Parashas Bereishis Parashas Bereishis : - This Shabbos Parsha is Parashas Bereishis , where we return to the Beginning of the Torah again and start reading anew. The Haftorah for this Parsha is usually in Yeshayahu Isaiah 42:5-43:10 and from the very first words of the Haftorah which states , " So Said The G-D , HaShem , Who Creates The Heavens and Stretches Them Forth , Spreads Out the Earth and what grows from it , Gives a soul To the people upon it , and a spirit To those who walk on it , " we can see why it is the Haftorah that goes with the Creation , of which our Parsha this Shabbos begins with . But seeing as this Shabbos Bereishis comes just before Rosh Chodesh , we read instead as the Haftorah , 1 Samuel 20 : 18 - 42 , which makes mention of Rosh Chodesh . HaShem Dictated this To Moshe , who wrote it down exactly as HaShem Instructed , holding within it all the Secrets of The Creation . Starting with a large Hebrew Letter Beis , to show that HaShem , The Alef , Is Before all and Creates all , HaShem Made The " Beis , " which in Hebrew also means " House , " for HaShem Made Creation and all that is in it , as if it is to be a House for HaShem , and thus , we all are to work to make HaShem's Creation , into a ' House ' into which HaShem , With us , Can Dwell . Within the word " Bereishis , " are many secrets within the letters HaShem Used . HaShem Created the Hebrew Alphabet , with which HaShem Made all things , at the Beginning of His Creation Way of this Creation . The Letters in the Word " Bereishis , can also spell " Rosh Beis , " for HaShem Is The Rosh - Head of His House of Creation . Also within the Letters of the Word " Bereishis , " are the Words " Yireh Shabbat , " - " Fear and See the Shabbos , " for Shabbos is HaShem's Eternal Creation which was and will again be the destination of Creation . Also within the Letters of " Bereishis , " the Letters also form the Word " Bara'ta , and the letters Shin and Yud , " where " Bara'ta , " means " And He ( HaShem ) Made , " and the Letters Shin and Yud , which are Gematrically 310 , thus the Secret that shows that this is not the First Creation , for " HaShem Made 310 . " Also within the Letters of the Word " Bereishis , " are the Words " Brit Eish / Ish " which means " HaShem's Covenant with Man " and also " HaShem's Covenant with Fire , " for as our Sages tell us , HaShem Created the Torah and wrote it ( The Original Torah which is with HaShem ) with Black Fire on White Fire . HaShem Also Made A Covenant With us Jews to Keep His Torah , for one who keeps HaShem's Totah , is Truly a Man and all people should follow HaShem's Commandments . Also , within the Letters of the Word " Bereishis , " are the Words " Borei Shtei , " which means , " And He ( HaShem ) Created Two , " which is a reference to The Two Parts to the Torah of The Written Torah - ' She Be Michtav ' and the Oral Torah ' She Be Al Peh , " Showing that both are part of The Torah , Given By HaShem to Moshe Rabbeinu . Also the Two that HaShem Made , refers to the Two first beings of Adam Ve Chavah . Also , that most Creatures on Earth have a Male and a Female and the union of both in Holiness brings us to the One Creator HaShem , for both man and woman work together to bring each other to holiness , working together to lift each other up in learning and work for holiness . HaShem Fore-Saw the Aveirah that people would do and thus , Created right at the Beginning the solution to this in Mashiach , related to the number seven Gematrically . We see this in the first verse , which has Seven Hebrew Words in it . Also , within the first word " Bereishis , " are the words " Borei Sheis , " - " Created Shais , " where Shais was the third Son of Adam and Chavah , the first one conceived out of the Garden of Eiden , and so will thus return as Mashiach , the first one who will lead us back in , at the End Of Days . The Secrets here are Endless and so are the Beautiful Sparks within each Hebrew Word of The Torah of HaShem . With Ten Pronouncements Did HaShem Create Creation as did HaShem Renew His Covenant on Har Sinai with His Jewish People Israel , in Ten Pronouncements . We note the word " Barah , " in the first verse which is like ' Borei , ' which appears in Brochas we say over things we partake of , showing us how , each time we make a Brocha , we are Blessing HaShem's Creation , as well as the article we are Blessing , that was Created at the Beginning of Creation . HaShem Created all things in Six Days and this is a reference to the 6000 years of time that we are in right now till Moshiach , unless he comes early . HaShem First Said in the first verse , That He Created the Heavens ( plural for there are Seven levels of Heaven Shamaim ) and the Earth . So any article we Bless now , waited all this time to finally have it's spiritual essence return to HaShem , and HaShem Knew even then , each and every bite we will take . We must thus always acknowledge HaShem The One And Only Creator , In All Things . We note that at first , the Earth was " Tohu Va Vohu ' - " Empty and Without Form , " for HaShem Had not yet put Himself or His Divine Presence within it , for It Hovered above . Being " Tohu Va Vohu , " - " Empty and without Form , " shows that all was within it yet it was Empty for it hadnt taken form yet , showing how all of us only become fulfilled , when we fulfill our destinies we are meant to fulfill and only then do we have our intended Holy Form . When HaShem Said " Yehi Ohr , " - " Let there be Light , " HaShem All Giving Gave too much Light and Had to retract some of that Original Light for it was too Holy and Bright , so that it could be kept for the End Of Days and some of this Light filters down to us every Shabbos , for It Is The Light Of Eternal Shabbos . Thus All was in the Original Darkness ( which itself was also a Creation ) showing that all was there as potential , and needs to grow and release the true reality of the Light Within . HaShem Separated the Light and Darkness , for so must we keep a separation of positivity from negativity . So was One Day , which starts in the evening before , and so do we Jews , start our Hebrew Day at Maariv . It was on the Second Day that HaShem Created a Firmament in the midst of the Waters to separate between Water and Water . And so became Shamaim , Heaven , which has within it " Shem Maim " - ' The Name of HaShem in Sanctified Water . Also Shamaim , is a mixture of Eish and Maim - Fire and Water , two usually opposing forces , but with HaShem , there is peace . So was the Second day . The Third Day , saw the Creation of Earth Dry Land and within, herb yielding seed , fruit trees yielding fruit ( for at first all trees had fruit that was edible , as was the bark and branches ) . Here , at the gathering together of things on this day , HaShem Called it " Good " unlike the Second day , for here peace and togetherness reigned , which is Good , unlike the Separation on the Second Day which HaShem didn't call good , for peace and not strife , togetherness and not separation , is good . On the Fourth Day , did HaShem Create the luminaries , sun and moon and stars and also some of the Angels , who were not there at the beginning , so that none could say others helped with Creation . Only HaShem Created . Only HaShem Is The Creator . On the Fifth Day were the Sea Creatures Created. And Given the Command to " P'ru Ur'vu " - " to be " Fruitful and Multiply . " The Sixth Day saw the Creation of Animals and beasts and birds , and like all things , to stick with their own kind . To them too , were they to Be fruitful and Multiply and fill Creation . All were Instructed that only the herbage was for food . HaShem Calls this Day " Very Good " for on it , as these words refer , was the Yetzer Horah , to test man and woman so they could grow higher in holiness , overcoming their personal desires , to attain the True Holy Good . On the Seventh Day HaShem Gave the Shabbos , making it Holier over all others , the destination of Creation . HaShem Only Sent Rain to water the Earth , only after Man was Created and prayed for it , for it is up to man , to make himself worthy to Bless the Earth with Rain . HaShem Took dust from all the World and Formed Adam , and for his head , HaShem Took dust from the Holy Land . Hashem Blew into his nostrils the soul of Life . HaShem Made a Garden in Eden and placed the man there to the East . HaShem Gave Man ADaM ( Adam Dovid Moshiach ) the Command to work the Garden , by studying HaShem's Laws and Guard it , from the Yetzer Horah which was the Angel Samael . HaShem Instructed him - Adam , after he was Created with Chava at first together , that they can eat of any tree of the Garden , but or except the Tree in the Midst of the Garden , whose leaves covered the whole Garden , The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Bad / Evil . Joined to this Tree's root , was also the Tree of Life ( of Eternity ) , warning them that they would bring on death into the World if they disobey . Adam was to name the animals and thus see that man needs a separate mate , in order to grow spiritually and so when Adam was naming the animals , Adam was made to realize that none of them was bone of his bones . The name Adam called each animal in Hebrew ( and he also formed the names of each animal in all the 70 languages of the world ) , was prophetic , for example. The Frog in Hebrew is called ' Tzefardeah ' which means ' to fit in ', which is exactly what the frog did in Egypt when it went into the ovens and other things in the Plague of Frogs . HaShem Wanted people to be humble and so can we always be told that even the gnat was Created before we were . So should we always be humble . HaShem , Put Adam to sleep on Mount Moriah , the site of the Temple , and HaShem Separated Man and Woman and Brought Chava to Adam afterwards , where Adam said the first ever Sheva Brochas at their wedding in Gan Eiden , where HaShem Was The First Shadchan and deliverer of the Bride to the Wedding Canopy . Adam was a massively tall man , whose face shone as the sun . The Angels had never seen such a beautiful Creation and some had to be told by HaShem not to worship him . From Adam's Floating Rib was she taken , so that we are to remember that man and woman must be side to and by side on equal levels , both to treat each other with mutual respect . They were both " Arum " - " Naked " but were not ashamed , for no negative desires had they taken on yet . They were also both only naked to