Our Parsha this Shabbos HaChodesh is Parashas Tazria . This Shabbos is also Shabbos Rosh Chodesh Nissan , an important Rosh Chodesh , before Pesach , around the time when the Laws of Rosh Chodesh were Given By HaShem to us through Moshe and thus this Shabbos is also Parashas HaChodesh . For Parashas Tazria we read Vayikra 12 : 1 - 13 : 59 and from the Second Torah Scroll we read for Rosh Chodesh , Bamidbar 28 : 9 - 15 and from the Third Torah Scroll for Parashas HaChodesh , Shemos 12:1-20 . The Haftorah is Yechezkiel 45 : 16 - 46 : 18 and Isaiah 66 : 1 , 23 related to the relevant topic of Parashas HaChodesh and Rosh Chodesh. Parashas Tazriah starts with the Laws of Purification , on the birth of male and female children . We just discussed in the previous Sedra about the contamination of various animals and now naturally , Torah goes on to the Laws of Purification of people . But why were animals mentioned first before people ? Just as in Creation , HaShem Created the animals first and then humans , So Does HaShem Deal First With contamination of animals before humans . This is also a lesson in human humility for should man become too conceited , HaShem Reminds him that even the Gnat was Created before him . HaShem Starts With the Laws of Human Purity in this Sedra , at the beginning of a person's life , at birth . This also indicates a very important lesson . HaShem Could Easily Have Created humans perfect but instead , we are given the opportunity from the beginning to work on our own , gaining in Purity and Holiness and so , can we earn the merit of it ourselves . Thus HaShem Commands The Laws of Purity to already be in place at birth . HaShem Watches the birth of every member of Creation And Is With all His Creation , Even Before birth , Still Performing Miracles Within the womb . The very fact that an entire human being starts as it does and grows into an adult is such a Beautiful Miracle of HaShem . The Whole concept of " Tazria , " - " Giving Birth , " Is An Awesome Act Of Kindness From HaShem , Who Is A Part of Every Conception With the Parents And Shows us That right at the beginning of every life , HaShem Is There For us . The very act of Tamei Contamination at Birth , goes back to the action of Chava , at the Beginning when she disobeyed HaShem . Before her Aveirah , Birth could have been a pure and painless act . Now every birth comes with a touch of needed climb for purity . The Woman brings as a Korban , both an Elevation offering and a Sin Offering . The Sin Offering goes back as an Atonement for Chava and the Elevation Offering is like the guilt offering here , where she regrets the possibility of vowing at the time of the painful childbirth that she may have wrongly spoken out that she will never be with her husband again . The Idea also of these offerings is that we start out birth clearing ourselves of any negativities that can bring us to Sin and then we work to Elevate ourselves Higher . Parashas Tazria discusses a Woman's Conception and of the period of contamination for a male or female child after the birth . When a male gets born , he is to be circumcised on the eighth day . For a certain period , the Mother is to have a separation period of purity . Our Holy Torah Tells us that if she has a male child , that period is half the time of a female child , thus for a male child , she is contaminated for 7 days and for 33 days , she shall remain in blood of purity , not being able to touch anything holy , or enter the Sanctuary until her days of purity are completed ( thus a total of 7+33 = 40 days ) , and if she has a female child , she will be contaminated for two weeks and for 66 days , she shall remain in blood of purity ( thus a total of 14 + 66 = 80 days ) . Our Rabbis say that the time is doubled for a female child , because , it takes forty days for the life - form to develop into a male and 80 days for the life - form to develop into a female . It is so interesting that the forty days minimum , that it takes , is the same amount of time that Moshe was up each of the three times on Har Sinai and also during the Mabul , The Flood in Noach's time , it rained for 40 days and 40 nights , suggesting that this period of 40 , is a time given to make that which is within it , purified . So the life - form is within the birth sac and remains purified . When her days of purity are completed , the Mother brings as a mentioned , an Elevation Offering and a Sin Offering . The reason for the two offerings are because during her labor , she may have , due to the pain , as i mentioned , sworn an oath never to live with her husband again and also , she brings an Offering , in lieu of Chava , for whose actions , women suffer in childbirth and thus every child bearing Woman , can thus atone for Chava Eve . Also , she atones for any negative feelings she may have had against her husband and even negative feelings she may have had against HaShem , Chas Ve Shalom . This is when a Woman " Tazria , " - " Conceives . " There Are Miracles From HaShem every day , all the time , in every moment and in every instant that exists . HaShem Blesses us With Creation , A Most Amazing Miracle . We really do not realize The Wonderful Beautiful Miracle that HaShem Gives us , in childbirth . When it is time to bring the Soul to the baby to come , HaShem Calls the Malach Angel Layla to bring the soul , either out of Shamaim or Gan Eiden or from The Gaf ( a Holding Place of Souls ) , that soul that will go into that baby . Though the soul does not want to leave its Holy Place of rest , HaShem Instructs the Soul That in order to earn merit , that soul needs to come into a Physical Body and so gain merit and raise itself in Holiness , by keeping HaShem's Mitzvos . What A Beautiful Miracle . Even while it is within its Mother , HaShem Performs so many Miracles for it . The very heat within the Mother would be impossible for a human being to stand for so long , but HaShem , Who Never Leaves , Miraculously Protects it , For He Is At The Birth Of Every Life-Form In His Creation . How Beautiful A Fact . The Position in which the Life-form lies , within the Mother , Is A Miracle From HaShem , for gravity alone would make it fall out , yet HaShem Miraculously Keeps it In , Until The Time Is Ready For it To Be Born . HaShem Directs Toward it , all its necessary food and when it Is Born By HaShem's Miracle , HaShem Miraculously Gives the Mother the power to feed it milk from her very own body , the healthiest of all , for her baby . The Life-form if it would have waste products , from its nourishment within the Mother , would under other circumstances , hurt the Mother , But HaShem Miraculously Takes Care Of That . The very act of conceiving a child , from a small part from the Mother , With HaShem's Miracle and a drop from the Father , With HaShem's Miracle , for that to form a child , with all its faculties and everything it needs to grow into the adult , Is Such A Great Miracle And Act Of Love From HaShem . Oh yes , Conception Is Such A Continuing Miracle Of The Almighty , Praised And Forever Blessed Be HaShem's Beautiful And Beloved Name . From this point on in this Parsha of Tazria and into the next Parsha of Metzora , Tzaraas is discussed and all its allied impurities that can come on the skin or body part of a person is also discussed , Afflictions on Garments and if in Israel , on houses , where if it appeared on a house , if it came to having to remove stones from the house , the previous Canaanite tenants , who had hidden their precious items in the walls to hide them away from us , their hidden wares , would then be revealed . HaShem Sends Tzaraas , for 10 different kinds of Aveirahs , being :- Idolworship , Murder , Immorality , Performing a Chillul HaShem - A Desecration of HaShem's Name , Robbery , Greed and having an evil eye , Making a Vain Oath , Conceit and Arrogance , Loshon Horah - Slander ( the main reason ) and Doing something not allowed by the person who does it - like a king performing the rites of a Kohein . The main sin that Tzaraas Is Sent for , is Loshon Horah . So ends the Parshas . As I mentioned , the main sin that Tzaraas is sent for , is Loshon Horah , for basically defaming and slandering someone , or others . Tzaraas is not modern day Leprosy . Both are very different . Modern day Leprosy comes out with black swellings , whereas , Tzaraas Afflictions are impure when they are white or if they have flesh exposed within them , or if they have two white hairs in them . Tzaraas is very much A Spiritual Affliction , Sent By HaShem , To Manifest Physically, for wrongs done . In that day and time , the Sins we did Were Manifest Upon us , on our bodies , or out of mercy sometimes , first on one's garment , or on one's house only in Israel , but not in Yerushalayim . A person who may have been miserly , claiming that he had nothing to give others , but in reality he did have , may have Tzaraas Appear On his house in Israel , so that he would have to remove first all his possessions from the house before the Kohein could come and possibly declare his house Impure Tamei . The articles within the house , would have to be removed first , so that if the Kohein would come and the articles were not in the house , the articles could then be clear of being declared Tamei - Impure , something they could not be declared of , if they were not removed first from the house before the house was declared Tamei . Thus all the people would see that he was being miserly and that he had the where with all to have helped others and that he had just dishonestly made out he was unable . As I just explained , the, possessions had to be removed first , so that they would not be declared Tamei when the house is declared Tamei , for once the House is declared Tamei , then all things within it , are Tamei . Loshon Horah is a very grave sin . It hurts without warning . A person who Loshons , is an abomination to HaShem And HaShem Says That such a person cannot abide in Creation alongside HaShem , for such a person , denies The Way HaShem Creates