Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parshas Beshalach and starts by telling us that when Par'o sent the Children of Israel from Egypt,that HaShem did not lead them by the way of the Philistines and the Torah says,'because it was near.' - 'Ki Karov Hu.'
What does the Torah mean to tell us here when it says it was near?
HaShem knew that the Philistines would attack Israel and so,to prevent Israel from fear of this onslaught and Chas Ve Shalom returning to Egypt,HaShem led them away from there.But what might the Children of Israel fear?Thirty years before the Exodus was to happen,some of the tribe of Efrayim tried to leave Egypt and 300 000 of them were slain by the Pelishtim (Philistines) and their bones left openly strewn on the Philistine roads.If the Children of Israel would have seen this,they would have feared and possibly returned to Egypt so HaShem led them away from this area.But this still doesn't answer why HaShem said,'the time is 'near' - Ki Karov Hu.'
Long before this,Avraham had made an agreement with Abimelech of the Philistines that neither them nor their descendants would cross over toward each other for three generations and Abimelech's grandchildren were still alive.This is why,HaShem said it is still 'near' -'close,as this agreement was still in force and the time for either Israel or the Pelishtim to come near each other was still too close to having been made as the terms were still in force.
This leads us to realize that every little thing we do ,we must be very careful to think it through as small actions can have very large results.We remember that after this agreement Avraham made,HaShem tested Avraham and Yitzchak with the Akeidah.We may not see that our actions will lead to the things they can lead to and this is why we need to keep our attention on what is around us and what we do and how we act ,in each moment HaShem gives us.With every breath HaShem Blesses us with.
We have all , at some time thought back and regretted things we did and choices we made,wishing we could go back and change them.But we can't.So we need to learn that before we act,we think carefully about the repercussions of everything we do.
The Children of Israel were led toward the Yam Suf , where the beautiful miracle of HaShem took place and the Sea split into twelve parts allowing each tribe of Israel to walk through it on dry land.Par'o had sent spies along to see if the people will return after the three days he was told they needed, to make offerings to HaShem .HaShem in His Wisdom cleverly had the people turn slightly back at Baal-Zephon.This was an idol of baal and when the spies reported to Par'o that they had slightly turned back,Par'o thought it was because of the idol that they were afraid Chas Ve Shalom and so,came with his chariots toward Israel.But HaShem was bringing Egypt's finest chariots to their punishment.It is interesting that Par'o's final lesson took place at the sea,for it was Par'o himself who told the Egyptians that he was a deity and created the Nile.Now the Egyptians finally saw that Par'o was nothing but a man and that HaShem was the Creator of all things.This was his final lesson to finally bow before and acknowledge the True One And Only HaShem.
This again also shows that the actions of a man can bring about his own downfall later in life.
So what is the correct way to follow?The only true and safe way of HaShem Who knows all and knows the future of all actions.It is only HaShem Who we can truly trust ,to get us where we need to go.It starts with us doing what HaShem tells us to do in His Holy Torah.HaShem gave us His Torah to be a pathway through the darkness of this world,lighting up our way and leading us toward the light of HaShem The Only True and Positive Light.
Start this Shabbos by opening up this Holy Torah and following in it's light and true sweet path to HaShem and know that the choices made will always be toward the Light-toward HaShem.Take HaShem's Hand and let HaShem lead you toward Him forever more.

Parashas Bo
Our Parsha this Shabbos is Parshas Bo,where HaShem asks Moses to 'come' to Pharoah and HaShem multiplies the suffering of Egypt for what they did to us.
It is interesting that HaShem tells Moshe to 'come' to Pharoah,instead of 'go' to Pharoah.That would be the usual command.The word 'come' is usually used in reference to one 'coming' toward another,not going out to another,yet HaShem tells Moshe to 'come' to Pharoah.
Pharoah and all of Egypt was on a much lower spiritual level than The Children of Israel. The very word 'Mitzrayim'-'Egypt,' meant 'borders.' A place where people could not just leave-a place that was filled with the lowest 'Tum'a,' - 'Impurity,' at that time.