each other , which suggested only total openness to each other as a married couple , not only physically , but also emotionally sharing their innermost being and feelings . Samael the Angel enters the snake and tries , when Adam is not in the vicinity , to tempt Chava . We note how the same word " Arum " is used for his " cunning , " showing that how we use things is our choice , for good , or for negativity . He was cunning for he knew , the " nakedness , the Openness of their thoughts and so knew how to and what would entice . The snake approached Chava and at first questioned her pride , getting her to state more than HaShem Commanded , for she said that neither can she eat of the Tree , nor touch it . HaShem Never Commanded them not to touch it , but by her addition , she was caught , in adding more than HaShem Commands . A lesson to us all , not to Add to or Subtract from Torah . All Samael had to do now was push her against the Tree and she was proven wrong that they could touch the Tree . Her reaching her hand up and taking of the Fruit , was now easier an action . In Samael's close physical contact of pushing her , he spiritually raped her and a part of his negativity went into one of the children she was now carrying , Kayin , and so did she hint at this when saying she had made a child with a spiritual part . She persuaded her husband Adam to also partake and so , they became ashamed , for now their Yetzer Horah had been triggered within them . HaShem Manifested Himself in the Garden and they hid for they were ashamed at what they had done and felt different and less able to be in HaShem's Closer Presence , as one does feel when one commits an Aveirah which teaches us that Aveirahs put distance between HaShem and us . When HaShem asked " Ayeka , " - " Where are you ? " HaShem Knew but was giving them an opportunity to own up . Also , this statement meant , Where are you now spiritually on level , for by your action , you are no longer on the same holy level - Madreiga . Each blamed the next and each was punished , the woman with painful childbirth , the man with hard toil , all with the fact that now they would eventually die and the snake , for Loshoning HaShem , to no longer walk upright as before , but to eat dust , like the words he uses when he slandered . They were expelled from the Garden , lest they eat from the Tree of Life and thus would sin be a forever thing and Angels with the ever turning sword , were put to prevent their return . Adam called his wife Chava Eve , where the name Chava is like Chiya which is a snake in Aramaic as a hidden reference to the snake , but in a language ( Aramaic ) that most of the Angels can't speak ( except the Angel Gavriel ) , thus Adam was secretly using the name of the snake , in order to assist the woman in fighting the Yetzer Horah ( where like fights like and like cleanses like , just like the secrets of the Chok of the Parah Aduma . Her name also has within it the word " Chai " - " Life , " which refers to her being the life ancestor of all the living who come after her . The Unique One referred to in these verses is a reference to Mashiach whose spiritual essence had pre-knowledge of Worlds before . Outside the Garden , Kayin and Hevel who according to Rashi ,were born in the Garden before the expulsion , both had different outlooks . Hevel was a spiritual man , while Kayin was a physical man . Both brought offerings to HaShem , and while Hevel brought of the best , Kayin brought of the " Mipri Ha Adamah " - " From the fruit of the ground , " which literally meant that he picked up the rotten fruit that had already fallen to the ground as his offering . Hevel's offering was accepted , but Kayin's was not and he bacame angry , which causes one's spiritual countenance to be lowered , as does anger . A fight broke out between the brothers , where Kayin tricked Hevel , asking him to divide the portion of the World he wants between the two , either the ground , or all that is above . Knowing that Hevel was a spiritual man , when Hevel chose all that is above ( seeing that it was only the two of them and wives born in tow , which Kayin also fought about ) Kayin then ordered Hevel off the portion that is the ground , telling Hevel that Hevel has now chosen all that is above the ground . A fight ensued and Kayin kept trying to chase Hevel off the land , till they reached a rocky precipice and Kayin wanted to throw him off . Hevel gained the upper hand and wanted to get up and walk away , when Kayin deceitfully came and slew him with a rock on the head and tried to cover it up with earth . The Earth cried out to HaShem refusing to settle with the murdered Hevel's blood and Kayin was forced to go to Nod as a wanderer , to be killed in the seventh generation . The descedants of Kayin are then given in this Torah Portion and his relative and descendant who was called Naamah , actually became Noach's wife . She was a righteous woman . A descendant of Kayin , Enoch is also metioned as a city builder , which meant in this context and verse , that his generation , was the first to introduce Avodah Zorah Idol Worship to humanity . It started as people then first looked up to the heavenly bodies as marvels of HaShem and then they started to pray to them and build temples and cities around their idols that they put for these false idols . How sad . During this time , Adam had actually separated from his wife Chava for 130 years after they left the Garden , in order to try and atone for the sin committed . It was after this that Seth Shais was born . This took place when a descendant of Kayin called Lamech , who had two wives , one for childbearing and another for pleasure as it is stated , got angry with Lamech whose son was Tubal-Cain , who used to lead him by the way for Lamech was blind and it happened once that Tubal-Cain shot and killed Kayin by mistake , thinking he was an animal , due to the sign put on Kayin after the murder . Lamech felt very worried he would be punished and consulted with his wives , who didn't want to live with him . He demanded they return and it was suggested they seek advice from Adam , who they told had also separated from his wife and shouldn't give advice till he himself returns to his wife Chavah , which Adam did after the 130 years and so , Shais was born . The descendants of Adam through Seth Shais are then given till Noach , who found grace in HaShem's Eyes , and part of the curse against the ground was lifted in Noach's honor and so was he called Noach which means Rest and Comfort ( from HaShem's Decree against the Earth after being cursed after Adam's and then Kayin's sin . It is interesting that Noach's Father was 777 years old when he passed away , where this number is taken today as a positive number , for the generation after Lamech was Noach , a very holy man , who brought , with his morals , rest and comfort to the Earth . Adam was 930 when he passed away , where he was due to live till 1000 , for Adam gave up 70 years for his distant descendant Dovid Ha Melech who was to die at birth ( Adam Dovid Moshiach ( from whose line ( Dovid ) ) , Moshiach is due to come ) . Noach was 500 when he bore three sons Shem , Cham and Yafes . Two Malachim Angels came before HaShem requesting HaShem to send them down and they would show how they wouldn't become corrupt as people had become . HaShem Warned them they would but they refused to listen and so they came down and when they were down here , they could not control their desires and so they cohabited with the daughters of men and so were born the Nephilim , the Fallen ones , of which Og ( who survived the Flood the Mabul by holding on to the outside of the Ark , where Noach had built for him a platform and little roof cover ) . Also related to these Nephilim , was Sichon . Both Sichon and Og were eventually killed by Moshe , as told in Torah . Relatives of these Nephilim were also the Giants that the spies who came to spy out Canaan reported seeing , when the sad incident of the spies happened in Moshe's time . HaShem Saw the evil that was done and the theft and Had heartfelt pain at how they behaved and their evil ways and so Decided on the Mabul , the Flood , but Noach , a man righteous in Noach's generation , found grace in the Eyes Of HaShem . So ends the Parsha . HaShem Made For us all such a Beautiful Creation With So Many Special Things . Creation is filled with everything that it needs to subsist . Creation is filled with the answer to every ailment and every question that we and all of Creation would ever need . HaShem Saw To Putting Into Creation , the answer to every Aveirah we might make , that would ever affect our World . HaShem Created this all right at Creation . Before HaShem Created Creation , HaShem Planned Every Part Of It . Into His Plan , He Wrote The Answers to all our Needs . HaShem Looked Into this Plan , and Created Creation . This Plan , Was HaShem's Torah Wisdom . HaShem Wrote His Torah two thousand years before HaShem Made Creation , and as our Rabbonim tell us , HaShem Looked Into His Torah And Created The World . Only HaShem Truly Owns The World . We become permitted users of the World , when we make our Brachot and so then have permission to eat from and use What HaShem Made . In making our Brachot , we are actually Blessing what ever we are about to partake in or of , that was Created Right At The Beginning of Bereishis , and so , that article , that waited so long to of service , when we make our Brachot , we take that article's Spiritual Essence and return it on High , where our Brocha gives us permission to partake of it . To not say a Brocha before hand , is to take that which HaShem Ahs Made , without permission , and this is akin to ' Ganeivah ' - ' Stealing / Theft . ' This is seen in the very word ' Ganav / Geneivah , ' for the word ' Ganav ' has within it , the words ' Gan ' - Meaning ' Garden ' and ' Neveilah ( which is also an animal that died in the field without Kosher Shechitah and thus impure ) , ' - Meaning ' Forbidden / Evil . ' All HaShem Makes , HaShem Put In His Garden , and to take , or steal anything without His Permission via the Brocha before and afterwards , from His Garden ( as Creation here bears out how HaShem Made All Things And Put them into His Garden Gan Eiden ) , is to do Evil and take that which is forbidden , till it is Blessed . HaShem Made The Tree of Life and The Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil , and HaShem Gave Instructions