that person and the Loshoner tries to refashion that person in his own negative image and in his own negative view . Thus the Loshoner is akin to an idol worshiper who makes himself out to be a creator , of the person loshoned , in the Loshoner's own negative view and image , Chas Ve Shalom . The very first one to do the sin of Loshon Horah , was the Nachash the Snake in Gan Eiden in the Beginning , with the Angel Samael within it . Samael blasphemed and Loshoned HaShem and so , caused Adam Ve Chava to Sin and Eat that which they were Commanded Not To eat and so was the woman punished with painful childbirth and impurity , which both Adam Ve Chava now had ( impurity ) . What was the snake's punishment ? To crawl in the very dust that was its words , for such are the words of Loshon Horah and slander , that is akin to speaking dust . The snake's tongue was also split and separated , just like Loshon Horah and Slander separates people from others who are spoken badly about . The Snake , which once stood upright and regal , was made to crawl on its belly and from it's arrogance and conceit , a trait of the one who commits Loshon Horah , it was forced to be lowered and was humbled . Loshon Horah hurts three people , the Loshoner , the Listener to the Loshon and the Victim who is the one spoken about . A story is told of a man who came before a Judge , for he had bad mouthed his neighbor and it had caused harm to his neighbor and the perpetrator was seeking and pleading with the Judge for a way to make up for it and atone . The Judge told him to take pieces of paper and to write upon them words about himself and to go out into the street and to throw them into the wind and to come back to the Judge the next day . The man did this and came back to the Judge the next day and asked the Judge if he could now be forgiven . The Judge told him , only if he can go back to where he threw the pieces and collect every single one of them . The man said that this is impossible , as by now , the wind has carried them to places he can not possible collect them back from , or know of where . The Judge responded that so is it the same with Loshon Horah and Slander , for it is impossible to retract what one has said and it is impossibly to possibly know how far , in the wind , has a person's slanderous words traveled and they can never be retrieved or retracted , for rumors carry , and even when the truth comes out , not every one will believe it . No wonder a bird is one of the offerings brought for Cleansing from Tzaraas , as birds often chirp and chatter in the open , just like Loshon Horah chatters constantly in the open - so say our Rabbonim . Even in Dovid Ha Melech's time , a man slandered Mefiboshes , son of David's beloved friend Jonathon and this ended up starting the punishment that ended in the final split of the Tribes of Israel after Shlomo's Son Rechavam separated the kingdoms . Slander splits and divides and separates people . This is the exact opposite of what HaShem Wants . HaShem Wants togetherness and unity , in following HaShem Only . The Very Peace of Unity holds HaShem's Beautiful Gift To us Of Creation , on the Right Path towards HaShem . Slander is a very grave sin . Even Shlomo Hamelech said in Mishlei that " Death and Life are in the hands of the Tongue . " It is no wonder that the Punishment for Loshon Horah , is impurity and forced distance from other people and obvious signs of impurity , for that is exactly what the Loshoner did to others , by making them look impure and wrong to others and by their evil talk and tongue , caused distance between others , so now the one afflicted by Tzaraas for Loshon Horah must be alone and isolated and call out Tamei Tamei Impure Impure . We lost our Holy Temples because of Loshon Horah and Groundless Hatred among our brethren . " A Sword can kill one , but a word can kill many . " Loshon Horah " - " Evil Tongue Speech , " is Murder to the one spoken about . In fact Loshon Horah has within it the breaking of every one of the Ten Commandments . It blasphemes HaShem's Name , for it attacks HaShem's Creation , Chas Ve Shalom , The Way HaShem Made a person . It is like Idol worship , for it puts the Loshoner in the place of one who wants to recreate another person , in a way HaShem Did Not , For HaShem Is The Only Creator . To Loshon is to doubt HaShem and His Creation as Creator . To Loshon is to take HaShem's Name in Vain , showing no respect For What And How HaShem Created things . To Loshon is to show HaShem that the Loshoner is arrogantly trying to make his own false creation , thus denying HaShem As Creator , Chas Ve Shalom , which is exactly the opposite of what Shabbos Testifies , that we keep Shabbos , which also acknowledges That HaShem Created the other six days . If one can Loshon others , then one can be brought to the stage of Loshoning one's own Parents , thus dishonoring them , Chas Ve Shalom . Loshoning can kill a person's character and other's opinions of the one Loshoned and also embarrasses them , causing blood to drain from their face , which Halachically is akin to murder . Loshon Horah brings about unfaithfulness by others to the one Loshoned , which is akin to adultery . Loshon Horah causes theft of a person's real character akin to kidnapping their real character . Certainly , Loshon Horah causes the bearing of False Witness against the one Loshoned , putting them wrongly in a way that they are not . Loshon Horah causes hatred of the one Loshoned by those who listen to it and the listeners can thus be caused to covet the one Loshoned . Thus Loshon Horah Evil Tongue , breaks all the Ten Commandments and thus every Law of HaShem Given on Har Sinai . Also , Seeing As HaShem Created the World with Ten Pronouncements , Loshon Horah Directly Attacks HaShem's Creation And Also The Fact That HaShem Created the World With Ten Pronouncements , for as I mentioned , it breaks every one of the Ten Commandments . So is the Punishment for Tzaraas , for ten types of Aveirah . HaShem Put the tongue behind the barriers of the teeth and gums in the mouth so as to keep it in check , as a barrier against a loose tongue of slander Loshon Horah . The tongue is the only muscle in the body that has horizontal freedom . HaShem Thus Gave us Barriers to the tongue , the Teeth and Gums of the Mouth , to help us keep it in check . Yet HaShem Allowed us the easiest ability to earn Mitzvos with our Speech in Holy Talk , By Allowing the tongue muscle , the freedom to speak . So HaShem Wants us to Guard our Tongue , But Still Mercifully Gives us a way to easily earn many Mitzvos , by using the easy moving tongue , made in a resting horizontal position , to be easily able to speak Words Of Holiness Of Torah . We must thus not change it around , but must ensure that we take HaShem's Safeguards and Guard our Tongue from Loshon Horah and easily speak Holy Words , by learning much Torah and so , make this World , a World of Torah Love and Harmony , Where HaShem Can Be Made Welcome with love always . So if we stop Committing Loshon Horah and if we all start keeping HaShem's Commandments , we will stop being afflicted with Tzaraas and we can go back to the Beginning , where child birth was painless and there was no impurity . It is within our reach . All we have to do , is What HaShem Wants us to do . All we Have to do is follow HaShem , in our total love and obedience . Gan Eiden and Shamaim are so reachable . If only we would just reach up to HaShem , and all of us Obey Him . HaShem Made us In Total Love . HaShem Then Discusses a most important set of Laws with respect to Tzaraas and human contamination , should a person Sin , Chas Ve Shalom . Different kinds of Tzaraas are discussed , from Tzaraas on the skin , to the head , to a garment , to a house , and how the Kohein is to judge if it is Tzaraas and what to do with it . So ends our Sedra . The Midrash as I mentioned , talks of 10 sins for Tzaraas that can cause it to come upon a person . These ten are Loshon Horah , Murder, Theft , Arrogance , Idol Worship , Chilul HaShem , Immorality , Blaspheming HaShem , Doing things not permitted ( like doing the work of a Kohein when one is a non-Kohein ) and the Evil Eye Miserliness. The Gemorah in Erchin 15 , lists an eleventh one , which is making a vain oath ( Midrash Says Vayikra - R Weissman ) . The whole idea of Tzaraas , as I mentioned , is so far removed from what we know today as Leprosy . Today's leprosy is a physical ailment , whereas Tzaraas , is a spiritual affliction that comes out physically . The Kohanim had to know all the different Laws regarding Tzaraas and how to differentiate between over 300 different types of Tum'a Tzaraas . It shows us that how we behave and what we do religiously , or in this case , also not do what we should do , can have a very physical manifestation . HaShem Furnishes the afflicted with a suitable punishment , for just as the one afflicted may have Loshoned and thus isolated others , so was the afflicted , forced to leave the Clouds of Glory and isolate themselves from others , putting on sackcloth and calling out ' Tamei Tamei , ' should anyone come near them . We need to take this into account , for the way we act , shows on our very Physicality and our negative emotions does reflect Spiritually on the outside . Usually the regular Haftorah Portion for this Parsha is the story of Naaman , general from Aram , who was leprous . There was a young Jewish girl taken into Aram's territory who spoke out and advised that he should go to Elisha , the Jewish prophet to help. So the king of Aram sent a letter to the king of Israel Yehoram to assist . The King of Israel thought it was a trap pretext to attack and so , tore up the letter . Elisha was angry at the king's reaction and said , " Let Naaman come . " Naaman came to his house , with wealth and Elisha never came out , but told him to go bathe seven times in the Jordan river , but Naaman thought he knew better , saying that his own rivers were just as good . Naaman's sons persuaded their father to listen and