For Moshe to have to go and communicate with Pharoah,he would have had to come down from his higher spiritual level to where Pharoah was spiritually to communicate with him.That is , spiritually, what one who is higher needs to do,when mixing with others who are not as holy. That is why it is so important to be with people who are good and moral and spiritually climbing.But Moshe,was so holy that he was not in anyway tainted by the impurity of the Egyptians and Pharoah.So,even though he was going to 'go' to Pharoah,he wasn't 'going' down spiritually.He was , in fact climbing higher ,'coming' further away from the unholiness of these Egyptians and thus,HaShem tells us that Moshe 'Bo' - 'came,' and remained at a higher spiritual level and did not go down spiritually.This is the way of a holy person.No matter what is around them,they remain untouched by the impurity that surrounds them and ,in fact climb higher,in doing HaShem's will. They therefore end up 'coming' closer to HaShem.This is actually hidden in the Hebrew of our verse,for it says,'Vayomer HaShem El Moshe Bo El Par'o,' -' HaShem said to Moshe 'Come To Par'o,' and if we look closer, it is also saying, 'HaShem said to Moshe ,'Come' ( in other words come to me ) - even though it is toward Par'o that Moshe is to come to,HaShem says 'Come to Me.') .The word 'El' - 'To' has the same root letters as HaShem's Name 'Eil,' so taking this into account,the verse hints at HaShem saying, 'HaShem said to Moshe,Come - 'Eil' - to HaShem .
This is what happens when we do good and when we do HaShem's Commandments.We climb higher,coming toward HaShem all the time.The very Mitzvot are beautiful steps that we can climb ,as Yaakov's dream of the ladder showed, to go higher and higher toward HaShem. Adam Ve Chava were chased out of Gan Eiden,a Holy place on a Higher spiritual level,to come down here spiritually .But HaShem in His Beautiful Mercy,gave us beautiful Mitzvot that allow us to climb back up again toward HaShem. Each time we follow Torah and do a Mitzvah we are 'coming' closer to G-D . This is what Moses did.Even though he was in a place of impurity,it never touched him but rather he grew higher and came closer to HaShem .
The very act of doing a Mitzvah is a shield against negativity .Imagine 613 Mitzvot and what they could do for us. Each moment in this world,is an opportunity to climb and come to HaShem . It may not always be so obviously shown in each moment we live, but if we look closer and deeper into each breath that HaShem gives us, we will realize that each wish of HaShem is a step toward 'Bo' - a step that allows us to 'Come' closer to HaShem . Don't ever waste a single opportunity to do a Mitzvah . Each Mitzvah has been carefully chosen and designed by HaShem to bring us closer and closer to HaShem .The Torah is the path to 'Bo,' - 'Come' to HaShem . May we all feel this beautiful special closeness that HaShem has given each of us to 'Bo' - 'Come' close to HaShem .
Remember that HaShem is our beautiful 'Father,' our 'Av,' that made us all so when we 'Bo,' - 'Come,'. To HaShem,we are returning to our 'Av,' - our ''Father' HaShem .The word -'Bo' has a 'Bet' and and ''Alef' Hebrew letters.The same Hebrew letters that spell 'Av.' - 'Which means 'Father,' So ,let each breath that we breathe take us closer with each Mitzvah that we do to be able to 'Bo' - 'Come closer to HaShem our beautiful 'Av.'
May we all 'Bo' - 'Come ' closer to HaShem in Holiness.

Parashas Va'ERirah
Our Parsha this Shabbos is 'Va-Eirah,' where HaShem tells Moshe that He appeared to our Forefathers with His Name as the 'Almighty,' but now,HaShem is appearing as 'HaShem,' His attribute of mercy and will come and save our people the Children of Israel.
Moshe had questioned HaShem's mercy for His people and now,HaShem introduced mercy for Israel,in taking us out with physical miracles.This is how it will be at the End Of Days.HaShem will fill the physical world with the light of His Presence.
The word that is the name of our Parsha this week is 'Va'Eirah,' which means 'Appeared.'Within the word 'Va Eirah,' is the word 'Yarei,' which means 'feared.'We cannot picture HaShem's Awesomeness.So how can HaShem appear to us if we cannot see Him?How did our Forefathers see HaShem?The Torah states that HaShem 'Appeared' to them.What made them Holy enough to be Blessed with HaShem appearing to them?
The higher spiritually we climb in obedience to HaShem's Will,the more we raise ourselves above this physical world around us and are able to look deeper beyond it.The deeper we can look,the more we see things for the spiritual beauty that these things really are and the more of HaShem's Beautiful Truth becomes revealed.The. More we climb,the more we are on a level to perceive more of HaShem's Essence and the more HaShem , appears to us.HaShem has hidden His truths among His Laws and Ways of morality and when we act moral and keep His Laws,we release some of that light that is within the physicality and thus,reveal more of HaShem,in Creation.So,the more we keep HaShem's Laws and the better we treat eachother,the more HaShem ,Who is always there,Is revealed.The more HaShem 'Va'Eirah,' - ' Appears.' HaShem is all around us.HaShem never left us.It is us that creates the veil that keeps us from seeing.HaShem's Essence .HaShem wishes to 'Va'Eirah' -'Appear,' to us,but we are not worthy to see into The Holiness that is HaShem's Essence.HaShem is with us all the time.