regarding the Tree of Knowledge . Those Instructions were not obeyed , and thus what was forbidden , was taken without HaShem's Permission . HaShem Knows when something can be permitted and when it is forbidden and we are always to trust Him . The result of not listening , took us from Gan Eiden , to struggle and toil and for woman , to have pain in childbirth , and the Yetzer Horah was activated and so did Death come into the World . If we look at things from HaShem's Point of View , HaShem Could Just as well have not Created us all . HaShem Had Peace before we hurt Him . HaShem In His Totally Giving and Kind Ways , Made and Opened up for us a Beautiful Created World , with all things we need . HaShem Must Have Had Such Hopes and Joy , in His Giving , even though HaShem Knows the future , HaShem Still Gave us the benefit of the doubt and Gave With Full Love . If we look around us today at all the beautiful things That HaShem Made For us And How He Filled His World , the Love He Must Have Felt For us , Is Totally Astounding . How Sad He Must Have Really Felt , when we so disappointed Him . HaShem's Own Words Certainly Bear this out , when HaShem Says in Bereishis Genesis 6 : 5 - 6 " HaShem Saw that the wickedness of Man was great upon the Earth , and that every product of the thoughts of his heart was but evil always . And HaShem reconsidered having made Man on earth , and He had heartfelt sadness . " How very sad for HaShem . All these Amazing actions Of His Love in Making A World ready for man to come , and Making man last , as if preparing the World for man on a platter , and then we come and disappoint and hurt Him so deeply . All HaShem Asks of us is to listen to Him and not go our own way , for our own sake . Thankfully to Noach , this one Tzaddik , found grace in the eyes of HaShem . How this shows that even one person and his or her obedient and good moral actions to HaShem , can save Creation . We should all be that one person . HaShem Created Adam Ve Chava , at first joined , and had Adam see all the animals and name them . HaShem Has Purpose In All That He Does . HaShem Knew that Adam would want the separation physically from Chava , so that they could afterwards join and become one . But the need for their separation , had its purpose . Rashi , points out how this had to be , so that HaShem Alone Is One and Unique . There is not another like HaShem , Who Is One and Who Was Alone When He Made Creation . Thus the need for Adam and Chava to be two , is so important , for only HaShem Is Oneness and should Humans have had this Oneness , they may have tried to profess themselves deified , Chas Ve Shalom . Only HaShem Is One . Adam and Chava , only noticed their physicalities as something to cover , after their Aveirah . Before that , they were not ashamed , for before their Aveirah , the Yezter Horah , was not yet awakened within them . Once they sinned , then the negative desire came . Before this , even their coming together , was purely to serve HaShem , and did not contain a part for their own personal and selfish gratification . So after the sin , their own Spiritual holy level dropped , so it is so understandable what HaShem meant , when He Came looking for them in the Garden and Said , " Ayeka , " - " Where Are you ? " HaShem Knew Full Well where they were , and was not asking them physically , but Spiritually , where are they now , in Spiritual Level , lower than they were before , as if to make them realize , how disobedience leads to a need to then ask oneself after the Aveirah , where Spiritually one has lowered oneself to . Torah Laws , are there to help us and keep us higher and higher . Sadly each one named the next one and so were we sent out of Gan Eiden . The dust of Loshon Horah against HaShem , that the snake spoke , resulted in him having that dust as punishment for his food . HaShem Clearly Says about Adam , that , L It is not good that man be alone ; I will make him a helper corresponding to him . " This is in reference to Chava , whom HaShem refers to as an " Eizer K'negdo , " literally meaning " A Helpmeet Helpmate Opposite to him . " This might be quite a blow to those males who havbe a high ego , for HaShem Did Not Make Man as ' the be all and end all ' of the family , but Gave equal status to the woman . The very fact that HaShem Calls Woman , a Helpmeet Helpmate opposite to him , means that she has a right to contradict him when he is wrong . She is not just to be a puppet on a string for him , but to be a true help-mate , in correcting his wrongs ( of course in a respectable way ) and so , lead him higher to holiness . That is the most proper help- mate one can be , to help bring your partner closer every day , to HaShem . The same goes the other way around , so a true Spiritual Marriage , consists of the couple coming together and working together to bring each other back to Holiness and Gan Eiden . Our Rabbonim say figuratively , that it is as if she is to be a helpmate corresponding to him if he is worthy and a helpmate opposing him , if he is unworthy . May all couples find themselves worthy . HaShem Made Creation , and HaShem Wants us to make every part of it holy . HaShem Wants us to bring Holiness into every part of It . This can only be done , if we keep HaShem's Torah . So HaShem's Creation is a partnership , between HaShem and us . HaShem Made All Things . HaShem Wants us to help complete Creation ( not that HaShem Needs our help , but loves us enough to Give us this opportunity ) by bringing HaShem's Essence into all things , by keeping His Torah and following HaShem Completely . By doung this , we invite HaShem To Live Among us , and Be Close to us , thus fulfilling HaShem's Command , of making a place within us and our World , For HaShem To Dwell Within . This Creation is HaShem's House after all . HaShem Created Creation , with the word " Bereishis , " which starts and ends with a ' Bet ' and ' Tav , ' which when put together spells the word ' Bait ' - ' House . ' So Creation is like HaShem's House and it is our daily task to invite HaShem Into every part of it , of His House , His Bait . To do that , the middle letters in between the ' Bet ' and ' Tav ' spells the word ' Roshi , ' - ' My Head , ' the holiest part of a human being , and if we invite HaShem Into His Bait , His House , His Creation , by doing as He Asks , we become one with HaShem's Mind , and so become one with HaShem's purpose for Creation , in following HaShem's Torah , His Mind , His Rosh , His Head so to speak , and Creation will reach its final holy destination , and Heaven and Earth Will be one , within the Beautiful Mind of HaShem's Oneness . May it be soon in our days , in full appreciation and thanks always due , to all that HaShem Does for us all . Thank you ever so much for Creation And All That You Have Made , HaShem Ha Kadosh Baruch Hu , HaShem The Holy One Blessed Be He . Shabbos Chol Ha Moed Succos :- This Shabbos is Shabbos Chol Ha Moed Succos , so we read in the Torah about Succos in the Torah portion and coming up in a few days is Simchas Torah , when we read the last portion of the Torah called Parashas Vezos Haberachah which finishes the Sedras for the year and we straight away start to read the Torah from the Beginning , returning to Parashas Bereishis . Succos ends and HaShem Requests of us to celebrate another Yom Tov separate from Succos called Shemini Atzeres on which we pray to HaShem for Rain . We note that throughout the Succos Festival, 70 Parim Bulls form the Korbanos , and this number is representative of the nations of the World , so we Jews are also praying for the nations to be forgiven and to come to HaShem . So HaShem Says to us that seeing as we also gave our Succos Yom Tov for the sake of not only ourselves , but to also pray for the other nations , HaShem Tells us that He Wants To Give us an extra day Yom Tov just for us , so we , HaShem's Special guests , can spend it in closeness with HaShem , and so , this is one of the reasons that HaShem Gave us Shemini Atzeres , the Holy Eighth Day Feast . We note that on this day Yom Tov , only one Par Bull is mentioned , thus representing us Jews Israel as HaShem's Close Nation . This is very representative of Mashiach, where after the number 7 for the Seven Days of Succos , on that next number Eight that takes us into the World To Come Olam Habah , so is Shemini Atzeres , and certainly a day to make Prayers for HaShem's Rain to Water the Earth and From HaShem , Bring the Earth Blessings . In the Beginning , HaShem Created The World , but did not yet send Rain till Adam Asked for it to water the Earth , and so , is the Blessing to Nourish the Earth , dependent from HaShem , on our behavior and obedience to HaShem . The Succos Festival , is very much linked to Water , and Blessings of nourishment for Creation , and we used to show this on this Festival , by the Water Drawing Ceremony that was performed at this time and also the Willow Branches as a part of the Arba'a Minim Four Species of Lulav and Esrog, that we wave during Succos , for the Willow Branches often grow near a Water Source and the Willow Tree needs plenty of Water for Nourishment , just like , or representative of our Jewish People , that survive By HaShem , if we constantly Delve Deeply into Torah , our Holy Spiritual Nourishment . Succos as I mentioned before , is a time where we leave our permanent dwellings , and reside in the Succah , Reminiscent of the Clouds of Glory that HaShem Surrounded us with in the Wilderness . Here we have the very Way things should be , that we are to put our total trust and faith in HaShem To Watch Over us , and so , can we dwell in our Succahs ( which is our reminder of the Clouds of Glory ) , in total faith of HaShem's Care . The Clouds of Glory , were given in honor of Aharon Ha Kohein , and the High Priest is reminiscent of Yom Kippur and the Day of Atonement , of which is Shemini Atzeres , on which also , a single bull was mentioned as a Chatas , just like on Shemini Atzeres , which shows that Yom Kippur is linked to Shemini Atzeres , we as a Chosen people of HaShem , spend closeness with HaShem . During this time , as I mentioned , we finish reading the last book of the Torah and start the Torah again from the Beginning of Bereishis . In days of old , we used to complete the Torah Reading in three years , but we now complete the Torah Sedras in a year , straight away , beginning anew , just as HaShem , Makes every day new for us to improve ourselves . HaShem Is Creating every second , for if HaShem Would Stop , even for a short while , Creation would cease to be , so HaShem Creates all the time . Torah is never ending , and so , each time we read the Torah , new insights show themselves , for HaShem's Knowledge and Wisdom is far beyond Infinite . We , during these days , complete the book of Devarim Deuteronomy and so , read the last Sedra that Moshe was Given and wrote , called , as I mentioned Parashas " Vezos Haberachah " - " And this is the Blessing . " In this Sedra , Moshe , before his return back to HaShem , gives his final blessing to the Tribes of Israel . Before Yaakov returned to HaShem , he too Blessed the Tribes . We note that in this Sedra of Vezos Haberacha , the words start with the Hebrew word " Vezos " - " And this ." How interesting that also when Yaakov was Blessing his sons the Tribes , we find there , in Bereishis Genesis 49:28 that there too , the word " Vezos " - " And this , " also appears . This shows , that Yaakov's Blessings are not separate from Moshe's Blessings to the Tribes , but in fact , Moshe's Blessings are actually a continuation of Yaakov's Blessings and thus are one . We also note that Moshe , when introducing the Torah in Devarim 4:44 , he also uses the word " Vezos , " in the verse , which says , " Vezos HaTorah Asher Sam Moshe Lifnei Bnei Yisrael , " - " This is the Torah/Teaching that Moshe placed before the Children of Israel , " a verse that we are familiar with that we say on Shabbos in reference to the Torah . So , the Blessings of the Tribes by Yaakov and Moshe are very much interlinked , with the Torah itself , for it is by our closeness to the Torah , that our Tribes of Israel will earn deserved Blessings . We know , how HaShem Offered the Torah to other nations and how they turned Him down and how we accepted it , saying " We will do and we will listen , " - accepting it to do , before knowing what it included and thus showing trust in HaShem and obedience to HaShem's Will , unlike the other nations , and this is one of the things HaShem Loves us for and Keeps us in His Special Place close to Him . We note in this Sedra that HaShem First Offered it to others , for it clearly says how HaShem Had Come to Sinai where we were Given the Torah , after shining forth first from Seir , where it was first offered to Eisav , who didn't accept it as the Torah forbids killing , and also how HaShem Had also first gone to Mount Paran , where Ishmael and his people dwelt , and they didn't want to accept it due to the forbidding of Ganav Theft . This is all in the second verse of this Sedra of Vezos Haberacha . It was us Jews who stood at the foot of Sinai to receive HaShem's Torah . Moshe then continues to Bless the Tribes . Moshe Blesses Reuvein to live and not die , as a protection for them being one of the first at the forefront of battle to conquer the Holy Land under Yehoshua . Moshe Blessed Yehudah and its kings and even refers to Dovid Hamelech who was forced to flee from Shaul and so return safely and that HaShem Should Always Help against his enemies . Moshe Blesses Levi for the Priesthood and to be Teachers to Israel . Moshe Blesses Binyamin and refers to him and his Tribe as HaShem's Beloved , for Binyamin never committed an Aveirah and was not part of the sin against Yosef , that the other brothers perpetrated on Yosef . Moshe refers to Binyamin as HaShem's Shechinah " Resting between his shoulders , " and this refers to HaShem's Shechinah in the Temple , for the Temple would rest in Binyamin's portion . Binyamin , besides being a most holy and pure man , would also let his Father rest supporting Yaakov on his shoulders as an assist to walk , and so , would Binyamin now be rewarded with having HaShem's Shechinah in the Beis Ha Mikdash , " between his ( Binyamin's Portion ) shoulders . " Moshe 's Blessing to Yosef 's Tribe is in reference to Yosef's purity and modesty in keeping away from the wife of Potifera and also a Blessing to Yehoshua , descended from Yosef , as a Blessing for strength over other nations , especially the ones in Canaan , that would be Yehoshua's next task to , with HaShem's Help , conquer . Moshe Blessed Zevulun and Yissaschar together for they both worked with each other , for while the one was busy with commerce to support both , it is for the purpose that the other may have time to study and so , both would get the kavod of each other's efforts . Moshe Blessed Gad with strength for Gad was to also be in the forefront of battle for Canaan . Moshe Blessed Dan too with strength , for Dan's portion would be near the border of Israel and so Dan would need to be strong to defend Israel's border . Moshe Blessed Naphtali with favor at the Sea , for so would be Naphtali's portion in Israel near the Sea . Moshe Blessed Asher to be pleasing to his brothers , and this was also in reference to the women of the Tribe of Asher who were blessed with spiritual beauty to be wives to Kohanim Gedolim and others who build up Israel and also that members of this Tribe would " dip his feet in oil , " in reference to the olive trees in his portion and the Anointing Oil of Sacred Avodah tasks by the Kohanim , who got their Oil from the Tribe of Asher from Hashem . Moshe then Blesses the borders of Israel and Praises HaShem . HaShem Then Calls Moshe and Tells Him his time has come to return to HaShem . Moshe bids farewell to the Tribes and ascends the Plains of Moav To Har Nevo . HaShem Showed Moshe all the Land , the Land HaShem Swore to Avraham Yitzchak and Yaakov . The Angel of Death was not able to take Moshe's Soul and only HaShem with a Divine Kiss brought Moshe back to HaShem as Torah says here , " Al Pi HaShem " - " By The Mouth of HaShem . " ( Devarim 34:5 ) . The Angels Michael , Gavriel and Zagzagael prepared Moshe and only then did HaShem Take Moshe's Soul . Michael is the Angel of the Jewish people . Gavriel is the Angel of Strength that often played a role in the growing and saving of our people and the Angel that destroyed Sodom and Amorah , Admah and Zeboiim , and the Angel Zagzagael is the Angel that is known as The Angel of The Torah , that often taught Torah to Moshe and this Angel is one of the highest Angels close to HaShem , sometimes known as the Angel Metatron , that often Spoke for HaShem , even to Avraham at the Akeidah , an Angel of pure holy fire , that our holy Sages say , may have once been Enoch , who went to Heaven early , as mentioned in Bereishis , and that might have been made into an Angel . Torah tells us that Moshe was buried in the land of Moav opposite Beth - Peor and his grave is no where to be found , so that no one would try and idolize him and that other nations would not be able to put up their pagan shrines near him . The place of his burial was chosen for a reason . The sin of the generation that were enticed by Moav to sin , was a very big sin and while Moshe was alive , the negative force that came about due to this sin was kept at bay while Moshe lived . Now that Moshe passed , his place of burial in this exact spot , would still stand to keep this negative entity at bay from hurting Israel . Our Rabbonim tell us that HaShem Told Moshe that he would awaken at the End of Days , to lead the generation of the Wilderness into Israel . The Children of Israel mourned for Moshe for 30 days . Moshe passed away to the exact day he was born , to the exact hour and minute at the age of 120 . Yehoshuah found the loss of Moshe very hard and HaShem Had to Tell him to continue with his tasks now as leader , for HaShem Told him that He too would miss Moshe as a man , for who now would pray for the forgiveness of Israel as Moshe continually did . The nation of Israel obeyed Yehoshuah and Yehoshuah , who mourned Moshe almost like a Father that Moshe was like to him and his beloved Teacher . Torah tells us that there never was and never will be another Prophet like Moshe , whom HaShem Knew Face to Face , for Moshe had reached the 50th Gate of Wisdom and Holiness and his strength was unabated and his holiness , gained by holy deeds of obedience to HaShem . So ends the Book of Devarim and the Five Books of Moses. Torah starts and ends with a Giving , where , HaShem Gives us Creation , as mentioned in Bereishis and here ends in Devarim , with all the Giving of HaShem to Israel in HaShem Saving Israel . So must we be , every day , to start and end our day with an action of giving for HaShem . Moshe Warranted HaShem to Take Moshe's Soul Personally , for Moshe had busied himself with Yosef's coffin , while others were collecting things from the Egyptians , just before they left Egypt . Moshe , the holiest of men , was saved from the Nile by HaShem and so was his name Moshe which referred to his being drawn out of the water . Here again , do we have reference to water , like I mentioned my words above to do with the Festival of Succos . Moshe's holiness and beauty of spirit is unmatched by any other human being . His love for HaShem and his people is like no other . His total selflessness is like no one else ever was . Even at the time of his passing , his main and beloved concern , was for HaShem and his people Israel . No man was ever like him and never will be . He lived his whole existence for HaShem and his people . He was born totally pure and circumcised , and already spoke to HaShem when he was 3 months old . He never acted like a prince in Egypt , even though he could have , seeing that he was brought up by the daughter of Pharaoh , who became known as Batya ( daughter of HaShem ) , for she converted to Judaism . Yet Avigdor Moshe as a baby would not suckle from anyone but his own Mother Yochaved and followed closely the teachings of his own Father Amram . Moshe , never acted as a prince , but went out to his own brothers in the brick pits and saved even those of his own who were against him . Moshe never strayed from HaShem and never would let a single sheep get lost , but cared always for each and every sheep under his care , ( as he did for every Jew ) , when he worked for Yisro who became his Father-In-Law . Moshe's pleadings to enter the Holy Land in Parashas Va'eschanan show that within the Gematriah of this word , Moshe pleaded 515 times to enter the Holy Land . This 515 times covers each and every Jew till the year 6093 , the year of the End of Days , when Mashiach is due . We get this , from the date of Moshe's passing in Adar 2488 , to which we add 515 times the amount of 7 year Sabbatical years