Naaman went and bathed seven times in the Jordan and his Leprosy was healed . Elisha told his servant Geichazi not to accept any gifts , for Elisha wanted it made clear that it was HaShem Who Had Saved Naaman and not Elisha himself . This story continued , that Geichazi and his sons with him , deceitfully ran after Naaman , to try and get the valuables under false pretenses . When Elisha prophetically saw what he did , Elisha cursed his deceitful servant Geichazi and his sons with Leprosy and they were stricken . They ended up to be the Lepers who stood outside the city gate subsequently and who were hungry and they made their way to the enemy camp and found the enemy had run due to a conflagration Which HaShem Had Sent and so , they returned to report this to Israel . Geichazi had previously mocked Elisha and Elisha's staff , when Elisha on another occasion had sent Geichazi with Elisha's staff to try heal the sin of the Shunamite woman's son and on the way , Geichazi loshoned his master and mocked him . So Loshon Horah is a big reason for Tzaraas to appear . HaShem Put Into our hands our own destinies . What we choose to do , is where we lead ourselves to . HaShem Wants us to be a partner in His Work , by bringing ourselves to completion . This starts at birth and never stops our whole lives . There is not a single moment in this World where we can't grow. Every moment we are given has within it many opportunities for Spiritual Growth . We just have to look out for them and bring each moment into Heaven . Every moment for us all can either be a step up or a step down . Which one it is , is purely our choice . To waste a single moment on trivial physicalities is a waste Of The Sweet Beautiful And Kind Reason That HaShem Gives us To grow . Our prophets of old knew deep Spiritual things . Like Elisha who knew that Naaman's solution was hidden in the Torah , for Naaman's name started and ended with a Nun , as did a few other verses , like the verse that speaks of the subject of Tzaraas Laws starts and ends with a Nun and also with respect to this very subject where another verse in Torah that refers to the Jordan river , also starts with and ends with a Nun , as does another verse in Torah that refers to seven times immersing , also start with and end with a Nun ( Midrash Says - Vayikra - R . Weissman ) , so all things are in Torah And HaShem Saw To all things . All we need to do is to Follow HaShem's Ways . HaShem Is In the most minute action and even when trials come or punishments happen , HaShem Is There To Improve us . No one is immune from learning a lesson . Even a King , like King David , who after the incident with Bas-Sheva , was stricken with Tzaraas for six months and isolated , until he had worked through the Aveirah he had done . All of us are here to learn and grow and work through our weaknesses so we can become better beings that Bless HaShem instead of just Blaspheming HaShem ( Chas Ve Shalom ) , as Golias ( Goliath ) did every day he came out to mock HaShem and the Jewish people from the Pelishtim , when David called on HaShem To Strike him with Tzaraas , before David killed him with a slingshot with HaShem's Help, for David could not abide any mockery of HaShem . It is interesting to note that as David was descended from Ruth in Moav , so was Golias descended from Orpah ( her sister - in - law ) in Moav , both these women being daughter's in law of Naomi , where Ruth chose to go with Naomi home , unlike Orpah who chose to stay in Moav with its Avodah Zorah . Thus David and Golias had to meet . Our Parsha Tazria, teaches , that working toward purity starts at birth and continues on . We dare not waste a single moment for each moment is very precious And Is A Gift from HaShem . So let us appreciate every moment we are Given By HaShem , For HaShem Gives us Life To Truly Spiritually Live . May we all open our eyes to HaShem and take HaShem's Gift Of Life And True Living and Start to Truly Live HaShem's Way , For Only That Is True Living . May we all keep pure and holy and live every moment for HaShem That we Are Given By HaShem . Let us make our entire lives for HaShem , Who Gives us life . Let us all be for HaShem . I wish HaShem With Purest And Deepest Forever And Eternal Love , A Very Sweet And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh And Chodesh Tov Nissan with Total Love , and to all of my fellow Jews and to all of HaShem's Beautiful Creation , a very sweet and beautiful Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov Nissan with love .

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Shemini and this Shabbos is also Shabbos Parashas Parah , so we read Parashas Shemini from the first Torah scroll and then Parashas Parah from the second Torah Scroll of Numbers 19 : 1 - 22 and the Haftorah for Parashas Parah , which makes reference to purity from sins as does the Parah Adumah purify those its ashes are sprinkled upon , is in Ezekiel 36 : 16 -36 . Parashas Parah deals with the Parah Adumah and issues of Ritual Purity which we read as we approach Pesach , to remind us to be ritually pure at this time as Pesach approaches . Parshas Shemini starts out on the Eighth day after the Seven days of the Inauguration period , for the Mishkan , and it was on this day , the First of Nissan that Aharon would now take over permanently as Kohein Gadol after Moshe officiated the past seven days . Aharon was reluctant to take up the position of Kohein Gadol as he still felt unworthy , not just because of his humility , but he also felt very bad about the whole incident of the golden calf , but Moshe assured him that this Is What HaShem Wants , for him to be Kohein Gadol . Aharon's position of Kohein Gadol was Chosen By HaShem long before when HaShem Was Speaking To Moshe At The Burning Bush and Moshe kept humbly refusing and so it was then That HaShem Chose To make Aharon the Kohein Gadol . Aharon also felt uncomfortable because as he approached the Mizbayach - The Altar , he saw a vision of a calf , thus reminding him of the Chait Ha Eigel . Some of our Sages teach us that this vision , though having another positive reason , could actually have been perceived by Aharon negatively because of a negative force that was trying to keep him from serving HaShem , while other Sages feel that it was a vision of what Korban would be needed to be brought to start his service . No doubt , he was to bring a young bull for a Chatas - Sin Offering and a ram for an Elevation Offering unblemished , so he was thus to atone first for his part in the Chait Ha Eigel . A man who is to bring Korbanos - Offerings ( where the word ' Karov ' - Closeness ' is within the word " Korbanos " ) and help atone for others , must first cleanse himself . A man who is set to bring Closeness between HaShem and the People , must first take that step of rectifying to bring his own closeness to HaShem , himself . Also on that first day for the Children of Israel , was to be brought a he-goat for a Chatas Sin Offering and a calf and sheep for a Peace Offering , so that Atonement could be brought for what the brothers did to Yosef long ago when they dipped his tunic into goat's blood . The Temple Altar was to bring closeness between HaShem and the Children of Israel and so that begins with peace among our people and thus the sin of what was done between brothers , in our people , had to be atoned for , so Peace could be between HaShem and us . This Sedra continues with the Offerings and after all had been done for this Inauguration , Moshe and Aharon still waited For HaShem's Fire To Descend , but it did not . Aharon Blessed the people . Aharon humbly felt that it was because of him That HaShem's Fire Did Not Yet Descend and Aharon asked Moshe why he was put in the position of Kohein Gadol if he and his work was not accepted . Moshe and Aharon both fell on their faces to HaShem . Only when both brothers Moshe and Aharon entreated HaShem , Did HaShem's Fire Descend From Before HaShem And Consume the Elevation Offerings and the fats on the Mizbayach Altar . Thus showing us that we are to work equally with our fellow Jews in Serving HaShem Within Creation . The people had much rejoicing , feeling that now HaShem Had Forgiven them for the Chait Ha Eigel - the golden calf And That Now HaShem Would Again Be In our midst . On this day of such great joy , tragedy occurred . The Parsha starts out with the words " Vayehi Bayom , " which our Rabbonim teach us , often in Torah starts out a sad happening . We see this in Bereishis 14 : 1 , where Avraham is about to go to war against the kings . We see these words also at the beginning of the Book of Ruth , just before the famine . We see these words also in the Book of Esther when introducing Achashveiros and we see it here in this Parsha , which describes the tragic event of the death of Aharon's two sons Nadav and Avihu . Aharon's two sons were very holy , as were all of Aharon's sons very holy . Nadav and Avihu were of great stature seen even within their names for within Nadav's name is the word ' Nedivus ' - which refers to his honorable rank and within Avihu's name is the name ' Av ' like a father of his people . The only thing these two sons of Aharon lacked a bit was the necessary humility . They both boldly decided on their own at the same time , each on their own thoughts , to take their fire-pans , without an order from HaShem , or checking with their Rebbe Moshe or their Father Aharon first and they put their own fire in them , thus discounting HaShem's Fire on the Mizbayach and they placed Ketores Incense upon them and thus brought an alien fire , discounting HaShem's Fire , on the Mizbayach . They also never wore the Me'il , which had bells at the bottom , put there for when entering the Holy Place , so the Angels within , would know to leave and thus not affect the one entering by their spiritual holiness , thus they entered unprotected , into a Place Frequented by holy beings . A Fire Came Forth From HaShem and Consumed them and they died before HaShem . Thus it wasn't as though