamed as he was on his way into the opening , " Moshe Was Right , Moshe is the Leader , HaShem Was Commanding Moshe , I was Wrong . " The Rabbi asked who this voice was and from deep down in the pit , the Rabbi heard that this was the very Korach who had caused this division and was now in Gehinnom . The miracle was not just that the Earth Opened up and swallowed Korach and all that was his , but also , as I mentioned , that it closed up again , just as if it had never opened in the first place . HaShem Had Performed A Miracle . Not just that , But HaShem Had Also Brought the lower opening of Gehinnom , close up to the Surface of the Earth so that when the Earth opened up , Gehinnom's opening would be right there . So yes , Korach does sit even today in Gehinnom and out of Mercy , will only come out when Moshiach Comes . But though we may view Korach as bad and doing terrible things , are any of us so different . Have we also at times , argued with our Holy Sages and With HaShem , as if to say and wrongly think that we know better , even though we never can know better than Hashem . HaShem Is All Knowing . So are we so different . Aren't there many who turn away from HaShem's Laws or lessen on them , Chas Ve Shalom . Aren't there many who think that they know better than HaShem , Chas Ve Shalom and so , wrongly make up their own paths that will definitely not lead to where they want it to , because they should rather follow HaShem And His Holy Way Only , For Only His Way Is The Way To HaShem And Holiness . HaShem Wanted To Make A World That would be At One With Him . A World that would seek Only His Closeness . Sadly For Him , We have done the opposite . We make strife wherever we can . We all want to go our own way . We all wrongly think deep down that we know it all , which we certainly do not and we all think that we are the only ones who have the answer to Heaven . But no we are not . We are just mere mortal human beings that do not even know our tomorrow . But HaShem Does . Yes , HaShem Knows All Things . ' To Be At One With HaShem , ' we have to ' Be With HaShem As One . ' We cannot do our own thing or follow our own heart , no matter how we might think we are right . Only HaShem Is Right And Only HaShem Knows All And Only HaShem Can Be Right . In this Parsha , we also learn the difference between being grateful For All That HaShem Gives us and the position and station in life That HaShem Gives us and not coveting what others have , For Only HaShem Knows what station and position each person needs , in order to grow . We also learn in this Sedra the difference in life that a Holy wife can make , for in the case of Korach , his wife pushed him further toward destruction , unlike On's wife that saved her husband from destruction . The true Jewish partner , is one that helps and assists their spouse toward greater humble holiness and toward closer humble closeness with HaShem . Let what happened to Korach and his followers teach us that no matter how sure we may be that we have the answers and think that we are right , that is only our own limited personal feelings and view on things . The Creation Is So Much Bigger And Deeper Than us . We know hardly anything , if anything at all . Our Pathway To HaShem Is like Moshe , to be Humble and Follow The Only True Truth And Torah Truth , The Only Path That Takes us To Shamayim Heaven And To HaShem And That Is The Path Of HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Ever Most Eternally Beloved HaShem With The Sweetest Of Forever Love , A Most Special And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With Eternal And Beautiful Sweet Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Most Special And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh with love .

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Shelach . Due to what took place in this Parsha , we were not able to enter straight into Israel , but had to wander in the Wilderness for forty years , for in this Sedra we learn of the negative report of the spies about HaShem's Gift To us Of The Holy Land . The Haftorah for this Sedra is Yehoshuah Joshua 2 : 1 - 24 and in this Haftorah , Joshua also sends two spies Pinchas and Kaleiv , to spy out Yericho Jericho , but these two spies do the correct thing in promoting HaShem and not Loshoning HaShem and HaShem's Gift , unlike ten of the twelve spies did in the Sedra . HaShem Starts The Parsha By Saying That HaShem Spoke To Moshe , " Shelach Lecha Anashim Veyaturu " - " Send forth men if you please to spy out . " Why Would HaShem Talk Of sending men and then when they go and return , HaShem Punishes them and us . To answer this , let us have a closer look at the words . The Word That HaShem Uses For " Spying , " is the word " Veyaturu , " when the usual word for ' Spy ' is ' Meragel . ' So What Is HaShem Trying To Show us . Within the word " Veyaturu , " is the Hebrew word ' Yoter , ' which means ' More or Abundant . ' So What HaShem Was Actually Asking the spies , was to go and see for themselves and bring back word of the Land's Abundance , to show the people the Beautiful Land That HaShem Was Lovingly Giving them , but what they did was the exact opposite , for in saying that this was a land that devours it's inhabitants , they were directly lying and completely contradicting What HaShem Had Commanded Of them . No wonder HaShem Was So Angry and also how they went around dishonestly telling all the people when they got back , that this was certainly not a Land of Abundance , but how it is a Land that devours its inhabitants . What an outright lie and slander of the Beautiful Blessing Of Abundance That HaShem Was Giving them And us , that the spies chose to ignore and twist around . So how did this all take place with the Spies . It started when the men came to Moshe , as the Children of Israel were nearing the border of Israel and asked Moshe to let them be sent to spy out the land . This was never HaShem's Wish or Idea . Nor was it Moshe's . The people , nearing Canaan , felt that when they go into the Land , they will need to work the Land and Fend for themselves , for throughout their journeys through the Wilderness , HaShem Took Care Of their every need And Surrounded them With The Clouds of Glory . They knew of the many nations in Canaan and thought that they would have to fight wars to gain possession of the Land . This was not true at the time , for had they entered into the Land at that very time , HaShem Would Have Miraculously Blessed them With It , but seeing that this sad happening with the Spies took place , the Land had to be fought for later on at the time of Joshua . So the people approached Moshe , saying that they needed to spy out the Land so they could plan ahead for the campaign . They persuaded Moshe to agree to send them for this reason , but Moshe was still reluctant and said that he needed to first speak With HaShem , to get permission for this for by right , we should have total faith In HaShem's Assurance of how good is this Land And That HaShem Would Take Care Of our enemies . So when Moshe approached HaShem , HaShem Did Not Want spies sent and Felt That this action and their wish was a lack of faith In HaShem And This Is Why HaShem Says " Shelach Lecha " - " Send for you " not for Me . This action was never sanctioned By HaShem , Who Knew what the spies would do . But HaShem , when a person is set on a path of negativity , HaShem Allows their free choice , to lead them down that path they choose . And so HaShem Let them go and do what they so wrongly chose to do , Knowing their motive . But In HaShem's Mercy , HaShem Said to choose " Anashim " - " Men " of renown , leaders , men of stature and high position , so that they could have the wisdom enough to still try to do the correct and right thing and bring a good report , but they had other ideas . A person , at any stage and point can still make their own choice . Moshe told them that they can go , hoping in his mind that they would see how good the Land is And What Blessings HaShem Was Giving them and so end up doing the right thing . Thus HaShem Said " Shelach Lecha " - " Send for you " not for Me , For I HaShem Know The Land is Good , As HaShem So Many Times Tells us In His Holy Torah . And so , Moshe sent a leader of each tribe , distinguished men of renown . Even in the names of the ones chosen as the spies , except for Joshua ( from the Tribe of Ephraim ) and Kaleiv ( from the Tribe of Yehudah ) , are the essences of rebellion . Also in each of their names was the hint of words that would positively bring about Obeying HaShem , so that they could fairly have chosen the Right , Good and Holy Path . But they sadly did not . " For the Tribe of Reuvein was Shammuah son of Zaccur , " where Shammuah is like the Hebrew word 'Shomeah ' which means ' to hear ' and ' Zaccur ' has reference to ' rebellion . " For the Tribe of Simeon , Shaphat son of Hori " has reference to ' Shofeit ' - ' A Judge ' and ' Har ' - ' Mountain , ' as if to say he judges from high up and far away to whatever suits his own needs and not the closeness of the people . From the Tribe of Issachar , Yigal son of Yosef " where the word ' Gal ' - ' Wave ' intimates that his nature was like a wave going back and forth with the tide , moving wherever it suits his own personal agenda . " For the Tribe of Binyamin , Palti son of Raphu " has the word ' Pelah , ' which has reference to ' levelling ' and " Raphu " has within it ' Ropheah ' in reference to being in need of levelling and healing within him , thus showing that he levelled or put down Miracles and was in need of Spiritual healing , being more physically minded then he ought to have been . " Raphu " like ' Refuah ' - ' Healing ' could also have meant that he could have brought Spiritual Healing to the nation and " Palu " - ' levelling ' could have been levelling ones ego and being humble . From the Tribe of Zevulun , was Gaddiel son of Sodi " where the word 'Gad ' refers to physical strength and ' Sod ' refers to being secretive , thus his character displayed secretiveness and trust in his own strength and not In HaShem's Strength . " For the Tribe of Manasseh , was " Gaddi son of Susi , " where again ' Gad ' represents strength and a ' Sus ' is a horse that runs at the first sign of danger , leaving its rider to face the threat , making sure it saves itself and thus his character was also a belief of strength in his own self and not In HaShem , where he unfaithfully bolts and leaves HaShem and whatever he is put to face , to just save his own skin . " For the Tribe of Dan , Ammiel son of Gamalli , " where ' Ammi ' makes reference to being with his own group of people who have chosen the wrong behaviour and ' Gamal ' refers to a ' Camel ' that is very temperamental and not totally faithful to its owner rider , as he was unfaithful to HaShem in rebelling against HaShem , with the other spies . " For the Tribe of Asher , Sethur son of Michael , " where ' Satur ' has reference to arguing and putting down something of belief and ' Macher ' refers to one who goes in for physical increase , thus ignoring HaShem . " For