which comes to 3605 years to which we add the number 2488 , the year of Moshe's passing and we get the year 6093 , the year of Mashiach. Thus Moshe prayed for us till the End of Days . Even though we angered him and were partly responsible for the happening at the rock , Moshe never held any anger towards us but still cared only for HaShem and us , before he passed on . We owe Moshe so much and we didn't even pray to HaShem not to take him , yet Moshe constantly prayed for us to be forgiven . So I will end my Parsha post , asking all of us to do as Moshe did for us constantly , to pray for his Neshoma and ask that HaShem Continually Bless him and Watch over him and Shower him constantly and forever with Brochas and Sweet Love Always . For the sake of HaShem and Moshe , let us all make this year a year to come closer to HaShem and His Torah and to go out of our way to Keep all the Commandments and Mitzvos and live for HaShem as HaShem Wants us to live . Let us all make this a year that all will drop false wrong beliefs and that we will all study Torah and follow only HaShem's Torah and HaShem's Laws .We owe this to HaShem in HaShem's Creation , for it is because of HaShem that all of Creation lives and breathes and exists . Let us all from now on , this Year , do it all HaShem's Way and make this World , a Place for HaShem To Dwell among us in HaShem's Love . Parashas Haazinu before Succos :- Our Parsha this Shabbos just before Succos is Parashas Haazinu . This Song was told to K'lal Yisroel on the last day of Moshe's life . This song is one of seven that is of Holy Origin mentioned by our sages . The first song was sung by Adam when he experienced the first Shabbos and the Psalm of Shabbos in Tehillim is from him . The next one , the second one , was sung at the Yam Suf after we were saved . The third one is this song of Haazinu , given by Moshe . Then came the one of Yehoshuah , the fourth one , about the defeat of the 31 kings of K'na'an . The fifth song was the song of Devorah in the book of Shoftim and the sixth song is our Haftorah for this portion , which is found in II Shmuel 22:1-51 and is the song of David , thus related to our Parsha as it is also a Shir ( Orthodox Union Rabbi Leibtag ). The seventh Song will be sung in Mashiach's Time , may it come soon in our days ( Midrash Says Devarim by Rabbi Weissman ). This song of Moshe has within it the past , present and future , all in one , where past behaviors are referred to , and also the present , as well as the future of what is to come . The first part of the Song that goes up to the part of HaShem being the Rock , has 40 words in it , and is a reference to the 40 days and 40 nights that Moshe spent up on Har Sinai . Moshe starts out the Song , calling on Heaven and Earth as Witnesses , for they will be there long after Moshe has passed on , and thus can be witnesses to our behavior as well as being tools in HaShem Punishing us or Rewarding us for how we act . Moshe asks that his teaching - the Written Torah drop like rain on us and his utterance - the Oral Torah flow like dew . Rain penetrates and is stronger , whereas dew , falls on us gently and is taken in also emotionally , as the Oral Torah - our Mishna and Gemorrah need be taken in . Moshe has accepted HaShem's Judgement on him , and so , calls HaShem ,Who Is Always Perfect , 'The Rock ' in reference to the Rock that Moshe struck ( So Moshe is saying that HaShem's Judgement on him is Perfect ) , which brought about his judgement . Moshe reminds us that if we sin , the blame is totally ours and that it is to HaShem that we are hurting and sinning to . Moshe reminds us that HaShem Created Creation for a people that will keep His Torah and this is what the Jews are to do , for all people are numbered by the Children Of Israel . Yaakov was part of 70 people who came to Egypt and so , are there 70 nations in the World . HaShem Was " Like an Eagle that arouses its nest and hovers over its young spreading its wings and taking them carrying them on its pinions . " HaShem Refers To Himself as an Eagle that is very protective of its young as HaShem Is Protective of the Jewish people , and just as when an Eagle comes down to its young , it hovers first , so as not to scare or arouse its young ,so does HaShem Come Down to us gently and protectively . HaShem Also Uses the analogy of an Eagle , as an Eagle does something that other birds do not do . When carrying its young , it always carries its young on its back while flying , so as to keep itself as a barrier between its young and anything below that might hurt its young. So does HaShem protect and cover us . Moshe Tells us how HaShem Is One and there is no other . Moshe again brings up the analogy of the " honey from a stone and oil from a flinty rock , " showing understanding again and acceptance to HaShem's Judgement of Moshe's actions at the rock . Moshe talks of the future at a time when the Jewish people will be known also as Yeshurun , with the word ' Yashar , ' meaning ' Straight ' within it , which is thus a name we will have in reference to our holy , straight upright ways as we follow HaShem's Torah . Moshe's Song then talks of the Aveirahs we will do and how we will in the future sadly follow Avodah Zorah , and how HaShem will then send nations against us that will wake us up to who we are . HaShem Will Then send punishments against us and HaShem Uses the terminology of " My arrows shall I Use up against them , " which can also be looked upon as a positive thing , for HaShem Is Also Saying that HaShem Will Use up All His Arrows and we will still survive for HaShem Won't ever destroy us completely . HaShem Will Send negativities against us and Mazikim Demons , that cannot be persuaded against meting out punishment and HaShem Will Scatter us and Send us into Galus Exile , which again is not only a bad thing , for in spreading us out , so we will survive when some nations will go against us . The Nations that attack us , won't realize at the time , that it is only by HaShem , that they can attack us , for they have no power of their own . Whenever we stray , Chas Ve Shalom , we will face punishment .If we don't keep Eretz Yisroel as HaShem Wants , then punishment will be the deserved result . Moshe quotes HaShem in saying , that HaShem is HaShem and that HaShem Is The Only G-D And Creator - that there is no other . HaShem Makes It Clear in this Song , How HaShem Will at the end , punish those who hurt us Jews , intoxicating His Arrows with blood and His Sword Will devour flesh , because of all those through history who caused us Jews death and to bleed and kept us captive . HaShem Will " return vengeance on His enemies , " those that went against and hurt His Jewish people who kept His Laws , as only we Jews did , while other nations went their own way, following other beliefs that were not of G-D . HaShem Directly States , " He Will Bring Retribution upon His foes and He Will Appease His Land [ ( Israel ) , from being attacked by those who want to throw Jews out ] , and His People ( Jews ) , who have been maligned , murdered and tortured through the centuries , just for being Jewish and being the only ones truly following HaShem And His Laws . Moshe finishes the Song and warns us to take heed of it and to follow and perform all the words of this Torah , which is our life and will prolong our days . It was when Moshe was finished speaking , That HaShem Commanded Moshe to ascend this Mount of Avarim Mount Nevo , and see the Land of Canaan that HaShem Was Giving us as an inheritance . The view that Moshe saw of the Land was beyond the view of a human being , for Moshe saw a view of the land that was unprescedented , and a view that was from on high , a view that was also totally spiritual , a view that we as human beings , couldn't imagine , a view as sweet as Gan Eiden Itself , for Moshe saw the physicality of the Land as it was , as it is then and as it will be in times to come , a vision and view of Eretz Yisroel , as HaShem Intended it to look , as a Garden in Eden , for Moshe had reached such a high and lofty , pure and holy level , that he was able to view Eretz Yisroel , the way HaShem Intended it , at Creation , to be . No wonder , Moshe couldn't enter it in his physicality , for he had reached a level of holiness , that allowed him to be in the Sublime Presence of the Shechinah of HaShem and HaShem Saw a more broader view of Israel in its future holy time, just as Moshe now could perceive a more true view of just how Holy , Eretz Yisroel can be . So ends this Parsha . This Parsha that is called " Haazinu " - " Give Ear " is a Command to the Heavens and the Earth . When Moshe asked or rather politely commanded the Heavens to " Haazinu " - " Give Ear " and the " Earth to hear the words " of Moshe's mouth , they wondered at this human being giving them orders , but Moshe had reached such a lofty level , that HaShem Had them obey Moshe , for HaShem Made us to be partners in His Creation and when we reach a very high level of holiness , HaShem wants us to ensure that His Creation bends to HaShem's Will , so when we do as HaShem Commands , we are thus becoming one with HaShem's Intention for Creation , and so , we can work properly with the rest of Creation , to help lead the rest of Creation , to Emulate HaShem's Beautiful Way . The reference to ' Hearing ' and using of the Ears , in this Song , is for a very specific reason . Hearing with the ears is the start of obeying HaShem . The ears are not there on the sides of our head to just look nice . HaShem Made them to be as close to our thinking and acting brain as possible , so the ' Hearing ' of HaShem , can go straight to the brain , which must command obedience to what is heard . It is the organ that HaShem Created to start us obeying . But the ears , right now , can only listen to HaShem , if they tune out from the body's own personal wants and tune into HaShem . Interesting then is the fact that the ears face outwards , where we can get direction from HaShem on how to behave . We have two ears , just like there are many twos in Creation , and this calls upon us to take extra heed . Just as Heaven and Earth ( Two ) are mentioned , so do we have two ears , to listen to HaShem's Command through both . Heaven and Earth play a role in Creation , where we use one of them to work toward the other . We use Earth and what it contains to help ourselves build ourselves up to Heaven . Earth comes with its many physical tests and