HaShem Killed them as such , but rather that by their own choice they entered The Holy Place and did not announce their entering with the bells on the Me'il before the holy Malachim within , could leave and so by their own action of doing that which was not their place to do , they caused their own demise . Only the one that HaShem Allows into this Holy Place is permitted within . I already mentioned a few of the wrongs that Nadav and Avihu did , but these were not the only wrongs that they did . At an earlier time at Har Sinai when the Elders stood up higher on the Mountain , When HaShem Came Down , both Nadav and Avihu , yearning for closeness with HaShem , stood higher too on the Mountain and did not display the necessary humility . HaShem Already then , Had Set them to die , but held out as at that time , it was not the time to bring tragedy to such a joyous and holy event as HaShem Meeting His people . So their punishment was held out till now , at the time that started the Temple service , the time where Atoning would take place . So it also shows How Merciful HaShem Is , For Waiting Till now , till they again displayed a lack of humility . Also , at the time of the Chait Ha Eigel , HaShem Was Angry with Aharon , even though he did not fashion the calf with his own hands and even though he said to the people , " A festival for HaShem Tomorrow , " thus faithfully believing in HaShem and that Moshe would return , HaShem Still Felt Upset With Aharon And Told Moshe that He Would remove all his sons , Sending Out Destructive Angels to do this . Moshe Pleaded for his brother and his brother's sons And So HaShem Relented And Agreed To Keep two of Aharon's sons alive . Moshe continued to pray and hoped HaShem Might Relent . But when Nadav and Avihu again did not display the needed and correct humility and brought their own fire , even though HaShem's fire was already a fact on the Mizbayach , HaShem Punished them By Fire Consuming them . Aharon was silent . Our Sages debated how this was so , that Aharon could remain silent at such a sad event , at the death of two of his sons . Aharon being the Kohein Gadol and his two remaining sons Elazar and Ithamar , had to live by certain Laws even though they were in mourning . But within , Aharon felt the turmoil and self - blame for he blamed himself and his actions at the Chait Ha Eigel , for his two sons having to die . Even Though HaShem Had Not Said it was for that reason , Aharon himself felt guilty and blamed himself . Aharon within , questioned the reason for this happening and HaShem Answered Him In Love And HaShem Compassionately Let Aharon Know , that Nadav and Avihu were now in a position that they so desired to be , close to HaShem , for Torah States , " I Will Be Sanctified Through those who are nearest Me . " Thus Aharon was silent , seeing From HaShem that his beloved sons Nadav and Avihu were very holy and were now ' near HaShem . " Moshe , summoned Aharon's cousins Mishael and Elzaphan and had them remove the bodies of Nadav and Avihu with metal rods , for they could not enter The Place of Holiness . Because Aharon kept silent and accepted HaShem's Judgement , HaShem Rewarded Aharon And Spoke to Aharon Directly that no intoxicating wine was to be drunk when he or his sons come into the Ohel Mo'ed - The Tent of Meeting , lest they die , for Nadav and Avihu , had drunk more than the permitted Revi'is of Wine , before they had entered , another Aveirah that they had done . We read the portion in Acharei Mos , on Yom Kippur , which refers to the death of Aharon's two sons , for the death of the Righteous in that generation , can atone for the People , in that generation . The Torah Continues with instructions of more Offerings . A dispute occurred between Moshe and Aharon , where Moshe questioned why his sons had totally burnt the Rosh Chodesh Offering instead of partaking of part of it , for Moshe assumed that they did not partake of the offering , because they were onnanim - mourners . Aharon told Moshe that seeing as this was an Inauguration day , it was to be totally burnt and Moshe , showing his humility , agreed with him . The Parsha then focuses on one of our Holy Laws , That Of Kashrus . Kashrus keeps us separate from others and also guards us from intermixing and marrying out of our Jewish Faith and thus losing our Jewishness , Chas Ve Shalom . HaShem Commands that only animals that have a totally split hoof right through and that chew the cud , are Kosher . We note that domestic animals and not wild animals are Kosher , For HaShem Wants To Instill In us , a quietude and not a wildness , within our characters . HaShem Mentions that there are only four animals that either display one or the other trait and these four animals are the camel , the hyrax , the hare and the pig ( the pig being like Amalek Edom , that holds up its outer show , its feet - hands to show it might look Kosher , but inside , not chewing the cud , it is totally un Kosher - totally Treifah ) . Scientists once did a check World-wide to try and find if there were any other animals besides these , that displayed one or the other trait and came to the conclusion that in the whole World , only these four had one or the other trait . Only HaShem Who Knows What the trait of any animal is , Could Have Known such a fact , To Only Write these four animals and no other . HaShem's Torah Is Straight From HaShem Only . HaShem Then Tells us which Fish are Kosher . Those that have Fins and Scales in the water , in the seas and in the streams . HaShem Then Instructs on which Birds are Kosher and Gives us a list of the wild birds that kill and so , such traits are not Kosher . Torah Mentions the wild birds that are not Kosher , for the list that are Kosher , would be more . HaShem Then Instructs On the Insects that are and are not And Continues To Teach About other creatures too and contamination , on things touching their carcasses . For we are to be a holy people unto The L-RD our G-D , Sanctifying ourselves and becoming holy , For HaShem Is Holy . For It Is HaShem Who Elevates us from the land of Egypt , That HaShem Is G-D Unto us And As HaShem Says , " you shall be holy , For I Am Holy . " So ends the Parsha . This Parsha is called " Shemini , " which means " Eighth . " This was the final Eighth day after the preparations of setting up and dismantling the Mishkan every day for the seven preparation days before-hand when on the Eighth day , on the First of Nissan , the Mishkan was finally set up to and for Aharon the Kohein Gadol to do his Avodas HaShem . The Number Eight in Judaism has always referred to Holiness . We are , right now , at this time of the Jewish Calendar and Year , coming up to Pesach and between Pesach and Shavuos , every evening we count the Omer . We count 49 days , which is Seven weeks and then the day after , is that Fiftieth day ( like the Seven years of Shemittah Sabbatical Years and Seven of them counted , makes the next year , that Fiftieth Year , a Yovel Jubilee Year ) like that supposed - Eighth Day ( that day or year after the Sevens ) , is Shavuot , which was The Holy Day On Which HaShem Came Down On Har Sinai And Gave us His Beautiful Torah , thus it was and so is , the number Eight , a day of Revelation . Between Pesach , after we left Mitzrayim Egypt , a place lowest in Spiritual Purity , a place highest in Spiritual degradation , we needed these Seven Weeks and 49 days ( like the 49 Levels or Gates of Holiness that exist that Moshe climbed ) , to spiritually better ourselves and purify ourselves , as we headed toward the Holy Day of Shavuos , on which we would receive HaShem's Revelation , on that Fiftieth day ( the day after the sevens - which is , the Eighth Day ) and so , we would have , by then , purified ourselves and climbed Spiritually , to meet HaShem . It is also on the Eighth day , that a Jewish boy is to be given a Bris - Circumcision , to come into the Covenant Of HaShem . This is such a Holy Mitzvah , that it is even done on Shabbos , if that turns out to be the Eighth day . Adam Ha Rishon ( as was Moshe ) , Was Created circumcised , As HaShem Wants it and thus this Eighth Day is a Sweet Continuation of how it was to be at the beginning of Creation , for had Adam Ve Chava not sinned , then after that first Shabbos , life and all things would have been Eternal and Close to and In the Arms Of HaShem . That day after the Shabbos Day , would have been the Eighth Day from Creation's Beginning . The Eternal Shabbos . Moshiach , as I have mentioned many times in other writings , has a Gematriah of Seven and is to come , if we haven't become worthy yet , at the end of the 6000 years ( 6093 to be exact ) , which matches being at the ' Day in Creation ' of that ' Sixth Day of Creation , ' where each Day Of HaShem's Beginning Creation is as a thousand years in human period And after that , like in the period after ' 6 ' , which is ' 7 , ' Mashiach is to come . Thus the period of Moshiach , is as the period of Sevens . The Spiritual Time that will come after that , is as the Spiritual Time , of the " Eights . " Thus the Spiritual Time of this ' Eight - Period , ' is to be A Time Of Revelation Of HaShem , That Is To Come After the coming of Mashiach . The Day of the Final Inauguration , at the End of Days , Which HaShem Longs For , To Be Close To us His Creation , is thus related to this Inauguration in our Parsha , which also took place on the " Shemini " - " Eighth " Day . The Day of HaShem's Revelation . Within the word " Shemini , " are the words ' Shemi Ni , ' which , In Reference To HaShem , would mean ' My Name ( HaShem ) Is My Thanks . ' Thus within this Final Eighth Day , will be HaShem's Revelation and our true and proper Appreciation and Thanks For What HaShem Did , Does And Has Always Done And Continues To Do Which , at the End of Days , we will truly understand . We will really see in all HaShem's Beauty , all That HaShem Has Done And Why He Did The Things He Did and We will then truly appreciate All That HaShem Did , for then we will understand the meaning