the Tribe of Naphtali , Nachbi son of Vophsi , " where ' Nach ' refers to resting and not acting , in this case for HaShem and ' Nachbi , ' ( Shimon Zilberman Dictionary Hebrew English ) means ' hidden ' for so was he hidden and not straightforward with HaShem and the nation and ' Vav ' refers to a ' hook ' pointed on which to hang physical things . " For the Tribe of Gad , " Geuel son of Machi , " where ' Galus , ' refers to being in exile , shunned By HaShem and ' Macah ' (Zilberman's Dictionary ) refers to ' hits and blows ' and physical actions against the holy way . Moshe had an idea that the Spies might try something negative and so , to the spy from Ephraim , Hoshea son of Nun , HaShem Through Moshe , Added a letter Yud , a letter In HaShem's Name , so Hoshea became Yehoshuah , so as to give Joshua , HaShem's Strength against the Spies . Moshe then sent them and gave them certain things to look out for , hoping that they would not look from their own biased opinion , but rather be fair and holy . When the twelve spies returned after forty days , ten of the Spies answered most of Moshe's questions with an ulterior motive from their own negative point of view , sadly twisting everything that they saw , to the bad . Moshe had them enter Canaan Israel through the South , the same direction that Avraham used when he entered the Land . The Spies entered , already planning to put down the Land wherever they could , but Yehoshua and Kaleiv defended HaShem and the Land . The Spies found that Iyov Job was made to pass away , so that the inhabitants of the Land would not have any Spiritual Kavod protecting them and they saw also how the inhabitants were sickly , Where HaShem Had Put On the inhabitants , a sickness so that the Spies would go unnoticed and remain safe and unharmed , but the spies twisted this around with remarks of the land being uninhabitable and devouring its inhabitants . A total lie , for they could see the sweetness of the Land . On the way , they came to the region of Chevron , to the Cave of Machpelah , where Adam Ve Chava and our Fore-Fathers Avraham , Yitzchak and Yaakov and our Fore - Mothers Sarah , Rivkah and Leah were buried . Kaleiv chose to remain there for awhile so as to pray at this Holy Site , so as to beg for strength against the plot of the other Spies , for he thought that he needed extra protection against their negativity , for he was not given a previous Blessing of protection by Moshe , From HaShem , like Yehoshuah was before leaving to go and Spy out the Land . As I mentioned , HaShem In His Mercy Still Tried To Mercifully Help the Spies , by bringing a sickness upon the inhabitants of the Land so that the inhabitants then of the land would not be able to have the mind to take note of the Spies . Also , as I mentioned , the holy man Iyov Job whose holiness protected his surroundings , was made to pass away at that time , thus the inhabitants of the Land would lose the Kavod of his righteous protection . But sadly the Spies had other ideas . As they journeyed near Chevron , they came upon the children of Anak ( the giant ) , who were Talmai , Sheshai and Achiman , where Anak , was the son of Arba , from whose name , that place also known as Kiriath Arba came from , where Arba - Four in Hebrew , also referred to the Four Giants that lived there . The Spies became so afraid that they tried to pronounce HaShem's Name , but because of their negative motives , the Giants never ran away , but chased them from there , telling them that their time to conquer the land had not yet come ( not realizing How HaShem Had Still Saved their lives . They took a bunch of Grapes from the Valley of Eshkol that was so massive and beautiful , that it took eight of the spies to carry it . One other spy took a fig and another a pomegranate ( Midrash Bamidbar Says - Rabbi M . Weissman ) . Yehoshuah and Kaleiv never carried these fruits as they knew the Spies ' negative intentions . The Twelve Spies returned after the forty days and went straight to Moshe and Aharon , without even respecting Moshe and Aharon's position . They started out telling of the Land positively , talking of the pools of milk and honey in it . And when they had the attention of the people , they turned deceitfully around and started to Loshon This Beautiful Gift Of The Holy Land That HaShem Wanted To Give us and they played on the fear of the people , talking of Amalek and Giants , to put fear into the people's hearts to melt the hearts of the people . Kaleiv stood up against them , reminding them Of HaShem's Miracles in Mitzrayim Egypt and saying how we can conquer the inhabitants there In Israel . The Spies carried on talking and throwing The Gift Of HaShem , of the Land , back into His Face , by making such vile comments about how it is a land that " devours its inhabitants , " When In Fact HaShem Had Only Protected the Spies during their sojourn while spying . They completely contradicted themselves by calling the people there " huge " which actually shows it is not a Land that devours its inhabitants . By now , the people were in a frenzy . They referred to the children of Anak , calling them Nephillim , who were the fallen ones in Noach's time , where there were only a small few left as the family of Anak . They referred to the opinion of Anak for us as being that " we were like grasshoppers in ' our ' eyes and so were we in their eyes , " thus showing that it was from their ( the Spies ) own eyes and their own negative points of view that the Spies saw themselves small and not from the point of view of Anak