desires , and if we can get the Earth part of ourselves , to work toward fulfilling HaShem's Commands , then we can be Blessed with the result of Heaven . That is a case where Heaven and Earth work together to bring about a positive result in the person . But if we let the Earth part of us stray from HaShem , Chas Ve Shalom , then we become more Earth physical bound and lose the Reward of HaShem that He Would Give us from Heaven . So , two places , as Moshe chose to be our long lasting witnesses , are there for us and with them , two choices always show themselves - to choose G-D or to choose our own wishes . The choice of our own wishes , leads nowhere , but the choice of HaShem's Wish , leads to HaShem and His Intended Wish for Creation . But to choose wisely , we must first tune out of ourselves and really listen . HaShem Is Always in Communication with us . We just have to tune out from ourselves , and " Haazinu " - " Give Ear . " We can choose to continue to listen to the beat of the Earth's physicality and look downwards and be pulled away from holiness , and HaShem's Commands , Chas Ve Shalom , or we can choose to constantly look upward and work our way up to Heaven . That ' Two , ' is constantly appeaing . The choice of which of the Two we choose , is our own choice , but what ever it is we choose , the choice comes with either a Blessing or a Curse , that we ourselves bring upon ourselves if we don't listen to HaShem . The term " Haazinu , " is active , for it translates as " Give Ear . " In other words , we mustn't just sit back and listen to what comes along physically speaking , but we must take an active role in giving our ear , a holy pathway to pursue . We mustn't just wait and let the Yetzer Horah overcome us . We must get up and and actively ' give our listening , ' to Holy Ways , to HaShem . HaShem Speaks to us through time . His Voice cannot be stopped by any part of His Creation , for It Is Too Powerful . I have said this before , that HaShem's Voice has no echo , for nothing can stop His Voice Waves from penetrating any mass . Thus , HaShem , When He Speaks even long ago , that which He Said , Continues Eternally , for nothing can stand up to His Voice Waves . So , if we listen really closely and truly " Haazinu " - " Give Ear , " we can pick up His Speaking even long ago , as time and space cannot contain Him . So even though our ears are attached to us , we must " Haazinu " - " Give Ear " to HaShem . Give Him our all . Give Him our very connection through hearing that we have , to connect to the Physical World , and make our lives entirely for HaShem's Purpose . One of the reasons that HaShem Made Heaven and Earth , was to be a platform for us to grow from , and be rewarded . So Moshe , before his passing , was renewing that order that HaShem Made to Heaven and Earth at the beginning . Thus it was like a renewal of the Covenant HaShem Made With Heaven and Earth . In the very first verse of Torah , HaShem Created the Heavens and the Earth . So now , just before Moshe is to leave , Moshe reminds the Heavens and the Earth of their role in Creation , since the beginning . For HaShem Created them with His Attribute of Elokim - Justice . So now that Moshe mentions the Heavens and Earth again , shows how here in this Parsha , the Heavens and the Earth are to act as HaShem's Judges and , being witnesses that are to be the first to mete out the punishment , are to thus exact upon man , HaShem's Judgement . So now that Moshe is leaving us , Creation , and our people , are being given an opportunity on our own , to Walk in the Ways of HaShem , and bring about the End of Days if we do what HaShem Wants . The word " Haazinu , " comes to 7 Gematrically , Mashiach's number , so in heeding and " Haazinu " - " Giving Ear " to HaShem , we can bring about Moshiach . This is so linked to the Yom Tov of Succos . Pesach has an even that It represents , like the Exodus from Mitzraim . Shavuos , was also the date that we received the Torah . But Succos , doesn't obviously show a specific happening that we celebrate on this Yom Tov ( Though the Succah does have reference to HaShem's Clouds Of Glory ) . I think the reason for that is that Succos , will come to be for an event , that is still to come . An event , related to Mashiach and the End of Days . To dwell in a Succah , is to be in total trust with HaShem and His Divine Protection , as he gave us His Clouds Of Glory . The Lulav and the Etrog , are all brought together as one when we wave them on Succos , just like the different types of Jews , all coming together as one , just as there will be peace between our people , in Moshiach's time . The Festival of Succot holds a Holiness , we can't imagine . It is a time , to leave our permanent dwelling and live in a Succah in Trust and Faith within the Loving Arms Of HaShem . Just like going back to live within Gan Eiden at the End Of Days . That is how it will be in Moshiach's Time . The Time , when we will truly listen and " Haazinu " - " Give Ear " to HaShem . We can all bring on the End of Days right now , if we would all , just put our own ways and false beliefs aside , and just " Haazinu " - " Give Ear , " and listen to HaShem and do His Will and Commandments Only . HaShem Desires So Much , To Bless us . But it is up to us . The Words of HaShem Are There in the air . The Wish By HaShem , Is There in the air . The Loving Want Of HaShem Is There in the Air , To Be Close to us . All we need to do , is " Haazinu , " - " Give Ear , " to HaShem Only , and follow HaShem With all our hearts and souls . Start right now , and we can all walk into Gan Eiden Again , where the Magnificent Sweetness Of HaShem's Voice That Beautifies the air . " Haazinu " - " Give Ear " to HaShem and HaShem Will Surround And Flower us all With His Love . Parashas Vayeilech Shabbat Shuva : - This post was sponsored by Mark Gaddin . Our Parsha this Shabbos , which is called Shabbos Shuva , being the Shabbos coming before Yom Kippur , is the Shabbos between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur during the Ten Days of Repentance and is Parashas Vayeilech and the Haftorah for this Portion is Hosea 14 : 2 - 10 ; Joel 2 : 11- 37 ; Micah 7 : 18 - 20 . The Haftorah is very suited to this period of the Ten Days , with a subject of Repentance, very much its theme and also, in the Haftorah , is the Shofar that we blow at this time of year in the Jewish Calendar, mentioned in the Haftorah . This Parsha takes place on the last day of Moshe's life. The date is the 7th of Adar 2488 years after Creation .This is the date that Moshe was born and on this date , exactly to the day , minute and second , 120 years later, was to be the day and moment of Moshe's passing . In this Parsha , Moshe has finished his speech to the people that covered most of the book of Devarim , just under 40 days and now HaShem Told Moshe that Behold , his time had come to take leave of the Children of Israel . Thus Moshe says , that he can no longer ' go out and come in , ' not because he was physically unable to , for he says clearly later that his eye was not dimmed and his strength unabated, but he couldn't go out and come in , because HaShem Had Ordered him not to , and he found that his words to the people , were no longer able to be grasped , for he had become spiritually so high that he could no longer explain the Torah depths to the level of the people . The time had come , for the Children of Israel to go over the Jordan , and now , the time had come for Yehoshua Joshua to take over as leader . So on this last day for Moshe , Moshe went from Tribe to Tribe to bid his farewell. He related the battles about Sichon and Og and Moshe summoned Yehoshua and , before the eyes of all Israel , announced his leadership . On that last day , with the Miracles of HaShem , Moshe wrote in one day , 13 Torahs, one for each Tribe and a 13th Torah , which he gave to the Kohanim , the sons of Levi , the bearers of the Ark , to keep for safe-keeping at the side of the Ark of the Covenant , to ensure that there will always be a Torah that will be there so that any other Torah ever written will have Moshe's Torah to stand as HaShem Instructed It to be , word for word , letter for letter and space for space . Moshe commands that at the end of seven years , in the Sabbatical year , during the Succos Yom Tov , that the king of Israel is to read from the Torah and that all are to attend , men , women and even little children and the stranger in our cities . Though the very small children couldn't totally comprehend , as our Rabbi have said , the parents could thus get kavod for bringing the children and fulfilling this Mitzvah . HaShem Summons both Moshe and Joshua and has them stand in the Tent of Meeting and HaShem Appeared in a pillar of cloud and HaShem Tells that after Moshe passes on , the people will stray to idol worship and HaShem Will Conceal His Face From us , not because HaShem Is Wanting To Turn Away From us , but HaShem Is Pained at how we hurt Him and , as our Rabbonim say , HaShem Doesn't Want to Look at the punishment we will get , for HaShem Loves us and does not Want to see us hurting . HaShem Instructs Moshe to write the song of Haazinu ( in the next Parsha ) , to stand as a witness that HaShem Warned us not to stray and what will happen if we do , Chas Ve Shalom , that if any punishments come upon us , it was fore-warned , should we go against HaShem , and that we only have ourselves to blame . For when we do get punished , we as humans tend to ask HaShem Why , without always looking at ourselves . Now the song of Haazinu will stand as a testimony to how we brought it upon ourselves , by our own disobedience .So ends the Parsha . How interesting it is , that this Parsha is called " Vayeilech , " - " Went , " where Moshe went to speak all these words to the people . Usually , a leader of other nations is one to whom people go to him, but not humble Moshe . Moshe cared so much for his people , that even to that last moment of his physical life as Moshe , he was still " Vayeilech , " - " G " out and serve his people . He was a totally unselfish man , even right up to the moments of his last breath . To the truly Righteous , passing on , is not the end , but a continuation of the journey of True Life . Life in reality does not end at death . That is just ( in true reality ) another part of ' True Living . Thus Moshe was continuing " Vayeilech , " - " Going " on his journey toward his path of living in