But what is this step that we need to take so that HaShem can 'Va'Eirah,' - 'Appear,' to us?The answer to this question is within the word 'Va'Eirah.' It is the concept of 'Yarei,' - 'Fear,' of HaShem.Our Forefathers feared HaShem and so warranted,to be able to see more than we see.But how can one fear That which one cannot see?This is where Love and Truth comes in.Just for a small moment contemplate the Mighty Awesomeness of HaShem,the Absolute Creation that surrounds us.And all through this,HaShem still takes time to give each of us our own little world to live within.Is this not love?Is this not something to be completely amazed by.Yes it is.It is a fear of absolute love.Not a fear of HaShem coming physically to fight with us.HaShem stays hidden,due to our actions.But HaShem allows us to realize that this world and Universe never came about on its own.The absolute awesomeness of it all is to be feared.It is through our faithful love in the world we are each given to live within,that should show us HaShem's Beautiful love.We are so small yet in HaShem's eyes we are so important,Each one of us is part of what HaShem Created.HaShem knows the very Creation of the word 'know' and all that it includes.How can we not fear the very Awesomeness of HaShem's love as our Forefathers did.It was this fear that allowed them to have HaShem ,'Va'Eirah,' - 'Appear,' to them.It is this fear and acknowledgement of what HaShem wants us to do,that brings on the beautiful 'Va'Eirah,'-'Appearance,' that HaShem would make with us for following HaShem in true faith and. Emet' and. will lead our Neshomas on a path of HaShem's Appearance.
HaShem is all around us and within the very life of each breath that we take.Let us use each breath wisely,as our Forefathers did and bring our Neshomas to meet HaShem and witness the beautiful beauty of HaShem's 'Va-Eirah,'-'Apppearance,' to us.

Parshas Shemos
Our Pasha this Shabbos is Parshas Shemos and starts the Second Book of HaShem of Moses in the Torah.
The word 'Shemos,' means 'Names.'This sounds like a strange name for such an important book.As with all things in the Torah there are deeper reasons.
The verse goes,'Ve' Eileh Shemos B'nei Yisrael Haba'i'm Mitzraima Eit Yaakov Ish Uveito Ba'u ,' - ' And These Are The Names Of The Children Of Israel Who Were Coming To Egypt With Jacob,Each Man And His Household Came.' The Torah here enumerates the tribes that came into Egypt.Now the Jews were in Egypt for a long time and the story of our slavery and freedom began by the Hand of HaShem,through Moshe our leader and teacher.
This first verse can have a deeper meaning,if we take into account that the word 'Mitzraim,' means 'borders' and Yaakov's name became Yisrael. So looking deeper into this verse,we might get ,'And these are the names of the Children of Israel who came within the border of Yisrael,each man and his household came.'
So,this means ,that we acquired and also deserved being called our 'Name' as the 'Children of Israel,' when we came into the border of Yisrael our Father,in reference to the belief of G-D's Laws which Yaakov followed with his heart and soul.We as Jews are a people chosen as the 'Children Of Israel' to continue teaching and following HaShem in the way we are asked to do,by HaShem.Then,are we deserving of our chosen Name 'Shemos' of being called 'Israel.' HaShem Blesses us with being called Jews,but it is not just a gift we are to take for granted.We are to work at earning this gift every day,every hour,every moment of breath,that HaShem gives us.HaShem put us as a light to the nations and this means that we are to act as such,to be a light-house,to lead all ships home to HaShem.Standing up and saying we are Jews,yet doing nothing to lead people to the right and true path to HaShem and not following HaShem's Laws of Torah (Chas Ve Shalom),is like having the body without the soul.To be truly deserving of being called 'Shemos B'nei Yisrael,' is more than just being born Jewish or converting to Judaism according to Halacha.We need to 'Be Jewish,' which means to follow in the way of Avraham,Yitztchak and Yaakov,our Holy Forefathers.It means following the holiest prophet we have ever had, ,Moshe Rabbeinu,to truly fulfill what is a Jew.Our verse tells us this, for it says that to be given the name 'Shemos B'nei Yisrael,' we are to come with Yaakov into the border of HaShem's Laws and Path.Being born Jewish or converting to Judaism,according to Halacha ,is beautiful,but to BE Jewish,.we need to follow HaShem the way HaShem instructs us to do,otherwise,we will end up going away from HaShem and the Torah precepts of what is the path of being a Jew (Chas Ve Shalom).We are not only to just be Jews in name.We are to be Jews where our very border is the way of Yaakov,the way HaShem in His Torah wants us to be.Not just us,but our entire households,are to follow Yaakov and be as HaShem instructed us to be.This is the way and path of 'Shemos B'nei Yisrael,' the 'Name' of the 'Children of Israel.'