at all . Joshuah and Kaleiv tried their best to stand up For HaShem and the Land and contradict the evil report of the Spies , even reminding the other Spies How HaShem Had Saved us At The Yam Suf , but to no avail , the people would not listen . The Spies ran from tent to tent , till all the people were in mass hysteria and cried all that night , for no reason at all , For HaShem Had Shown us His Almighty Love And Protection Throughout , Fighting our battles For us , but the people that night cried out in vain , for no reason . That night was the night of the Ninth of Av , the night we cried out in vain for nothing And So Did HaShem Say That we cried for no reason on that night , so from then on , HaShem Would Give us a reason to cry through the centuries on that night , which became the night of Tisha B'Av ( The Ninth of Av ) . It is on the date of this night of the Ninth of Av that we Jews have suffered throughout the centuries , for our total loss of faith In and disobedience To HaShem and Ungratefulness Of His Goodness To us Throughout the years . It was on and around Tisha B' Av , that we lost both our Holy Temples . It was on this very date , that the Chmielnetsy massacres took place in the Ukraine about 400 years ago . It was on this date , that the Expulsion from Spain took place just over 500 years ago . It was on this night that the city of Betar fell to the Romans and our bodies were left lying on the ground , with no Roman permission to bury them . It was on this date that The Final Solution was promulgated , in the holocaust . It was on this night that so many calamities have happened to our Jewish people and still we cry and shed tears , for the effects of Tisha B'Av will continue till Moshiach's time . The Children of Israel murmured against Moshe and Aharon , calling for us to return to Egypt , calling for an appointment of a new leader to lead us back to Egypt . Moshe and Aharon fell on their faces in prayer to try save the people . Joshua and Kaleiv tore their garments and tried their best to defend HaShem And His Land , but the people tried to pelt them with stones . The Glory Of HaShem Appeared In The Tent Of Meeting To all the Children of Israel , Asking Moshe how long we will provoke Him and not have faith In Him , after all the Signs That HaShem Has Performed For us . HaShem Said He Would Destroy us and Make of Moshe and his descendants a more powerful nation then them . But faithful and humble and selfless Moshe still prayed for us to be saved . Moshe , having learned the Thirteen Attributes of Mercy at Har Sinai after the people had sinned with the Chait Ha Eigel , When HaShem Taught him these 13 Principles Of Mercy to use whenever he needs to seek mercy for us , chose to pray with 8 of these 13 principles , to attain mercy for us , the other 5 principles he knew he could not use in this case due to the nature of the people's lack of faith and sin . Moshe continued to pray and beg for forgiveness for us And HaShem Forgave because of Moshe's words , But Commanded That none who left Egypt would see the Land then , except for Kaleiv and Yehoshuah and the women who did not sin in this sin , they would see the Land of this generation , but not the others who had tested HaShem , these ten times . The Ten Spies who had slandered the Land died in a Plague before HaShem . HaShem Commanded That we turn back toward the Wilderness and so , for every day that the spies spied out the Land , we would spend a year in the Wilderness and so , we spent 40 years between Egypt and finally entering into Canaan Israel . Also , it was decreed that every year at this time on Tisha B' Av then , the people between the ages mentioned would have to go out and dig their own graves and lie in them , where they would die . This carried on year after year , until the year before they came to the border of Canaan , where on that year that they went out to dig their graves and lie in them , they found that the next morning they were still alive . They did this every night for the next few nights , thinking that maybe they had gotten the date wrong and by the time of the 15th of Av , when they saw that there was a full moon , they realized that they had not mistaken the date And That HaShem Had Lifted this particular Decree and so they rejoiced and this day of Tuv B'Av - the 15th of Av , became a day of rejoicing . When the people heard All The Decrees Of HaShem , they mourned and some wanted to go up toward Canaan against HaShem's Decree , realizing that they had sinned , but Moshe warned them that they must not go up , For HaShem Will Not Be In their midst and the Amalekim and the K'na'anim would kill them , but they did not listen and so when they tried to go up , the Amalekites and Canaanites struck them and killed them . The people started to think they might sin again and that HaShem May never let them into the land , So HaShem Mercifully Gave them the Commandment of the Libation , that is performed in the Land of Israel , to let them know that they would perform this Commandment one day in Israel . HaShem Also Commanded about taking the portion of the Challah as Lehafrish Challah Al Ha Issah , that was a portion For HaShem , given to the Kohanim . Today , we burn that portion . HaShem Commanded About Atonement for unintentional idol worship , but for an intentional sinner of idol worship , they are to be cut off . A man was found gathering wood on The Shabbos and he was placed in custody and Moshe asked HaShem what was to be done to him . HaShem Commanded That he be taken outside the Camp and be