Parashas Tetzaveh

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Tetzaveh where HaShem tells Moshe to tell the Children of Israel to take pure pressed olive oil to kindle the lamp continually. Then HaShem Commands the beautiful Holy Garments of the High Priest and Priests - The Holy Kohanim , to be made.
If we look at the word 'Tetzaveh,' it has,as its root, the word 'Tzav,' -'Command.' The additions of letters around the word can also give it a 'future tense,' connotation.HaShem's Command here is not just for then but through all generations where purity like the pure pressed olive oil ,must be the way of the Jew.The beautiful Garments of the High Priest and Priests - The Kohen Gadol and Kohanim - need to also stand , as a way in which we , as Jewish people dress and behave.
HaShem Commanded us to be a 'Kingdom of Priests and a Holy Nation' being always modest and pure in how we behave and how we appear to the outside world. At every moment we are given to breathe,we represent HaShem. The way in which we behave and how we display ourselves in Tznius purity and modesty ,reflects on HaShem. HaShem is totally Pure and More and HaShem wants us to represent Him here and be a Holy people through which the light of HaShem can shine outwards to the rest of Creation.HaShem Commands Moshe that we are to light the light ,not just then but also now, where we are to light the light in our souls and fill it with HaShem's Essence , so that it can light everything around us.
But to do this,we need to be a pure people so that we can contain HaShem's Light of Holiness within us.We need to be the living being of HaShem's Commandments, always following HaShem and always keeping HaShem's Torah with love.
No matter what those around us do that are immodest,we are to keep ourselves pure. The physical may offer temptations but those temptations are not real.Only HaShem is Real.To do what HaShem asks is to be a vessel of Holiness and Purity.
When we do as HaShem wants and behave with purity,we literally live within HaShem's Word and become that word to all around us.
When looking around at the world that surrounds us,instead of being upset about the negativity that is there, it is better to remember and to rather take up the task which HaShem ordained of us and see where one can change things for the good.Where can a little light be brought in.Instead of putting people down, let us rather be a help to HaShem by fixing the negativity and doing what one can to make this a better world. There is always something one can do and it is for that very reason that HaShem puts us in certain situations ,so that we can bring HaShem's light into this world. But first we need to start with how we openly appear to the world and how we behave. It starts with correcting ourselves. If we dress in Holiness,we will promote Holiness. If we act and behave in a Holy Pure way, then people will be more ready to listen.
It is up to us.It has always been up to us.So let us take a lesson from the beautiful Purity and Holiness of the garments of the Kohanim and be,to all around us ,pure carriers of light, pure as the pure pressed olive oil that lit the Holy Light Of HaShem in The Holy Place.
With love,HaShem I wish You a Beautiful Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all, a beautiful Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love.