Within the word 'Shemos,' is the word 'Shemah,' which means 'Hear,' so with the words 'Ve'Eileh Shemos,' at the beginning of our Parsha, HaShem says to us ,' And this is what we are to hear,' to be true to following the Laws like true sons of Yaakov and then we will be deserving of the 'Shemos' - 'The Name,' of the 'B'nei Yisrael,' - 'Children of Yisrael.'
Don't ever take for granted the gift of being Jewish just because you were born so.Work at it every day and with every breath HaShem gives you,in the way HaShem asks you to do ,making sure to do it -HaShem's Way.
The 'Ve' at the beginning of our Parsha, suggests a link with what came before.Yosef had died and was embalmed in Mitzraim.That generation that went into Egypt,would continue to become the 'Children Of Israel ' that kept their Jewish Names 'Shemos' and did not take foreign names.They thus showed a desire to stay apart from foreign ways that are not from HaShem.A lesson that is also important today.

The verse goes,'Ve' Eileh Shemos B'nei Yisrael Haba'i'm Mitzraima Eit Yaakov Ish Uveito Ba'u ,' - ' And These Are The Names Of The Children Of Israel Who Were Coming To Egypt With Jacob,Each Man And His Household Came.' The Torah here enumerates the tribes that came into Egypt.Now the Jews were in Egypt for a long time and the story of our slavery and freedom began by the Hand of HaShem,through Moshe our leader and teacher.
This first verse can have a deeper meaning,if we take into account that the word 'Mitzraim,' means 'borders' and Yaakov's name became Yisrael. So looking deeper into this verse,we might get ,'And these are the names of the Children of Israel who came within the border of Yisrael,each man and his household came.'
So,this means ,that we acquired and also deserved being called our 'Name' as the 'Children of Israel,' when we came into the border of Yisrael our Father,in reference to the belief of G-D's Laws which Yaakov followed with his heart and soul.We as Jews are a people chosen as the 'Children Of Israel' to continue teaching and following HaShem in the way we are asked to do,by HaShem.Then,are we deserving of our chosen Name 'Shemos' of being called 'Israel.' HaShem Blesses us with being called Jews,but it is not just a gift we are to take for granted.We are to work at earning this gift every day,every hour,every moment of breath,that HaShem gives us.HaShem put us as a light to the nations and this means that we are to act as such,to be a light-house,to lead all ships home to HaShem.Standing up and saying we are Jews,yet doing nothing to lead people to the right and true path to HaShem and not following HaShem's Laws of Torah (Chas Ve Shalom),is like having the body without the soul.To be truly deserving of being called 'Shemos B'nei Yisrael,' is more than just being born Jewish or converting to Judaism according to Halacha.We need to 'Be Jewish,' which means to follow in the way of Avraham,Yitztchak and Yaakov,our Holy Forefathers.It means following the holiest prophet we have ever had, ,Moshe Rabbeinu,to truly fulfill what is a Jew.Our verse tells us this, for it says that to be given the name 'Shemos B'nei Yisrael,' we are to come with Yaakov into the border of HaShem's Laws and Path.Being born Jewish or converting to Judaism,according to Halacha ,is beautiful,but to BE Jewish,.we need to follow HaShem the way HaShem instructs us to do,otherwise,we will end up going away from HaShem and the Torah precepts of what is the path of being a Jew (Chas Ve Shalom).We are not only to just be Jews in name.We are to be Jews where our very border is the way of Yaakov,the way HaShem in His Torah wants us to be.Not just us,but our entire households,are to follow Yaakov and be as HaShem instructed us to be.This is the way and path of 'Shemos B'nei Yisrael,' the 'Name' of the 'Children of Israel.'