stoned to death . And so it was done . The name of this person is not mentioned here , so as not to embarrass him , for our Rabbis say that he did this action as a show to what happens to people who break HaShem's Laws and Shabbos . Though we know his name , Rabbis say we are not to mention it , for he is known . May we all keep HaShem's Commandments Always . HaShem Then Commands About Tzitzis Fringes that we Jewish males are to wear on a four-cornered garment . The Tzitzis are a reminder to us of the 613 Commandments in The Holy Torah Of HaShem To The Jew . The word " Tzitzis " comes to 600 in Gematriah and with the 5 knots and 8 strings on each corner , we get 613 , the number of Commandments to A Jew . The four corners represent the four directions of Creation , where we are to fill every corner of Creation With HaShem's Mitzvos And Light . The Letters Of HaShem's Name " Yud Key Vav Key " comes to 26 in Gematriah and 2 + 6 = 8 , thus the 8 strings on the Tzitzis , are a Sweet Carrying Of HaShem with us as we wear it . The Tzitzis are a very holy garment , worn by the Jewish male And When HaShem Mentioned This Mitzvah , HaShem Also Commanded About the one blue Techeilis string as part of the 8 strings on each corner , which was taken from a water creature called the Chilazon so as to represent the colour of Shamayim Heaven . In today's times , that Creature has been hidden from us , for we are now not worthy to have the colour of Shamayim near us , so we put a longer strand of white right now for it . We are to look at the Tzitzis and remember The Commandments Of HaShem and do Them , remembering All The Commandments Of HaShem and being Holy To HaShem . HaShem Says , " I Am HaShem your G-D , Who Has Removed you from the Land of Egypt to be a G-D unto you ; I Am HaShem your G-D . " So ends the Parsha . This Parsha of " Shelach " - " Send " is so filled with meaning , as is Every Part Of The Torah . The whole idea of being sent , has a lot of connotations . We need to realize that we , of our own mind , sometimes speak for HaShem , Even Though HaShem Never Commanded such a thing . We are all servants Of HaShem our G-D . So we need to realize that seeing as Creation is not ours And That HaShem Is All - Knowing , we need to have Total Faith And Trust In HaShem . The very fact that we are servants Of HaShem means that in essence , HaShem Gives us life and so " Shelach " - " Sends " us out to make His Creation Holy and A Place For HaShem To Dwell With us . So when the " Shelach " - " Sending " is According To HaShem's Command And Wish , That " Sending , " that " Shelach , " is in accordance with Creation , and It's Path to The End of Days and It's Intended Completion . But when we send ourselves out on our own wants , desires and wishes , we think incorrectly by making out that what we are doing is what HaShem Wants even though it is not and so we delude ourselves and hurt Creation at large and we sadly wrong HaShem and His Beautiful Gift of Creation . HaShem Gives us all life so that we can be His Messengers Of His Light And Holiness , For The Life That HaShem Gives us , Is Actually HaShem " Shelach " - " Sending " us out On His Will . To defy that , Chas Ve Shalom , is to defy Life and It's very meaning , The Very Life That HaShem Gives us and when we do not do As HaShem Commands us To Do , it halts the Coming of The End Of Days Olam Habah . We are not here for selfish reasons . We are not here to fulfil meaningless physical desires of no long lasting value . We , you and me and all of us , are here as Messengers " Shelach " - " Sent " From HaShem , to Bring HaShem Into Everything That Is . Doing this , will also benefit us all , for a Spiritual Existence is so much sweeter and more beautiful than anything physical can ever be . It Is True And Eternal . It Is True Holiness . The word " Shelach Lecha " is 10 Gematrically ( 300 + 30 + 8 + 30 + 20 = 388 and 3 + 8 + 8 = 19 and 1 + 9 = 10 ) , the number of Completion , bringing all Creation to Completion , from the Time That Creation Was Created , to Completion , with HaShem's Ten Pronouncements That HaShem Used To Create Creation and that 10 of Completion , becomes 1 + 0 = 1 , where we are all At One With HaShem Who Is One . Such a Beautiful Existence Is Truly " Shelach Lecha " - " A Sending for you " for us and our benefit . HaShem Does it all for us , you and me , Not For Himself . Such a " Shelach , " is the step with Moshiach into that holy time into the End of Days , Olam Habah , the Time of 10 , of Completion , where we are At One With HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu , The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Ever Most Beloved HaShem With Deepest And Sweetest Eternal And Forever Love , A Most Beautiful And Sweet Shabbos Kodesh With All My Love and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Sweet and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With Love .