the form of True Spiritual Growing Living . Death is not an end , but simply a part of the journey of True Spiritual Life , to the next stage of Growing . True growing , is growing toward the ' Heart of HaShem and His Will . ' If we look deeply into the word " Vayeilech , " the very same letters can also spell , ' Ki Leiv ' ( where Vav and Vet are interchangeable in one of the ways of Hebrew interpretation ) , which means ' Because of the heart , ' so whose heart is being referred to ? HaShem's Heart and Seat Of Emotions , as well as ours . So where was Moshe " Vayeilech , " - " Going ? " To ' Ki Leiv , ' closer to the Heart and Will of HaShem . So must each step that we make , also be towards the Heart and Will of HaShem's Wish ( not ours ) . Each step we take must be one of growing higher . If we remain Religiously and Spiritually stagnant , without growing holier every day , we haven't truly lived . Moshe , every day , " Vayeilech " - " Went " higher and higher towards HaShem . That is True Life - True Living . So the fact that he was passing on , was not an end to his journey , Chas Ve Shalom , but on the contrary , just a continuation of the journey his neshoma started , at Creation . And now it was time for him to continue on his Spiritual growing path . This is one of the reasons , why he couldn't , as he Moshe put it , ' go out and come in anymore , ' for he had reached as far as he could Spiritually in this present form . So the only way to keep growing , was to pass on to the next level of Growing toward HaShem and HaShem's Will and Heart Wish of Emotion . So is it with those we dearly love and lose . They are also on a continuing journey of Spiritual Climb toward HaShem ( as are us all ) . We know this is true , for so often in Torah are those that are mentioned who are going to pass on , are mentioned as ' The Life of ' or ' Lived , ' as is the case with the Sedra of Sarah passing on , being called " Chayei Sarah , " - " The life of Sarah , " even though she was to die ". The same is for Jacob in the Sedra that talks of his passing , and that Sedra is called " Vayechi , " ( which means ) - " Lived ," even though it was the Sedra of his passing . This is the real way of a righteous person . Even though they are passing away , Torah still refers to it as ' Living ' for that is exactly what it truly is - a continuation of the True Living that started at the beginning of Creation , where all of us are always on a path towards True Spiritual Growth . Our Matriarchs and Patriarchs knew this . That death is not a finality , but a continuation of the Journey of Life . The same is with Moshe . Though his time to " Vayeilech " - " Go " had come , it was not the end for him , but a continuation of his Journey Towards True Life . As HaShem Told Moshe , when Moshe was pleading with HaShem not to have to go , in The Torah , when HaShem Said " It is enough , " this also meant that Moshe had now done enough as Moshe , and it was time to take the next step in Moshe's journey and continue on Growing in his next stage of True Living and do something for himself for a change , where Moshe had spent his whole life caring only for others . What a beautiful Neshoma was our beloved Moshe . So is it the same for every step we each take in this World . Each move we make , is part of the journey . When we " Vayeilech , " - " Go out " from our own personal wishes , and live only to fulfill the Wishes Of HaShem , we too will be headed towards holiness. The operative idea , is to rise above our own self-wanting self fulfilling desires , that are of little worth , and " Vayeilech , " - " Go out " from ourselves , only fulfilling The Wants and Needs Of HaShem , Creation's One and Only True Creator , Who Knows all and Is Totally Selfless . As we approach Yom Kippur , during these Ten Days of Repentance , let us really think about our lives and what will bring it true lasting and eternal value . It is Only HaShem and it is Only HaShem's Torah and Laws , that will put us on the path to holiness. The Path towards HaShem's Will and Emotions of Heart . Every day HaShem Gives us , is never to be wasted . This World is our opportunity to grow . Its tests and challenges are there for us to become more holy .At this time between Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur , we need to really work on ourselves and ask ourselves , ' Are we really Spiritually where we wanted to be this year ? ' For the most part , I would imagine the answer will be ' No . ' Here we are on the threshold of a New Year , just a few days after the True Historical Day of Rosh HaShanah ( The First of Tishrei ) , on which day , HaShem Created people in Creation . Should we not use this period of time to reflect and do sincere Teshuvah and get this World back on track with HaShem 's Will . Most definitely we must . Everything Moshe did , had a reason, not just for us and those around him whom he constantly prayed for , but even for his own growth . There is an opinion , that Moshe was the Gilgul of Noach . We know that for 40 years , while Moshe was leading us b, under HaShem , in the Wilderness , Moshe was forced to continue praying for us and our forgiveness . What was the deeper reason for this , where Moshe is concerned ? We find a deeper answer to this in the actions of Noach . When Noach was told that HaShem Would Send a flood to wipe out the people , Noach did not pray for them , but built the Ark , wanting to strictly obey HaShem's Word . HaShem Tells us in The Torah that the rain was upon the Earth for forty days and forty nights . How interesting , that this number 40 appears here , for Moshe too , had to pray for us and beg HaShem continually for 40 years for us in the Bamidbar - the Wilderness . So was Moshe making up for his action as Noach , by this time having to continually pray for the people . Sounds very deeply possible . Interesting , how Moshe was called Moshe , which means ' Drawn out , ' of the water , where HaShem protected and saved Noach and his family from the flood waters . How interesting it is , that Noach's Ark was called a " Teivah " in Hebrew and the Basket that Moshe was put into , in the Nile was also called a " Teivah . " So every thing that Moshe did and had to do had a deeper reason . HaShem Is So Beyond our capacity and limit to understand and we see only a glimpse of it all . We were told in Parashas Va'eschanan that Moshe pleaded with HaShem 515 times ( the Gematrical value of the word Va'eschanan ) to be let into the land . If we take the year of Moshe's passing , it was the year 2488 . If we take the 515 times that Moshe prayed for himself to be let into the Land of Eretz Yisrael, and times that number by 7 for the number of years in a Sabbaical year , we get the number 3605 . If we add the number 3605 to the number 2488 ( the year of Moshe's passing ) we come to the number 6093 , the date on which Moshiach is due to come and no later . Thus when Moshe was pleading for entry into the land , something else spiritually was going on . Moshe was actually covering us all with his prayers right up until the End of Days . HaShem Is Truly So Deep , that we can't possibly fathom a speck of the full picture . How interesting it is , that also within the word Va'eschanan , are the Hebrew Letters ' Nun ' and Ches , ' which spell " Noach . " Within the word " Va'eschanan , " is the word ' Chanan , ' which means Compassion ' and ' Va ' and ' Et ' means ' And To or Toward So put together , it means ' And toward compassion . ' Thus even though Moshe had prayed so many times and been turned down , HaShem was still doing an action toward compassion , both for Moshe's Spiritual Growth and for us all , in Moshe having then prayed for us till the End of Time . Oh HaShem , How Mighty And Powerful , Wise And Merciful Thou Art . So every " Vayeilech " - " Going " that we do , has a reason in the scheme of things , a reason that we can't possibly understand right now . But every step we take in " Going " is a continuation of our True Life towards HaShem . Whether it is the passing of the soul to the next phase or level , or whether it is Going on with each step of life every day , each step towards HaShem , is a Climb of destiny towards HaShem and the HaShem's Pathway towards the End of Days and the Destination of Creation . So we must have full faith and Emunah in HaShem , for every step we take in the direction of Holiness and Torah , is a step closer to G-D . I wish HaShem with utmost Sweetest Love , a Truly Sweet and Beautiful Shabbos Kodesh With So Much Deep Everlasting Love , and to all my fellow Jews , and to all of Creation , a Very Sweet and Holy Shabbos Kodesh With Love and to my fellow Jews , a Meaningful Fast on Yom Kippur .

Parashas Nitzavim : - Our Parsha this week is Parashas Nitzavim and this Shabbos comes just before Rosh HaShanah . The Haftorah for this Parsha is the last of the Haftorahs of consolation since Tisha B'Av that is from Yeshayahu Isaiah 61:10-63:9. In this Parsha , Moshe's almost 40 days discourse ends and this Parsha takes place on the last day Moshe was with us then . Moshe starts this Parsha by saying , " Atem Nitzavim Hayom Kulchem Lifnei HaShem Elokeichem , " - " You are standing today all of you before HaShem , your G-D ," to renew the covenant made with our Fore-Fathers, just before we are to enter the land and just before Moshe is about to ascend to HaShem and leave us . Moshe refers to us all standing before HaShem , Heads of the Tribes , Our Elders , Our Officers , Our Small Children , Our Women and the Proselyte , from the Hewer of Wood to the Drawer of Water ( these were the K'na'anim who had requested from Moshe to convert , but Moshe suspected their motives as they claimed to be from a far off people and because Moshe was aware that they were not sincere in coming to Judaism , he allowed them to remain as hewers of stone and water drawers for the Tabernacle ) , were all brought into the renewed covenant with HaShem . Included in this were all Jews past , present and Jews to still be born in future generations - all were standing there that day . Moshe referred next, to those who may be standing there and not have their heart genuinely with HaShem , but may be considering idol worship . HaShem Here Refers , through Moshe , to a time when we would be exiled and , when that time comes , we must know that HaShem Warned us not to follow idols . Moshe refers to the Blessings and Curses , and when we are being punished , to take it