Within the word 'Shemos,' is the word 'Shemah,' which means 'Hear,' so with the words 'Ve'Eileh Shemos,' at the beginning of our Parsha, HaShem says to us ,' And this is what we are to hear,' to be true to following the Laws like true sons of Yaakov and then we will be deserving of the 'Shemos' - 'The Name,' of the 'B'nei Yisrael,' - 'Children of Yisrael.'
Don't ever take for granted the gift of being Jewish just because you were born so.Work at it every day and with every breath HaShem gives you,in the way HaShem asks you to do ,making sure to do it -HaShem's Way.
The 'Ve' at the beginning of our Parsha, suggests a link with what came before.Yosef had died and was embalmed in Mitzraim.That generation that went into Egypt,would continue to become the 'Children Of Israel ' that kept their Jewish Names 'Shemos' and did not take foreign names.They thus showed a desire to stay apart from foreign ways that are not from HaShem.A lesson that is also important today.
HaShem gave us a precious Jewish gift that needs to be Blessed with how HaShem sees us act.Let us always be faithful to our Jewish Names 'Shemos,' of HaShem's Yiddishkeit in Torah and remain faithful always to the ways and Laws of HaShem.

Parashas Vayechi
Our Parsha this Shabbos is 'Vayechi,' and starts with how Yaakov lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years and then goes on to tell us that the years of Yaakov's life were One Hundred and Forty Seven Years.
Does this not sound strange that the years that refer to Yaakov living in Golus (Exile) away from the Holy Land,should be called 'living?' Should not the years in the Holy land be the ones referred to as living?
We all live in this world,not close spiritually to Gan Eiden.Adam Ve Chava were chased out of there due to their Aveirah.We were all put down here in a form of Golus.There,we would have been closer to HaShem and surrounded with Holiness and light all around us all the time.But here,darkness permeates this world.So why are we here when we could be in a place of holiness that is given as a gift?Of course we know that due to their sin,they were chased out,but out of everything bad,comes something good.But what can be good about Golus if we are out of Heaven?How can one describe 'living' as a feeling that can be related to Golus,where Yaakov was to be described as 'living,' when he was out of the Holy land?Let us look a little deeper.Of course the Holiest place to live is in the Holy land and Gan Eiden and Shamaim (Heaven).We know that Yaakov was revived and felt truly like he was truly 'living,' when he was back with his beloved son Yosef.That is enough to feel as though he was 'living.'But looking deeper at the concept of 'living,' and what can be good about being in a place out of Holiness,is that we are given the opportunity to bring G-Dliness to that place.HaShem is everywhere even in the darkness.If we look back to Bereishis ,we read that HaShem Created the Heavens and the Earth and when it was astonishingly empty,there was 'darkness upon the surface of the deep and HaShem's Divine Presence hovered upon the surface of the waters.' So darkness was there before other things.Why darkness?Because HaShem had not put His Presence into is yet.Only when HaShem did that,'There was light.' The very next words in Bereishis are 'G-D said 'Let there be light.'If we continue on with the verse,we see that there is still darkness and a separation of light and dark.This is what HaShem wants us to do.We are,at every moment,to continue bringing HaShem's Holy Light,into every bit of darkness that still is.To bring HaShem to people that are searching and still in the dark.Each one of us is to lighten up the very world around us,because only when all is light and HaShem is among us,then will there be true 'living.' So,when Yaakov came to Egypt,to a place of darkness,his very holiness brought light around him.Now,he was 'living,' by also bringing HaShem's light into all he touched and came across.When doing HaShem's will,he was really 'living.'
This is what we are to do.Our sole purpose in this existence is to finish making all darkness into light.HaShem wants us to do this.Doing HaShem's purpose is true 'living.'
The word 'Vayechi,' in Gematria comes to 34 which is 3+4=7.This is the same Gematrical value as the word 'Mashiach.'At the time of Mashiach,HaShem will live amongst us ,so for us ,that will be true living.It will be a time of light.At that time,time will be eternal-'living' will be eternal.The word 'Mashiach' comes from the root 'Limshicho,' which means 'To Anoint.'There will come Mashiach at the End Of Days but we are all appointed to bring HaShem into this world. If this is within the word 'Vayechi,' it shows us also that to live,we are all anointed to do HaShem's work of bringing HaShem into this world by turning all darkness to light.This is why we are here.
Let us not waste a single moment more.Let us all start to fulfill our true purposes and take all darkness away and bring HaShem's light into this world.So please,for HaShem and for all that are here,do as HaShem requests. Follow HaShem's Laws.Keep HaShem's Torah.Follow HaShem's directions to the 'light of living.'