of what had to be . It will be then , that we will truly appreciate HaShem And His Total Goodness and realize how appreciative and thankful , we should have always been . We cannot now fully understand existence . But at the End of Days , we will understand better and realize how much we should have been thankful to HaShem . It is so important to thank and bless HaShem . We do not realize how important it is . If we would all Acknowledge and Thank HaShem Only , that action alone , of our appreciation , could bring on the End of Days . It is so important to say our Brochas and Thanks to HaShem every day , every moment and all the time . That ' Thanking - ' Todah , ' of HaShem , ' is within that number " Shemini " - " Eighth , " and the Bringing On Of The End Of Days , where the Hebrew Word ' Todah , ' is 400 + 6 + 4 + 5 = 415 and 4 + 1 + 5 = 10 and 1+0 = 1 , The Oneness Of HaShem and also the number of completion where we join HaShem's Oneness and bring Creation , Which Was Created With HaShem's Ten Pronouncements , to It's Final End , at the End Of Days and so , is Appreciation , a pathway to bring HaShem's Revelation . We must always Thank and Bless HaShem . We must always Appreciate HaShem . We must always Follow HaShem Only . That Will Bring in that Final Eighth Day - that Final " Shemini , " that Final Calling of Moshiach , to usher in the End Of Days And The Sweet Closeness Of HaShem's Revelation , to Finally live within HaShem's Closest Love and Care . Thank You HaShem For All That You Have Done , For All That You Do And For All That You Will Do . Thank You HaShem For You . This Shabbos is Parashas Tzav and the Haftorah , which also refers to the Offerings , is in Yirmeyahu Jeremiah 7 : 21 - 8 : 3 , 9 : 22 - 23 . The explanations of the Korbanos continue in this Sedra , with more direct Commandments in this Parsha to and for the Kohein Gadol and the other Kohanim , Teaching of the Three Altar Fires , the Mincha - Meal Offering and more explanations on the Chatas - Sin Offering is given as well as the Asham - Guilt Offering and the Zevach HaShlamim - The Feast Peace - Offering . In the second verse of our Parsha , the word " Mokdah " - " Flame " is written with a small Hebrew Letter ' Mem . ' HaShem Has His Own Special Reasons For Doing What He Does and all Secrets , Are With Him . But if we look at the word " Mokdah " that has been Given a small Hebrew Letter ' Mem ' as if it is silent , then it leaves the word ' Okdah ' and putting this together with the word before it " Al , " we get two words ' Alu Kadah ' which means to' Rise ' by ' Bowing . ' Taking this in context with the " Flame " being referred to , it can be saying that the " Flame " ' Rises ' to Holiness by it ' Bowing ' To HaShem . So if even a Flame that is connected with the " Olah " - " Elevation Offering " ' Rises ' Toward HaShem by ' Bowing ' to HaShem , and thus ' Rising ' to HaShem by acknowledging HaShem , how much more so do we and all of Creation need to ' Bow ' Only to HaShem . The word " Mokeid " does not only mean " Flame , " but it also means ' Focus ' and so must we ' Focus ' totally on HaShem in every Mitzvah we do and when we Daven - Pray and not on anyone or anything else , for HaShem Is One and in keeping HaShem's " Tzav " - " Command , " in love for HaShem , That HaShem Commands Of us In His Holy Torah , we will ' Rise ' to HaShem if we ' Focus ' on and ' Bow ' Only to HaShem and if we do All That HaShem Commands of us To Do . HaShem Then Commands in the Parsha that we not eat any fat of that which can be brought as a Fire Offering to HaShem , nor the fat of an animal that died , or one torn to death , for anyone who eats the fat of an animal species from that which one may bring as a fire offering to HaShem , that soul will be cut off from its people . The same goes for any person who consumes any blood , that soul will be cut off from its people . HaShem Tells Moshe to take Aharon and his sons and the Garments and the Oil of Anointment and the Offerings and the Basket of Matzos and gather the entire Assembly to the entrance of The Tent of Meeting and immerse Aharon and his sons in water , dress them in the Priestly Garments and Anoint the Tabernacle and everything in it and Anoint them and then have them do the necessary Offerings and do the Sprinklings and Inaugurate Aharon and his sons into the Priesthood and from then on , Aharon would officiate as Kohein Gadol and his sons as Kohanim and when all was done As HaShem Commanded , HaShem's Shechinah Rested On The Aron and this day was Rosh Chodesh Nissan ( the start of the Holy Month of Nissan , the month , in which Passover comes ) . Aharon and his sons did All That HaShem Had Commanded , Through Moshe . This is where this Holy Parasha ends . We are in a very Holy time right now . We have just celebrated Purim , where HaShem Saved us after we returned to our Holy Torah . So let us all at this time of our Jewish Calendar take stock of ourselves and retutn to HaShem , doing aand obeying HaShem's Holy Mitzvos and Commandments and let us return to being Holy Torah Jews and usher in The Third Holy Temple and Olam Habah , for returning to HaShem in love , as we did at the time of Purim When HaShem Fought amalek for us , can bring on the End of Days With Closeness to HaShem HaKadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . This Parsha is called Parashas " Tzav " - " Command . " Our Midrash tells us How HaShem Was Still A Little Upset With Aharon for the incident of the Chait Ha Eigel - the golden calf and Moshe spoke up for his brother that what his brother had done was only to delay the people till Moshe would return and that Aharon had thrown the gold into the furnace and the calf emerged on its own , via the negative powers of Tum'a . HaShem Had Created these powers of negativity So As To Test us Through Time , To Test if we would still follow HaShem and not go after such negative things ,but rather that we should stand fast , by HaShem And His Commandments Only and not delve into , or be tempted by these negative forces of Tum'a . HaShem Knew that Aharon still felt very bad about the incident and his part in it , even if he did not actually make the Eigel himself , for Aharon too was a very humble man , who was actually heading the Jews in Egypt after Amram , his Father had passed and so was it put in Torah that Aharon , as their Leader in Egypt , had been responsible for the Chait Ha Eigel , bringing a grievous sin upon them , even though he did not actually physically build the calf ( Shemos Exodus 32 : 24 ) , for a Leader holds the responsibility of the people he leads and what they do . So Aharon had led the people till Moshe , his younger brother by three years became Leader , and so HaShem Knew That Aharon would not want to accept this Kavod , this Honour of Kohein Gadol , feeling completely unworthy of such a high position , So HaShem Therefore Said To Moshe That he must thus " Tzav " - " Command " Aharon to take up the position . HaShem Knew Aharon's deep feelings And HaShem Knew That Aharon had not lost faith in HaShem And HaShem Knew That Aharon's intentions were meant well ( to destroy the gold rings in the furnace so that the people would not use them for idol worship , yet Aharon did not contemplate the evil Micha and Bilaam's sons Yanus and Yambrus , using the powers of Tum'a to make it into a golden calf . And so , HaShem " Tzav " - " Commanded " Aharon through Moshe , to take up his responsibility , as HaShem Commands , as Kohein Gadol . So Aharon did so , and so did his sons also become Kohanim . The First Temple Service of the day was the Terumas Ha Deshen , the Separating of the Ash , including removing the Ash from the day before , which deeply shows us that each day That HaShem Gives us is a beautiful opportunity to better ourselves every day from the day before and grow on from there and correct our past , every day That HaShem Gives us Life , Just As Every Day That HaShem In His Everlasting Holy Mercy , Creates Creation Anew , With New Opportunities For us , to change for the Good . Each day is connected to the day before , and we can , every day we Are Given By HaShem , make up for the day or days before , by improving every day and correcting ourselves every day , to make ourselves every day , more Holy and Mitzvah Following . HaShem , In This Commandment Here With The Task Of The Ashes , Is Teaching That no task performed for HaShem , is menial . Every Task that we perform for HaShem , no matter how simple or small it may be , has value , deep value . Everything we do for HaShem , HaShem Appreciates , no matter how big or small . Every sacrifice we make in our lives for HaShem , HaShem Appreciates . Every little act of kindness we perform , no matter how big or small it is , even to just warm another person's heart with a simple smile , HaShem Appreciates , for even a little smile can and does give a person a will to live . The results of our small actions , we don't see . Only HaShem Does And Knows the need for them in the Scheme of Things . How Beautiful Is our Beloved HaShem G-D The One And Only . The fire on the Altar was to be kept burning and was not to be extinguished . This too is a lesson to us that we must keep within us at all times , the fire in our Soul burning forever to HaShem , teaching to our children and children's children to keep the Fire Burning , Of HaShem's Holy Torah , Within us Always , From Generation To Generation always burning and elevating ourselves toward HaShem , to be always aflame within us , keeping our Holy Mitzvos and Jewish Traditions Forever Everlasting and Aflame Within us , always climbing up to HaShem , just as the flame on a candle burns upwards . A Mitzvah must never just be an obligation . Every Miztvah we do , must be lit with the flame within us of yearning to do HaShem's Will . We must not just do HaShem's Laws out of ' having to , " with no feeling , Chas Ve Shalom . Sure , we have to do them and must do them , even when one doesn't always feel as one should . But when we do the Mitzvah - the " Tzav " - " Command " with fire from within us , from our Heart and Soul being in our action , then that Mitzvah can " Elevate Itself " and carry itself up to Shamaim . A person once came and asked a Rabbi saying , " Rabbi , which is the most important Mitzvah to do ? " The Rabbi asked him which he thought was the most important one and the person gave different responses and then asked the Rabbi if the Rabbi felt he was right . The Rabbi said , " Yes , all the Mitzvahs that you mentioned are all very important , but you asked me which is the most important Mitzvah didn't you , so nu , tell me what you think it is . " The man said he did not know and then asked the Rabbi to tell him which is the most important Mitzvah . The Rabbi responded and said , " The most important Mitzvah , is the Mitzvah you need to do at that very moment you need to do that Mitzvah and that is the most important Mitzvah , for they are all important in that very moment that you come across the time that that particular Mitzvah becomes needed to be done . " This is so true . All Mitzvahs From HaShem , Are So Important and each One , Each Mitzvah that we need to do , has its place in Creation , for each One , Each Mitzvah For us , is a part of the building up of Creation and thus each Mitzvah that we do has its own time to need to be done in Creation and thus each Mitzvah is important at the time that we need to do that Mitzvah when that Mitzvah's time to be done , comes along and must be fulfilled and so each Mitzvah is important and makes up the total fabric of Creation , for each Mitzvah that we each and all need to do , is there to build and take Creation to it's destination of The End of Days . Each Mitzvah has its special value just as each task that was to be done in The Tabernacle in The Wilderness , had its needed value , like the " Clearing of the Ashes , " just like each one of us in Creation has our value and needs to fulfill our Holy Role for HaShem's Creation . We are all so important and must work together in doing the " Tzav " - " Command " of HaShem . When HaShem " Tzav " - " Commands , " In What Ever HaShem Commands us , At That Moment To Do , we must fulfill It Always , As HaShem Knows All That Creation Needs , To Be Complete . Each " Tzav " - " Command " Has Its Value Beyond what we can imagine for we really do not see The Full Picture . HaShem Does See The Full Picture And What HaShem Commands us To Do , we must do ( and for our own sake and for the sake of Creation , we need to do ) . Our own wishes see so little . HaShem's Wishes See Everything . So Whatever HaShem " Tzav " - " Commands " each and every day to us , we must do . And we must do It with a Flame Everlasting , Forever Burning , with our love for HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . The true worthy reward for each Mitzvah is so far beyond what we can physically imagine , for this physical World is not equipped to properly reward us for what each Holy Mitzvah deserves . Only in Shamaim , is the reward worthy of each Mitzvah , so this is why we wait for the true value reward for our Mitzvahs that we do . We may wonder why those who do Mitzvahs are not rewarded straight away . The one reason for this is that the reward for a Mitzvah cannot properly get its just deserve in the physicality of this World . For a Mitzvah touches Heaven and this physical World has not got enough level to properly justly reward for each Mitzvah that we do . No wonder Pirkei Avos mentions that the reward for the Righteous is in The World To Come , for that World is much higher than this World and can more properly reward a person for the Mitzvah they did down here and so this World , as Pirkei Avos teaches us , is for us to prepare our selves here in the lobby ( Olam HaZeh This World ) before we enter the banquet hall ( Olam HaBah The World To Come ) . So let every action we do , be for HaShem and let every Mitzvah we obey prepare us all to enter the Banquet Hall of Olam HaBah , In Closeness with HaShem HaKadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish HaShem With So Very Much Forever And Deepest Love , A Most Special And Beautiful And Sweet Shabbos Kodesh and With Everlasting And Deepest Forever Love and to all my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a Most Beautiful and Sweet and Healing Shabbos Kodesh with love . Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Vayikra , which is also the name of the Third Book of the Torah teaching about the task of the Levite Kohanim and so is also known as the Book of Leviticus . Seeing as this is the Shabbos before Purim , It Is Also Parashas Zachor where we remember Amalek and what they did to us as we were leaving Mitzrayim , where all the other nations feared HaShem and Respected HaShem And His Miracles at the time , but Amalek belittled HaShem and had no respect for HaShem's Almightiness , and attacked us from the rear , where our weakest were . Purim , is again , an attempted attack on us from Amalek , by their descendant haman , from agag . Thus on this Shabbos , the second special Shabbos before Pesach , we remember Amalek And How HaShem , On Purim , Turned Amalek's evil back on them And How HaShem Saved our Jewish people . Thank You HaShem For Always Watching Out For us . On this Shabbos Zachor , for the Maftir we read the portion for Parashas Zachor in Devarim Deuteronomy 25 : 17 - 19 and the Haftorah for this Sedra is 1 Shmuel 1 Samuel 15 : 1 - 34 , where we read how King Shaul , disobeyed HaShem in not killing Agag and how Samuel the Prophet brought to Saul , HaShem's Words and how Agag , from Amalek , was killed , but sadly too late , for he had already procreated and thus his evil line continued down to haman , thus a most suitable Haftorah for Shabbos Parashas Zachor . Sefer Vayikra Leviticus was also referred to as The Book of the Priests Sefer Kohanim . When HaShem Told Moshe to write this part of the Torah , of Vayikra , Moshe , the most humble of men , felt uncomfortable to write the word " Vayikra , " for he felt himself unworthy , as later on in the Torah in Bamidbar Numbers 23 : 4 , Moshe knew that when HaShem Would Communicate With Bilaam , HaShem Only Wrote There , the word " Vayikar , " - " Happened Upon " and here in the Book of Vayikra , HaShem Wrote Out the full word " Vayikra , " Thus Paying Moshe much more respect then Bilaam , who was also to be a prophet of the nations . For Moshe , HaShem Actually Directly Called Moshe , but in the case of Bilaam , where the word is written without an Alef - " Vayikar Elokim , " ( Bamidbar Numbers 23 : 4 ) , HaShem Just Happened By circumstance upon Bilaam , thus showing Bilaam , That HaShem Would Not Really Want To Speak To Bilaam , But Did So out of necessity . So Moshe felt that he did not deserve more honor than others and Bilaam and so Moshe told HaShem that he would prefer not to write out the full word . HaShem , Appreciating Moshe's utmost humility , Decided on a compromise . This compromise was that Moshe would write the word " Vayikra , " but with the last letter Alef , made smaller so that it would look a bit like the word " Vayikar , " ( for a Torah Scroll is written without vowels ) but the Alef would still be there and the fact that it is a smaller letter in size compared to the other letters around it , would always show Moshe's beautiful humility and request . And this is the way the Alef letter appears in every single Torah since it Was Given to Moshe . How Beautiful Is HaShem And How Beautiful Is HaShem's Love For us all , and how beautiful is Moshe And HaShem's Love For him . The small Alef can also be viewed in another way . The letter Alef is the first letter In HaShem's Name ' Elokim ' and so HaShem Making the letter Alef smaller , also shows How Much And How Deep Was HaShem's Love For beloved Moshe , That Even HaShem Himself , Being So Taken By Moshe's humility , That HaShem Himself Felt Humbled With Moshe And So , Wrote His Letter That Heads One Of HaShem's Names , smaller . This can also be viewed in another way . The fact that the letter Alef was made smaller , makes the word " Vayikra , " appear to be almost two different words , the words , ' Vayikar Elokim ' which means , ' And he ( Moshe ) called on HaShem and happened on HaShem , ' by his humility . Such is the Tzaddik . When HaShem Is Closely Connected With a Tzaddik , both HaShem and the Tzaddik , feel the subconscious connection with Each Other all the time and by the Tzaddik's very Righteous Life , is totally and permanently connected with HaShem Our Creator and thus in every action that the Tzaddik does , he is literally calling HaShem , In Closeness . This Closeness With HaShem is what the Book of Vayikra is deeply about . By the very action of The " Korbanos " - " Offerings " , the Levite is doing his duty of bringing HaShem Closer To us . The word " Vayikra " has within it the word ' Karov ' which means ' To come close ' and this is exactly What HaShem Wants and what happens when we make right with HaShem and when we offer an offering to HaShem and even when we offer and give of ourselves and our time and obedience to HaShem And HaShem's Commandments , all this brings us ' Karov ' - ' Closer ' to HaShem . When we make right with HaShem , we open the sweet threads that closely connect us with HaShem And HaShem Turns His Presence To us again . When we make an Aveirah , Chas Ve Shalom , we make distance between HaShem and us , almost as a child might do , if they are constantly recalcitrant and troublesome and disobedient to their dear Parents . The action of the " Korbanos " - " Offerings , " which is also a word within the word " Vayikra , " thus is an Offering to bring close our remorse , and thus ' Karov ' - ' Come close ' again to HaShem . The very act of HaShem Calling us , is surely HaShem's Deep Desire , to return us to the status quo that was at the beginning When HaShem Made Ten Pronouncements In Creating Creation and that it was HaShem's Wish for us to go into The Eternal Shabbos , had the Averiah of Adam Ve Chava never happened . HaShem's Deep