to heart , and if we repent sincerely , HaShem Will Forgive us and bring us back from exile , wherever we have been scattered , and HaShem Will Punish our enemies who mistreated us through those times of Galus , and we will return to HaShem and follow all His Commandments and His Decrees in the Book of the Torah , and HaShem Will Bless us , when we return to Him with all our heart and soul . HaShem Through Moshe Tells us , that The Torah is always available and reachable . HaShem Foresees that there will be times when some of us will lessen on the Laws and make out they are not to be kept anymore and they will try to change them and lessen on them , so HaShem Prophetically Reminds us , that the Torah is not Distant , but very near us , within our heart and soul , so we must follow it , at all times , through all generations , and never change in any way , never lessen in any way , or reform in any way , all the Laws HaShem Gives . They are to remain the same through all time and must never be lessened or changed in any way . There will be those who might say that the Torah is too hard to keep , so HaShem Says , " It is not in Heaven so we would need to say who will have to ascend to Heaven to take it for us , so we can listen to it and perform it , " for The Torah is very near us and easily accessible , and comes down to us from Shamaim from HaShem , as HaShem Already Brought it down to us on Har Sinai , so we can keep it , though even if it were still only in Heaven , we would be obligated to climb high to reach it and acquire it , just as Moshe had to do , when he went up the Mountain to win against the Angels attempts to prevent him bringing it down to us. HaShem Put The Torah directly in front of us, so we can follow and keep It All . HaShem Through Moshe Tells us , that it is not across the Sea , that we should say who will go to the other side of the sea to take it for us so that we may listen to it and perform it ," although if it was , it would be our obligation to travel anywhere to attain it and keep it . The Torah is not across the sea , which refers also to that HaShem's Laws are not found in the beliefs of the other nations . HaShem's Laws are only within HaShem's Torah Gift that HaShem Gave to us . And so we must listen to it and perform it . For HaShem Says " Rather , the matter is very near to you - in your mouth and your heart - to perform it . " HaShem's Torah is within us to keep It always . It is interesting that the letters in the words in Hebrew for " in your mouth and your heart ," - " B'ficha U'vilvavcha ," number ten letters , like the Ten Commandments and the Ten Pronouncements that HaShem Uttered to Create Creation . Thus , in keeping HaShem's Word and Commandments in our mouth and heart and fulfilling the Commandments to do them , we are fulfilling the Ten Commandments and most importantly , fulfilling HaShem's Wish for Creation . The word " La'asoto , " - " To perform it , " ( the Torah and Commandments of HaShem ) that comes after " in your mouth and in your heart , " Teaches us that HaShem Doesn't Just Want us to keep it in our mouth and heart , but It must fulfill It's Purpose , by us " La'asoto , " - " Performing it , " and thus become the Torah , in doing all the Laws . HaShem Again Reminds us that we have a choice to follow Him and be Blessed , or to stray , Chas Ve Shalom , and be punished. . HaShem Calls Heaven and Earth , as the two witnesses needed for seeing that we keep the Laws , for as we know the witnesses must be the first to punish the perpetrator , and this means that if we disobey , then the Earth will be called upon to punish us , through withholding the goodness that HaShem Has Blessed the Earth to give us , and so we will be brought to account by HaShem , through the Earth , in the form of the physical things on the Earth , that HaShem Gave To the Earth , being withheld , and the Heaven and its host of Malachim and other entities , From HaShem , will be called upon to bring us punishment from HaShem , but if we hearken to The Voice Of HaShem Our G-D , the Earth will be Blessed By HaShem Who Will Bless us abundantly through the Earth from HaShem and the Heaven From HaShem , will open itself to us for a sweet and peaceful holy stay in Shamayim , if we only love HaShem and listen to HaShem's Voice and cleave to HaShem , Who " Is your ( our ) life and the length of your ( our ) days , to dwell upon the land that HaShem Swore To your ( our ) Fore-Fathers , to Avraham , to Yitzchak and to Yaakov , To Give To them . " So ends the Parsha . We note how in this Parsha , Moshe refers to us all standing together even as single units together , and so , our Rabbis tell us that this verse is phrased this way , so as to institute a common responsibility from now on , that the actions of one Jew , will now affect the rest of our nation , that if one Jew sins , it will affect the punishment of other Jews , for we are now all standing together as one . Thus , if one Jew lessens on Torah Mitzvos , it will affect other Jews , even far away . All Jews from this point on , now have a common ' Aravus ' - ' Responsibility , ' for their fellow Jew . Thus a Jew can't say , that he or she will lessen on the Laws and that it won't affect other Jews , because it will . It is like the example of five men on a boat and if one man says that he will drill a hole under his own seat and that it won't affect the other four , how wrong he is , for he will cause his other peers to drown . The same works the other way , that if Jews Daven together in Minyonim , we thus stand as a collective and so HaShem Judges us all as a whole and the merits of our fellow Jews can also lift us up and help us .This is one of the reasons why we should Daven in a Minyan , for HaShem Scrutinizes more closely , the sins of the individual , unlike would be , if the individual , would stand together with his or her peers . The same is with the four Species in the Lulav and Etrog on Succos , where each represents a different level of Jews , but when brought together , become one and they uplift each other . This is a good thing to remember at this time of year , as we are about to celebrate Rosh HaShanah , the day , in Creation, that HaShem Created Adam Ve Chavah , and so , it is at this particular time , that HaShem Feels Especially Close to us and Comes Down Closer To us, at this period of time . This is a very specific time , where we all " Nitzavim " - " Stand ," as a collective and individual , before HaShem For Judgement . So it is so important , to go to Shul on this day and every day , for if we stand with our peers , HaShem Looks at us as a collective and Sees our love and Wish collectively , to be close to Him . I am not saying that this period of time should be the only time that Jews should go to Shul , as that is not right . Jews should go to Shul every Shabbos and Jewish males every day three times a day in Shul ( where Jewish Males are Halachically obligated to time bound Mitzvos Kiddushin 29a ' Mitzvos Aseh Shehazeman Gerama ' - ' All Positive Time Bound Mitzvos , ' where women are not obligated to Time Bound Positive Mitzvos ) . A Jew " Nitzavim " " Stands " at all times before HaShem , in the light and in the dark , at Rosh HaShanah and Yom Kippur and also at every moment and day during the rest of the year . But this is a special time where HaShem Scrutinizes His Creation more fervently . But we , must make an effort at all times to attend Holy full Torah Following Shuls and at all times , must we " Nitzavim " - " Stand " up and follow HaShem's Torah Laws . We must Stand up as a nation of Torah and take hold of HaShem's Link ( Torah ) to lead us to Him . We note that in this Parsha the word " Nitzavim , " for " Standing " is used . Standing is usually ' Omeid ' in Hebrew , though the word ' Natzeiv ' also means ' Standing ,' but the word " Natzeiv " suggests a more upright kind of Erect " Standing . " So why the need for this more erect kind of " Standing " in this context . Taking the word " zavim , " and looking within it , one comes to two separate words ,' Natziv ,' and Tzava , which according to the Shimon Silberman Milon Dictionary , ' Natziv ' means ' to Stand erect and one commissioned and ' Tzava ' means ' Assemble , ' thus how must we stand before HaShem . Straight and Erect with respect , ready to be commissioned by HaShem as His Representative , to do His Holy Laws and Bidding and Bring HaShem's Essence into every moment .But how can we possibly Stand before HaShem in an Erect way , and still respect and Honor Him . This erect way to stand before HaShem , is not in reference to a physical arrogant way of standing , Chas Ve Shalom . It is to be a Spiritually Holy and Righteous Erect way of presenting ourselves , before our Creator , as commissioned and representing HaShem within Creation , always standing before HaShem with humility . We are at every moment , " Nitzavim " - " Standing " before HaShem and so , must at all times Follow His Mitzvos and His Holy Ways Thus must we emulate HaShem's Ways and so , by doing that within Creation , we will make Creation a place where HaShem Will Dwell Among us .So how can we " Nitzavim , " - " Stand " before HaShem ? By scrutinizing our every action and making all we do , holy , so we can make ourselves Worthy to Stand before HaShem in love . And how do we bring this World to its intended result in Creation . By " Nitzavim , " - " Standing " as the Parsha says " Kulchem " - " All of us , " together , all serving HaShem Together as one in Peace and Harmony . And when must we stand before HaShem . The Parsha says , " Hayom " - " Today " And when is " Hayom " - " Today . " Every day , every minute of every hour , for every moment is within the day and every day is , at that present moment " Hayom " - " Today . " At all times , we are " Nitzavim " - " Standing , " before HaShem . And so must we make ourselves always ready to Stand Before HaShem , by being Holy and Faithful to HaShem and His Torah Mitzvos . And if we do and are totally Faithful to HaShem , and follow All His Commandments , HaShem Will Come and Stand Before us For Closeness and Love and Creation will then be filled with the Light and Love of HaShem . I wish HaShem With Sweet Love Always , A Beautiful Sweet Shabbos Kodesh and Shanah Tovah With Deepest Love Always , and to all my fellow Jews and Creation , a Beautiful Sweet Shabbos Kodesh with love and a Kesiva Ve Chasima Tova , Shanah Tovah and a Sweet New Year with love .