Parshas Terumah

This Shabbos is Parshas Terumah where HaShem instructs Moshe that we should all contribute a 'Terumah,' a 'Portion,' to the building of the Sanctuary so that we can make a place where HaShem can dwell among us.HaShem instructs that our heart must be what motivates us to give.It is within each one of our hearts , where HaShem desires to dwell.Today is also Rosh Chodesh Adar where we come toward Purim and remember that HaShem saved us from our enemy.
It is interesting that HaShem asks us each to contribute a 'Terumah,' a 'Portion,' toward the Sanctuary and what is inside it.
HaShem does not ask it of only one of us, but that we each contribute a portion toward It and that the giving should come from our heart, the seat of our feelings where HaShem wants to rest His Kindness and Goodness. We are not alone. We are part of a whole and only when we gather together as one nation , can we truly welcome HaShem. It needs a 'Terumah,' a 'Portion,' from each one of us to welcome HaShem and make a Place for HaShem to dwell. We are all needed.None of us are more important than the other. We each have our own personal role to play in the scheme of things.Arrogance holds off HaShem from this world.Only through common bonds and working together in peace and harmony and humility, can we bring HaShem back down to this world and have HaShem dwell among us.Those who reach higher positions in this world ,only have those positions because HaShem gives it to them and deems it so.They are not in those positions to put down others but to be a help to those that need it.Without those they can help, they too would not need to be in those positions. So HaShem wants us all to work together to make this world a place of peace and harmony and only then, can HaShem dwell among us all.We need to 'Gather Together,' and become a 'unit,' in serving HaShem Only and then the End of Days can start. In Bereishis 49:1 Yaakov tells his sons to gather together so he can tell them of the End of Days. Thus only when we gather together,in peace and harmony, can we welcome the End of Days.
Each of us are of equal value and when one of us is in need, then we are obligated to help.We cannot turn our backs and say,'Let me only worry about myself (Chas Ve Shalom).'' That was how it was in Sodom. That is not how HaShem wants it to be.HaShem is One and so are we to be one.
We may not always realize it but each one of us, is only a portion and not the be all and end all of what must be.We are not perfect and need others to help us better ourselves. We cannot do it alone.
The same is with a husband and wife.Only when they are married,do they become a whole.HaShem calls a wife a 'Help-Mate' as man and woman need each other to correct themselves. It is in the mirror of another person that we can see our own faults and correct them, bettering ourselves and climbing spiritually,to HaShem.
So HaShem wants us to give from the heart. Not because HaShem would tell us,but because our heart should motivate us to give.An action starts with a thought and as HaShem's thoughts bring on Angels,so will our holy thoughts bring Malachim to help us get better. If a good action we do is motivated with a good positive thought and true heartfelt emotion to do good, then the Malach we bring on by our action, will carry that thought to Shamaim. If we all work together to do good, then all our actions together, can literally carry HaShem's Shechinah to live among us and so, all things around us , will be Blessed.
The word 'Tzeddakah,' which means "Charity',also means 'Righteousness', and it can lift this world and all that is in it,to heights beyond our imagination. The very Creation of this world by HaShem, was a Tzeddakah ,an action of HaShem's Charity and Righteousness as HaShem gave each one of us a world. When we Bless the things in this world,we raise the physical back to G-D and also take possession of that which we Bless ,for all belongs to HaShem.Nothing is ours. All we Bless and everything we give,is from HaShem. So when we can all realize that all is from HaShem ,HaShem will bring this world to a state of purity and the essence of HaShem will be seen in all things. But first we need to give our portion, our heart to HaShem and those around us that HaShem Created. We need to give ourselves as Tzeddakah to HaShem's Creation.
When we forget HaShem (Chas Ve Shalom ) we are reminded by negative things in the world. As we approach Purim we remember how HaShem saved us when our people came together and returned to HaShem.Today is Rosh Chodesh Adar that approaches Purim where we ,as a people came together with Esther and Mordechai to fast and renew our faith in G-D . When we became one nation under HaShem,HaShem saved us.
On Purim,we are to assemble together to hear the Megillah reading. Here again is the idea of us coming together to be one under HaShem - each of us bringing ourselves as a part portion of the whole ,to make a whole as one nation , under HaShem.
This is what HaShem wants of us and what HaShem waits for. For us to remember HaShem and to be as one.
Our Parshah of Terumah ,where each of us was asked to take a portion with our heart,is the secret to the End Of Days for when we come together and become a whole ,a 'unit' of One, under HaShem, keeping HaShem's Laws,HaShem will bring on the End Of Days and the Holy Third Temple that we await, will be in our midst and HaShem will dwell sweetly among us.
I wish HaShem with Love a Beautiful Holy Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov with Love and to all , a beautiful Holy Shabbos Kodesh and Chodesh Tov with love.