Desire Is for us to continue from that point just after HaShem Created Creation and so , enter into Eternity in Gan Eiden . This Is HaShem's Wish When He Calls us to Listen to Him . To Return us to the continuation of those Ten Pronouncements that would then have led into the Eternal Shabbos . This Deep Desire Of HaShem , can even be seen in the very fact That HaShem Wrote the word " Vayikra , " with a small Alef to make it appear to be the word ' Vayikar , " which has a Gematrical value of 316 and if we add those three numbers ( 3 + 1 + 6 ) together we get 10 , The Ten Pronouncements By HaShem Through Which HaShem Created Creation . With the Alef added to this concept , It Is HaShem , Represented By the Alef , Who Has The Sweet And Deep Desire To Return us To the track we were on at the beginning after Creation Was created Then , when we were headed into the Eternal Shabbos in Shamaim . So in this Book of Vayikra , HaShem Teaches About the different Korbanos that are to be brought , and they are not all for the sake of Aveirahs , for some of them can be Olah Offerings - Elevation Offerings as a means to elevate ourselves ; Mincha Meal Offerings , usually of finely ground flower , oil and frankincense , a voluntary offering , with all its different types for different reasons ; the Shlamim - Peace Offering , by those wishing to express their deep love for HaShem ; a voluntary offering ; and the Chatas Sin Offering , to be brought for a Sin . Torah Teaches that no Chatas Offering may be brought for an intentional sin . This teaches That HaShem Does Not Accept a sacrifice of atonement for a sin that is intentional . Torah then mentions the Asham Offering - The Guilt Offering , for an Aveirah that may possibly but not assuredly have been committed and the person , not being totally sure that the Aveirah was committed , brings a Guilt Offering in the meantime and this is among other reasons for this Korban . HaShem , In This Parsha Of The Torah , Reminds us Also Of The Covenant HaShem Made With the lower waters . This Covenant Was Made At Creation When HaShem Split the lower waters and the upper ones , and the lower waters felt that they would not be as close to HaShem as the upper ones and felt also that they would never have the opportunity to rise on level to the upper realms and come close to HaShem , thus wanting to come closer to HaShem , but they felt they would have to remain lower . It was then that the lower waters tried to overflow and rise up above their position and they tried to overcome the Land and it was then That HaShem Had To Create a barrier for the sea , so that it would not be able to overcome the Land . It was then That HaShem Put a barrier for the Sea . HaShem Appreciated their wish to be closer to Him And So , Made a Covenant With the lower waters that the Salt within them would need be put on every meal offering so that a part of the lower waters ( which contains salt ) , would be able to also climb to HaShem . We also used to , on the Festival of Succos do the Drawing of the Water Ceremony for the duration of Succos , which was called ' Brith Beit Ha Shoevah , ' where water would be poured on the Altar and great celebrations would take place . So the lower waters would also get their opportunity to climb to HaShem . Thus Does HaShem's Torah Write In Vayikra Leviticus 2 : 13 , That we are to salt every meal-offering with salt and not discontinue the salt of G-D's Covenant ( that HaShem Made at Creation ) , thus offering " Melach " - " Salt " on our every offering . We continue with this idea today in our times , when we dip our Hamotzi Rolls into Salt , on every Shabbos Kiddush Meal , thus also keeping HaShem's Covenant That HaShem Made With the lower waters at the beginning of Creation . The word for " Salt " is " Melach , " which has the same root letters as the word " Malach " - " Angel , " and the word " Melech " - " King , " For HaShem Is King and His Angels Serve Him without question and so should we all acknowledge HaShem As The One and Only True Creator And King Of Creation and so should we always obey and serve HaShem Without question , just as HaShem's Malachim Angels obey HaShem without question , and so should we honor HaShem , The King of kings and keep The Covenant That HaShem Made With the lower waters and so , use " Melach " - " Salt " on every offering we offer to HaShem . No wonder when we truly repent with tears , begging for atonement , the tears come with salt . True repentance is to be done as HaShem Teaches us In His Torah , only HaShem's Way , The Way HaShem Asks Of us With His Love , For our benefit , As Taught In HaShem's Holy Torah and no other way . So when we have our Seudahs , our Table is like the Altar and on it , we must have Salt . Within the word " Vayikra , " is the word ' Karah . ' HaShem " Karah " - " Calls " us all the time . The word " Karah , " here in the word " Vayikra , " is preceded by a Hebrew letter ' Yud ' - Which Is Also A Letter Of HaShem's Name and in the format of tenses , the ' Yud ' has the word " Vayikra , " refer to a tense format that says " And HaShem Called or Calls , " For It Is HaShem , Every Second Of Creation Who Is Constantly Calling Out To us . In the previous Sedra , The Tabernacle was completed And Now HaShem Calls Out To us . The fact that the Tabernacle had to be completed first with all its construction and only then could the Kohanim serve As HaShem Calls the service to be done , shows us that we all need to prepare ourselves and get ourselves ready through effort and obedience to HaShem And Then HaShem Will Call Out To us . But first we need to prepare . This stage we are in since Creation , is the preparation stage . We notice that as each day goes by that we are coming closer to a head , in Creation and so , this is the time that we need to do our best to prepare ourselves for HaShem To " Vayikra " - " Call " To us . HaShem Is Already Calling To us . HaShem Has Been Calling To us Since The Beginning . We just do not listen . The Words And Voice Of HaShem That Went Out To us On Har Sinai Is Still Going Through the centuries with no echo for nothing can possibly contain or halt HaShem's Powerful Voice ( thus there is no echo in HaShem's Voice ) . All we need to do is listen for It . HaShem's Voice Has Been Traveling Ever Since Then And Will Continue Eternally . We just need to listen and obey and allow HaShem's ' Karov ' - ' Closeness ' in . Then HaShem Can Dwell Within each and every one of us . Now things are getting closer to the End of Days and so we really need to take stock of our lives and what we have become and work to better ourselves through this period , that is trying and testing each and every one of us . This time is not for nothing . This time is an opportunity to grow and better ourselves , making The Right Holy Choices , following HaShem's Way Only . Let us not waste it . Let us not waste a single moment of it , For HaShem Gives us each moment to make the best of each moment , in our obedience to HaShem , by making each moment Holy . Let us give up on false beliefs . Let us follow Torah True . Let us stop Loshoning each other and hurting each other . Let us all become more Pure and Holy and respect HaShem's Holy Torah Laws Of Purity . Let us all respect and honor HaShem and His Holy Torah . Let us all follow HaShem Only and rid ourselves of ways forbidden By HaShem . Let us put our own needs aside , and put HaShem First . Let us all use the breath That HaShem Gives us For Life , for Holy purposes That Serve HaShem Only . Let us all open ourselves to HaShem , So That HaShem Will Radiate From Within us all , and we will then make this World and all of Creation a Place Where HaShem Can Dwell Among us in ' Karov ' - ' Closeness . ' Let us All call out to HaShem And HaShem Will " Vayikra " - " Call " Out To us Openly In Ever Deepest Love . Let us all be As HaShem Wants us all to be and As HaShem Wants HaShem's Creation to be . Let us all " Vayikra " - " Call out " to HaShem with sweet love and then HaShem Will " Vayikra , " Call Out To us to come close to Him and spend Eternity with HaShem In Gan Eiden Shamaim , With HaShem's Love . So was it in the days of Mordechai and Esther Hadassah , for when we all realized that HaShem Alone Is G-D And when we all Came Close to HaShem and returned to HaShem's Torah , the most decisive weapon against amalek who seeks to distance our Jewish people form HaShem And His Torah , Then Did HaShem Come Close To us and Perform A Miracle in Turning Around haman's evil action on his own head and HaShem Saved us In Mercy . Thus must we , As A Torah Commandment , never forget what amalek did to us as we were coming forth from Mitzrayim , when they attacked our hindermost and did not even fear HaShem . So must we also within ourselves , rid ourselves of such sentiments of not fearing HaShem by doing wrongly as we might please instead of rightfully being obedient to HaShem And His Commandments , for in those moments that we so wrongly choose not to fear HaShem , by putting our own wants wrongly first , if is in those moments that we put distance between HaShem and us emotionally , and that is the opposite purpose of Creation , for Creation is to serve and come close to our Creator HaShem , for to complete our path back to HaShem , that we shouldnhave done in the beginning , we are to follow All Of HaShem's Commandments and ' Karov ' - " Vayikra ' - " Come Close To " HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He , In Closeness And Love always . I wish HaShem With Deepest And Ever Eternal Love , A Deeply Close Shabbos Kodesh And Chag Purim Sameach With Beautiful Eternal Love And Beautiful Eternal Closeness , and to all of my fellow Jews a Very Deeply Holy Shabbos Kodesh and Chag Purim Sameach with love and Closeness With HaShem . Our Parsha this Shabbos just after Rosh Chodesh Adar 2 is Parashas Pekudei . Here, Moshe makes a " Pekudei," - " Reckoning, " of what was used in the construction of the Mishkan and Tabernacle. The Parsha discusses the completion of all the Holy Beautiful