This Shabbos we read Parashas Beha'aloscha . The previous Sedra ended with the Tribal Leaders bringing their offerings and thereafter , Did HaShem Speak With Moshe From The Top Of The Cover That Was On The Ark Of The Testimony , From Between the two K'ruvim . The only Tribe that had not been called upon Spiritually to bring their offering , was the Tribe of Levi . Moshe's brother Aharon felt that he had not been called upon with his Tribe of Levi , assuming That HaShem May Still Be Upset With him about the Chait Ha Aigel , the Golden Calf and so , our Rabbonim teach us That HaShem Started Out this Sedra , With A Very Special Mitzvah For Aharon and the Tribe of Levi . HaShem Spoke To Moshe , Telling him To speak to his brother Aharon that " Beha'aloschah " - " That when he kindles " " the Lamps , toward the face of the Menorah shall the seven lamps cast light . " This would not be like the once off offering that each of the Tribes gave , but that this Very Special Offering action of Aharon's would be a Continuing Mitzvah . The Menorah would have , among the Levites , a Very Special Connotation , for at a later date , the descendants of Aharon , the Levites of the Chashmonayim , the Hasmoneans would , on Chanukah , come and rededicate the Menorah . We all remember The Beautiful Miracle From HaShem , of the one cruze of pure Olive Oil that lasted much longer than it would have or could have , for the full Eight days . The Love And Mercy Of HaShem Is Endless . May we all always follow HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah Commandments and Obey HaShem Only . The Haftorah of this Portion is Zechariah 2 : 14 - 4 : 7 and just as with the Torah Portion , The Haftorah also speaks of the Menorah . Aharon would every day clean out the Menorah and re kindle it and as Ohr HaChaim puts it , it would be like building a new Menorah every day , by his lighting . The face of the Menorah refers to the Central Stem where the other Lights would be directed toward It . The Central Stem is like the one that represents our soul within us , That Is Part Of HaShem's Love and is thus like The Face Of HaShem Looking Within and From Within us all . The Menorah had to be of one hammered out piece of gold , all of one piece , just as we are to be At One With HaShem and at one with our fellow Jews , United With HaShem , United With HaShem's Holy Torah . In the Hebrew , before the word " P ' nei " - " Face of " are the words " El Mul , " which actually means " Opposite to " and thus shows us that when we are standing opposite To HaShem , facing HaShem , standing In Front Of HaShem , HaShem Facing us , it means that our face , faces HaShem and so , we are standing Toward HaShem . This is how we must always be , Facing HaShem and never turning away from HaShem . All our actions must always be Toward HaShem For HaShem Is Always In Front Of us . The Menorah was so detailed That HaShem Showed what it looks like To Moshe when Moshe was on the Mountain , for Moshe asked for an explanation of it and how it was to look so that Moshe could understand the Menorah's Holy detail . The picture of the Menorah does not appear among the Script Of The Torah , only a comment That HaShem Had Shown It To Moshe . This shows us that there is more within the Torah That HaShem Told Moshe to write in words And These Other Things That Moshe Was Taught And Told Were Thus Told Orally In Depth Coming Down To us via the Oral Torah - ' Torah She Be Al Peh , ' Depths Within The Written Word ' Torah She Bichtav . ' So to learn The Holy Torah , we must study It in depth , word by word and letter by letter and all that are within and our Oral Torah explanations given originally By Moshe Rabbeinu , From HaShem's Mouth To Moshe and from Moshe's mouth down the generations till today and beyond . So Moshe made the Menorah and all that it was to contain on it , out of one hammered out piece of Gold . Though HaShem Gives us His Light Of His Most Holy Shechinah , Within the Holy of Holies , HaShem , Wanting us to be at one With Him And His Light , Still Asks us to contribute to This Light , by us kindling our own light , for Light is like our Neshoma , our Soul within us and we are to raise this Light of our soul , via Torah Observance and Obedience To HaShem and so , Join As One , With HaShem's Eternal Light . HaShem Then Asks Moshe To Purify and Consecrate the Levites into the Service . Aharon and Moshe was to wave them as a Wave Service before HaShem . This gives us an idea of how strong Moshe and Aharon was , for Moshe and Aharon had to lift and wave each Levite in one day and that means , they lifted and waved , on their own , With HaShem's Help , 22 000 Levites in one day . HaShem Then Explains the age of and work of the Levites . HaShem Teaches Also About The Passover Offering and how we are to make the Pesach Offering . There were , at that time , some men who had been contaminated by a human corpse . Our Rabbis tell us that these were either the men that were handling and carrying Yosef's coffin , or they were men that had come across a corpse that they buried , for It Is A Mitzvah to bury an unattended corpse and so they were not pure enough to make the Pesach Offering on that day of the 14th of Nissan , so in honour of them and their coming to ask , out of eagerness to do the Mitzvah , on their own volition , HaShem Taught us Of Pesach Sheni , where a month later on the 14th of Iyar , they were to make this offering and eat it with matzos and bitter herbs . HaShem Gave Signs To the Children of Israel , so that they would know when to journey and when to wait and encamp . When The Cloud Covered the Tent of The Tabernacle , then we would encamp and when the Cloud Lifted off of the Tent of the Tabernacle , we would journey . Sometimes , it might cover the Tent of The Tabernacle for only a day and then lift and so we would then start to journey again and sometimes it would rest on the Tent of The Tabernacle for a longer period , like for example when we were in Kadesh , it rested and so did we encamp there for 19 years . All Was Up To HaShem , For HaShem Alone Knew what was up ahead and how long we would need to wait at each station , for as we were traveling toward Canaan , so were