Parashas Mishpatim

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parashas Mishpatim and includes many Laws that HaShem gave to Moshe for us to follow.
We have just received the Ten Commandments and now, Moshe relates the detailed Laws of HaShem ,to our people.
The word. 'Mishpatim' means 'Ordinances,' which are strict Laws to live by that will be overseen by our Sanhedrin, who will ensure that the Laws are kept truthfully.Within the word 'Mishpatim' is the word 'Shofet' which means 'Judge,'. So these are Laws to be Judged by ,that will come with Judgement ,should they not be kept.We are in front of HaShem, the True Judge, all the time who weighs our deeds and hopefully gives mercy to our actions. But HaShem wants us,by living by His Laws and Morals,to be a Judge unto ourselves, not just judging others and looking outwards, but mostly looking within ourselves ,to where we can correct ourselves .We must always watch our actions and behaviour, whether we are alone or among others. The best representatives we can be for HaShem ,is to set a morally pure example ,so we can show to others how to be and so,,lead others to HaShem through our own example.
The word 'Mishpatim,' is in the plural to show. ,not just that many Laws are in this Parshah, but also to remind us to not just judge those around us but also ourselves at every minute we breathe, constantly trying to better ourselves ,as best we can.
We are human, prone to the temptation of the Yetzer Harah, which constantly tries to pull us away.It tries in many ways to lead us astray. So HaShem took care of that,by protecting us from it ,in the form of governing our lives with Laws that watch over us in every instantt ,so that we can overcome every attempt of the Yetzer Harah.
When HaShem Created this world, our Rabbis tell us that HaShem Created this world with pure Justice and HaShem's attribute of 'Judgement' - 'Elokim,' and ,because HaShem knew that we ,being human, couldn't make it with pure Judgement alone,,added His attribute of mercy - 'A-nai,' so that this world could continue ,for without mercy we would not survive ,as we are but human, constantly making mistakes. This same mercy,we need to display to others when they show true repentance for wronging us,as long as they show they have changed their ways.We too, when we wrong HaShem, must not just feel sorry but also show we are sorry,by changing our ways and fixing the wrong we did. HaShem loves Teshuvah for , in doing Teshuvah,we return to HaShem and get close to HaShem. But we are not to rely on taking for granted,HaShem's mercy. We need to follow the Laws HaShem gave us,for that is where the true path is,when returning to HaShem .
HaShem gave us many Laws , so this means that HaShem needs to keep very busy , seeing to it that we keep these Laws , by watching over each and every person HaShem makes. This shows a great deal of Love from HaShem , as HaShem is constantly caring for us and trying to correct us , making sure we are keeping His Laws . So we need to remember that HaShem keeps His eyes on us all the time and we also need to show HaShem how much we love Him by following HaShem's precious Torah.
In our Parsha,HaShem gave the first Law in Mishpatim as being about a Jewish bondsman. Why would HaShem start off this Chapter (after giving to us the Ten Commandments at Mount Sinai) , with the subject of a Jewish bondsman who works for a Jew for six years and should be set free in the seventh year.?Why is this the first Mishpat (Ordinance) mentioned here?
HaShem wants to remind us that we are HaShem's and that we do not belong to any man or woman ,for we only belong to HaShem. And so,HaShem Creates a limit of 6 years and then, the bondsman will go free in the seventh year. This is like the Commandment from HaShem,to work six days and rest on Shabbos, also reminding us that HaShem Created the world and it is on Shabbos, the seventh day that we are to rest. Thus HaShem is reminding us that we are all under HaShem and all things around us are from HaShem. We are not tied to man.We are only under G-D.To remember that,is to remember Whose world this is - The world of HaShem and that we are to keep the instruction and the Law of G-D,Whose world this is,acting only as HaShem needs us to act.At any given moment,Laws come up that need to be kept and when they do,we are again reminded that this is HaShem's world and we are only sojourners here. The Mishpatim remind us of this.
It was once discussed what is the most important Law to keep.It was decided that every Law is important and each Law gains its importance at the very time ,that Law comes up to be kept and done.So at all times,we are reminded that this is HaShem's world and all things we are given, are a gift from HaShem to us to use for our benefit.HaShem is constantly giving us gifts of love and when we make a Blessing on partaking of something,we are also asking HaShem's permission to partake of that which is His and acknowledging that all is from HaShem.
This is what the Laws and Ordinances - 'Mishpatim' are also about,,to engage us at all times with HaShem and to remember at all times that all is HaShem's and so,we get closer to HaShem with each Mishpat we keep.
So let our Holy Torah become a part of every Jew and may we come to follow The Torah of light ,keeping the Mishpatim as we continue to draw closer to HaShem in faithfulness .
With love to HaShem,I wish HaShem with love,a Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all,a Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love.