Articles That HaShem Instructed To Make , by Betzalel Ben Uri Ben Chur of the Tribe of Yehudah and with him was Oholiav Ben Achisamach of the Tribe of Dan , who was a carver , weaver and embroiderer. In this Parsha, we are told of the making of Aharon's Holy Vestments, the Ephod ; The " Choshen , " - " Breatsplate , " ; the " Me'il Ha Eiphod " - " The Robe of the Ephod " ; " The Ketonet ," - " The Tunics ," ; " The Ttzitz ," - " The Headplate , " on which was Inscribed " Kodesh La HaShem , " - " Holy To HaShem ," all the work was completed Exactly As HaShem Commanded Moshe . We note that the words of each part of the work done in this Parsha that refers to " As HaShem Commanded Moshe , " appears 18 times and it was from this very place In The Holy Torah that The Men of the Great Assembly ordained the 18 Blessings of the Shemoneh Esrei that we Jews Daven as the Amidah ( before the 19th one was added about being faithful to HaShem against heretical Avodah Zorah , when it was safer for Yidden to pray this , without murder or reprisals from Non Jews ) . Moshe Inspected the Work brought to him and Moshe saw that all was done according to HaShem's Wish And Command and Moshe Blessed them . This Work had taken three months and was completed on the 25th of Kislev . But HaShem wanted the Inauguration to take place in the Hebrew month of Nissan and so the 25th of Kislev was bypassed. HaShem did not want The Hebrew Month of Kislev to miss out and so this date of the 25th of Kislev became the first day of our Jewish Festival of Chanukah . ( Midrash Says - Shemos by Rabbi Weissman ) . HaShem Commands All to be erected and on completion of Moshe putting It All together when it was all erected , The Cloud Covered the Tent of Meeting And HaShem's Glory Filled the Tabernacle . Only when the Cloud did rise , would K'lal Yisrael journey . By day , The Cloud Of HaShem was on the Tabernacle And Fire by night . If we think very carefully about the weight of all the Holy Articles That Moshe alone put together and set up , when all the Holy Articles were completed , we realize that this task was too great for a human to manage on his own , even a man as strong as Moshe Rabbeinu , for the weight and magnitude of such a task was beyond human power and even the setting up of this Very Holy Tabernacle , which included holding large parts up while underneath inserting other parts was certainly beyond human power to do alone so we can see That HaShem Gave Moshe Special Strength And Power And Ability to do this Beautiful Act Of Moshe's Love To HaShem of setting everything up And WIthout A doubt HaShem Assisted Moshe . The Very Fact that Moshe was such an extremley Holy Man , Allowed him to be in a position of closeness with HaShem and so , he could be a vessel to perform HaShem's Wonders , as Moshe was in total Oneness With HaShem And HaShem's Will . So could we perform super human feats if only we would be close and our actions close and in total alignment with HaShem's Will , doing only for HaShem and His Jewish People for this is how Moshe was , in every action he did in these years in the Wilderness and before we left Egypt , as Moshe spent every moment of his time doing HaShem's Will Only and putting his own will totally aside to serve HaShem Only . This is how we must be . Every moment of his leadership of us at the time , was totally selfless and for HaShem and us only , and so , Moshe's " Pekudei , " - " Reckoning " and accounting was totally for HaShem Only . So should we live our lives the very same way , for HaShem and our people and HaShem's Creation . It is here that the Parsha , the last Sedra of the Second Book of the Torah , Shemos , ends . The Haftorah of this Parsha is from 1 Kings 7 : 51 - 8 : 21 and refers to the Inauguration of The Temple by Shlomo Ha Melech , a similar theme to this week's Sedra . Some Sephardim read the previous Sedra's Haftorah . Moshe , being a most honest and above board leader , made a " Pekudei ," - a " Reckoning ," of all that was donated and went into the construction . Moshe had heard words against him privately , and felt the need to show he had handled all things honestly . The very word " Pakad ," which is within the word " Pekudei , " means " to entrust and appoint , to number and to Command, to inspect and to remember . " Moshe had done all By HaShem's Command and it was Only By HaShem , that after the construction of each part , Did HaShem Allow it all miraculously to come together via Moshe , thus showing that Moshe was the chosen leader of HaShem, for others tried to put It all together and failed , but when Moshe came into contact with each part , it miraculously came together . The word " Pekudei " also has within it a similar root " Pakod Yifkod , " which was pronounced to Yosef in his time , that the one who says these words will be the true redeemer to take us out of Mitzrayim Egypt , when that time arrives . These words mean , "And will surely Remember ," and these are the words that echo our redemption , When HaShem Frees us From Galus . The same idea will come with and in Mashiach's time , When HaShem " Pakod Yifkod ," Will Surely Remember us , where there will be a full " Pekudei , " - " Reckoning and Accounting , " of ourselves and we will become hopefully deserving of the End Of Days . The very Word " Pekudei ," has within it the words ," Pakod Dai , " which means ," Will remember , when it is " Enough , " in other words it refers To HaShem Remembering us To Save us when we have reached our level of holiness that is enough to warrant being saved . Though our Rabbis do show That HaShem May Bring the Time on by His Mercy . It starts with us every day and every hour , making our own " Pekudei, " - " Accounting and Reckoning ," of ourselves to ensure that we have done all we can for HaShem . We are to make a constant reckoning of ourselves and our behaviour and make sure we improve toward HaShem all the time , every moment of every day and night . We are not here to stagnate and waste the precious lives That HaShem Gives us . Our very path must be to always grow toward HaShem , to Emulate Him in all we can and all we do and all we say and think . We need to be honest with our faults so that we can correct them , for hiding them Chas Ve Shalom , gets us nowhere . The only way to truly better ourselves is to admit our mistakes and work on them . HaShem Gives us the opportunity to make a Reckoning of ourselves , only out of His Love for us and our closeness to Him . We should do this every day all the time , not just looking out at others and how they act but first starting to take a " Pekudei , " - " Reckoning " of ourselves . When we have done that and purified ourselves , Then HaShem Will Return Himself To us within us . Then HaShem Will return to be Close to us . It all starts with a " Pekudei ," - " Reckoning , " of ourselves . The Sedra starts with the words " Eileh Ha Pekudei Ha Mishkan , " - " These are the Reckonings of the Tabernacle , " which sounds very much like it includes times still ongoing into the future . In other words , the " Pekudei , " - " Reckoning " from then , is still continuing today , for these words are still a Command from HaShem To always scrutinize ourselves and improve ourselves for HaShem , Always Following HaShem's Holy Mitzvos And Commandments . The sweetest way to do that , is to " Pakod , " - " Remember All That HaShem Does for us and how little we do for Him . Let us start today to reciprocate and give back to HaShem , by making a " Pekudei , " - " A Reckoning " of ourselves , and make every effort to improve ourselves in Torah Mitvos , so we can present ourselves to HaShem , That He May Inaugurate us to Himself . Parashas Pekudei Speaks of the " Reckonings " - " Pekudei , " and refers to the accounting of what was made at that time , and to the specific way , and order and amount , That HaShem Instructed . This can also relate to The Shabbos , for It is a day of our accounting of obedience to HaShem , where we reckon and account our soul , to make it holier and so climb holy levels on The Holy Shabbos . The very articles that were " Pekudei " - " Reckoned " in Parashas Pekudei , in their accounting of being part of all the Holy Things HaShem Instructed , became Holy , in the ' Reckoning , " for in their " Reckoning and Accounting ," they were Inaugurated to their Holy Service . The Same is with the Torah we take out on Shabbos and all the Holy Mitzvos That HaShem Commands us to do like the Mezuzah we put on our door-posts and the Tefillin we wear for Shacharis and the Tallis , we wear in Davening and all other Mitzvos Of HaShem and the Siddurim and Machzorim we Daven with and also with the Holy Seforim we learn from and with every Holy Article that we use , for in using Them , we instill That Holy Article With HaShem's Kedushah From HaShem's Holy Essence . Within the word " Pekudei " - " Reckoning , " is the Start of Creation - The Beginning , " for the Gematriah of the word " Pekudei , " is 80 + 100 + 6 + 4 + 10 = 200 which is also the Gematrical value of the Hebrew Letter ' Reish , ' and if we say the letter as it is spelt as ' Reish , ' then the Hebrew Word ' Reishah , ' means ' Beginning , ' where the ' Ah ' sound at the end of it represents ' Elokim ' - ' HaShem ' and thus shows that the ' Reish- ah ' is that Hebrew Letter Reish with HaShem and so , suggests , ' The Beginning ( of Creation ) With HaShem . ' Also the letter Reish as it looks as a letter , appears to come down from The Higher Planes , down to us , and so with " Pekudei " - taking a final " Reckoning , " we can bring Creation , to it's Final Intention , and enter into the Eternal Shabbos , " With HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu , HaShem , The Holy One Blessed Be He . I wish Beloved HaShem with Sweet Eternal And Forever Love , a Very Sweet And Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov with Forever Faithful Love , and to all my fellow Jews and to all of Creation , a very Sweet and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov with love .