other things going on in the area , so we relied in pure Faith In HaShem on when to go and when to wait . If only today we could have the same Faith In HaShem , Who Knows Best About our future and so , we too need to trust HaShem every step of the way And Let HaShem Guide us Toward our destination and we need to realize that should we be delayed , we need to trust In HaShem Knowing Best And Watching Over us In His Tender Loving Care , For HaShem Knows All . HaShem Instructs Moshe To make two silver trumpets which , according to different signals of tone , would tell the Children of Israel , different commands related to travelling and which Tribes were to travel and also other indications That Torah Mentions for the different sounds blown with these trumpets , like the entire assembly needing to assemble or the leaders needing to assemble , different blasts sounded for the different directions encamping to assemble and even when needing to wage war and also on Days of Gladness and Festivals and New Moons the trumpets are to be sounded over the Elevation Offerings and Feast Peace Offerings . How Beautiful And Sweet And Holy Is HaShem And HaShem's Holy Torah And HaShem's Beautiful Holy Righteous Commandments . In this Sedra , in Bamidbar 10 : 35 - 36 , are two verses that have before and after them an inverted letter Nun . The reason for this is that these two verses Of HaShem's Holy Torah are considered in deep learning , a separate Book Of The Torah , thus making in actual fact , Seven Holy Books Of The Holy Torah . Within the verses of The Torah , are breaks in the scripts and the letter Nun , being 50 in Gematriah shows that these verses are 50 sections away from the section of the Carrying of the Ohel Mo'ed , where this section actually belongs ( in Bamidbar 2:17 ) , thus showing That HaShem Delayed this section in The Torah , by 50 Parshiyos . Also , the letter Nun , being 50 , shows that we would have straight away gone over the Jordan River ( which is 50 amos wide ) into Canaan at that time had the incident of the spies which comes up soon in Torah , not have taken place , where B'nei Yisrael actually turned their backs On HaShem , shown by the inversion of the letter Nuns . ( Midrash Says - Bamidbar - Rabbi M Weissman ) . " " The people , " as The Torah refers to them , are the Eirev Rav , the Mixed Multitude , which were the ones who took to complaining about the Manna That HaShem Beautifully Gave us and the people desired Meat . They could not just shecht their own animals , for as our Rabbis tell us , at the time , meat from them could only be eaten when it became part of a Korban that permitted the eating of a portion of it , though the people desired Meat , for they were not Spiritually Holy enough to appreciate the Spiritual Holiness of the Mannah That HaShem Sweetly Provided For us On A Bed Of His Loving Dew , every day . The Mannah was so called , because when it first came down for us , This Holy Food From Heaven , that gave off no waste part when eaten but was completely absorbed in health by the body , the people at first did not know what it was and when they first saw it they said , ' Man hu , ' - ' What is this , ' for many of them were not on a Spiritual Level high enough yet to fully appreciate It and they could not understand It's Holy Depths and so , did it get called " Mannah . " It could take on the taste of any food that a person thought of while eating It and some even prepared It in different ways , showing that they did not appreciate It's full beautiful Spiritual Holy Taste on It's own . The Holier among the Children of Israel did not have to do anything to prepare It . They just ate the Mannah As It Was Given By HaShem and were able to taste Its Taste beyond the human Physical need and thus could taste It's Holy Taste , in a Spiritual Physical way . The people complained about The Mannah and so Moshe complained to HaShem why they had been put on him . HaShem Told Moshe To pick Seventy men ( like the 70 Sarim angels of the 70 nations ) and like the members of the Sanhedrin with an extra one - with another one at their head - as Moshe was at their head ( Midrash Says Bamidbar - R Weissman ) . When Moshe asked which to choose , he Was Told to take those that had taken the blows for our people in Egypt under the taskmasters when they had decided not to put us in trouble when we were asked to go and make bricks without straw and so they were rewarded now , by having some of Moshe's Spirit be put on them to help him . Yet like a candle that is not diminished by lighting other candles , so was Moshe's Spirituality not diminished by Moshe giving some of his Spirituality to them , Even Though HaShem Had Increased his spirit . HaShem Became Angry With the people and this was one of the Ten Times that we tested HaShem in the Wilderness . Out of the people that were part of the 70 , two of them Eldad and Medad were overly humble and so they remained in the camp . Because of their greater humility , HaShem Increased their prophecy beyond the other Elders and so they remained behind to prophesy in the Camp , Eldad prophesying Moshe's death and Eldad and Medad , prophesying the war that Moshe would overcome with Sichon and Og , both also foreseeing the war at the End of Days with Gog and Magog ( Midrash Says Bamidbar - R . Weissman ) . Both Eldad and Medad outlived the other Elders . Moshe's son Gershom , as the youth mentioned in The Torah , felt for his Father and came and told his Father Moshe and Yehoshuah , who was there , asked for their incarceration , thinking that they