Parashas Yisro

Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parshas Yisro. Here,Yisro,Moshe's Father - in - Law comes to Moshe and Moshe tells Yisro of all the beautiful miracles HaShem did for us.Yisro becomes a Ger,a Jew for he realizes the preciousness that HaShem has for His people. This is the Parsha that contains the beautiful meeting that HaShem waited for since before Creation,to meet with His People. It is here at Mount Sinai,a humble mountain not bigger than others, where The Ten Commandments are given. Here where we learn that it is through humility (like the unimposing Mountain of Sinai ) that we can reach HaShem. It is here that we come and meet our Creator Who speaks to each and every Jew that was a Jew then ,that is a Jew now ,that was a Jew before and is still to be a Jew into the future and every true Convert that will come to Yiddishkeit , where all would hear the Voice of HaShem speaking .Our souls all heard His voice .When HaShem Spoke, the entire world was totally silent as HaShem gave His Holy Torah to His Holy people. The world was silent. Not even an echo of HaShem's Voice was heard, as ours would be heard , with an echo ,for HaShem's voice does not have an echo as His voice is not stopped by any physical surface but penetrates all things to the end of time.
This Parsha was chosen to be called Yisro for HaShem surely respects the true holy convert who chooses to put false beliefs behind them and embrace the True One And Only G-D,HaShem, HaKadosh Baruch Hu.
HaShem so values the true Ger who embraces the full Torah to keep all Its Laws as our holy Rabbis teach today.
So beloved to HaShem is the Jewish Convert to Yiddishkeit. So must a born Jew be Holy and keep the Torah as well.
Yisro had been a priest of Midian and had tried all religions but found them untrue. Now,Yisro was a Jew following G-D and His Torah.Yisro had been pushed aside in his community when he found HaShem. But he stood fast to the truth that he knew.It was for this reason that his daughters remained unmarried when Moshe met Tzipporah. This shows us that we need to always stand by the truth of HaShem,no matter what the cost.
The true Convert is the one who embraces HaShem faithfully and follows the whole Torah as Moshe Rabbeinu gave it to us.The true Convert embraces our Holy Shabbos and Kashrut Laws and all the Laws that HaShem gave the Jew.The true Convert chooses HaShem as Avraham chose HaShem and embraces the Yomim Tovim and all Laws that a Jew must follow. The true Convert who approaches a Beis Din and goes through the full process of what it is to be a true Jew,following all the Laws, becomes part of HaShem's Jewish people,The final step of true conversion is when the convert goes to a Mikvah and feels the Holiness of HaShem alight on them as the angel Rafael comes to Bless them from HaShem. It is at this stage that the Convert gets a special Jewish soul to alight on them. They are now a true Jew.
Yisro who became one of our Yidden, embraced HaShem and so, HaShem totally embraced him.Yisro will always be remembered when we read this Parsha of Yisro as we stand up in Shul and hear the Ten Commandments read out from our Holy Torah.Let us,this Shabbos ,honor the holy Gairim who went through the full Beth Din Conversion to become a holy Jew.It was not easy for them and so,let us keep them in mind and bless them for the choice they made to come to HaShem.
May all who are born Jewish come to realize the truly special gift that HaShem bestowed on the Jew and follow HaShem wholeheartedly the way Torah tells us and appreciate HaShem every day and think about the special Convert to Yiddishkeit who had to go through a hard process to become a true Jew.Let us never take any gift for granted.Thank you HaShem for making me a Jew.
As we read our Holy Ten Commandments let us remember that as 10 is 1+0= 1 ,let these Ten Commandments lead us to the One And Only G-D , HaShem. As a Jew,we keep the 613 Commandments in our Holy Torah. 6+1+3 = 10 which also comes to One G-D , HaShem .The whole entire Torah needs to be kept to reach HaShem .Let us never change or ease up on one single Law Chas Ve Shalom for each and every Law is to be kept to reach HaShem .
As the Hebrew word 'Yoter' (meaning 'More') , is within Yisro's name , so must we do more everyday for HaShem and all living things.
With love to HaShem,I wish HaShem with love, a Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love and to all,a Holy Shabbos Kodesh with love.