had wrongly prophesied in front of their Rebbe Moshe , something one Halachically does not do , but Moshe , in all his humility , thought humbly less of himself than others and more for his people and selflessly said , that all Israel should be prophets like this , even if prophesying Moshe's death , just as long as we all follow HaShem Wholeheartedly . What a beautiful selfless soul is beloved Moshe Rabbeinu . HaShem Brought the Slav which was the Quail and it descended on the camp and came so abundantly that the people got punished with it , till it was coming out of their teeth and once consumed , extended their stomachs , just like what happens to the unfaithful Sotah , for the people , in asking for meat and the vegetables they claimed to have gotten in Egypt , was certainly a lack of gratitude and faithfulness In HaShem . The place was called Kibrot Hattaavah - Place of the Lusters ( Rashi ) . After the 70 Elders were appointed , Miryam commented to Tzipporah , Moshe's wife , how Blessed their wives will be , but Tzipporah commented that it would be otherwise , for they would not come near their wives either , just as Moshe does not . Miryam , in the presence of Aharon and in the earshot of Moshe , commented how she and Aharon have not left their spouses , even though they too receive prophecy . Her intention was not a bad one , for she hoped to fix things for Tzipporah and she did speak in the earshot of Moshe ( Midrash Says - Bamidbar - R. Weissman ) . HaShem Summoned them , for Moshe had not responded , So HaShem Responded For him . Moshe was left in the Tent of Meeting When HaShem Spoke To Aharon And Miryam , Explaining To them , That what Moshe does re Tzipporah , is totally correct , For At Any Time , HaShem Comes And Speaks To Moshe and so Moshe must always be ready and totally pure , unlike anyone else . Both Aharon and Miryam were both stricken with Leprosy , but the Leprosy for Aharon lifted straight away , for it was Miryam who first spoke out . Aharon begged Moshe to pray for Miryam's healing . Humble Moshe Begged HaShem To Heal her . Miryam was quarantined outside the Camp for seven days and the whole of K'lal Yisrael waited for her . The waiting for Miryam by the whole nation , was a reward for Miryam , who waited and watched over Moshe for 15 minutes , when Moshe was small and put upon the Nile in a wicker basket , before Basya drew Moshe from the water . Miryam , after she was healed , so was her skin cleared as a youth , yet she was sickly for a lot of her life before due to her overworking in Egypt as one of the women who saved the Jewish babies with her Mom Yocheved as the two Jewish mid-wives Shifrah and Puah , even as Miryam was at such a young age , so had she remained unmarried for so long until Kaleiv , who was much younger than her , saw her true Spiritual Beauty and after he married her , years later , her health was restored . Out of Miryam and Kaleiv , came their grandson Betzalel , who at 13 years of age , built the Mishkan . So ends this Holy Parsha . The Path To HaShem's Light Is Through Selfless Humility And total Faith In HaShem . Every Mitzvah that we do Goes Straight Up To Shamayim Heaven . Every Action that we do is accounted . Every time that we do a Mitzvah , we light up our soul brighter than before , on it's journey , as it yearns To Join With HaShem . Every Moment That HaShem Gives us , Is An Opportunity To Lift And " Beha'aloscha " And " Kindle " The Flame Of our Life Soul Within us To Reach Closer To HaShem . If we all could do all we are supposed to do , then we would all , come together and bring Creation ( like the one hammered out piece of Gold of the Menorah ) , To The Oneness Of HaShem . The Word That HaShem Chose For " Kindling " Is " Beha'aloscha " where , in Ivrit , " Kindling " is actually ' Lehadlik . ' So Why Did HaShem Choose This Word " Beha'aloscha ? " Within This Word , is the word ' Alei ' which means ' To go up / To reach High Holy and Spiritual Heights . As The Candle always burns upwards , so should we ensure that our every action is one that faces and carries us Upward On High , that every action and Mitzvah that we do is done ' Leshem Shamayim ' - ' For The Sake Of Heaven , ' For HaShem , that every Mitzvah and action that we do carries us Up Closer Towards HaShem . The Torah Is A Light And The Pathway To HaShem , just as a Candle's light burns upwards , For With HaShem's Holy Torah , we travel Up Towards HaShem And Join With HaShem's Holy Light . The Word " Beha'aloscha , " is 527 in Gematriah and when we add 5 + 2 + 7 , we get a total of 14 ( 10 and 4 ) . The numbers 10 and 4 come to the letters Yud and Dalet which spells two words ' Yad ' and ' Dai . ' The word ' Yad ' Means ' Hand ' and represents The Hand Of HaShem . The word ' Dai ' means ' Enough ' and thus has reference to The End Of Days , when the Physical World will have reached its End , when it will have been ' Enough ' that was done , so that The End Of Days can come , When HaShem Carries us Up Toward Him With His Hand . Thus in " Beha'aloscha " - " Kindling " the Lamps , It Is The Pathway Via HaShem's Eternal Light , To Reach The End Of Days , when we can all Rest Lovingly In The Hand Of HaShem . Also , the Fifth Letter of the Hebrew Alphabet is the Letter ' Hei ' and the ' Hei ' sound when saying this letter , Is Representative Of The Breath Of HaShem , Where HaShem Breathed Life Into All Of His Creation . So the very Lighting and " Beha'aloscha " - " Kindling " of the Menorah , Is Like HaShem's Breath Of Light That Shines Out His Light Of Wisdom To Creation .
